@@MichaelDG2023I agree and disagree with this. A period is normal and shouldn’t me censored in my opinion. Something that happens to every girl is normal, not gross or disgusting.
Censurship makes a lotta sense doesn't it. The word "abuse" is going to upset the advertisers, but real deal honest abuse is a okay. Really goes to show where to yt's priorities are
@@ExistenceUniversityA right is also there to establish that it's illegal to not let you access it. Taking food away from children is not respecting their right to food (which is a right children have by the Convention of Children's Rights) A parent refusing to feed their child is not respecting their rights
@@lilbread1717 No that's not correct because food is not a right for ALL the reasons I just explained. Child neglect is illegal, not feeding your child is neglect. It's not illegal because of a "right to food". Watch your argument crumble: "A right is there to establish that it's illegal to not let you access it" Ok so I open a restaurant and you demand free food. If I don't give you free food, am I now committing a crime for not letting you access my food? What if a child comes to my restaurant? Is it a crime now because it's a child? No. It's not illegal for me to charge money and decide who can eat in my restaurant, it's my property which I do have a right to as I earned the property through work and action. Just because it is illegal to do not do X, does not mean that it's a right to do X. That's not how logic or political rights work.
@@water6006 i'd say you cannot post your chid on social media until their like 12 because when your 12/teenager you have a bigger idea of consent and such. and also you cannot record your kids private areas at any age. and i think that the family idea is a good one and i think that could also include close friends!
Idk what it’s like in other states but in the (American) state I live in, people fostering to adopt can’t post any pictures of their kids until they’re a year old and the adoption is fully completed.
I’m still disgusted by the fact that Austin took his then 4-year-old daughter into Spencers (an adult toy store) and bought her a lollipop shaped like a p*nis. WTAF DUDE????
I sent your video to my sister because she had her first kid a few years ago and has been basically vlogging her every goddamn move ever since. This video really made her see a side she never thought about and now she's stopped and deleted her vids (kept them for herself of course as memories but they're not public anymore). Thank you for explaining this in a way I couldn't.
It does violate the EU GDPR to film kids under 15 in non-public spaces, however most of these channels are not in the EU and they're also parents, which unfortunately means that they have the say in what the child wants and consents to.
I remember once reading about a family vlogger (I can't remember which one) who said why she stopped doing it. She noticed from her analytics that she had quite a few middle aged men watching the videos and then found out that her videos were being embedded on ped websites. Once she turned off the toggle that allows videos to be embedded on other websites, her view counts absolutely plummetted. She realised how much of the audience was peds and was absolutely horrified and stopped making videos straight away.
Oh my god that is what I always suspected. I watch them only to overcome my phobia of emetophobia (vomiting) and even found it perplexing that people blogged or vlog children having stomach bugs.
Tbh that is very naive. If you have cute kids and/or show their skin and/or show them in intimate settings, this _will_ happen. The bar is very low for that. Things that are totally fine in public, may not be online. Wear a short skirt, and they'll watch it hoping to catch a glimpse underneath. Lie under a blanket, and they'll watch it fantasizing about having them in their bed. Teenage girls on youtube understand this, and make use of it, and as a parent you ought to know this as well (and obviously _not_ make use of it).
I almost had a mental breakdown as a kid just from my sister telling her boyfriend about my first period. I can't even imagine it being blasted to pedos across the whole damn world.
Especially if your gonna show everybody there underwear’s and pads there gonna wear too im too embarrassed to even stand in the underwear isles with my mom to find my size I can’t imagine thousands of people knowing such information and my mom just showing them my underwear they decided to buy for me it makes me feel weird inside knowing that there’s parents who are willing to do that
It breaks my heart to hear about the family that gave up on the autistic kid they adopted because he was "too difficult." I'm autistic, and I already felt awful for being "different" growing up- I can't imagine how awful it must be to be completely given up on like that for something I can't control. Not to mention, autistic people often struggle with changes in environment; that poor kid had to move into their home and right back out in such quick succession. That must have been horrible.
I'm autistic too and the things they did to that boy were terrible, I'm honestly glad he got out because it honestly was abusive. They even called his meltdowns "temper tantrums" and put tape over his hands so he wouldn't flap them as much. Terrible people.
If anything they should have known better, most parents with neurodivergent children go into it without the knowledge of their childs diagnosis and have little time nor resources to accommodate, they adopted him knowing he had several disabilities and had the resources and money to take care of him but they still treated him so poorly
Being well versed into helping different kids yeah not giving up during those early years really helps out the child. My brother had therapists and stuff that gave up on him but we never did. He's excelled and is about to graduate college.
Don't blame me that's bullshit I had no part in this, I hate children and don't watch stuff involving them. I'm pretty sure it's much more targeted to women, I don't know what the appeal of such content is
Trigger warning of child abus3: my mom was a CPS worker for almost 20 years and she tells me stories that haunt me as an adult of where cps would just brush off extreme abuse and she would plead for them to step in faster and 15 TIMES in these instances.. the kids ended up dead before a case was even opened
wow that clip of her threatening to cut off the head of her daughter's doll is just pure evil. chills ran down my spine. that's truly some cold hearted, psychopathic shit. she clearly enjoyed the distress she caused.
Those kids are gonna leave and never return. I couldn't imagine. I STILL have my favorite teddy bear given to me when I came to the United States. I was 8, I am 53 now and it still means so much to me. I would never speak to my mother again if she did something that cruel.
I think it's especially sad that the other kid said "Grandma will be so mad". Like those kids are constantly thinking about the reaction of others rather than how the recipient of the abusive behaviour feels. People pleasers in the making.
Here in Germany everyone has "the right to their own picture" (literally translated) which means you can't just film someone without their consent and/or post it. Your children can't consent. This is something we learned at school in like 5th grade. Telekom recently made an add warning parents not to publicise their children on the internet because it's not safe. It's one of the main reasons I'm glad not to live in America.
And yet there are numerous German family vlogging channels, mum vloggers/instagrammers, and teen vloggers. Alicia Joe has done some really good videas about that and the dangers involved, liked being able to find out names and addresses and where some of the photos and videos end up and who downloads them. She also goes into the legal aspects and that there's no real protection for kids being in youtube videos. Not like there's for child actors.
Yes, what is even more harmful though imo are all of those people who have no issue with posting pictures of their kids/grandkids as their WhatsApp status. Message from Ella is a really powerful advertisement and should be sent to every person who just posts pictures online of minors
The part where Ruby threatened to cut the little girl’s stuffed animal’s head off, killed me because I remember whenever my stuffed animals got even a tear, I would be devastated, and my mom was so kind to stitch them back up for me. I can’t imagine what those poor babies had to go through just because of their greedy parents. Hope they can recover well.
my family would do the same stuff for me lol, i was always super attached to my toys as a kid. this one duck plush i have summarizes it best. i would accidentally rip a hole under her wing pretty frequently from flapping it too hard, and my mom would sew it back together. one time i thought i lost her for good, i was completely devastated, and my dad bought me a different duck. we found the original, but i remember when he brought me the new duck i felt a little better at least. and then one time i dropped the duck at the zoo into a restricted area, and my older sister quickly snuck in and retrieved it for me (and somehow didn't get caught). if they had done the exact opposite of these things, i'd probably still hate them to this day. thank god my family consists of normal people who actually care about me and don't see me as a tool to be used for their own personal gain.
CPS rarely does its job properly. Kids who need the help get left with their parents and those whose families just need a little guidance end up having their kids taken
my mum's a kindergarten teacher and she's already seeing the effects of it in the kids she teaches. she has a few mums who are Insta influencers and the way the kids pose for the camera, it's like they've been trained (cause they most likely have). even things like their first day of school are being turned into an "instagrammable moment" - it's not a genuine parent-child connection and that's heartbreaking
@@asimplemoth5342 I wonder if it's because his parents are UA-camrs or if he watches too much UA-cam. As I have seen young kids watch videos well their parents shop.
@@asimplemoth5342 I wouldn't say that's a clear sign of the family channels since when I was young me and my friends would also say that kind of stuff as like a joke-like mocking those cringe yt vids.
[Trigger warning:talking about what its like being a person of a similar thing]As the product of a very similar thing i can confirm how mentally damaging this stuff is,never knowing if theres a camera watching you for a 'prank', getting in trouble when you do something wrong you didnt know was wrong,s3xual comment being made whenever for what feels like no reason, being shamed by your father with a phone in his face when you grab a second helping, developing an eating disorder when your 7 because your too 'fat' and being severely underweight your entire childhood, being used to promote a brand that went bankrupted, your mother making your father finally get you a therapist, after 2 months of therapy your father pulls you out because they threatened to call CPS. I hope theres more laws soon bc what i went through no one else should
Gosh, I hope you've been able to get yourself to therapy since then. That sounds absolutely horrible. I wouldn't wish that sort of pain on my worst enemy.
Sending you so much love. 😢I’m sorry they did that to you. I hope you are on the road to healing and brighter days. Something seriously needs to change :(
Your therapist did you wrong by threatening to call CPS. They're mandated reporters. They aren't supposed to give a warning. They're just supposed to call. I'm so sorry that everyone who was meant to protect you failed you so badly.
I actually genuinely worry about that Ryan kid who went from toy reviews to a Nickelodeon show, books, merchandise, his own toys, and a huge amount of fame. It's wild when I'll be looking for toys or clothes or anything for my kid and see his face plastered on EVERYTHING. I really hope that there's at least SOMEONE looking out for that kid.
Right pretty much since he came out her vaj there were making him play with toys. Doesn't he have sisters and now is their turn to be the money makers :/ Them parents ain't right in the head
The twin sisters never took off the way Ryan did. One thing about that family I will say is that they used a fake last name from the start and didnt vlog regular family time. It was always theme videos and the closest I ever saw them “family vlogging” was sponsored vacations. The little kid still had more than a full time job from the time he was 2 tho and thats not ok.
Yeah man my little brother watches him and the channels he's associated with and honestly I get SUCH bad vibes from them for some reason, I haven't heard of anything happening but I just don't trust it... :(
They are actually the only children I will let my child watch as he has made it so big the laws now affect him and safe guard his “well being” , I don’t think he is doing great by any means I do think his parents are trying to be responsible about it
I used to watch Sis vs Bro, and now that they’ve grown up and I’ve grown up, they started talking about how they felt the constant pressure taht if they didn’t act happy and energetic and devote all their time to UA-cam, they couldn’t pay the bills. These kids suffered so much
As an online grooming victim, family channels have always made me feel really uncomfortable because it is so easy to accidentally cater to creeps online. I've had to make a rule for myself not to post online because as soon as i did I'd get my dms flooded with people trying to get with me
Holy shit I knew family channels could be bad but I didn't realize it was this bad. I only really heard about the spoiled kid with all the toys. Didn't realize it was so deep with the mom who vlogged abusing and neglecting her kids and the people who decided not to adopt because they couldn't film them in the first year. Absolutely fucking wild.
What angry me is that they could still talk about their adoption story and the pros and cons of their everyday life without sacrificing the privacy of the child. I seen channels that talk about their fostering experiences without showing the child's face or identifiable information and still be entertaining. Their thought process is just disgusting.
I've never, like ever talked to my mum when I got my period, she shames me for it. There's a reason why. SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M UNCOMFORTABLE TALKING ABOUT FEMALE PUBERTY GUESS WHY Because I'm trans.
There was a new kid at my school awhile ago who clearly lacked social skills, but she was the sweetest person ever. She had been homeschooled her entire life until that year, but was transferred back to homeschooling for a “better english program.” I found out later that her family did actually have a family friendly christian channel…. And she was taken out of the school right when we started the unit on a book including SA? I also noticed that even though she wasnt big by any means, she always seemed to be wearing a hidden corset in the videos? She was noticeably thinner on camera than in person. Theres nothing I can do to help her, and its always so unnerving checking on their videos every once in awhile to see people praising how good a family they are in the comments. I havent talked to her since she was put back on homeschooling. I hope shes doing well :[
i remember having a friend like that in middle school, her family would post pics of her online and stuff 24/7 (and she always looked incredibly tired and just not doing good online and in person) and it was really concerning. she moved away but we still talk online sometimes, she’s doing better now but still people like her parents make me feel sick.
One thing you could do that might help her even just a little bit is that if you guys were friends in school you could reach out again and let her know that you know what's going on. You can't make it stop, but you might be able to make her feel less alone in it. I had quite a shit situation at home growing up _(not related to family channels, it was concerning a parents mental and physical health which led them to alcoholism. I don't wanna get into it, but they're doing much better now so no need to worry)_ It was a situation i had no power to change, that i couldn't get out of, and that people outside our family didn't really know about. Just having someone show that they see me and understand what i'm going through would've meant the world to me. There is some comfort in having your pain be known even if it doesn't go away
some people don't know how to raise children. there are kids who surpass college level education and excel in socialization in homeschool. it's all on parents' shoulders.
I think CinnamonToastKen and MatPat are a great example of doing things right. Ken used to have a vlog showing his wife and kids but took it down and now only mentions his family in conversation and maybe one of his kids shows up in a video every now and then. MatPat talks about his son and he occasionally shows up in videos but neither he or Ken’s kids are the focus of their channels. I know neither of them are family channels but I still think it’s a good example for others to follow
Real, or Moriah Elizabeth where whenever she shows her kid she blurres the kids face and doesn’t even give her name. Instead, refers to her as ‘Mini-Me’ (bc her initials are ME lol so it’s like Mini Mariah Elizabeth)
"There wasn't enough of a case to build off" There's literally FOOTAGE of her bragging about taking one of her son's bedroom and sending him to a really shady boot camp, and hoping that nobody gives her daughter food because she forgot to make her own lunch, and so much more! Why did the authorities take so long to step in?!? Amazing video! I really like your editing style
From what I heard, if everything was fine when cps or the cops came to the house (or if nobody opened the door), they would drop it. They never looked at the videos
The US has not codified the UN child rights convention into law and it Shows. It's also one of the reasons in some States It's still legal that your child will get hit as discipline in schools. I guess that plays also where the whole "my kids are my property" perception some US parents have, while in the rest of the world (and it's not an exaggeration, all other countries have codified it into law by now) has a base standard on children's rights.
As someone who worked with CPS on the issue of my Nephew, half the time, they have no authority to do anything. They're not police, they cant break down doors. Basically all they can do is ask if everything is alright and then move on if someone says Yes. Unless they have rock solid VISUAL evidence. Not something said on a video (they could claim it was a joke) and not something a neighbor/teacher/friend said (it's hearsay). My nephew's mom had two counts of child abuse from her previous kids (broke one of their arms), her house smelled like a pot house mixed with a manure factory, had literally animal feces all over, no food in the fridge and CPS couldn't do anything because technically none of those things are visual indications of current abuse. My nephew had burns on his arms and there was nothing they could do because she claimed it was from a campfire.
Because children are sadly viewed as property and choosing not to feed them or give them a bed is acceptable behavior so long as there's plenty of food in the house and the child isn't underweight. We have so many cases of severe physical abuse that CPS can't handle the extreme emotional abuse some parents are doling out. We all know that she was setting those kids up to have severe eating disorders later in life, but that's not viewed as a problem in the US. What the US allows 'parents' to get away with is disgusting. It's not the fault of CPS that they are stopped from acting unless very specific forms of physical abuse or neglect are happening. And some US states, especially the southern ones, still allow pretty extreme forms of physical abuse too with no repercussions. As long as you call it 'spanking' it's fine to beat your kid with your bare hand. Nevermind that an adult can cause extreme damage to a child with their bare hand, doesn't matter, it was a 'spanking' and the child probably deserved it.
I got ripped apart when I commented on a video of JessFam that she shared too much of her kids. At the time she had this super inappropriate title about Lilia’s seggsuality iirc, but somehow _I_ was the weirdo for being concerned about her privacy. Actual mothers were telling me to stfu because I’m not a mom so I don’t know what’s best for children. None of them saw the irony and tragedy in that comment. I’m so glad more people are pushing back against this bs, because I agree: a lot of these channels started out with probably the right intentions, but by now they’re all sellouts.
I used to like jesss but one of her ig posts was of her in yoga pants twerking on a table with her daughter. that creeped me out so bad that I had to unfollow. why would anyone do that to their young child and the post it? 🤢
I liked when you brought up how even when kids "consent" to being posted, they aren't actually. I was posted a lot as a kid on social media and I gave my permission but knowing what i know now, i never would have allowed it. great video!!
Absolutely! I was always excited because I love(d) taking photos. But it isn’t possible to really understand what the internet IS when you’re a child. The platforms themselves require you to be at least a preteen and even that is being examined because of the legitimate esteem issues affecting them. Simply having my loved ones, smiley and “asking” me if I was okay being shown + ignorance to the world/internet made it easy to just agree…
I completely understand that that was your situation, but please don't generalize. There are kids who would understand the consequences of giving consent to this.
@nevahouven5684 hm, was this your experience? Totally fine if the case but Law requires that level of generalization as children cannot begin to conceptualize ownership of their body, image, or memories let alone “allowing” it to be shared… I would look into Alyson Stoner’s deep dive into child stardom. It’s a really great ongoing series
@@annieothername I do agree that a parent posting their child's life on *the parent's own monetized* channel is not okay, regardless of whether the child consents or not, since that's basically using your child for profit. However, I simply believe that saying a child is always necessarily unable of considering the consequences of any of their actions is degrading. Yes, children lack life experience, which is why they need parents to help them in their decisions. But society nowadays no longer treats children as their own independent human beings. Currently, we make assumptions about children's cognitive capability simply as a result of their age and ignore any exceptions to those assumptions, which I believe is wrong. I think that yes, filming your child for profit should not be legal regardless, but I just wanted to point out that in my opinion we should give children more of a say than they currently do in society. I personally disagree that law requires that assumption. As I've mentioned before, I don't think family channels are okay or should be legal in the slightest. I just think the law, as well as society, should be more considerate of children's own thoughts, feelings, and decisions, because currently, that is almost never taken into account, and anything a child themselves thinks or decides is often simply brushed off with a "you can't consent, you're a child." Children are their own human beings. Yes, we should guide them since they lack experience and hence knowledge, but we shouldn't make degrading assumptions about them and completely disregard their own opinions and decisions. Also, to clarify, when it comes to child stardom, I am not defending that at all. I don't think we should be putting kids on the spotlight 24/7 and therefore forcing them to create content. I'm simply stating the fact that nowadays a lot of people just assume that children basically can't think, and I consider that ageism.
Hello everyone, I have made a huge mistake in this video. I was completely unaware of the shay family’s channel name being a play on words with the R- slur. I do not know how this is something I was unaware of and did not pick up on as strange when saying the name out loud. I have made many cuts to the video where I cut out the second part of the name to try and fix it as much as possible. I am someone completely against using any terminology that aims to ableism and slurs in general and I do not want anyone to think this was intentional to be aware of this knowledge yet still continue to say their channel name. I so GREATLY apologize and I am so embarrassed overall. If you were someone who informed me on this, I thank you for educating me on the matter even though that should not be your responsibility. I apologize so dearly:(❤ Edit: I’ve also heard a few different reasonings as to why that’s their name. Either way I will keep it cut out~
it’s gonna be so bizarre when in a decade there will be an epidemic of teens/adults who were extremely young kids when they were exploited on social media who will finally know the words to talk about their experiences. i hope they have the chance to heal, i just know this will be a new and unique version of childhood trauma only they will have experienced or understand
There will be one landmark case (my guess is it’s going to be Ren Eleanor) that will change everything in regards to posting children online either or monetizing or not
@MASTEROFEVIL Yeah! I was just thinking about him, I feel like no one ever brings him up. My brother used to watch him when Ryan was 7-8, I felt so sorry for him because he sounded to sad and fed up
Imagine being a little child and growing up with that camera in your face. Not even just that. It's a camera that your parents talk to as if it was just another person. A little child won't even understand how many people are intruding on their moment from that camera, they instead might just believe the camera itself to be a part of the family (especially if they're forced to interact with it, say hello or tell their feelings to it) and one day they realize just how many people they've been talking to and just how many people are watching them trough that camera. It must be absolute he'll for them.
what is crazy to me is that my 13 year old brother started posting on this platform and got banned for looking underage (which is fair) yet all these other channels with kids younger than him get to stay up!?
It actually wasn't fair since according to youtube's terms of service 13 is old enough to use youtube. So I don't know why he got banned when he was of age but kids younger than him don't.
After hearing a teenager say he just got his bed back after 7 months I remembered the time my sister threatened to take away her daughter's bed because she was being bad in school. I'm only 50% sure she didn't but also 100% sure I saw my niece without a bed in her room once, but then again she could have just changed the mattress or something.
I had a friend who's parents took his door off because he was "misbehaving". while he was in high school. His parents are shocked that he hardly talks to them as an adult and basically only had contact with them for his kids.
@@Zectifin I mean taking off a door isn’t the worst thing ever if a high schooler is knowingly being bad at least to me, my guardian did worse and we’re still very close. Making your kid sleep on the floor tho does seem extreme
them giving up their child with autism absolutely devastates me for the child.. imagine being with people for a year, they feed you, clothe you, take care of you- you're finally seeing them as your caregivers and probably starting to love them; and they rip that all away from you and tell the whole world it's because you were too difficult..
I always think what if they had a child? No guarantees they would not have autistic child, who would she return that child? They shouldn't be allowed to adopt ANY child in the future because you don't getbto give them back if something shows up later.
We already struggle with belonging, double whammy for adopted autistic kids, triple whammy when your adopted family doesn't accept you because your support needs are too high. Jesus Christ, that poor child.
When I was a kid I called the cops on my mom in New Haven ct I called because I was scared of my mom she used to beat me with belts and wires and I of course had bruises the police came and I told a lady officer and her exact words were “those look kinda of old so I can’t really do anything about about it.” Long story short when my mom came home she still beat me. So yea cps never EVER do their job
13:07 Sis Vs Bro is another great example and ends with the kids finally saying "Enough" And Karina frequently posts tictoks basically saying how it was an act and it sucked 😔
They aren’t so great, I heard of some guy in my city who moved Thailand because he is a pedo and apparently sex with underage kids is acceptable there. Not sure if that’s true, however I have heard that from a few different people that that’s why he retired there
I love the acknowledgment of the tone change… one of the most jarring things about UA-cam videos, is when you’re watching a true crime video and they just go into an ad read with a super happy tone
True crime YT creators use death of others to get moola. Just look at the young british true crime girlie who lost weight. She posts a lot of ads just after each horrifying deaths videos 😂
regarding 8 passengers, i watched them when i was little. i thought it was strange how ruby treated her kids (i was around their age at the time) but i didn't think it was mean or abnormal. i have now realized that the reason i was unfazed by the horrors those kids were bing put through is the fact that my mom would act the same way. i rolled my eyes and she wouldn't talk to me for days. she would threaten me with pulling me out of school. she would go through my personal belongings (backpack, room, school folders, etc), she would ignore me when she was upset (i was around 6 at the time), she would become violent over the smallest things (such as my tone). i remember being around 8 when she would get drunk and throw things at me. i told the school about what was happening after years of this (i was 13) and the cops got called. as it was the "first time", nothing happened. i was accused of victimizing myself when i was 11 for sitting in a corner when i got stressed. i was screamed at and shoved around for coughing until j couldn't breathe and not being able to answer my mothers question. it took all of the things going around about 8 passengers for me to realize what happened (and is sadly still happening) is not normal. i would be honestly stunned when i saw how my friends parents would treat them. i couldn't understand how they could laugh without being punished. how they could joke with their parents without getting yelled at. i watched 8 passengers because it felt "real" i mourn for these children who were put through this hell, who reached out and were ignored. i know how it feels. seeing the photo captioned "finally" broke my heart. i hope they are able to recover and find the peace they deserve and i hope those pathetic excuses for parents rot in hell for the pain they put those little angels through.
On Instagram, I saw one mother post about her autistic children everyday, mostly negative stuff. I get that it has been hard for the mother, but writing negative things about your children every day will not make anything better. One day she bought the children a giant plastic swimming pool and they had a great day. Nobody got sad, nobody had any issues that day it seems, they just had this fabulous day. And then the mother ends the story with something like: "This is not normal for us. Normally my children are the worst. Please don't assume I am having an easy life just because we had one good day." And then ranting about how her children usually behave, especially the twelve year old girl, yeah the twelve year old was totally the worst most of the time, blablabla... And I was like ... Are you aware that your children did all they could to be nice to you when you bought them this pool? It's not like they are robots just because they are autistic, I believe that especially the twelve year old knows about what the mother does on Instagram at this point. She knows she has to try to "behave" (Try to act non-autistic) because otherwise mother will tell everybody about what happened. She can go to school just like other children, so obviously she is not so autistic that she doesn't know... I had to unfollow the mother at this point, in the writing community we usually follow and follow back to support one another, but I just can't... She writes books about her children. :(
This has been a point of contention between a friend of mine and her coparent, where my friend doesn't want her child being posted to the internet, while the coparent made her career in the public eye. I agree with my friend, incidentally, "keep my baby off of social media" is a very reasonable request.
I forget the family, but I remember a few years ago, a UA-cam family sold realistic baby dolls of their newborn child as "merch." It's disgusting how some parents leave behind all their morals for some quick cash.
Get rid of family channels all together and replace them with friend channels, think about it dinsey trips, occasionally vlogs, challenges etc but instead of unconsenting kids its 4 adults who know what theyre doing, making memories and fun content for people to watch
yah a good way to sum it up is that exists plenty of channels have this already.... i would like some more content though. or saving animal videos because... saving animals is important
That clip with Ashton (or whatever his name is) doing that to his daughter is absolutely repulsive 🤢 How has he not been reported? That's not the only time he's been inappropriate towards a child. What a pig.
it's really hard for me to watch videos about family channels, even ones calling them out, because the whole topic just makes me so deeply disgusted and upset, BUT i'm so glad that it seems like more and more people are making videos about them and exposing them, gives me hope that the family channel trend will get straight up stamped out all together eventually
I think the majority of CPS staff absolutely does care, but can't do an awful lot in many cases, due to rules and regulations, and/or a lack of resources. Generally speaking though, most people go to work for CPS specifically because they do care. Have a little faith in your fellow human beings ;)
@@allietricasoSo you’re spineless. I just lost all respect I had for you. You’re pandering to people who enjoy watching child abuse. Let those assholes be offended. You shouldn’t worry about their feelings. Grow a spine and take a stand.
theres a youtuber called “really very crunchy” in which she has children but she dosent exploit them. she had never ONCE showed their faces and only used their voices about 3 times to make HER content. i still dont support her that much but i thought id i say it.
The even more messed up thing about the Labrant Family is how the currently have 4 kids with a 5th on the way. It’s back to back and they show no emotion or thought to how this could be hard on their current kids. The oldest daughter, Everleigh, has even been seen obviously upset in general with all of it. Poor girl seems like she’s dying inside. Comparing her from now to the way she used to be, she’s definitely upset. This isn’t okay at all
I remember watching the Shays growing up, and the reason I did was because I wanted the life of those kids had. I think that family channels provide a very unrealistic depiction of what childhood is, and that just adds another layer of how bad family vlogs are. My family was really poor despite my parents working really hard, so a life where you had fun with your parents all day on camera seemed like paradise. It didnt occur to me until later that there was good reason that I didnt have a life like that, and I'm appreciative that I didnt have a childhood like any of the family vlog channel kids.
You have a point. It goes beyond d that too. I have watched some cancer families. It is very sad, some are really good and not money grabs and some are total money beggers. Living the best life with their families all because of donations, gifts from people arriving in the mail. I wonder sometimes what happens when the parent dues and the subject is over and money stops. Some you actually see the spouse subjected to abuse with the sick one expecting the spouse to handle ALL of his responsibilities and hers as well! There is one out there who is a stay at home mom, when she was still well enough she had her husband handle all her insurance calls, drug management including picking it up, every appointment, people at his work donated their PTO so he could care for her and their kids, he goes back to work and still hecis handling things she could at least try on her own or get a home health aid. Then they get upset with comments they think are negative, all the while the blog is paying for their lifestyle, medical bills as she gets every experimental treatment there is.
Bro i hate to break it to you but a lot of channels do this, it's good she's makin this video but she's not, by any point, the only one calling the ped0 thing out xd
We are seeing the first wave of internet babies grown up enough to speak out and the laws that are sure to follow will be necessary to protect the ones who CANT yet speak up for themselves. 😊
I’m glad my state of Illinois has put down the law on family vloggers! After watching the ‘My dad challenge podcast’ calling out so many of these vloggers, I was shocked! The only family’s that crossed my feed were The Beeston family from Utah. Their children made them quite wealthy! The only family I do enjoy is The Pior fam as they do things together. The children are smart, polite & humorous. They post about once a week. I did watch a video of the oldest daughter from the show ‘Kate plus 8.’ She hated it & now deals with mental health issues,,, Thank you for sharing 🌹
I do have a cousin, then only 6, who asked me how to become a UA-camr... it isn't something I was ever into, but... there are children who DO want to. But exploitation like described in the video here... that's abuse of children.
That part with the mom threatening to cut her kid's stuffed animal's head off is going to stick with me. That's just some shit where that woman likes seeing their child afraid and upset. It's perverse in the most direct definition of that word
The thing is we know the blueprint of the family vlogging, Jon & Kate + 8, a TLC show that followed the development of Jon and Kate and their eight kids (a set of twins born in 2000 and sextuplets in 2004) from 2007 to 2017, the family had already been seen on a TV special in 2005 and a follow up in 2006 before the show. Collin (one of the sextuplets) has spoken out repeatedly on the impacts the show had into the family and mental detriment he experienced of being surrounded by cameras throughout his childhood and his experience being ostracized from the family and sent to a mental institution for doing things typically associated with a trauma response and not complying with filming
omg i forgot he had a kid, last thing i remember was his gf was pregnant & i looked up his tiktok and his kid is literally walking & talking now!!! crazy how time flies, they seem so happy
The food youtuber Imamu has always had her daughter appearing in videos while she cooks but not once has she shown her daughter's face. You get all the mother-daughter cuteness without sacrificing her safety.
i cant remember the name, but there was a toy unboxing channel that a mom ran with her kid that once her kid got older and wanted the videos featuring him taken down, she didnt hesitate to take every video featuring him down and keep him out of her content to the best of her ability, down to even not posting him on insta or even really mentioning him in recent videos i saw. i wont say the original format of the videos featuring her kid was good, but i really do appreciate the care she took for his comfort and privacy, especially considering i think he made the request as a teen (not close to 18 even, i think, so i think it shows how much she actually genuinely cared in some ways) ofc no one knows what happens behind the scenes but its at least nice to see from an outsider perspective
I had to look the channel up and omg I remember watching her and her kid. They used to go to the store to get Monster High dolls. That’s so sweet to hear
@@jasa360 oh my gosh he came out as trans?? i had no idea, i used to watch the channel as a kid becuz i loved monster high dolls, i think he even had a gaming channel that i used to watch too. it's pretty cool that somebody i used to watch as a kid also eventually discovered they were trans. i'm glad his mom was supportive.
I don't consume family channels. I mostly scroll over reels with kids. And there are no pictures of my kid on social media. My friend works as a prosecutor and she said "every picture of your kid can end up as child porn" So yes I brief our families not to share pictures without talking to me.
In the 90's video recording families was all re rage. Each one of my grandparents had a big ol video recorder and I was always being recorded at family events. The difference? It wasn't being uploaded for money and for complete strangers to judge me for. Its super whack its normal now.
If UA-cam didn’t monetise family vlogging channels, there wouldn’t be anywhere near as many issues that there are now. One of the many reasons family vlogging channels give me icky vibes.
It's wild, isn't it? You can't mention abortion or the holocaust on youtube, but posting videos showing child abuse or providing materials for pedophiles is perfectly fine.
I grew up as a child of missionaries. Every year we would spend the summer back in our home country and my parents would spend that time touring various churches to talk about their work. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I realized us kids being encouraged to come along for everyone to see, and all the pictures of us kids shown there were to enourage people to be generous with their donations. And even that made me feel pretty exploited, so I can't imagine what family vlog kids will feel like when they grow up and realize their entire childhood was just that! (to my parents credit, when we got older and told them we werent comfortable with that, they stopped. And they're not bad, money hungry people, so how much worse is it for kids whose parents are just out for clout and money)
a girl that goes to my high school is actually on one of those family channels, i dont know much about her besides the fact that she gets bullied and made fun of for it, i dont know why any parent would put their child through this
Do you think the kids who are on the families with cancer blogs get bullied too? Some don't show their children and I feel they are more real others show all the trips Disney, trips to the toy store because mom and dad are sad buying expensive toys for no reason. I can't imagine how other cancer patients who are struggling to get buy handle these blogs or just if children would see this and wonder why they get toys just because while they themselves may not have enough to eat or have parents who have an illness that they may die from as well.
The pressure these kids have endured.....to know that your parents _need_ you to continue being on camera for your whole family to keep food on the table, to keep the house and bills paid...it's just WAY too much pressure on developing children. Kids already have a hard time saying no to their parents, they already have their mom and dad on a pedestal and think they are always right, right out the gate. This is just sick and twisted and it's honestly coercive control along with a whole OTHER bag of abuses. This breaks my heart 😢
I like the channel Mamacusses, she's a gentle parent vlogger and author with three children. Her 4 year old twins arent in, or named in her videos; she calls them The Littles. The mom, Gwenna, will act out the situations playing their parts. Her teen daughter is occasionally in videos that she feels like being in, but is not in them often.
My little sister loves family channels, knowing this,I think I'll show my mother your analysis so then she can enforce it(none of my siblings listen to me lmao)
I think this is also like a form of grooming and continuing the cycles of abuse for their viewers! Young kids will watch the way these parents "parent" and then they act like that with other kids or kids who's parent act this way will never realized they're being abused because they think its normal and okay.
also worried about the whole home school thing - are these parents qualified to teach kids? are they being pulled out of school because they're bullied because of online content? are they being pulled out of school because normal school is bad for making money? do they get a say in whether they are homeschooled or go to normal school? so many problems with schooling alone...
What’s wild is that in most states you need next to zero qualifications to homeschool your kids and you’re pretty much allowed to teach them whatever you want. There’s so little regulation.
@@sakurauchiha03not in all cases. I go to public school and its way better then homeschooling would be for me. Also in this case homeschooling was obv not good for the kids
3:15 "You're gonna lose the privilege to eat dinner" HUH?! Were these people sponsored by Nestle or something? Also, two other things I like to note: 1: For an alternative term to "peds", might I recommend "IRVWCs" (Individuals Requiring a Visit to the Wood Chipper)? 2: I propose a specific name for anxiety disorders stemming from appearances on family vlogs: Adolescent Exposure-Based Anxiety Disorder, or AEBAD
family channels will always be an awful exploit of kids, even if they're paid and consented there will always be exploiters and people who take it too far, also congrats on 100k!
i remember watching 8 passengers when i was in early elementary school. even then a lot of what she did astonished me especially when she took away her older sons room. what a lot of people covering the parents of 8 passengers i remember the dad was gone a lot and the mom did a lot of the parenting.
Man i hate these exploitative family channels. They bribe the kids with free toys and prtty much anything they want then the parents just juice then dry for content and pocket the money for themselves really one of the worst things on the internet.
Although I was never part of a family channel, I did experience a very small portion of what it can be like. My mom was an avid facebook poster and would post me and my sister's entire lives on there. Our faces, our first and last names, where we lived, where we went to school, what classes we were struggling in. Im honestly shocked in hindsight that we didnt gain any stalkers (that I know of). She would even threaten to post about our arguments, and did on occasion, and would even take pictures of us pouting or crying to make fun of us and shame us for acting like "babies". She even occasionally posted pictures of us sleeping. It all sounds so much creepier now that I type it out. I've never really discussed it before
8 passengers was one of the worst. The mother was a total monster. Plus I don't want to watch content about young girls first getting their periods and shaving their legs 🤢🤢🤮
This reminds me of Sis vs bro. They weren’t a family blog channel, but they were kids who were kinda forced to make kids challenge videos for other kids. So it was kids being forced to make videos for other kids for the parents’ money. I grew up with sis vs bro, and looking back, I really wish I knew what was really happening back then. I also really wish I didn’t watch family blog channels when I was little. I didn’t know anything about what was really happening
Family channels have always made me uncomfortable, and the stuff that’s coming out lately only makes that feeling grow stronger. It’s such a weird concept in every way
hear me hear me. so yesterday at the store, in line of the cashier, a child is throwing himself at the floor' crying and CRYING "MOMMY! MOMMY". The mom wasn't here but the dad was. And he was RECORDING HIS CRYING CHILD'S TANTRUM and saying "Go on! Continue! I'm gonna post it on my Instagram Story!!!" People were disguted by the dad's behavior.
When I was a teenager I used to watch one particular channel that was sort of a family channel, but moreso just a vlogger who happened to be a stay-at-home mom. It was originally someone who would make videos talking about baby names, and me being an aspiring writer I would watch them to hear interesting ones. She eventually had children and being a daily vlogger naturally her vlogs began to include her kids. It was luckily never anything that seemed outright exploitative or manipulative; she never got brand deals and didn't try to build subscribers very much. She would only ever get maybe a thousand or two views on her vlog videos. It was just daily happenings and pretty chill, but her kids were in almost all of them after a certain point. She came to mind recently after I was reading up on this family/mommy vlogger discourse and I looked her up again. Almost all of her videos had been removed or privated on her channel, which I'm now happy to see. I hope nothing bad happened and that she just eventually realized the negatives of posting her children online.
So my step mom just had a baby a week ago. He is a 6 week early premie & she couldn’t even hold him for the first 3 days of his life. As I’m visiting in the hospital she finally is able to hold him for the first time ever & the nurse asks if she wants to change his diaper for the first time too. Before she starts changing his diaper, she hands me her phone & says “go live!” I said … “you want me to live this???” She said “yes!!!” I felt so uncomfortable & weird. I went live for her but kept the phone angling from chest up so he wouldn’t be exposed. & felt bad because the whole time he’s looking over at me, all he sees is a phone instead of my actual face. People get so carried away with this & so unaware of how NOT normal it is….
You have to censor the word abuse but yet UA-cam allows family channels to exist.
Right. “Holocaust” and “abortion” get silenced but not your daughter’s first period.
@@MichaelDG2023 know what bothers me??? They silence 💩 and then the f bomb gets dropped... makes no sense!

At least where I live in, food IS legally a human right.
@@ExistenceUniversityA right is also there to establish that it's illegal to not let you access it. @@lilbread1717 No that's not correct because food is not a right for ALL the reasons I just explained. Child neglect is illegal, not feeding your child is neglect. It's not illegal because of a "right to food".
Watch your argument crumble:
"A right is there to establish that it's illegal to not let you access it"
Ok so I open a restaurant and you demand free food.

Yeah and then she went back to doing it. I’m pretty sure it’s the same one. Is she Mormon?
Tbh that is very naive. If you have cute kids and/or show their skin and/or show them in intimate settings, this _will_ happen. The bar is very low for that. Things that are totally fine in public, may not be online. Wear a short skirt, and they'll watch it hoping to catch a glimpse underneath. Lie under a blanket, and they'll watch it fantasizing about having them in their bed. Teenage girls on youtube understand this, and make use of it, and as a parent you ought to know this as well (and obviously _not_ make use of it).
That was Ruby of Eight Passengers. But look what actually happened. It wasn’t about protecting her kids.

I'm autistic too!

I used to watch Sis vs Bro, and now that they’ve grown up and I’ve grown up, they started talking about how they felt the constant pressure taht if they didn’t act happy and energetic and devote all their time to UA-cam, they couldn’t pay the bills. These kids suffered so much
I don’t even think they talk to each other anymore
As an online grooming victim, family channels have always made me feel really uncomfortable because it is so easy to accidentally cater to creeps online. I've had to make a rule for myself not to post online because as soon as i did I'd get my dms flooded with people trying to get with me
Holy shit I knew family channels could be bad but I didn't realize it was this bad. I only really heard about the spoiled kid with all the toys. Didn't realize it was so deep with the mom who vlogged abusing and neglecting her kids and the people who decided not to adopt because they couldn't film them in the first year. Absolutely fucking wild.
I didn’t even get into that side of it all, exploiting children is just so prevalent on yt it’s so sad
What angry me is that they could still talk about their adoption story and the pros and cons of their everyday life without sacrificing the privacy of the child. I seen channels that talk about their fostering experiences without showing the child's face or identifiable information and still be entertaining. Their thought process is just disgusting.
@ville__ i asked now go away
Puberty is humiliating enough without having a camera constantly being shoved in your face
I've never, like ever talked to my mum when I got my period, she shames me for it. There's a reason why.
SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M UNCOMFORTABLE TALKING ABOUT FEMALE PUBERTY
GUESS WHY
Because I'm trans.
A possibility if you are able to contact her, if you are willing, giving her a way out the moment she turns 18 and can leave
What family channel? I have no problem calling out her parents
some people don't know how to raise children. there are kids who surpass college level education and excel in socialization in homeschool. it's all on parents' shoulders.
"There wasn't enough of a case to build off"
There's literally FOOTAGE of her bragging about taking one of her son's bedroom and sending him to a really shady boot camp, and hoping that nobody gives her daughter food because she forgot to make her own lunch, and so much more! Why did the authorities take so long to step in?!?
Amazing video! I really like your editing style
Unfortunately stuff like that isn’t enough:(
From what I heard, if everything was fine when cps or the cops came to the house (or if nobody opened the door), they would drop it.
Exactly, pressure does not equal consent in any situation
Totally fine if the case but Law requires that level of generalization as children cannot begin to conceptualize ownership of their body, image, or memories let alone “allowing” it to be shared…
I would look into Alyson Stoner’s deep dive into child stardom.
I apologize so dearly:(❤
Edit: I’ve also heard a few different reasonings as to why that’s their name. Either way I will keep it cut out~
Thanks allie! ❤️
as someone who didnt know this either(until reading this), thank you for doing what you did! it is much appreciated
Would have fooled me too. W for having integrity, Allie.
Why are you apologizing for saying the name of the channel?
@@simplyboppingK because its a slur
it’s gonna be so bizarre when in a decade there will be an epidemic of teens/adults who were extremely young kids when they were exploited on social media who will finally know the words to talk about their experiences. i hope they have the chance to heal, i just know this will be a new and unique version of childhood trauma only they will have experienced or understand
bro has negative views and subscribers dont even bro @ville__
Remember that Ryan kid from that toy channel?
There will be one landmark case (my guess is it’s going to be Ren Eleanor) that will change everything in regards to posting children online either or monetizing or not
@MASTEROFEVIL Yeah! I was just thinking about him, I feel like no one ever brings him up. My brother used to watch him when Ryan was 7-8, I felt so sorry for him because he sounded to sad and fed up
@ville__we get it, youre 7 with a youtube account and you love seeing your peers through a screen
I watched the video and they showed the beanbag he slept on. It was absolutely tiny.
wtf your poor niece
@@Zectifin I mean taking off a door isn’t the worst thing ever if a high schooler is knowingly being bad at least to me, my guardian did worse and we’re still very close. Making your kid sleep on the floor tho does seem extreme
@nathanfrancis9411 everyone has a right to privacy, even children and especially teenagers.
them giving up their child with autism absolutely devastates me for the child.. imagine being with people for a year, they feed you, clothe you, take care of you- you're finally seeing them as your caregivers and probably starting to love them; and they rip that all away from you and tell the whole world it's because you were too difficult..
I always think what if they had a child? No guarantees they would not have autistic child, who would she return that child? They shouldn't be allowed to adopt ANY child in the future because you don't getbto give them back if something shows up later.
Imagine your way of emotional expression is met with serve punishment and how your brain works is treated as inferior and wrong

Sis Vs Bro is another great example and ends with the kids finally saying
"Enough"
And Karina frequently posts tictoks basically saying how it was an act and it sucked 😔
Im SO glad that there is a law in place for Thailand to stop people vlogging their new adopted kids. Makes me so sad they have to do this.
Oh yeah no 100% I still even felt uncomfortable adding it in there lol
True crime YT creators use death of others to get moola. Just look at the young british true crime girlie who lost weight. She posts a lot of ads just after each horrifying deaths videos 😂
regarding 8 passengers, i watched them when i was little. i thought it was strange how ruby treated her kids (i was around their age at the time) but i didn't think it was mean or abnormal. i have now realized that the reason i was unfazed by the horrors those kids were bing put through is the fact that my mom would act the same way. i rolled my eyes and she wouldn't talk to me for days. she would threaten me with pulling me out of school. she would go through my personal belongings (backpack, room, school folders, etc), she would ignore me when she was upset (i was around 6 at the time), she would become violent over the smallest things (such as my tone).
i remember being around 8 when she would get drunk and throw things at me. i told the school about what was happening after years of this (i was 13) and the cops got called. as it was the "first time", nothing happened.
i was accused of victimizing myself when i was 11 for sitting in a corner when i got stressed. i was screamed at and shoved around for coughing until j couldn't breathe and not being able to answer my mothers question.
it took all of the things going around about 8 passengers for me to realize what happened (and is sadly still happening) is not normal. i would be honestly stunned when i saw how my friends parents would treat them. i couldn't understand how they could laugh without being punished. how they could joke with their parents without getting yelled at. i watched 8 passengers because it felt "real"
i mourn for these children who were put through this hell, who reached out and were ignored. i know how it feels. seeing the photo captioned "finally" broke my heart. i hope they are able to recover and find the peace they deserve and i hope those pathetic excuses for parents rot in hell for the pain they put those little angels through.
I'm so sorry you had to suffer like that, sweetheart. Are you safe now?
i hope you have a safe home now!!!!
I hope your safe and okay bless your soul.
I hope her kids escape her someday
This has been a point of contention between a friend of mine and her coparent, where my friend doesn't want her child being posted to the internet, while the coparent made her career in the public eye.
I agree with my friend, incidentally, "keep my baby off of social media" is a very reasonable request.
Oh noooo I feel like that’s a subject that should be talked about before having a baby tbh😭
Don't have a kid, but I would go to court over posting pictures of my kids
I forget the family, but I remember a few years ago, a UA-cam family sold realistic baby dolls of their newborn child as "merch." It's disgusting how some parents leave behind all their morals for some quick cash.
That's disturbing. Who tf would even buy that!?
@@kelb6073pedos unfortunately
It was the Ingham Family I believe, you’d need an entire video to talk about the messed up things they’ve done to their children
Get rid of family channels all together and replace them with friend channels, think about it dinsey trips, occasionally vlogs, challenges etc but instead of unconsenting kids its 4 adults who know what theyre doing, making memories and fun content for people to watch
2014 vloggers were huge
yah a good way to sum it up is that exists plenty of channels have this already.... i would like some more content though.
or saving animal videos because... saving animals is important
That clip with Ashton (or whatever his name is) doing that to his daughter is absolutely repulsive 🤢 How has he not been reported? That's not the only time he's been inappropriate towards a child. What a pig.
As a society, we need a lot more critical thinking about the media we consume.
100% I’ve gotten so much more cautious about it!
it's really hard for me to watch videos about family channels, even ones calling them out, because the whole topic just makes me so deeply disgusted and upset, BUT i'm so glad that it seems like more and more people are making videos about them and exposing them, gives me hope that the family channel trend will get straight up stamped out all together eventually
CPS absolutely does not care until it's too late... it's messed up
Literally
Blame it on the juvenile system and the boot camps
CPS is trying to give my cousins back to their drug abuser mother
I think the majority of CPS staff absolutely does care, but can't do an awful lot in many cases, due to rules and regulations, and/or a lack of resources. Generally speaking though, most people go to work for CPS specifically because they do care. Have a little faith in your fellow human beings ;)

This isn’t okay at all
She’s also lost her dad and she’s gone through so much and her family does not care about her and she’s just there to babysit the kids
OMG THE SHAYS! Core memory unlocked

I agree, particularly given you see a lot of content from larger families
I always notice how once the kids age and turn into teens, they hate being recorded.

i cant remember the name, but there was a toy unboxing channel that a mom ran with her kid that once her kid got older and wanted the videos featuring him taken down, she didnt hesitate to take every video featuring him down and keep him out of her content to the best of her ability, down to even not posting him on insta or even really mentioning him in recent videos i saw. i wont say the original format of the videos featuring her kid was good, but i really do appreciate the care she took for his comfort and privacy, especially considering i think he made the request as a teen (not close to 18 even, i think, so i think it shows how much she actually genuinely cared in some ways)

They might not be either entirely it is a tough world out there and hard to make money
Good for your parents!
a girl that goes to my high school is actually on one of those family channels, i dont know much about her besides the fact that she gets bullied and made fun of for it, i dont know why any parent would put their child through this
Do you think the kids who are on the families with cancer blogs get bullied too?
How did your mother react?
Compared to public schools. Homeschooling is over all better.
@@sakurauchiha03not in all cases. I go to public school and its way better then homeschooling would be for me. Also in this case homeschooling was obv not good for the kids
@@sakurauchiha03 No, sorry. Some homeschooling may be better. Definitely not all.
Homeschooling is forbidden in Germany.
Ace family is getting divorced now lol
dawg the queen died on my birthday last year and now these mfs are going to court on my birthday this year 😭
3:15 "You're gonna lose the privilege to eat dinner" HUH?! Were these people sponsored by Nestle or something?
Also, two other things I like to note:
1: For an alternative term to "peds", might I recommend "IRVWCs" (Individuals Requiring a Visit to the Wood Chipper)?
2: I propose a specific name for anxiety disorders stemming from appearances on family vlogs: Adolescent Exposure-Based Anxiety Disorder, or AEBAD
Sponsored by adidas
family channels will always be an awful exploit of kids, even if they're paid and consented there will always be exploiters and people who take it too far, also congrats on 100k!
its so sad knowing these kids may have grown up thinking this shit was ok because they were never taught otherwise
The fact that we're having a full repeat of the Daddyofive situation is horrifying
The man’s voice breaking while making the 911 call is heart wrenching. How could someone like that call herself a mother. She is a monster.
i remember watching 8 passengers when i was in early elementary school. even then a lot of what she did astonished me especially when she took away her older sons room. what a lot of people covering the parents of 8 passengers i remember the dad was gone a lot and the mom did a lot of the parenting.
hard topic to go over without going too far into just being mad. you were much more...collected than i'd be lol. keep up the good vidoes!
Dude it was so hard, I def start losing my chill at the end lol
Plus I don't want to watch content about young girls first getting their periods and shaving their legs 🤢🤢🤮
yeah family vlogging is on the same level as pageants for me
Honestly good point LOL
This reminds me of Sis vs bro. They weren’t a family blog channel, but they were kids who were kinda forced to make kids challenge videos for other kids. So it was kids being forced to make videos for other kids for the parents’ money. I grew up with sis vs bro, and looking back, I really wish I knew what was really happening back then. I also really wish I didn’t watch family blog channels when I was little. I didn’t know anything about what was really happening
I’m pretty sure Ronald and Karina still make content, but they make their own content now
Family channels have always made me uncomfortable, and the stuff that’s coming out lately only makes that feeling grow stronger. It’s such a weird concept in every way
Yeah I’ve reported some of the children in swim clothes or commented about it. They don’t get takes off of Fb or yt and the parents go on attack.
"Family Channels have always been bad." Spitting straight facts right out the gate.
after such a terrible day and my stitches breaking after I got stabbed, I'm glad Allie posted so I can relax for a bit.
This video is a bit brutal so I apologize for that, hopefully my next one can be more fun and upbeat:}
Spob can I get a glass of water?
@@Curlyheart ofc u can brother 🧊
did-did you just say stabbed
Stabbed?? Omg are you ok
hear me hear me. so yesterday at the store, in line of the cashier, a child is throwing himself at the floor' crying and CRYING "MOMMY! MOMMY". The mom wasn't here but the dad was. And he was RECORDING HIS CRYING CHILD'S TANTRUM and saying "Go on! Continue! I'm gonna post it on my Instagram Story!!!" People were disguted by the dad's behavior.
WHAT
When I was a teenager I used to watch one particular channel that was sort of a family channel, but moreso just a vlogger who happened to be a stay-at-home mom.
One of the worst is the Norris Nuts and no one talks about just how bad they are. They still have a massive fan base and it’s horrific.
Family vloggers have always made me irrationally angry
No, its completely rational.
not irrationial at all
There's no fucking way you make content this well made but don't have a giant subscriber count. It's a good day when you drop a video.
So my step mom just had a baby a week ago. He is a 6 week early premie & she couldn’t even hold him for the first 3 days of his life. As I’m visiting in the hospital she finally is able to hold him for the first time ever & the nurse asks if she wants to change his diaper for the first time too. Before she starts changing his diaper, she hands me her phone & says “go live!” I said … “you want me to live this???” She said “yes!!!”
I felt so uncomfortable & weird. I went live for her but kept the phone angling from chest up so he wouldn’t be exposed. & felt bad because the whole time he’s looking over at me, all he sees is a phone instead of my actual face. People get so carried away with this & so unaware of how NOT normal it is….
