Note: If shooting cinematic and lowering the shutterspeed on your camera, it affects the stabilization of the video, so you definitely want to use a gimbal with your camera. Currently, for the GoPro Hero 9/10, I recommend either the Inkee Falcon or Hohem iSteady Pro 4 (comparison video of the two is coming soon).
That will be interesting - in my experience you need stabilisation on with the Falcon anyway, so there could still be issues with ND filters. For most viewers I suspect that they would notice issues with stabilisation first, issues with motion blur second.
If you could make a video about this issue that would be great, I have noticed this issue on both my 9 and 10 but no other reviews have talked about this. I noticed I only didn’t get the wobble when shooting 120fps and 240 shutter but if I go to 60fps 120 shutter it comes back.
The ND filters apparently mess with stabilization on the action and go pro so alot of people are not recommending them .
i use my gimbal all the time. i don't leave home without it lol :)

Another awesome video (as always). I shoot mostly inside. Cinematic videography for local businesses to showcase what they do on Instagram reels. I love the cinematic look. Do you suggest one of these or the anamorphic lens? Or just leave the standard gopro lense since it’s indoors and not usually a lot of sunlight. (I don’t have a gimbal either)
Experiment with both and see which look you prefer. If you shoot a lot indoors, I’d recommend investing in a gimbal first.

I always enjoy your videos they're very informative. Probably amongst the most informative. Had a hero 8 where I had ND filters and really didn't use them that much. Got the new GoPro 11 and I'm starting to receive my free well nd filters and circular polarizer...question if i may... Since it's predicted that the motion reduction in the GoPro will not work that well with ND filters on. Would using a gimbal be of any benefit or just Overkill?

Are the freewell polarising ND combo filters still waterproof as the polarising ring that turns makes me wonder if it is??

Excellent video. I have the Hero 10 and shoot mostly on water in bright sunlight both video and photo. I don't like fooling around with the settings much and pretty much stick with Protunes and make a few tweaks. Question is it still worth attaching an ND filter?
ND filter helps if shooting in ultra bright conditions, but we don't use them much here in Seattle.

Trial and error. Depends on the lighting conditions.
I ordered the nd filters for my GoPro 9. All my footage is outside in sunny south Florida. I have one concern. From what I’ve read, the hyper smooth doesn’t work with the nd filters ( because of the low light). I’ve seen people with terrible looking footage just from walking with the GoPro with them on. It seems the only way to get decent shots is to have it on a gimbal when using the nd filters? Have you had these issues? Thanks in advance. As always, love your videos.

After watching your video, I purchased the Gopro Max Lens Mod. On sunny or bright days I have issues w/ the lighting & coloring of the videos.
What would you recommend for the Max? Does the Max Lens have any filters/ film to put on or are there settings I can use to get better pictures?
As far as I know there are no filters available for the Max Lens Mod.
Nowhere online can I find out what ND filters work with the Hero 11 Media Mod in place. Any suggestions??
Free well and PolarPro both make great ND filters for GoPro. The ones made for the Hero 9 and 10 will work with the 11.

I presume you can't use the Action 2 filters around water without risk of the gap between the filter and the camera glass filling up with water. Is that correct?

It should give you the quality of video that you recorded it in.

They work with the Media Mod. Cannot confirm waterproofing.
Be careful on the Hero 10, if you lower the shutter speed to much HyperSmooth becomes less effective. I usually just go with CPL on my Hero 10. Great review, and thanks for sharing.
Yes, this is true and why we also use a gimbal with the GoPro if shooting in cinematic settings.

ND 32 is the strongest ND filter out there. You said? You’re sure about that?
The strongest of this package. I have an ND 100, so it definitely gets stronger than 32.
