Rubber duckie your the one is actually from Sesame Street in 1970. My little sister was born in 1975 and had record ( vinyl) she played repeatedly and annoyed us to no end..😂

Now I know what to do with extra potatoes - time for dehydrated hash browns! Thanks!

How long do the dehydrated potatoes last? Thank you

The longest we've had dehydrated potatoes on our shelf-and still enjoyed eating them-was 2 years. (We generally cycle through them every year.) When sufficiently dry and stored in a vacuum sealed Mason jar, they won't spoil in the traditional sense. They will simply degrade in quality and nutrients over time. Hope that helps! :)

Once you have them dehydrated, do you put them jars with an oxygen absorber or do you put them in Ziploc bags. how long do they last? thank you for showing this. It’s gonna be a big help.

I vacuum seal them in Mason jars. 🙂 But using an oxygen absorber is a good alternative, too. I wouldn’t store in Ziplock bags as they’re too porous. Enjoy those yummy taters! ❤️

THAT is the one thing I hate the most about growing food in Florida, potatoes. I was used to just chucking tater pieces in the ground, hilling them twice and boom 💥 enough food to keep your tummy full. Its so hot down here potatoes are one of those crops that you have to get "just right". 🤦‍♀️
Sweet potatoes grow like weeds down here but regular potatoes😜
I plant them in mid-december and hope it stays cool enough for them to finish. Red potatoes are the ones that work best so far. They rot less if it gets warm at the end. One year I had some that had started to sprout when I dug them up! As I stood there covered in dirt (I rival Pigpen for getting dirty) looking disgusted at the already sprouting potatoes, my husband said, "Sweet potatoes it is, then!" 😆

Oh no!! I hate to laugh at your potato woes, but you have a fun way of telling stories that makes me chuckle. 🤭
