This is how you live a life man. Went from an NFL player with a solid run in Denver to a darn mushroom farmer in the same lifetime. Proves you can be whatever you want to be in this life.
Yea most people don’t have that option cause you know of talent and the money that talent brings
@@Isaac-ob9tm True but at the same time we're all dealt a hand and he parlayed 1 talent to financial gain into 1 passion from his heart.
If you ever get a chance to look up Jake interviews you can tell he's a real, cool and genuine dude. One of my favorite players as a kid\teen. ✌️😃
Right on bro. I whole-heartedly agree.
Anything as long as you aim down
Jake is the absolute man
He doesn't just want vitality for himself but for others who want to take advantage of it. Character is who you are when no one is looking. This man has CHARACTER
i still believe that in 06 sitting at 7-4 with after starting 7-2 we bench him if we don’t bench him we go 11-5 that year and possibly get to the super bowl we had a top 5 defense and offense that year
@@shaneshafer9022 Agreed!!! Jake the Snake for President! 2024.
Absofrigginlutely💯
As a lifelong Bronco fan, Jake is one of my all-time favorites. I love when he comes on local sports talk radio here in Denver. As fun as he was to watch on the field, he appears to be an even better human being off the field. You just can't help but cheer for the man in his life and his journey to help others heal and feel better.
Agreed, magic mushrooms help so many people escape "reality" long enough that they can find purpose where there seemingly is none. If I hadn't done them when I was at my lowest (a decade ago) I likely wouldn't be here today. I did the whole, therapy and medication thing for years for thousands of dollars and it never helped but purchasing $50 worth of mushrooms managed to get me in a good place finally.

He wasn't the same after Pat Tillman was KIA in Afghanistan. The story I read and understand was that the 2 of them were close friends and Pat Tillman was a very philosophical thinker and most people didn't know that and Jake Plummer was/is a philosophical thinker too.
Them shrooms make u think heavy about life. You see things way different
They had been close since their days at ASU
Pat was also an objector to the war despite fighting in it and was killed for it. Under very very very shady circumstances. Sealed reports redacted information etc. That's the money machine that is the military industrial complex. Yaaaay greed over morality. Ironic we call ourselves democratic and freewsom for all using robots to kill women and children half way across the globe
Pat was an atheist and liberal. He was intellectually and physically gifted beyond what we could imagine. I think of him often.
KIA???
He was murdered by upper level leadership. This has been revealed
I believe jake Plummer would appreciate the commentary you did on this video if he were watching. As usual good job flemlo 💯💯💯💯💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
He really does an amazing job with this subject. Love these deep dives. Dude can tell a story.
I swear the way he presents these videos, even telling the worst story, the person in the story can respect it.
Yeah. He’d appreciate this for sure.
It’s his life. Jake built the life he wanted. Good for him.
FlemLo's videos are great because you don't have to love football or
sports to appreciate the stories he tells and the messages he sends.
I appreciate that
Broncos fan here. Really enjoyed Plummer while on the Broncos and glad to hear he is doing well and still in Colorado making a difference in people's health.
From “Jake the Snake” to Jake-no-ache. What a journey
Nice
I went to college with him and got to know him before and after the 97 season. He’s ALWAYS been his own person. It’s what made him a great college qb and a good nfl qb.
Always heard Jake was an awesome guy.. Ive seen a bunch of interviews and he seems to be a genuinely good dude.
I was a teen from Dallas when Jake was at ASU so I got to see the Sun Devils alot on TV. Always wanted to go to ASU but man.. Id have gotten that boot.. HS buddy went there and I visited. Idk how anyone gets to class.. Too much fun 🤣🍻✌️
Was a teammate on Scottsdale CC basketball team with his best friend from childhood. I hung out with Jake several times. He would come by our apartment sometimes. You're correct he definitely is his own man. Cool dude, maybe because I was a friend/teammate with his best friend, I got to know him a little better than most
@@tacotom3492 yes, ASU is a party school, especially in the mid to late 90s when ASU football was the biggest game in town. Mill Ave was the weekend spot
I got to meet Plummer in Boulder Colorado and he was a super cool dude. He took the time to speak to us and offered to us a signature. We declined because he was with his family
I still have ASU season tickets
GREAT PIECE!!........as a Broncos fan during that era (and I still am) I wondered why he just "upped and left." Your story filled in all of the missing pieces why. I am happy for him, and he has the attitude and money to do whatever he wants while contributing to a good cause and enjoying his life.
He’s my dad’s younger brother. Love that his company is finally getting publicity and people like you are making videos about him and his story. I know he had kind of a shoddy career but there was a lot going on behind the scenes and the fact he played in the league, and what happened during that time, is not something that completely defines him as a person. Like you said it was always just a game. And by the way he kicked ass in basketball and baseball and handball as well. I’m probably going to go work for him next summer, I haven’t visited him in Colorado since he moved back there but I still get to spend a lot of time with him mainly during the summer. I have been getting into mushrooms myself, both medicinal and magical. I don’t smoke weed anymore and barely drink but I like mushrooms. They improved my mental health a lot during the last year (it’s been a really rough one) and by the way what they can do for your body and mental health is beyond a miracle, and people are still finding out more ways to apply them for medical purposes. Some of them are also good to eat. I want to show him this video I think he would like it a lot. Btw if anyone was curious ab the dogs they are Ray Ray and Kosi. Ray was a stud in his heyday, Kosi was a bitch, and not just in the literal sense. Rest In Peace tho. Also another thing the company is pronounced “Uhm-Bo” Anyways man great video. My original point of this stupid ass comment was just to say that I’m glad his business and mission are finally gaining traction and attention. He also owns a commune in Colorado where anybody who is dealing with issues can go and stay as long as they need. Like a mental health therapy type thing. Don’t remember the name but I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to find. You go there and help with some chores and stuff or whatever you need but it’s for people who are in a bad headspace and or just want to get away. I’ll be roofing a house there later this year.
so Jake Plummer is your uncle.....
@@ohioagainsttheworld676 no, not his uncle bro his dads younger brother dawg.
Can i join the commune?
@@fnyourmom3064doesn’t that make him his uncle??
@@user-rd7er3oq2j: That's it, unless his dads younger brother is trans.
I remember him playing at ASU and he was a competitor. The guy gave 100% in every game he played. It’s a shame you couldn’t get ahold of his mic’d up moments; the year he took the Cardinals to the playoffs, he was mic’d while giving an earful to his #1 wideout over not hustling. That same WR caught the game-winning TD pass at the end of the game, and the first guy to give him props was Jake the Snake. The guy pushed his teammates to play their best, which is the greatest attribute a leader has.

His run in college was so much fun. That rose bowl they played in was such a fun season
Man that’s cool you played him at ASU. Did you play in the PAC 10/in college?
@@elikernaghan6511 I said I remember him playing, I said nothing about playing with or against him.
@@dominickholmes3721 what was it like playing against Jake The Snake?
Nothing was ever wrong with Jake Plummer or Jay Cutler, they simply saw football for what it is a GAME not LIFE. We as fans only see the money aspect of sports and not the long term effects it does on the body both mentally and physically.
Well said ....I always said if these guys want to do drugs, smoke weed and get laid safely, let em do it...I never understood why people who never played are telling these men to live football and have no life outside of it...I'm an electrician, even in trade you're told to rest and take care of your body my boss tells us "I want you to live and do the job slower than do it fast and die sooner"
dont forget the politics and dirty scripted outcomes
@@Chuck_EL theres also something to be said about how most of these guys go broke.
Nothing wrong with Jay except that Mike shannahan replaced the snake with him. Such bs
Their job is to operate a peak performance so as to sell merchandise and put butts in the seats. Imagine trying to sell a product but all of your employees never give the correct amount of effort that you would expect out of a professional athlete. It may be a game but that game is their job and that job is more than just a job, its a lifestyle. Its not just choices they make on the field or by watching tape, its what they eat and whether or not they are conditioning themselves enough all year round. There is a lot of monies and other investments involved.
Flemlo, you’ve got a spirit of empathy and openness that we should all strive to have. Thanks for another great story.
Another good one. Your passion and excitement comes through in your videos. It makes them so much better when viewing. Anyone can recite information, but you also make it entertaining. Great work Flemlo!
Man I just love these human stories, Flemlo. You have such a talent for getting into the raw human parts of these players. Thanks for your hard work, bro. This story had me tearing up!
I'm a lifetime broncos fan and, because I was too young to watch Elway (he retired like month after I was born) Plummer was the first QB that I watched and rooted for. Dude's always been one of my favorites. Another great video Flem!
You have my favorite NFL stories on UA-cam by far and the fact you're a fellow Bengals fan is a huge bonus!
This was one of your best FlemLo . As Boise native I’ve always appreciated Jake as a football player but I did not know much about the Man. My respect for Jake grew because of your story .
Jake “The Snake” Plummer is the man. Got to see him play when the Cards still played at ASU Stadium. He had a good career at Denver. Got a rough deal. My second fav player after Elway.
Ya I was a big fan of Plummer. He was a gunslinger
@@TheSoonToBePurgedJackMeHoff55 He was one of the last true gun slinger QB’s (I’m not saying he was a great gun slinger, but he was a gun slinger nonetheless)
@@TheSoonToBePurgedJackMeHoff55 that's part of the reason he threw so many INTs in Arizona

This man sounds like a pretty smart and successful fellow. As are you. Your statement, “ask but don’t judge,” covers so many situations in life. Well done indeed.
Damn these are the type of videos that just make you appreciate all the hard work and time you put in your videos. Going full depth into looking into jakes past. Yeah as you get older with kids and life you want a change, and I totally get it.
Hey Flem, not sure if you ever did one already, but it would be cool to hear you tell the story of Pat Tillman. I love his story, and love how you weave them. Peace ✌️
It is a good story. I think it's best told chronologically as it was revealed. First, the "official story" as reported when his death was announced. Then "But wait, there's more", followed by "But wait, there's more Pt 2, Pt 3, Pt 4,......"
This is one of the stores that inspires you to do never give up even in the darkest situation he managed to go from rock bottom to extreme highs extremely inspiring where he is now good for him
Yeah i'd imagine he does have some pretty extreme highs off those shrooms. What a legend.
With all due respect I wouldn't call being a millionaire backup NFL QB "rock bottom". He earned nearly $60 million while playing and by the sound of it he didn't squander the money. I agree though, good to see him happy.
Its pretty crazy that Jake Plummer made the playoffs 4 times 3x in a row with Denver and Jay Cutler missed the playoffs 3x in a row and only made it once that was with Chicago.
Snake 39-15 with Denver
Cutler 17-20 with Denver
You can blame Shanahan for that. Jake was the real deal Mid-tier QB.
ITs the ultimate team game man you cant blame 1 guy for a NFL team making the playoffs or not.
@@jamesbutler620 no but when one dude was making the playoffs with same personal as the other coach it speaks volumes.
Both were mediocre QBs. and one of those years Jay only played 5 games, that's less than a third of the season.
What's actually crazy is that Jay's individual stats are better on every level and he went to the playoffs less than Plummer.
That should show you that its a team game.
By the end of the '08 season, Shanahan was already fed up with Cutler.
Nice piece, well researched and delivered beautifully. I was a fan of Jake the Snake since his college days at ASU. Pat Tillman is a hero - RIP Thank you FlemLo for another one.
I've been watching you for a while now, don't think I ever commented before. Just wanna say I love how you do these. You treat everything and everyone with respect even the harder sadder stories. You kick ass. I miss the dreads but change is good. Looks nice. Thanks for all the awesome content
This story is a microcosm of knowing one's self and the acute understanding of how vital mental balance is to our lives. Good job FlemLo, another great video.
This is one of the most underrated comments I’ve ever seen. The wisdom in what you said is palpable.
@@Killacam1992 thank you so much for reading humble comment Cameron. 😊 so nice to know even the least intelligent can understand my message
That's right, good job. It's good to switch gears and also cultivate values. give back.
Jake was a stud in AZ. On some piss poor teams. I still remember when he first came in for the first time as a rookie, in Philly, on their own 1 yard line. And drove a stagnant Cardinals offense 99 yards for a TD. Also got AZ our first ever playoff birth and win in Dallas. Jake Plummer will always be one of my all time favorite Cardinals players.
Lol do n't mention that AZ vs DAL playoff win I was at that game very depressing good win for AZ
As a philly Eagle fan, I always respected and liked Jake

Jake Plummer is my spirit animal. Dude taught me there is more to life than work stress. Loved watching him with the Broncos. One of my favorite Broncos QBs
I've already watched this once, but like many of your content, I've watched again because they are so well done
It’s crazy how much Shannahan and Jake’s personalities clashed when their schemes and skill set matched so perfectly. I vividly remember being confused when the Broncos drafted Culltler. I saw it as a betrayal more than an investment in a high level prospect.
Then you guys got Peyton and Russel and realized what a waste of time those guys were
Older Mike Shanahan couldn't get along with many
Ya boy CJM Russel hasn’t played for the Broncos yet. Don’t ever jump the gun until you see it, you never know what’s going to happen.
No one ran that zone bootleg like Jake the Snake

Thank you for finally doing one on Jake Plummer. He was my favorite player growing up. That 2005 Broncos team was a great one.
13-3, 2nd seed in the AFC that year
Dude plummer do a bootleg to smith was something to watch he'd drop a 60 yard dime to smith

Your show's style is so good. I really look forward to watching each episode.

Flem, have you/will you do a video on Pat Tillman? Also, thank you for your Jamarcus Russell video a couple weeks ago. Seeing your video and then watching The Pivot! It gave me so much perspective!
Thanks for this insightful and uplifting profile of Jake The Snake Plummer. Another “banger” by one of the most consistently quality content creators on YT. Hey @Flemlo Raps, you’ve accomplished something no other YT creator has done in my decade + of heavy YT viewership. I didn’t click through ‘the poop advertisement’ and patiently, yet uncomfortably listened to the entire commercial for the algorithm and to support advertising on your channel! I can’t say I would do that for many creators or even friends. So, know you are doing something very right. Kudos!
Very well done; enjoyed the episode as it reveals a more personal journey for this man.
As a Broncos fan thanks for the content Flem. Miss those Shanahan days. Can you do a video on champ Bailey? He’s arguably the greatest or one of the greats but is hardly ever mentioned. All we hear about is Deion,Revis and Sherman but there’s a whole gap of an Era and that’s champs era!
How about a video on how Jordan Palmer became one of the most sought after NFL QB prospect coaches??
That was an awesome video! Thank you for making it.
Great video! Thanks, Flem!
Let me tell you something, sir. Your videos are very well thought out, and you have a way of presenting your information in such a way that is entertaining, but with heart.

Another great video! Idk how I just found your channel but this is the 7th video in a row that I’ve watched! You gained a new fan, new follower and new person hoping you get to the million followers mark. Because you deserve it!
Mushrooms changed my life for the better I would recommend them to anyone in the right mindset to take them. If you're looking to simply escape or party, mushrooms absolutely are not for you. I wouldn't recommend doing them around anyone you don't know or getting them from a source you're unsure about. It's best to do them out in nature but somewhere you feel safe. Have some headphones with some chill jams so you can block out any external noise that may distract you and all will be good. Embrace the journey and don't fight it when you start feeling weird or else you'll be miserable for the next 4 hours. Just some advice for anyone looking to dive into the world of mushrooms.
I recently tried some candy bar shrooms however I didn't really feel anything are there differences between legit mushrooms and the candy bar ones
Nah that thumbnail is crazyy💀
Great Vid. Keep up the good work Flem. Love it!
That was GREAT story telling thanks
Jake is NOT bottom tier. He was a really good QB that played on some shit teams.
I played at the same high school as Jake Plummer, and he called before every championship game we played. I moved to Idaho from Denver. I hold him in my short list of personal heroes. Dude is a great guy.
Thanks FlemLo. Great stuff
FlemLo! Another amazing video man. Such good stuff, I always enjoy your videos!
Great job! Love Jake the Snake. My youngest son looked like him when he was at ASU. Ironically, I'm a Bronco fan too! While Jake has forgiven Shanahan I haven't. He is way to egotistical! He never won anything without Elway! To me if you are a great coach you can win with at least a couple different QBs. Jake was great w Broncos he is my third favorite QB for Denver only behind Elway and Manning. But RW is so badass my guess is he will be number 4 in awhile. Most of all so darn happy he is happy!
Wilson is a tool. Maybe If the LOB comes back you’ll win something, but that clown isn’t half the human that Jake is.
