- The Usual Suspect
In 1992, Paul Berry was found guilty of an armed robbery on a building society in Old Colwyn, North Wales.Eye-witnesses said he was the man who held two elderly women cashiers at knife point. But Rough Justice has uncovered evidence which suggests the case against him was far less routine than it appeared.
The programme reveals that Paul Berry had an alibi which the police could only break by testimony from a convicted conman. Rough Justice found that the police broke nearly every rule in the book in building their case against Paul Berry, including contaminating the identification evidence that helped to convict him.

It was good of the police to let him change into a Motörhead tshirt for the line up, when he was nicked in an Iron Maiden tshirt. 😂
The only BBC Programme that could get near world in action
Used to love his program
The building society looks like someone's living room from 1977, especially the wallpaper.
when someone is 6ft 4 you KNOW it
7 years not seeing his kids grow up, lesson, don’t be a thief in the first place…..
@@kass794tell that to the family of Stefan Kiszco
I’m pretty appalled at this whole case. I’m usually on the side of the police, but this was just awful. And I do not believe in using other crims.
Never take sides .😊
@crosshatch.4709 Never take sides ? I've met lots of criminals that would sell their own family for a sentence reduction or considerations in prison .

Did they ever catch the real culprit?
Normally id reply google it you lazy so n so BUT NOW ffs i see why you asked = wil the REAL Paul berry please step forward :/ jesus minefield or what
He should of been given 10yrs for the tash and the drain pipe jeans
'Should of ' does not make sense
Nothing new look at the Bamber case.
Bamber is most likely guilty IMO.
@@Ligerpride still alot of questions to be answered that puts his guilt in question
I have seen 3 photo- fits in the press of people that I instantly recognised . One was later caught due to DNA , the other two not as far as I am aware .
I was in an ID parade in '98 and took along a ' stooge ' who my GF said resembled me . The witness picked out another member of the parade . In my experience most witnesses say the culprit is taller than they actually are . Men in particular do not like to admit they were afraid to tackle a diminutive thief .
I hate how law enforcement officers give jailhouse informants so much credibility.
The majority of the time it just makes their job easier ....
Hope that Paul Crewe was given a long sentence for that scandulous shirt he was wearing.
reporter: "Did the man look like someone who had just robbed a Building Society of 600 pounds?"
taxi driver [thinks: "now that's what i call a loaded question!"]... grins
reporter: "Why are you laughing??"
tv producer: "oh my god, who is this twit of a reporter?!"
Thanks
