  • The Usual Suspect
In 1992, Paul Berry was found guilty of an armed robbery on a building society in Old Colwyn, North Wales.Eye-witnesses said he was the man who held two elderly women cashiers at knife point. But Rough Justice has uncovered evidence which suggests the case against him was far less routine than it appeared.
The programme reveals that Paul Berry had an alibi which the police could only break by testimony from a convicted conman. Rough Justice found that the police broke nearly every rule in the book in building their case against Paul Berry, including contaminating the identification evidence that helped to convict him.

It was good of the police to let him change into a Motörhead tshirt for the line up, when he was nicked in an Iron Maiden tshirt. 😂

I’m pretty appalled at this whole case. I’m usually on the side of the police, but this was just awful. And I do not believe in using other crims.

I have seen 3 photo- fits in the press of people that I instantly recognised . One was later caught due to DNA , the other two not as far as I am aware .
I was in an ID parade in '98 and took along a ' stooge ' who my GF said resembled me . The witness picked out another member of the parade . In my experience most witnesses say the culprit is taller than they actually are . Men in particular do not like to admit they were afraid to tackle a diminutive thief .
