Just want to say "Thank you" to the NFL for releasing the SuperBowls in their entirety. Keeping these gems locked up didn't make sense since most wouldn't pay to see these. By releasing them, fans can enjoy the best sport in the world.

Yes. I thought the Bills relied too much on Kelly and the drops by Andre Reed on some third downs didn't help. Of course if Scott Norwood makes that kick, we're talking about the Bills in a whole new light.
On paper, they should have beaten the Redskins too. Dallas was just too good, young fast and talented, the beginning of a dynasty. And as a Giants fan I was rooting for the Bills in those other three because they were all our division rivals. Hey there's a good chance this year will be Bills vs. Eagles (all four NFC East teams) or even Bills vs. Cowboys III.
@@tomservo75 Should have beaten the Redskins? I’m confused, if you watch that game the Bills were completely dominated in it as they fell into a 24-0 hole early on and never really found their footing. Kelly also had a bad game, as he threw 4 INTs.
Ron Erhardt's offensive game plan should be in there too. A master class on how to stop an explosive offense. Keep the ball away from the Bills and run the clock.
In a way, this might have been a preview of Belichick's Patriots career - win it by using the defense to keep it close and having mentally tough QB play. What Hostetler and Anderson did to squeeze out every yard and second that they did was remarkable. And while Belichick's defensive strategy was genius, the Giants weren't playing some prevent defense-they were hitting the Bills hard every chance they got.
@@pac401 Belichick later re-used this exact plan again, on both offense and defense, to defuse the record-setting Manning Colts in the 2004 AFC Divisional, where he held Manning (record 49 TD passes in the regular season) to 3 points and just 20 minutes of possession, and that’s with several top defensive players out with injury including Ty Law and Richard Seymour. They ran it for 200+ yds with Corey Dillon and Kevin Faulk on the Colts undersized defense while the defense focused on intimidating the Colts receivers and mostly ignored Edgerrin James, betting that the Colts would not try to win via running the ball. That game is right up there with this one, and the Super Bowl 36 upset of the Greatest Show on Turf, as the one of Belichick’s greatest all time performances
Fun Fact the 2013 Seattle Seahawks were the first team since this 1990 Bills team to reach a Super Bowl that had no players on their 53 man roster to have ever been in a Super Bowl

Courtice the whole point was that the Bills were a soft bill polian team. Belichick used this same gameplan against the colts in the 2000s to the point where he was known as Peyton’s daddy for about a 4 year stretch from 01-05
The defensive game plan for this game was to stop the Bills' passing attack at all costs...........it was actually intentional for the Giants to actually let the Bills' running attack have a bit of steam if it meant they could prevent the big play

Belichick knew he didn't want to get into a game where the Bills threw the ball over 35 or 40 times so the emphasis was to stop that attack while sacrificing in the running game. They knew T. Thomas would get some yards anyway.......... before you tell me to read a book do some research or can you not have an intelligent conversation without resorting to petty insults??

I was 15. And I knew after the heartbreaking loss to the Rams the previous playoffs that this was going to happen. Is it my favorite NFL game? Looking back yes but damn it was too close for comfort. I felt the Giants had some missed opportunities there too.
As a Bills fan, I can't believe I just put a thumbs up for this. Greatest Super Bowl in NFL history (despite the heartache and nightmares). And granted the Bills were able to get in field goal range, but they lacked to get out of bounds - or even tried to on every play on that last drive. A couple more yards could have made the difference for Norwood.
I thought a 47 yarder isn’t a gimme by any means, yet I know many people who say he shouldn’t have missed. I mean we do see successful kicks from over 50, even 60 but IDK
@@RYMAN1321 just like everything in sports, things/players evolve. Now adays, a 47/48 yard fg is not considered to be that far of a distance, 30+ years ago, kickers were just not that powerful. I'm sure training is the main reason now we see kickers make these at ease. Of course some kickers still miss a lot these days. Bottomline, Bills knew Norwood didn't have a strong leg (especially on grass)... an extra yard or two and that kick probably goes in.
@@RYMAN1321 The best way to think about NFL kicking in 1991 is to imagine how confident you'd be in a college kicker making a 47 yard FG in today's games. That's pretty much the gap in NFL kicking from 1991 to 2024. They were the equivalent of today's college kickers. In other words, very unreliable.
If you notice, all of Norwood's extra points went to the right. His short field goal also went right. It's like that's his normal pattern. If Coach had noticed, they would have lined him up on the other hash mark and he would have made it.

For those old enough to have seen it live, this Super Bowl is surrounded by a bunch of blowout games outside Super Bowl XXIII which made it even more thrilling at the time. Still the best after all these years. No turnovers.

A 47-yard FG in those days was probably the equivalent of a 55-57 yarder today in terms of percentages, especially off grass fields which most stadiums did not have. There were only maybe 10 kickers in the league at the time who had that sort of range and Norwood was not one of them.
Exactly, I don't understand the hate toward Norwood. Maybe it was the scapegoat of the reason why the bills loss. The real reason of the loss is the giants running backs and Parcell being a genius at chewing the clock.
@@brocklanders9259 missing on three previous attempts against the raiders in that playoff game counts for something. As in things would not have gone down to the wire like that if he had just made a few kicks earlier in the game.
No matter how many times I watch it, I still can't believe Ingram's play to get that first down. Should have been tackled 4 times. Unbelievable individual effort on the biggest stage.
The Bills attempts at tackling were shameful on that play. Should've come up short by four yards, not be able to stretch for the fist down with someone holding your ankle.
Talley blew it. I'd say Kelso too, but realistically, he just got shook out of his cleats. Talley had a form tackle right in front of him and let Ingram duck him.
If you love football, love defense, the ground game, a little David vs Goliath, then this game had everything. 5'-8" ingrim breaking tackles for crucial first was amazing. Not just score but every play was close. It was a beautiful game.
I still think this was the greatest Super Bowl ever. Not only because it came down to the very end but because of the totally contrasting styles. There was also the “upset” factor, with which I was well pleased being one of the few people who was picking the Giants. (Back then defenses actually won championships.)
This was a great game, i recorded it on vhs and watched it every couple of years, then made a dvd of that tape. This game is what got me interesting in analyzing games. Why teams win or lose. people make fun of Buffalo, but they are the only team ever to go to SB four years in a Row.
I can remember when I was watching the game how nervous I was in the final 2 minutes of the Giants possibly blowing this game despite the record time they had in possession and hoped Scott Norwood stats would be the only thing that could save the Giants. Fortunately it was. Good hard fought game.
If you watch Norwood's approach to the final field goal attempt, he went two steps deeper than normal to get more on the kick. Like he was kicking off, not attempting a field goal. He's 10 feet behind the holder.
I thought it was so much closer to being good inside the right upright when I saw it live as a ten year old, but I see now he pushed it quite wide. Never got his foot around it.
I wonder if the hovering military helicopter did play a role in screwing up the wind like someone from the Bills said. You can here the huge propellers off/on during the game

They seem to come out of nowhere and knock off the best! 1990 NFC Championship Game vs 49ers 2007 playoffs (all on the road) and of course, stopping the Patriots perfect season 2011 Knocked off once-beaten and heavily favored Green Bay in the playoffs (on the road) and knocking off the Patriots again. I am sure there is more, but the above games surely back up your statement!
M Kelly even in that 2007 season they beat the 1 seed cowboys who had beat them twice in the regular season, and then of course beating Green Bay at home in nfc title game

This game is timeless, one of the best games I’ve seen. That Bills offense was nearly unstoppable they were clicking on all cylinders. Parcells & Belichick had the perfect game plan….keep the Bills offense off the field. And they did. And the Bills still had a shot to win. This was the Bills best team of the four.
I remember this game. i was 10 years old, laid out on the coach and delirious with the flu and a 102 fever. this was the bills one chance to win a superbowl. for all their AFC dominance they got absolutely trounced in the other 3.

Even as a Giant fan I feel for you. When I was growing up in 60's and 70's the Giants stunk almost all the time. People on my block on Long Island were Jet fans and Cowboy fans. Anyway it would be nice if you stuck it to the Pats on the way to your SuperBowl.
I'm a Buffalo native and was a freshman in high school for Super Bowl XXV. There weren't a lot of men around so it took my best friend getting Tecmo Bowl on his Nintendo for me to start to pay attention to and understand football. The Bills sucked up until middle school so I honestly didn't really start watching them until this playoff run. The AFC Championship Game and this Super Bowl were probably the first two football games I watched from beginning to end. I didn't understand all of the rules but I knew we weren't blowing out the Giants the way we did the Raiders. After Scott Norwood's missed FG, it took me a couple of minutes to understand that we had lost, and he wouldn't get another kick. One of the replays actually made it look sort of like he made it. To this day, the only Super Bowl that has come close to this one is the Titans vs. the Rams.
Thanks. Even though I was a huge fan of this buffalo team the loss hurt. Looking back every year they went I just thought that this is the year. I really believed they were too good to lose them all. One of the best teams of all time even if they never won one. It's cool to rewatch this though knowing I was a senior in high school. I’m a Steelers Fan, We had many great Superbowls, but this by far was the Best Super Bowl of All Time. A very clean tight game with a little bit of everything in it, and kept you guessing until the very end. Really didn’t know who was going to win until the clock hit 0.
The Giants' defense was so effective at jamming and hitting the Bills' receivers with such force, that several sure fire catches were dropped by Bills' receivers. This is exactly what Bill Belichick wanted to happen, and it did! Bill Belichick's defensive plan is pure genius. I'd go as far as to say that Bill's defensive plan is the greatest game plan of all-time. Had the Bills stuck with giving the ball to Thurman Thomas more often, the Bills would have won this game easily. During the first half, you can tell the Bills gave Thomas the ball on at least a few occasions, and Thomas had some epic runs, but for whatever reason, Marv Levy and Jim Kelly didn't capitalize on the Giants willingness to giving up huge chunks of yardage on the ground until the second half of the game. The Bills unwillingness to go to the ground in the first half is just mind blowing to me. Game plans are great, but the ability to adapt a game plan on the fly to what's working is what separates the boys from the men.
Yeah that was puzzling. If your RB is ripping off 10-15 yd. runs why stop? Unless he's fatigued. Who knows? Kelly called his plays so guess he wanted passing action. Giants didn't complain.
It’s the same mistake that the Rams made in 2002 and the Falcons made in 2017. They wanted to win throwing the ball. Atlanta was doing the right thing at first, but got away from it late and it cost them.
Same thing happens with too many teams.. why abandon the run? Owners fouls and marketability. They already know the outcome. No other reason to stop doing what works
Norwood missing was not a fluke. He was terrible on grass past 40 yards, I think 1-5 and 0-6 in his career from 50 yards+. The Giants had only a week to prepare after the titanic 49er game, and they were facing a very talented team on the type of tear that usually ends in a championship. They had to play it on a razor's edge, bend but not break, let Thomas run wild, and they knew precisely how much field position they could give up where Norwood's deficiencies could be exploited. It was all part of the plan.
I was in first grade this season and it was the first season in which I followed the whole season and could comprehend what was happening. This team was SO tough, battled every week. I can remember my dad letting me stay up to watch the Monday night game against the 49ers, I remember when Phil Simms got hurt because my father slipped on ice the same day and broke his wrist. I remember the playoff games against the 9ers and thinking that the FGs wouldn’t be enough to win, I remember Leonard Marshall destroying Joe Montana. Then this game... I remember the adults being optimistic because the giants got the ball at half, oj Anderson lowering his shoulder and of course mark Ingram’s catch and run... that was the moment I started to believe... I’ll never forget the pure joy of my dad and uncle when the bills missed the field goal. Truly a season to remember.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. I can imagine the pain if I was a Bills fan. So many little things in the game that could have changed the outcome. I'm a Giants fan, and this SB was exhilarating when I watched it.
As a 49ers fan, that's exactly how I felt about the NFC championship game. Those damn Giants stole that and this Superbowl. They got lucky twice. Doesn't happen too often in the NFL.

Was the only time I could ever remember a backup QB, ( a career backup), winning a SB. i thought when he got sacked in the endzone, for a safety by Bruce Smith, the Bills would win; was a gutty performance by Hostetler.
Imo these bills teams are underrated. They accomplished what no other team has ever done 4 straight super bowls is quite the accomplishment. They have nothing to be ashamed of. Hopefully the NFL and fans alike will give the bills the proper respect owed to them.
I'm a bills fan, not even close to old enough to watch this game live, but just now watching it back for the first time breaks my heart. The only pain I've felt as a bills fan was the chiefs loss in OT.
Looking back this was the one Super Bowl that I expected the Bills to win. The Redskins seemed like the better team the following year and the Cowboys weren’t gonna lose to them either. If only he made that kick.....

I've been a Giant's fan since I was born in 88. My parents have hated me since I was child. What gives me inspiration are these Giant's superbowls. I keep pushing forward because they've kept pushing forward. It's been a horrible life except for these games I continuously watch on youtube. Idk if people think I am stupid because of this thought process. Maybe I am Idk but I keep pushing forward
2nd half starts, Giants get the ball, I go to cook dinner, walk the dog, pick up the dry cleaning, mowed the lawn, came back and the Giants still had the ball.

Season tickets have been in the family since the polo grounds.The 1st SB was special. The shutout vs Redskins in the cold wind at Giants Stadium was just unbelievable. It made the S.B in Pasadena anticlimactic. It also fulfilled my dad,s dream, who,s heath was beginning to fail. This game we didn't go to, & I just watched it again in this lockdown.Watched by our whole group from sec18 Row h in our NJ home this will always be 1 great memory. I see that play over and over again on UA-cam, and in my mind, and to this day I still cannot believe how shoddy the tackling was by the Bills defense on that catch.
I know, so many plays that were 'almost' like Bruce's safety, how he held on and the drop by a.reed I think it was the first or second drive ,Kelly hit Reed on the numbers and he dropped it ,would of kept the drive going in giants territory, too bad.
He changed his gameplan each week bears 4 defensive lineman niners 3 defensive lineman bills 2 defensive lineman. Man was an absolute wizard for a defensive coordinator.
Andre Reed has 2 killer drops in the 2nd qtr. Third and 1 from midfield right in his hands at 39:30 and next drive on a play that was Kelly's best pass of the game down the seam what should have been a 30 yd gain to the Giant 40 at 43:50. It was during that stretch that the Bills had oppourtunities to build on a 7 pt lead and maybe put the game away.

What a great game! I was stationed over seas during Desert Storm watching this well after midnight. As a Giants fan it was a special treat. It’s hard to believe it’s been 31 years. I was a young “Buck Sgt”. Wow.

Reed got lit up by the Giants D all game, that's why, I mean the Giants crushed not just his body but his psyche, I bet he had to have received some medical attention after this.
Nils did badly on third downs on both sides of the ball. On offense didn’t convert one until the last drive of the game. A few of those conversions earlier would’ve extended drives, given their tired battered defense a chance to rest and regroup, and possibly led to more points, which would’ve forced the giants out of their game plan in order to play catch up. Stopping the giants on third down would’ve killed those long clock eating drives and maybe taken at least seven points off the board.
I watched this game live as it happened and found it to be an incredibly dull performance with an exciting finish. Perhaps this many years later, I will watch the whole thing again and will have a greater appreciation for it.
Lindsey Summers it probably seemed dull because it was old school smashmouth football. Not a lot of dazzle dazzle. Even the bills who were known for finesse plays and spectacular big plays didn’t really have a lot of those, mainly because their offense was on the sidelines most of the game cause the giants had the ball so much, and also because the Giants defensive scheme didn’t allow it.
@@sickofguysnamedtodd2293 Keep in mind, I was only 13 when this game aired. Seeing it with new eyes made a big difference. Tough game, tense, spirited, with an exciting finish. The games I find most enjoyable are the ones that are in doubt until the end, and this is one of them.

On paper, they should have beaten the Redskins too. Dallas was just too good, young fast and talented, the beginning of a dynasty. And as a Giants fan I was rooting for the Bills in those other three because they were all our division rivals. Hey there's a good chance this year will be Bills vs. Eagles (all four NFC East teams) or even Bills vs. Cowboys III.

In a way, this might have been a preview of Belichick's Patriots career - win it by using the defense to keep it close and having mentally tough QB play. What Hostetler and Anderson did to squeeze out every yard and second that they did was remarkable. And while Belichick's defensive strategy was genius, the Giants weren't playing some prevent defense-they were hitting the Bills hard every chance they got.

As a Bills fan, I can't believe I just put a thumbs up for this. Greatest Super Bowl in NFL history (despite the heartache and nightmares). And granted the Bills were able to get in field goal range, but they lacked to get out of bounds - or even tried to on every play on that last drive. A couple more yards could have made the difference for Norwood.
I thought a 47 yarder isn’t a gimme by any means, yet I know many people who say he shouldn’t have missed.

@@RYMAN1321 just like everything in sports, things/players evolve. Now adays, a 47/48 yard fg is not considered to be that far of a distance, 30+ years ago, kickers were just not that powerful. I'm sure training is the main reason now we see kickers make these at ease. Of course some kickers still miss a lot these days. Bottomline, Bills knew Norwood didn't have a strong leg (especially on grass)... an extra yard or two and that kick probably goes in.

If you notice, all of Norwood's extra points went to the right. His short field goal also went right. It's like that's his normal pattern. If Coach had noticed, they would have lined him up on the other hash mark and he would have made it.

A 47-yard FG in those days was probably the equivalent of a 55-57 yarder today in terms of percentages, especially off grass fields which most stadiums did not have. There were only maybe 10 kickers in the league at the time who had that sort of range and Norwood was not one of them.
That kick looked long enough.. if it was straight I'm wondering if it would have went in.
Back then I think it was about a 50% at this range but to your point it varied by kicker. Now it’s about 70%.
Exactly, I don't understand the hate toward Norwood. Maybe it was the scapegoat of the reason why the bills loss. The real reason of the loss is the giants running backs and Parcell being a genius at chewing the clock.

No matter how many times I watch it, I still can't believe Ingram's play to get that first down. Should have been tackled 4 times. Unbelievable individual effort on the biggest stage.
The Bills attempts at tackling were shameful on that play. Should've come up short by four yards, not be able to stretch for the fist down with someone holding your ankle.
Talley blew it. I'd say Kelso too, but realistically, he just got shook out of his cleats. Talley had a form tackle right in front of him and let Ingram duck him.
If you love football, love defense, the ground game, a little David vs Goliath, then this game had everything. 5'-8" ingrim breaking tackles for crucial first was amazing. Not just score but every play was close. It was a beautiful game.

I still think this was the greatest Super Bowl ever. Not only because it came down to the very end but because of the totally contrasting styles. There was also the “upset” factor, with which I was well pleased being one of the few people who was picking the Giants. (Back then defenses actually won championships.)

I can remember when I was watching the game how nervous I was in the final 2 minutes of the Giants possibly blowing this game despite the record time they had in possession and hoped Scott Norwood stats would be the only thing that could save the Giants. Fortunately it was. Good hard fought game.

That Matt Bahr tackle on the opening kickoff was amazing.
If you watch Norwood's approach to the final field goal attempt, he went two steps deeper than normal to get more on the kick. Like he was kicking off, not attempting a field goal. He's 10 feet behind the holder.
I thought it was so much closer to being good inside the right upright when I saw it live as a ten year old, but I see now he pushed it quite wide. Never got his foot around it.
You really have to wonder how changing the number of steps towards the ball could have affected the swing of his leg and just the timing of it.
I wonder if the hovering military helicopter did play a role in screwing up the wind like someone from the Bills said. You can here the huge propellers off/on during the game

This game is timeless, one of the best games I’ve seen. That Bills offense was nearly unstoppable they were clicking on all cylinders. Parcells & Belichick had the perfect game plan….keep the Bills offense off the field. And they did. And the Bills still had a shot to win. This was the Bills best team of the four.

I'm a Buffalo native and was a freshman in high school for Super Bowl XXV. There weren't a lot of men around so it took my best friend getting Tecmo Bowl on his Nintendo for me to start to pay attention to and understand football. The Bills sucked up until middle school so I honestly didn't really start watching them until this playoff run. The AFC Championship Game and this Super Bowl were probably the first two football games I watched from beginning to end. I didn't understand all of the rules but I knew we weren't blowing out the Giants the way we did the Raiders. After Scott Norwood's missed FG, it took me a couple of minutes to understand that we had lost, and he wouldn't get another kick. One of the replays actually made it look sort of like he made it. To this day, the only Super Bowl that has come close to this one is the Titans vs. the Rams.

I’m a Steelers Fan, We had many great Superbowls, but this by far was the Best Super Bowl of All Time. A very clean tight game with a little bit of everything in it, and kept you guessing until the very end. Really didn’t know who was going to win until the clock hit 0.
07 will always rank the highest for me but this one is 2nd for sure. Giants sure pulled off some crazy upsets the last 3.5 decades that’s for sure.
The Giants' defense was so effective at jamming and hitting the Bills' receivers with such force, that several sure fire catches were dropped by Bills' receivers. This is exactly what Bill Belichick wanted to happen, and it did! Bill Belichick's defensive plan is pure genius. I'd go as far as to say that Bill's defensive plan is the greatest game plan of all-time. Had the Bills stuck with giving the ball to Thurman Thomas more often, the Bills would have won this game easily. During the first half, you can tell the Bills gave Thomas the ball on at least a few occasions, and Thomas had some epic runs, but for whatever reason, Marv Levy and Jim Kelly didn't capitalize on the Giants willingness to giving up huge chunks of yardage on the ground until the second half of the game. The Bills unwillingness to go to the ground in the first half is just mind blowing to me. Game plans are great, but the ability to adapt a game plan on the fly to what's working is what separates the boys from the men.
Yeah that was puzzling. If your RB is ripping off 10-15 yd. runs why stop? Unless he's fatigued. Who knows? Kelly called his plays so guess he wanted passing action. Giants didn't complain.
It’s the same mistake that the Rams made in 2002 and the Falcons made in 2017. They wanted to win throwing the ball. Atlanta was doing the right thing at first, but got away from it late and it cost them.

Norwood missing was not a fluke. He was terrible on grass past 40 yards, I think 1-5 and 0-6 in his career from 50 yards+. The Giants had only a week to prepare after the titanic 49er game, and they were facing a very talented team on the type of tear that usually ends in a championship. They had to play it on a razor's edge, bend but not break, let Thomas run wild, and they knew precisely how much field position they could give up where Norwood's deficiencies could be exploited. It was all part of the plan.
Notice Norwood's PAT kick after the Bills' last TD.....he pushed it to the right. A sign of something to come.

I was in first grade this season and it was the first season in which I followed the whole season and could comprehend what was happening. This team was SO tough, battled every week. I can remember my dad letting me stay up to watch the Monday night game against the 49ers, I remember when Phil Simms got hurt because my father slipped on ice the same day and broke his wrist. I remember the playoff games against the 9ers and thinking that the FGs wouldn’t be enough to win, I remember Leonard Marshall destroying Joe Montana. Then this game... I remember the adults being optimistic because the giants got the ball at half, oj Anderson lowering his shoulder and of course mark Ingram’s catch and run... that was the moment I started to believe... I’ll never forget the pure joy of my dad and uncle when the bills missed the field goal. Truly a season to remember.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. I can imagine the pain if I was a Bills fan. So many little things in the game that could have changed the outcome. I'm a Giants fan, and this SB was exhilarating when I watched it.
As a 49ers fan, that's exactly how I felt about the NFC championship game. Those damn Giants stole that and this Superbowl. They got lucky twice. Doesn't happen too often in the NFL.
The Giants played a perfect game and it still came down to them hoping the Bills miss a kick at the end.

Was the only time I could ever remember a backup QB, ( a career backup), winning a SB. i thought when he got sacked in the endzone, for a safety by Bruce Smith, the Bills would win; was a gutty performance by Hostetler.
Imo these bills teams are underrated. They accomplished what no other team has ever done 4 straight super bowls is quite the accomplishment. They have nothing to be ashamed of. Hopefully the NFL and fans alike will give the bills the proper respect owed to them.

I'm a bills fan, not even close to old enough to watch this game live, but just now watching it back for the first time breaks my heart. The only pain I've felt as a bills fan was the chiefs loss in OT.
Looking back this was the one Super Bowl that I expected the Bills to win. The Redskins seemed like the better team the following year and the Cowboys weren’t gonna lose to them either.

I've been a Giant's fan since I was born in 88. My parents have hated me since I was child. What gives me inspiration are these Giant's superbowls. I keep pushing forward because they've kept pushing forward. It's been a horrible life except for these games I continuously watch on youtube. Idk if people think I am stupid because of this thought process. Maybe I am Idk but I keep pushing forward
2nd half starts, Giants get the ball, I go to cook dinner, walk the dog, pick up the dry cleaning, mowed the lawn, came back and the Giants still had the ball.

Season tickets have been in the family since the polo grounds.The 1st SB was special. The shutout vs Redskins in the cold wind at Giants Stadium was just unbelievable. It made the S.B in Pasadena anticlimactic. It also fulfilled my dad,s dream, who,s heath was beginning to fail.

I see that play over and over again on UA-cam, and in my mind, and to this day I still cannot believe how shoddy the tackling was by the Bills defense on that catch.
I know, so many plays that were 'almost' like Bruce's safety, how he held on and the drop by a.reed I think it was the first or second drive ,Kelly hit Reed on the numbers and he dropped it ,would of kept the drive going in giants territory, too bad.

Andre Reed has 2 killer drops in the 2nd qtr. Third and 1 from midfield right in his hands at 39:30 and next drive on a play that was Kelly's best pass of the game down the seam what should have been a 30 yd gain to the Giant 40 at 43:50. It was during that stretch that the Bills had oppourtunities to build on a 7 pt lead and maybe put the game away.
Yeah no kidding. Really puzzling for an All Pro. Prob just the nerves. Maybe just not his day. This is why Rice & Taylor got to be considered one of the best (if not the best) pair who ever played. Rice was not 100% due to flu for SB v. Chargers. GOAT.

Reed got lit up by the Giants D all game, that's why, I mean the Giants crushed not just his body but his psyche, I bet he had to have received some medical attention after this.
Nils did badly on third downs on both sides of the ball. On offense didn’t convert one until the last drive of the game. A few of those conversions earlier would’ve extended drives, given their tired battered defense a chance to rest and regroup, and possibly led to more points, which would’ve forced the giants out of their game plan in order to play catch up.
Stopping the giants on third down would’ve killed those long clock eating drives and maybe taken at least seven points off the board.

To be honest, he had caught the ball. Guyton made a great play to punch it out while tackling. Reed didn't drop the catch, it was punched out.
I watched this game live as it happened and found it to be an incredibly dull performance with an exciting finish. Perhaps this many years later, I will watch the whole thing again and will have a greater appreciation for it.
Lindsey Summers it probably seemed dull because it was old school smashmouth football. Not a lot of dazzle dazzle. Even the bills who were known for finesse plays and spectacular big plays didn’t really have a lot of those, mainly because their offense was on the sidelines most of the game cause the giants had the ball so much, and also because the Giants defensive scheme didn’t allow it.
@@sickofguysnamedtodd2293 Keep in mind, I was only 13 when this game aired. Seeing it with new eyes made a big difference. Tough game, tense, spirited, with an exciting finish. The games I find most enjoyable are the ones that are in doubt until the end, and this is one of them.
