Look forward to seeing a good roofing project! Nice tip for rounded screws - I had a few screws like that when I was lifting boards in my loft, very frustrating!
That hole saw trick was brilliant 👍 Got me thinking you could probably just do it with the pilot bit still in, no need for the template. You’d probably have to use a slightly bigger hole bit so you could dodge the nail. (Have the nail in between the pilot and the teeth of the blade)
@@ukconstructionNo worries. I think it piqued me because I love plywood and really dislike OSB (Yes, I’m weird!!) but it was nit picking really. Thank you for all the other great tips and information- Happy times when you could work with decent plywood without a mortgage ??😂. Will be interesting to see what you put back. Hope you explain rationale (eg cost v weather resistance?) 👍
Hi Robin, I'm at the quote stage in replacing a 30 degree pitched roof on a 6.4m by 5.5m garage, with a valley attaching to the house roof on one side of the pitch and an abutment against wall on the other side of the pitch. The whole roof and frame need to come off and wall plate need replaced. It would just be steel going on nothing fancy. I'm getting quotes in the region £35000, could you give me some advice, I'm from Scotland
Huge respect to Nathan's knees of iron
And lungs of steel 😂
oh wow, really looking forward to this series, good to see you working with your chum, Nathan (aka smokey jo) good to see you working Robin.
Hope you enjoy!
I like the one with the hole saw 😊
You make everything look so easy! I wish all trades people had your level of professionalism.
Love that hole saw tip! thank you!!
Nice one Sam
Also works well for removing old skirting board fixed with cut nails. (Find the nails with a magnet)
@@kempshott great tip

Looking forward to next vid love hipped roofs, hopefully see your roofing square in action. Thumbs up 👍
Yes Karl, my square is featuring in some depth, thanks mate!!
With the cost of timber at the moment, absolutely a good idea to reuse as much as possible!
Lovely project, and lucky guy getting to learn from the master!
Many thanks!
looking forward to this one Boss !!!!
Nice one Robin, my type of chippy work, roofing of any form, where I started at 15 fromTech in Donegal

Is Ed still working for you? Robin don't recall seeing him lately stay safe and mostly stay strong!!
Absolutely, he is working on a property in Devon currently for his family and he is due back with me soon
@@ukconstruction ah wicked you seem a very good teacher, your experience is out of this world. Stay safe and mostly stay strong!!
Looking forward to seeing this one. Great video
Hope you enjoy it!
Great video............... Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
More speed less haste. Always worth while careful dismantling. Unscrewing not ripping out.
Happy days screwed doesn't look like it was down long
Robin before Euro 24 ! 😂. Got to be done ! ❤
I went out an hour earlier than I normally publish!! just to keep ahead of the game!!
Perfect timing as usual ! Well done mate 👍 great video, looking forward to the spire edition . ❤️
👍
FromTech to my first day as an apprentice, that is😊
Little less pressure on the Impact there Nathan…
You can tell which one works more on day rate
Nathan’s knees are like knee pads! 😮
until he kneels on a screw! 😫
He probably just feels a tickle if he does ! 😂
I know its boring but FFS put some pads on. Arthritis isn't much fun. I did some stupid things, if only I could wind the clock back...
Love your videos.
But but baffled on this one that you’ve referred to that material as plywood???
I tend to call OSB plywood!! Its a hangover from only using plywood when I started my apprenticeship!! Apologies!

Where's your knee pads Nathan....?
Great "hole cutter" tip Robin!
Was talking to one of my best mates he was telling me where he works they have a manager who's job is to solely make tjhings more sustainable.

Hi Robin, what happened to big Ed?
He is back soon!!!
First 😊
Yes you are!
@@ukconstruction I don’t know why I did it 😂 saw an opportunity
Get some knee pads, you look very uncomfortable.
Rob, How many lung burners did you second hand smoke while making this video ?
How many of us cried out when it looked like the drill was taking a fall. 🥲
it was super close!!!!!!!
