So so simple to make and my partner adores dime bars but he spends forever removing the chocolate so we’ve made these without the chocolate and they’re perfect. Thankyou so much x

I have made something that tasted exactly like daim bars, but I only used 500 grams of butter and 500 grams of sugar, and then enough chocolate to coat. I heated it up to about 150 degrees, a candy thermometer is handy, and then I poured it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and scored it with a knife before it hardened completely. That way you can just snap them when they're fully cooled, and dip them in chocolate - a sprinkling of sea salt on top makes them super delicious. This recipe looks super good, great idea with the iphone case molds!

I had a Daim bar earlier today and there's a notable seasalty like taste to the caramel. So I made some today and they turned out great. Spot on. I really like this recipe. Would love to see more candyrecipes on your channel. That's a bit more unique and "my virgin kitchen"-style if I may say so. cheers

You made it look so easy! I remember when we used to make these in school. Once a week we had a cooking class. Everybodys favorite day, because food you know. Even the favorite day for those who didn’t have cooking class, because they got to eat our food if they begged hard enough. Wich they sure did. But these daim bars. They were always either undercooked and tasted only like syrup, or burnt to the point, they tasted like the aftermath of a housefire. Even so, we coated them in lots of chocolate and were far to eager to eat them before the chocolate had cooled down. The cooking class usually took place the last two hours of the school day, so you could clearly see the evidence of daim eating students, if you entered the bus. The bus was sticky and full of melted chocolate after we left. Till this day I sure don’t know why the heck the busdriver didn’t ban daim day! Anyways! Now I’m a grown up, so Imma try this again! Hopefully it will taste like actual daim this time! 😄

Yay! My mum can’t eat chocolate so I was looking for a way to make just the filling of a Daim to chop on top of sweet poached pears and ice cream 😋 So much easier than I thought it would be!

I made them yesterday. Unfortunately the caramel didn't become fully hard like yours did in the video. So as soon as I dipped them in the chocolate they would get very soft and bendy. I guess becouse I used very finely chopped almonds instead of ground almonds (these aren't available in my area in NL) They still taste pretty darn good :) but with my perfectionism i'll definitely keep trying. Thanks for the recipe

Looks delicious, we can't find dime bars any more where I am in Australia, I'll try this today. 🙂 Just an fyi, corn syrup (made with corn starch) is not the same as golden syrup (made with sugar water and lemon), the taste is very different.
