@PetroHead - Just a small correction - the 2019 ZX-6R has 3 levels of Traction Control (KTRC), not 7 or 8. I have the KRT-ABS edition 2019 and love it to bits! All in all, a fantastic review chief!
Underrated? I don't think so. Youngmachine Japan picked the ZX6R as the best in it's class, competing against R6 & CBR600R, which are both great bikes. ZX6R is the cheapest to buy and to own/maintain and it also won the best ergonomics for daily riding, considering most riders are short.
bought a 2007 zx6r at the beginning of the summer and ive been loving it, one thing i dont like is that it seems to require giant hex keys to access alot of things the yammies are just easier to work on . but ive been commuting to work and going on rides and next month is my first track day, its been amazing, ive had a few issues but nothing i couldnt fix myself and i dont know much about fixing bikes. We'll see how it does at the track wish me luck im a little nervous.
A friendly criticism: the nonstop hand gesturing during the video is a detraction. Let your words stand alone. You are not the only one doing this. It seems to be a thing. As the gloves go on, the gesturing begins. I promise I say this without any animosity. Your review is comprehensive.
Great color! I like the 636 but the front is a bit too much Ninja 400 but that is just my personal opinion... after all it’s a great bike for a great price 🤘
ok I know they are not the same but kinda the same, but anyways APRILIA RS660 or KAWASAKI ZX6R? I started to consider the kawasaki because it is cheaper by like 2k-3k OTD. Please advise.
I’d go for the Aprilia.. all new tech, nice dash, more comfort.. but less power but also weighs 30lbs less than kawa.. will be reviewing 660 this week stay tuned.
@@PetroHead i cant wait for your review. Did you have the chance to ride it yet? Thank you for the swift reply! I did went and got a quote last friday and it is $14,053 OTD. Of course I got sticker shocked :(
RS660 = inline 2 = ew. I don't care if it's got great, useable power throughout; I fucking hate two bangers and I find the 3 and 4 cyclinder 600 class' death to be, quite frankly, sad.
I rode a 21 krt edition at a Kawasaki demo earlier this year. Before that I had my first ever ride on a sport bike at a Yamaha demo with the r7. Though I'm not built for a super sport (5'10 and 330 pounds) I fuckin loved the zx6r. It was so much god damn fun!! The power (even with my fat ass on it) was incredible!! Hopefully one day, before im to old to enjoy it, I'll be able to afford one of these sexy bitches!!
It actually takes more skill to get everything out of a 600 than to ride a liter bike on the street... any supersport/superbike is for advanced riders, but beginnners can certainnly ride them/learn on them.
I wouldn't recommend it. Half of the reason the insurance premiums are so high on the 600 class if because newbies buy them and squid up the streets. 600 is a lot of bike for someone new, with the perfect amount of power IMO for intermediate-experienced riders. Granted, my first street bike was a 600, but I'd ridden dirt for 15 years prior.
Same, fully modded. Then it got stolen. Man do I fucking hate living in Socal. I loved that bike so fucking much. Still salty about it 2 years later. I got a 2019 zx6r after which got stolen too but didn't care as much.

ZX6R you get more for your money. 636cc, quick shifter up, a little better street comfort, great brakes, Kawasaki sound. All for thousands less. If you find one with < 4000 miles for around 7-8k its a steal
I've had two litre bikes and always shunned the 600cc class for the street. That all changed after I bought a Daytona 675r. I have so much more fun on the street now than with a litre.
I would consider it if quick shifter was both up and down and there was steering dampening. Otherwise for mostly street riding there are better alternatives. Honda CBR600RR is also something to wait for.
lol bro...not everyone has a complete lack of knowledge of throttle/clutch control. these are fine as a first bike. but be my guest and waste your money on a 400 or 650 and be bored of it. some of us are just built different
@@PetroHead Its not. I made the mistake of getting a 650 to start on and personally I was bored of it after the first week. Granted Ive been racing modified atv's and cars since Ive been a kid. If you are mature and have basic knowledge of throttle/clutch (i get not all people know how to drive anything with a clutch) there is no reason you cant safely start on a 600. If you doubt yourself or think a 600 might be too much for you then dont do it.
