😂❤
I added sugar to the yeast to make sure it activates, and at hour and 30 minute mark, my dough was huge that it was falling out of the bowl. I was so happy about it cause it was fluffy!!!
How much sugar?
@@ronsauls8305 a teaspoon is enough to activate it
Wow yes I did this and it turned out amazing
Thanks for this tip!
I didnt even add sugar and mine quadrupled in size
For those without a covered pot that can go in the oven, throw about six ice cubes on the bottom of the oven to create steam. It will give a good crust.
That's a good tip an oven safe bowl/pan with some water will work too if you don't have ice
Do you think you could use a pot but put aluminum foil on for the first half, then remove it for the 2nd?
Doing this prevents bread from turning out nice and crusty@@dianelee7471
A bowl of water makes more sense than having water all over the bottom
Of your oven
@@nualamcgowan5842 yeah, i use a small shallow aluminum pan
I'm over 60 and I've never made bread before. But I love crusty rustic bread with all my soups and stews, so I'm definitely going to try this recipe.
I see the comments are great.
Thank you!
I love that too I am now learning how to make it. How was it for you?

It's delicious and easy to make. I've made it 3-4 times. I will continue to make it.
I'm so glad I found this recipe.

Careful with the good intentions, the road to hell is paved with them.😜
This turned out wonderful!! I can’t believe I made a nice loaf of bread finally!!! Thank you!
I make this all the time but I prefer it with 2 tsp of salt. I love it with diced fresh jalapeños and cheddar cheese folded in. You can add any herbs or seasonings you like. It’s much easier if you place it on parchment paper for the final 30 min rest and use it to transfer paper and all into the heated Dutch oven.
This is a totally different recipe. Why don't you start your own website.
When do you add your extra ingredients? Herbs or cheese?
@@donnie420ish I add them when you first take it out of the bowl after it rises. I flatten it a bit and then add a layer and fold it over. Then flatten it again and add another layer and fold it over again. Then shape it it a ball and let it rest for the half hour it takes your Dutch oven to heat up while your oven is coming to temp. This same recipe is all over UA-cam. Videos show it being done with all kinds of herbs.
@@donnie420ishyou can also add them to the flour and mix in before adding the water.
Eu não tenho esta panela que pena
How refreshing to see someone who realises that watching someone else laboriously chop each and every sliver of garlic, cut potatoes into chunks, the way you filmed this was brilliant It has inspired me to have a go a your recipe and subscribe to your channel, hope you are still up and running.

This bread turned out amazing. I’m from Mongolia 🇲🇳 and will be using this recipe forever
If you place the final shaped dough on parchment paper, it's easier (and safer) to transfer it to the hot baking dish. This is a good recipe.

Making my 1st ever bread with your recipe. So far so good. In the oven soon. Turned out beautiful! San Diego, California)
Made this today and was successful!! After a few bread fails, I needed this win 😅 I did end up adding more water (didn’t measure, but prob about 1/2cup more) and wished I had done more salt, but other than that it came out beautifully!!
I made this today and the bread is delicious!
Which flour do we need to use ??
i will do it today 🎉
From Brisbane Australia. Worked great weighing ingredients and adding a bit of water or flour to get the right consistency. Appreciate a video with just the recipe and how to make it without unnecessary banter. 😅
It is 1 tea spoons of dry yeast
Great Recipe!! I had been looking for something easy to cook and this was just the thing I needed. It was very fun and easy to make. Perfect for a lazy day! There were a various amount of stages to complete but overall pretty easy! This was my first time ever making bread and I was a bit nervous that I'd mess it up, thankfully it turned out great and my family loves it.

First time making bread and it was very easy! Tasty too :)
What flour did you use?
@@kaydenbaxter6034 plain 'ol enriched white all-purpose flour.
If you interrupt the proofing 2-3 times during that period, and fold the bread over itself, while keeping it in the bowl, the bread will rise slightly higher, have more air pockets and not be as tight.
Watching from New Zealand. Waiting to try it. Thanks and God bless.

I used this recipe. My mother loved the bread! Will definitely use this recipe again😊
First try, very easy and delicious. Thank you so much.
Is there a typo in the recipe for the amount of yeast? I used 2 Tbsp and it was way too much. The bread came out extremely heavy and dense. I was using the packets of instant yeast and so each one is about a tbsp so I used 2. Can you clarify what type of yeast and exactly the amount used? I also used bread flour so not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks.
I think the packets are 1.5 TB so double check that because if you use 2 then you put 3 TB.
Packets are instant, I believe she used regular
Use scales and make sure you got 7 grams should be enough, 10g for a small loaf is overkill
Fiz o meu hoje ficou ótimo já até comi um pedaço com manteiga uma delícia, arrasouuu 🎉🎉🎉
Olá!! Estou muito feliz que você gostou!
Nice and easy . Am re-starting to bake again! - from the Philippines
looks good and easy! thanks❤
Thank you! ❤❤❤
I used bread flour and I really think that this recipe should be cut back to 3 cups of flour to the 1 1/2 cups of water ratio because mine was way heavy on the flour at 4 cups. I will try this recipe a few more times just to see what works best for me. Thank you for posting. you made a lovely video.
I added a little bit more of water
I make a similar recipe with 3 c of flour to 1.5 c of water and still have to add water to get the sticky consistency.
You do need to add a tiny bit of water to obtain the right dough consistency, however the instructions are correct. Otherwise, it would be too easy to end up with overly sticky dough. It's all about learning the optimal "feel" of the dough. I also add about one tbsp olive oil to mine. ❤ Love this recipe!
Yes I tried 4 cups and it was too much flour dough was to dry with 4 cups
Reminds me of a nursery rhyme of my time

I'm from Cornwall in South West England. This is the simplest recipe for "quick bread" I have ever seen. Fingers crossed it turns out as magnificent as your pictures portray. Where in Germany do you come from ? I have 1 comment to make. - mention turning on the oven to 220 C earlier in the making process, so that the oven has enough time to reach the required heat to cook the dough. I always allow perhaps 20 minutes to get the oven to the correct temperature. Apart from that, your recipe method is perfect. Later this week, I will have time in a day to make this. Bye......
Hello! Thank you very much I am very pleased! I'm from Serbia!
You are right, this is a correct remark!

🥰🥰🥰🥰
you got to love how the title is. "no knead bread" and then you proceed to knead the heck out of it.
That is not kneading the heck out of it.
That is folding not kneading. Guess it does the same thing though.
That's definitely not kneading at all
You've never kneaded before :p.
Shut up
That is a good, simple recipe. I made bread using a similar recipe, but I like this one even better, so I will be trying it. My only criticism-a very mild one-is that the “turning over” of the dough was a lot more than “once or twice.”
Thanks from Paris.
Great recipe. First try and it looks awesome. At first glance not very different from what you get at the bakery. Golden on top, super crusty outside, soft and bouncy inside.
I would agree with some of the comments suggesting less yeast (it kiiinda smells a little) and more salt (tastes a little plain for my liking). But that's a great basis.
I did knead a little because I had time and wanted to try.
I don't have a cast iron pot so went for those thinner elongated ones you cook meat in.
Thanks to you, I now have the confidence to carry on and improve on that basis, although it's close to perfect.
Be blessed
Sou do Brasil muito bom aprender..😊
Olá!! Estou contente por te ver!
Hello… I think you meant to say two teaspoons not tablespoons. First time making bread and I used 2 TBSP and my bread came out smelling of yeast and was so dense! I’m trying again today with 2 teaspoons of yeast.
How did it go with tsps?
I'm thinking the same. I've never used 2 Tbs. of yeast for any bread.
I think the recipe has a typo because 10 grams is approximately 2 teaspoons
Nice video

Wow looks perfect
We are from Texas USA, new to making bread with only a few loafs under our belt. This was easy but we had to adjust it a little bit. It says 2 TBSP or 10g yeast. 10g of yeast is 2.5 tsp. We used 2.5 g active dry yeast and it turned out fine. I think next time we will use less flour maybe 3 to 3.5 cups of unbleached all purpose flour. All in all it was very easy to make and delicious!
