Heard this in an episode of 'I Think You Should Leave'. Even though it appeared in a ridiculous sketch comedy show, it was still very moving. I had to look it up. Beautiful stuff.
RIP Margo. One of my favorite songwriters/composers/producers. Not only did she perform these hauntingly beautiful songs, she also wrote for, produced and taught many other artists. One of the greats!
Me too! It helped me open up on a deeper level I never had before. It made me realize that lately all I've been talking about is my kids, but there's so much more to live for!
Wanted to say that this is a brilliant fan made video. The song is awesome, the movie choice perfect, editing wonderful, and the actress Janet Margolin even resembles Margo. Kudos.
Did not know this artist before and am really taken aback. It sounds very contemporary. The video together with the song makes it even more fascinating.
damn didn’t even realize it was her song that was featured on my favorite sketch from I Think You Should Leave Season 3. so late for the train i started becoming a fan right after she passed. Love Songs has been on my rotation. Such a beautiful soul, RIP Margo ❤❤
I was thinking of leaving There was no one around here I wanted to know Then I saw someone who happened to remind me of Bein' in love a long time ago I know and you know That we never met before tonight Why then should I feel so right About being in your arms Mmmm You're feeling good to me now And I don't want to go Your lips are warm and familiar And you feel like someone I know
Is there anything interviews with this amazing person I would really love to see her I discovered Ms Guryan's music nine years ago and I've enjoyed everything I've heard by far that's rare for any artist I like but she definitely won me over big time because she reminds me of myself in my younger years writing songs and singing etc.
@@TheLoon I watched it many times when you posted it. Watched it again this morning and was charmed again. There's a powerful poetic beauty in the editing of images and music. The video transcends the music of Bach/Guryan totally. It adds an emotional poignant dimension to it. Having watched it so many times I can no longer hear Guryan's song without visualizing the images with it.
It's in the description under the video: "Footage from the 1962 film 'David And Lisa', directed by Frank Perry and starring Keir Dullea and Janet Margolin"
It wouldn't be too long afterwards that that young fella had trouble dealing with a smart-arse computer, decades before the rest of us found much the same.

same here ! Love the vibe!
Ditto! Took me 4 seconds to know that I liked the song.
Same! Never heard of the song or even the artist and now I'm a huge fan. Thanks, Tim et al!
Which sketch
@@foundthingsifoundI believe it's the birthday party sketch with Steven Yeun.
The Resort sent me here. The song and the Philadelphia Museum of Art back in the day make for a haunting trace of a memory.

I see the world wildly and in wild ways.
I really love this song. And I have a retro-crush on Margo Guryan ❤
I’m always a sucker for someone who marches into my life like they own the place, walks up to me and points, “you! You’re the one I’m interested in.”
🖤
I'm just discovering this artist. She's amazing. Needs to be said -- she is using Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". Very nice!
Definitely resembles Bach's tune...
@@bowie761 it’s note for note the same
I’m just discovering her too and asking all my older kinfolk and friends why I’ve never been made aware of her. 😊
“Needs to be said” 😆… go through the Beatles and Stones and other bands and see what they “borrowed” DIRECTLY from classical influences.
Drums are outstanding... You can tell it's a pro jazz drummer
Margo's session drummer was Hal Blaine - check out his album called 'Have fun! Play Drums!'
@@stompinknowledge3968 thanks for the tip - from across time!
Today I am sad beyond words. RIP Margo.
Tim Robinson brought me here,,, love ITYSL

Just found this artist/song/ video.
Wow wow wow. So powerful
Did not know this artist before and am really taken aback. It sounds very contemporary. The video together with the song makes it even more fascinating.
I had to read the Wikipedia Bio and Discography several times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming🤓
Was für ein wunderbarer Song!
Could easily be hit again...sounds like it was recorded yesterday, just a shame it's so short
R.I.P. sweet Margo

great choice of footage for the song
Bach sample is from Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, for any who's interested. Most of us probably know it as Christmas music from radio and tv ads
Finally! I've been seeing this video for months on last.fm and wondering where the clips were taken from, now I finally found it here.
Wonderful.
Descanse em paz, vc era linda!!
This song makes me realize I've brought enough hurt into the world by taking my son to the zoo where he shot the gorilla
"The screwballs are ruining the town! The screwballs are ruining the town!"

I agree. This video along with the music is profoundly moving

Anyone know the name of the sculpture used in the film ostensibly at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I wonder if it’s still there.
Hello, are there any song similar to this one?
