What's really sad is again what he mentioned in the video: The older a kid gets in the adoption system, the less likely a family is to adopt them. That paired with the fact that the poor Chinese kid had autism meant that by taking him in and sending him back two years later, they not only likely crush his hopes of stability but gave him a worse chance of finding a family that really cared about him. All for a profit on UA-cam. Disgusting.
He got his bed back that doesn’t make it okay I think most people’s moms cross some line of punishment (my mom has punished me by to my room for up to 6 hours in the past) of course him needing to sleep on a beanbag or couch is way worse but I think the worse part is the fact that they put there kids on camera when they don’t want to be but I will say at least eve and maybe russel are the only ones that are so young that they don’t really have opinions
my moms bf made me do sentences and took away my bed so I wouldnt sleep (all while my mom was around and with her consent) and my brother and I both told her we dont like it when he does that but she doesnt care. (He is v nice otherwise though.)
my sibling got his door and his bed *frame* taken away for a good while once. Room totally stripped down except for the mattress and furniture. I almost thought it was kind of harsh but then again he did really screw up. Stole mine and our great grandmother’s card information and spent hundreds on dollars on stupid shit and vaping paraphernalia that he would then turn around and sell at his middle school.
I feel like part of it is also the parents' entitlement: thinking that because they created and cared for their kids that they have the right to exploit them as they choose
When you as a child realize, that the only reason of your existence was just the parents wanting to make clickbaity UA-cam Videos about you, before you were born...
I can't imagine waking up everyday questioning whether my parents wanted me for the joy of having a child, or because they wanted more views on UA-cam.
Imagine being a child and not being able to make a mistake without thousands or millions of people knowing. Imagine having every birthday party, first crush, unfortunate haircut, bad grade, and fight with a sibling being monetized for the entertainment of others. Imagine being a business expense. All children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children.
Yea Child Stars/Celebrities experience that and it’s a really harmful childhood. Don’t know why people can’t connect the two dots of fame during youth causes hatm
I mean that child is gonna have abandonment issues for the rest of his life. And he's autistic, so a stable environment is even more important for his mental health. They really messed him up.
It gets even worse, she duct taped his hand so that he wouldn’t suck his thumb, even tho she didn’t do that to her other kids, and the bad part is that she filmed his pain, and she’s even trying to find new children with disabilities so she can get money off them too
This is why I think DanTDM is such a good dad. He's keeping his childs identity safe, spending less time on his content to spend time with his child, and juggling his UA-cam channel at the same time. Good on you Dan.
Good parent levels from best to worst: Caring, supporting, genuine parents > Posh, Snobby Parents > Karens > Family Channel Parents > Beauty Pageant Parents
As bad as Karens are they normally think their children are the best thing and they genuinely do what they think is best for their children (but they are normally wrong)
Yeah good thing that most kids didn't have a mother who manipulated them but for the kids that did get manipulated by their parents i feel so bad for and wish i could help
So, my mother has 6 children, including me, and she sometimes posts us on Facebook. However, she always asks me (oldest, 14) if I’m comfortable having it posted, and does the same with my younger siblings. She doesn’t post anything inappropriate, and is only followed by her friends and my family. I’m glad she’s better than these people, and these parents horrify me.
I wish my parent was like that, I am very uncomfortable with taking pictures, talking to people. Or even sometimes going outside. My mum has posted my pictures online without my permission and also tries to take pictures of me when I feel very uncomfortable with that going on. She argues that it is just friends and family but I hate my photos being online. She managed to decrease my self confidence and I get blamed for most actions. She makes me feel bad about eating anything then still posts things online without my permission. I don't and never will post pictures of any of mine or my friends faces. I am infact a minor that doesn't have a matured brain, but what I feel comfortable with and what I don't will still be up to me. She also has argued I will wonder what I looked like when I get older. But that's wrong, as one picture is enough, I barely change how I look and I already have pictures of myself. She doesn't treat me with any respect and that's also a reason why I hate taking pictures. I always hide my face from it then she yells at me for not letting her take the picture as I know she will post it online.
I think most channels like this want to be good parents but found youtube or watched other family channels and thought it would be fun but kinda empty over time. It depends on the people.
I’m sorry but I just find it hilarious that they are using pregnancy as entertainment… “If you catch this ball that means I’m pregnant, if you don’t that means I’m not pregnant” LIKE WHAT
Most of the views come from toddlers so yeah I guess they can manipulate people like that with such utter BS either that or catching the ball makes it so they remove their rubber when doing the no no cuddle
Being a big brother to an autistic kid I find it horrible and mean how they used a autistic kid for views and sent him back when their “money maker” didn’t make enough money for them.
My parents have told many stories about having to explain to old friends that posting a picture of a naked child on Facebook will get taken down because it could be used as CP by creeps, not because people have an issue with their kid.
The issue wasn't necessarily the fact that he was sent back. It was the amount of time he was kept with that family before sending him back. They kept him as long as they could get money from him and when they started not getting as much money and they realized it wasn't worth it to keep a special ed child due to the extra difficulty raising him would be, they just returned him
I mean, if your not sure you can take care of another child, then don't. Wait until your in a point in your life when you have every thing figured out and your sure you want another baby. Or even just one baby
@@michibmoon they weren't adopted... They were his kids from a previous marriage (Cody and Emma were) the older three kids were his stepkids, the children of his second relationship (who she had from a previous relationship as well)
I've never heard of him and after reading the replies I don't really want to watch his channel, could someone please give me a few examples of what he has done?
Your Mom Phil DeFranco did a really good job covering him. There is a lot to sift through so I would definitely recommend watching some of his videos on the matter.
I think he was the one in the video part where she says “if you catch the ball I'm pregnant,if you don't I'm not" I'm guessing he didn't catch the ball and when she said she wasn't pregnant he assumed it was his fault for not catching the ball The whole situation is so messed up
A lot of these same concerns surround the issue of child actors, singers, etc. The difference is now you don't even need your child to be talented to traumatize them for money.
I feel like the reason the children don’t say anything is fear of speaking up not lack of intelligence. If I was a kid with an abusive mother I wouldn’t want to speak up.
Honestly, for the same reason they put similar photos in private family albums. They think it's innocent, cute, endearing, etc.. My own childhood was thankfully before social media, but i was in a few physical albums! As an older kid, I did not like this and was quite vocal about my personal objection -- but other family thought that I was the one being unreasonable... -smh- So it's no surprise that many would already possess such a mentality...and unthinkingly carry that outlook into the realm of social media! Don't attribute to malice what can be explained by utter... abject... *stupidity. *
Even in my own family photos they have the decency to hide my prick edit: Social media wasn’t big then, so these family photos where just a bunch of polaroids, but still. Common decency.
Yeah like if I have photos of my own kids naked or what not I'd be half afraid of someone making the jump to me having CP and then get a knock on my door from the FBI. But then again I get uncomfortable by the kids being in swim suits in advertisements on store products.
OH THAT HAPPENED THERE WAS THIS CHAANEL CALLED SOMETHING IDK THEY ADOPTED CHILDREN AND THE CHILDREN WERE ABUSED LIKE TAKING ICE BATHS OR GETTING PEPPER SPRAYED
Glass Butterfly It depends on how the parents are involved. I don’t think this story is true, but I remember reading one child actor was KILLED by his parents, who made him a actor to get rich. When he wasn’t successful, they killed him. I don’t remember where I heard this, but I remember reading it somewhere. Edit: I remember reading that the mom got life, but accidentally died, and the dad got death row.
They probably started out as some parents that wanted to do some fun activities with their kids and share it but got corrupted by money and status or just aren't fit to be one (Talking generally on family vloggers)
Imagine being adopted, wanting a loving family and you just have a camera to you’re face for your whole childhood, theses children don’t want this they’ve already gone throught so much
Can we appreciate how dantdm doesn’t show his sons face, this shows that he is a good parent and is not like these family channels who use their kids for views
Dan isn’t a family vlogging channel though. Vlogging is different from gaming. It definitely changes everything. Although I do agree that he is a wonderful parent, and him and Gemma are protecting their son in a positive way.
I’m surprised the Ace Family wasn’t mentioned here, they’re the pinnacle of family vlogging. Edit: I was referring more to them being an example but sure, guess they’re referenced
Kids aren’t just products you can get and return. They are human beings, with lots of potential waiting for them then comes to the depressing conclusion that you’re just getting used for money? Like I wanna have a talk here.
Imagine being born just for business, Being a easy target for online predators, And being recorded since the day you were born for millions and millions of people to see. I think living like that could traumatise you.
I think all family channels should be demonitized. Strait up. Responsible parents know they can't rely on their children for income. Unresponsible parents will have to find some other way to support their children. Which as cruel as it is. Shouldn't be forcing the child into an unwanted spotlight in front of millions of faceless people for views. I hate to be blunt like this. But when was it when people were telling the parents to not use the internet to raise your kids. Now they're raising their kids on the internet.
Coming from someone like me who would like to adopt children someday I’m absolutely horrified about how they sent him back after around 2 years. They tricked this poor child into thinking that he had a family and parents who loved him but when he stopped making them money they returned him and made it even harder for him to be adopted since he was now older.
He got used to having parents and a comfortable life in a nice house, probably got attached to them, remember 2 years is an eternity for a young child, then they ship him back to horrible Chinese orphanage where I doubt he'll be treated well, it makes me feel sick just thinking about it. Why do they still have a channel.
Also like... imagine the psychological issues the kid will have from this situation. He went from thinking he had a family and parents who loved him to being cast away because it was no longer convenient to have him there.

Imo they should just demonetize them, as he said fairly accurately, they start with good intentions, but as the family starts to become a business, they start treating it like that, so if we make it not be a business, the good intentions will prevail.
they did technically, by demonetizing these family channels. they remove the ad-sense by telling the creators that kids featured will massively reduce their income to protect them online predators. they disabled comments on the channels under 13 and such which seems to be doing well overall.
My mother has been someone’s who’s always exploited me and my sister on Facebook since as long as I remember. Now birthdays, holidays, and special occasions are fine but she would take videos of me and my sister sleeping bathing (when we were young) and just plain eating, it’s just unacceptable. She’s stopped taking sleeping images and bathing images (obviously after like age of 1) but she still constantly exploits us up to a point where she trashed my 11 year old sister around to get a photo of her with her new braces. Nothing Is ever a family moment as well. Something funny happens, she takes a video. My dog doing something dumb, video. My cat died a couple years ago. She took a photo of his dead body after being put down and POSTED IT!! Because of all this, I’ve grown to hate taking pictures, especially ones that expose my face. STOP EXPLOITING KIDS. ITS NOT FAIR TO THEM!! ITS OUR LIVES, NOT YOURS.
I know those kids won't mind all the cameras at their young ages, but when they get older the parents are gonna need to stop because their kids will have a fit from lack of privacy.
I agree young kids don't care about being on camera however as you get older being on a cringey family channel is embarrassing and a reputation rekter.

Myka seems like a disgusting person. That’s so inhumane to “return” a child after fulfilling their dreams of being adopted. She clearly was just trying to make money. I’m writing this while watching but oh my god she seems so psychotic. Even her voice is annoying lol
This happened to me. I was adopted at 5 and given up at 11. It ruined me. I had a chance to be adopted again, and outright refused because I didn't want to be hurt like that again. I've never been able to be comfortable with someone telling me they care about me, so life has been lonely. I'm 41 now, and I'll probably die alone and unloved, thanks to this. I feel like it should be a felony to adopt and disown. These people should be in prison.
Yah This is why a lot of celebrities dont post their children’s face on social media; theyre not old enough to give consent, which makes a lot of sense. I would never want my entire life exposed to the world no matter how old i am
I think that them recording thir child reaction to a miscarriage is disgusting, if it was just her talking about how she had one I would be fine with it. My mother had a miscarriage and its a terrible thing to live through. Profiting on something like that is terrible
Vlogging is worst to me. There’s no regulation nor protection for these kids. At least, the courts can come in and protect the child actor. Vlogging kids are stuck with shitty ass parents.
@@spruceclient8307 yes cruel, but not unusual. These kinds of ABUSIVE camps, schools are everywhere! Im not talking about wiping with rocks but just about the abuse in general.
I remember seeing a family vlog where the youngest kid flooded the bathroom accidentally (the clip starts a while after it happens, and are cleaning up) and according to the mom "he's crying because he's so guilty"
Parents are literally the worst people you can choose to take care of your kids. Imagine if we did the same with other jobs. Employers hire people with 0% experience to start working and tell them to "figure it out themselves". The company plummets immediately, breaking down in a single week. Parents should show profession in handling toddlers and kids before they have unprotected sex, otherwise it's mandatory to put on a condom or put the baby in an adoption center to be raised by professionals. If that were to ever be applied in our country, the amount of scientists and professors in it will skyrocket in about two decades.
@@mine-bx9if that's kinda bothering ngl. Not everyone is comfortable to the fact that they're adopted and that these "professional parents" may not treat a child like how a real parent does. Love needs to be genuine, and I have a bad feeling that these "parents" would treat them as their job. Besides, I do think that a better alternative would be to take personality tests or something, for it is a fact that people with good personalities tend to be good parents.
That miscarriage video made me so fucking angry, she made him feel like it was his fault and monetized their breakdown. That’s disgusting. Same with the adoption thing. I have an adopted sibling and it makes me furious that they would be that disgusting.

I never understood why parents would ever take pics of their kids naked, let alone post it online. Even if it’s just for a photo album. What if Uncle Diddler finds that photo album and decides to keep it?
I feel so uncomfortable with these channels. When I see them, I feel dirty, like I’m creeping into private family time. I don’t understand this desire to put privacy in the spotlight. When I was young, parents only gave photos of their kids to family members and very close friends. And *home* videos were for the *home*. I would’ve been so upset if private times were on display: like me as a baby playing in the bathtub, picking my nose as a toddler, crying over being bullied at school... it’s terribly embarrassing!

Some stuff like filming kids playing games and just letting the kid have fun is ok but making a ten year old boy think he caused his unborn siblings DEATH is horrible.

When you as a child realize, that the only reason of your existence was just the parents wanting to make clickbaity UA-cam Videos about you, before you were born...

The fact that they returned a child, who needed a home and was happy with their family, because of fame and money is horrible
Not just horrible, that's evil
I mean that child is gonna have abandonment issues for the rest of his life. And he's autistic, so a stable environment is even more important for his mental health. They really messed him up.
And if you take the fact that the child is disabled is mess up
That makes an assumption that he was happy with them.

So, my mother has 6 children, including me, and she sometimes posts us on Facebook. However, she always asks me (oldest, 14) if I’m comfortable having it posted, and does the same with my younger siblings. She doesn’t post anything inappropriate, and is only followed by her friends and my family. I’m glad she’s better than these people, and these parents horrify me.
as someone with a parent who asks me before posting any pictures of me it also horrifies me
My dad force me to take a photo in family reunions lol
My family relies on Photos! (Joke)
agreed

A lot of these same concerns surround the issue of child actors, singers, etc. The difference is now you don't even need your child to be talented to traumatize them for money.

Honestly, for the same reason they put similar photos in private family albums. They think it's innocent, cute, endearing, etc.. My own childhood was thankfully before social media, but i was in a few physical albums! UA-cam should honestly just ban all “family channels.” If that doesn’t happen, they should at least demonetize them.
Imo they should just demonetize them, as he said fairly accurately, they start with good intentions, but as the family starts to become a business, they start treating it like that, so if we make it not be a business, the good intentions will prevail.
most of the family channels are bad but some are ok-good

Ikr, like he's not got a receipt , he ain't an item or clothing
My eyes widened when I heard that, how could someone do that?
This happened to me. I was adopted at 5 and given up at 11. It ruined me. I had a chance to be adopted again, and outright refused because I didn't want to be hurt like that again. I've never been able to be comfortable with someone telling me they care about me, so life has been lonely. I'm 41 now, and I'll probably die alone and unloved, thanks to this. I feel like it should be a felony to adopt and disown. These people should be in prison.
thedrew4you I am there for you, don’t worry
thedrew4you I am pressing F to pay respects so much
Yah This is why a lot of celebrities dont post their children’s face on social media; theyre not old enough to give consent, which makes a lot of sense. I would never want my entire life exposed to the world no matter how old i am
Irony how celebrities has more brain than these family vloggers 😔
Exactly! Even the Kardashian’s didn’t showcase their kids that much in kuwtk

It's sad that some parents do this to their children.
I think that them recording thir child reaction to a miscarriage is disgusting, if it was just her talking about how she had one I would be fine with it. My mother had a miscarriage and its a terrible thing to live through. Profiting on something like that is terrible

People shame parents of child actors, yet celebrate parents like this when it's similarly problematic.
This is worse. At least with child actors they don't film your entire life.
Vlogging is worst to me. There’s no regulation nor protection for these kids. At least, the courts can come in and protect the child actor. Vlogging kids are stuck with shitty ass parents.
@@Solunatic02 I completely agree, this is far worse.
The parents who sent their son to the camp are HORRIBLE
Yeah like wtf? Wipe with rocks?! Just...no.

@@spruceclient8307 yes cruel, but not unusual. These kinds of ABUSIVE camps, schools are everywhere! Im not talking about wiping with rocks but just about the abuse in general.
How is the camp still open?!
my friend told me that his friend was in a school where they STILL beat you up with a ruler if your bad.
I remember seeing a family vlog where the youngest kid flooded the bathroom accidentally (the clip starts a while after it happens, and are cleaning up) and according to the mom "he's crying because he's so guilty"
Are you talking about daddy0five?
Gotta appreciate he spends so long blurring out the kids faces

Kevin just seems like he’s like “can we just be done with this” bc he has a job anyways
And by that I meant 8 passengers
Its like judge judy loosely said, "This is why parents should take tests before they have children"

@@mine-bx9if You're absolutely right
I've been saying that for months now, also having pets
Exactly..I dont know how u feel but it must be horrible

that mother is one of the most horrible parents in the universe
I hate when a family member posts my face online, especially on a website I don't use and won't use ever in my life. Even ones I will use.
My parents do sometimes but only with my full permission.
There's a fine line between strict parenting and miss-parenting
ik, their mum gives them a punishment "bananas for breakfast". that isent healthy for them since breakfast is the main meal of the day. and what type of punishment is that?
It's no that fine though
I once went to church with this family and their well behaved daughter told me that she has two wear the same out fit till christmas and she has to sleep in garage on a bean bag till christmas (this was told to me in mid november) I asked her dad is that was true he said yes and glared at trinity (the daughter) when I asked why he said because she lied about doing her homework. @@scarlatte307 that sounds abusive tbh
@Jordan Bustle I like eating bananas. And try it wating like salad by making small pieces in a line, then sprinkling lite salt. You can use that for gym/after excersize quick meal.
I never understood why parents would ever take pics of their kids naked, let alone post it online. Even if it’s just for a photo album. What if Uncle Diddler finds that photo album and decides to keep it?
I get it if it's a newborn like, 'look at my baby boy' but even then they should at least put a diaper on
*mom why does uncle have a naked baby photo of me?*
Well, to be fair, you don't assume anyone from your family is Uncle Diddler.
Nononono it’s uncle sam
Uncle Diddlers waiting
I feel so uncomfortable with these channels. When I see them, I feel dirty, like I’m creeping into private family time. I don’t understand this desire to put privacy in the spotlight. When I was young, parents only gave photos of their kids to family members and very close friends. And *home* videos were for the *home*.
I would’ve been so upset if private times were on display: like me as a baby playing in the bathtub, picking my nose as a toddler, crying over being bullied at school... it’s terribly embarrassing!
I feel like a creep watching from the window, i know i shouldn't be watching that, that is the family's privacy
I couldn’t explain what I was feeling... it’s this... embarrassment for feeling like a McCreeper for viewing their weird life. Gross...
Family channels are cringe 😬
@@Zeus-7778 not all.. There's this Family Vloging channel called 'Cam&Fam and she doesn't shove The camera on her babies.. Glad my parents do there best to keep any information of me off the internet as much as possible
Some stuff like filming kids playing games and just letting the kid have fun is ok but making a ten year old boy think he caused his unborn siblings DEATH is horrible.
i doesn't suprised if the kid had mental issue in future.his mom should comfort him not filming it and pushed things on him

@@SilverHawk214 The Norris Nuts
Well, the mother didn’t make him think that, per se. She just told him if she was pregnant or not, and tried comforting him when he thought it was his fault.
