In the future I see Exo-Atmospheric Kill Vehicles that if something gets through we can a fire atmospheric rocket propelled vehicles and if it gets past that then Skynex then a literal cloud of endless drones with proximity devices and RPG’s with a shaped charge. If it gets past that then Boom. Ah dang.

Integrated into a layered defense system, hypersonic nuclear-tipped missiles can be defeated. High energy ground-based microwave lasers have been tested successfully against hypersonic targets. The anti-ballistic layer is well handled by kinetic missiles. The reliability of the Raytheon system is statistics that are classified.

These are designed to intercept incoming MIRV/MARVed warheads outside the atmosphere. Hypersonic missiles and glide vehicles would have to be intercepted in atmosphere by other systems that would be more capable and effective. And considering Russia doesn't seem to have any actual true hypersonic weapons the only ones to be worried about at this moment are China's so it's not that pressing a concern.

The video was very much abbreviated in describing what happened outside of Raytheon. The very first flight tests actually took place a year before Reagan was in office, in 1980, and were immediately ridiculed by the academically oriented press, but EKV got started as a major push under Reagan. Each success has been continually ridiculed, because it threatened to become a major expansion of the US military.
In spite of Congressional political opposition, Reagan, and Bush 41 got the tech to the point of being deployable in orbit as a "Global Protection Against Limited Strikes", or GPALS, in conjunction with the Russia Military in 1992, with negotiators for a treaty I spoke with in 2000 telling me they were 6 months from a signable treaty in January of 1993. Then in January of 1993, the entire treaty and program were dropped by the new Administration, without even bothering to tell the Russians. This insulted the Russian Military so badly that the resentment started inside the Kremlin the "Great Russia Faction", which eventually became the core of the Party led by Vladimir Putin by 1999.
Since then, Bush 43 started programs that revived the tech for ground-launched EKV, even under restrictions in the program Clinton had agreed to that made it unusable against 1998 Russian decoy technology. It was barely operational by 2008. The next academic Party Administration failed to kill it entirely, but did cancel the "Multiple Kill Vehicle" to placate Russia and China, because it was designed to deal with decoys. This was then revived in 2018 with the Ageis System, and is in danger under the new academic Party Administration.
For me it's a sad trip down memory lane, ... that I still *hope* can have a happy ending.

Anyway, I was absolutely sure we had some kind of anti-satellite vehicles up there. I thought they would be ballistic, so these vectoring kinetic killers are pretty impressive, even for someone who assumed these things were up there. There must be many hundreds, both defensive and offensive, I’m guessing.
