Would you like to see a shopping tour at the most expensive grocery store in Russia? 🤔. Now you can also support me with super thanks and sponsorship ❤️
This might be interesting, e.g. to see whether some Western items are still available despite the sanctions. Assume they might be found in more expensive grocery stores.
It is NOT interesting to know how wealthy people live in Piter , Moscow City and Rublyovka because that tells us and represents nothing ......It is more interesting to know how much housing costs and communal and local costs and taxes / ( жилищно-коммунальные услуги и платы ) ... What demographic has a mortgage and what demographic has to rent a appartment / how many people must live with parents / ... How much does housing cost for " " normal " " people in Smolensk - Irkutsk - Krasnoyarsk - Orsk - Tver etc ?
If the Nabiullina interest rate / банковская процентная ставка is 21 % ... what do most people pay NOW for a mortgage ....... and what do people pay to rent a two-room appartment ? Or is the 21% disaster mainly affecting businesses ?
@@HeadPack Unfortunately, the sanctions against Russia do not work, because there are too many corrupt companies that do not follow the rule of sanctions and the companies are only interested in their own profit. Despite this, poverty, prostitution and homelessness are growing dramatically in Russia. Russia is in total collapse situation and already millions of Russians have fled because of the terror- dictatorship and the war! The war caused by Russia, had leads to collapse and poverty right inside Russia, even if the brainwashed masses continues to denied and to ignored. Into the fact Russia has failed and Putler's fake empire has fallen like a castle build with sand!
Same prices as in a low budget store in Belgium. The only difference: I earn net 4.000 euros or 450.000 rubles a month as a teacher, 10 times more then my friends in Sankt Petersburg. Another video like this from a few months ago I use in my lessons to learn my hundreds of pupils how to look through cheap propaganda.
3500 I am so sorry your life is so bad. But that is what happens if you are a slave and live like a slave. My grandfather Vasily Safranovitch Grusinov tried to change that as mayor of Feodosia, and I hope to be able to do the same once Feodosia is part of a democratic country again.
you also have to consider prices will be the same from someone looking in. converted to euros for example. but the prices in rubles might be different from what it was some time ago. which means foreigners will not notice the difference but locals will. exactly 2 years ago 450000rubles is equals to 7650euros. but today your 450000rubles today is only 3775.62euros thats almost half.
Not to mention that there's definitely a difference in quality of the products (in favor of Belgium). So the price comparison isn't "apples to apples" in that respect either. Unless you literally compare similar, plain apples, I guess. Ha. But anyway, anything processed can be sub-par in Russia. Such as cheese definitely.
The only comparison that matters is what things cost compared to what people earn. What percentage of your income are you spending on these products? My father showed me his budget for 1 year in the 1950s and I laughed at how low the figures for expenses were until I saw his very low (but average) salary!
Im Germany his would be a cheap shop with expensive butter. But people here earn maybe five times of what the average Russian has at his disposal. Now I understand why people in Russia fight over butter.

@@АНДРЕЙ3500 there is a video showing Russians breaking into a store and stealing butter. Those are facts. Today I paid 3,5€ for 250 grams of butter here in Germany. It's expensive but not compared to what it costs in Russia right now.

As Indonesia these price still quite the same with Indonesia, so when Indonesians travel to Russia they will not be shocked by the prices there. In contrast to the situation of Indonesians when traveling to European Union countries or US where the value of their currency is much stronger, for Indonesians the European Union and US is an expensive country for Indonesians.
In my opinion, things are very expensive for you Russians. Why? Because i earn between 5 to 10 more than my colleagues in Russia doing the same job, even working more time per week, depending on where you live, in Moscow or in Kazan, for example. And the prices of many products are similar, sometimes higher or a bit lower… So, i can say, that i’ve resting more money in the end of each month from my salary, than my colleagues in Russia earn…
Products mostly similar, rent much lower - you better check how much money you can keep at the end of the month or better an year. Also different professions have different salaries in a different countries. For IT I can say that Russian salaries are on the same level as in Europe but less than in US. And a lot Russian companies let you work remotely, so you can pick any location you want, including a one with better climate or cheaper houses and live there.
@ If you would read my comment till the end, i wrote exactly this, “how much money you can keep till the end of each month”. So, you picked coincidentally one salary of the very few saleries, where in Russia you can earn a bit more and similar to some european countries…it’s a bad comparison, because for example my colleagues in Russia earn 4 to 8, till 10 times less, than here where i live!! And, i guess you know this, many russian salaries were growing only, because of the war and the war production… as a soldier and conscript you can earn more than in other places, therefore many men decided to give up their old jobs…or working for the war production. Ant other places had to grow up their salaries, even if they couldn’t …because if not, these men leave these jobs. But what will be, when the war production will end…40% of Russians working for, plus the resting soldiers, coming back, then searching for “non existing” jobs … salaries will get much lower, actually no unemployment, where you get workers etc etc etc…many big problems Russia will have soon. My best friend is living in SP…studying medicine. I know, what her mother earns, and how much the prices are growing for groceries, rent and life. She gets 3.50€/h for working as a dental assistant, paying 380,-€/month for ~17m2! Psychologically, i won’t start talking, what it means to study in Russia now… So, please, feel lucky, that you are working in IT, but i could tell you a bit more about Russia and how people, especially out of Moscow or SP, are living…and i guess, it will worsen more and more… PS I have between 1000,- and 3000,-€ restening, each month…but money isn’t important to me…for me is important not to live in a place, where children are constantly in contact with war, joining the russian Unarmia as the biggest children army worldwide. Militarisation at its best…Kyrill praising them…as an IT you are the winner, as a soldier you are a heroe (often a dead one), but the rest of the people doesn’t matter…
@@pat-2024 you know nothing about Russia, but have so many fake thoughts about it, especiall last part which sounds as a dads joke. Most doctors in Russia have low salaries during their study and first years of career, however if you check students cars parked next to dentist university you will be surprised, because it is rich family children and their parents made money as a dentists. But before you get real money you have to study and work hard. All my classmates(40+) earns enough to buy a flat and a car for the family. Thanks for an interesting video! I have surmised from other channels that the Russian society take good care of the poorest people and families. Like that families and retired people may get reduced rent and so on. It would be interesting to know about if you lose your job what is the social security? How much do you pay at the hospital and for medicins? Cost of education. I think these are things that shows the quality of a country, how you care for people in trouble as an example.
I have not read the comments but it is very likely that not a single one of us is rich. We try to get the best prices too. We struggle too. If someone thinks that they are better than you because they have more money, fuck them. All people were created equal in the eyes of God and His opinion is the only one that is important.
There is nothing wrong at all with trying to get goods and services at the lowest price. Many Americans who could afford to shop at higher-end stores shop at Walmart, where prices tend to be lower than many places. We live in a very expensive area, could never be able to live on $130/month, or even many multiples of that. And we shop for food at a military commissary, where food is sold at cost, plus a 5% surcharge. Overall much cheaper than shopping downtown.
People please remember that the value of the russian ruble has halved. So if you like to compare those prices with your local grocery store, you need to about double all the prices shown. Salaries in russia are also lower. It is not that cheap for russians.
For me as Indonesian, price in Russia almost similar with here. Since 1 ruble is only around 170 rupiah currently, so the price difference is not too significant. In contrast, when Indonesians are in the European Union or the United States, everything feels very, very expensive because €1 is equivalent to 17,000 rupiah or $1 is equivalent to 16,000 rupiah.
@@yourdeal2408 It depends what countries we compare and what income level. We can find median and average incomes on every country from the Internet. We can also find income tax rates based on annual salary from each country. Countries that does not have progressive income tax are way easier to compare. For example in USA income tax seems to be close to russian 13% with salaris up to 100k$/per year. In russian average salary seems to be about 15k$. I would choose 70k$ average salary in USA in this situation. I rounded these numbers, so these are not precise.
no it depend on what taxes you pay I come from a country with one of thehighest salaries i the EU but we have also the highest income taxes and thousend other taxes to harrash people We even have tax on the amount rainwater that fall in our garden ................. Russian people have more purswchase power then we
@ Which country you mean? I would like to check that by myself. That rainwater tax cant be more than 100-200€ per year. In russia it also varies a lot where you live. State covers lots of the costs in few regions, rest are pretty much left alone to suffer. Russian taxation system for businesses is very different than in EU and people in Moscow never complain about it. You can guess why.

I live in the US and my rent is $1200, utilities $250, and insurance $25. My rent will increase to $1,500 on December 1. So to answer your question, I could not live on $130 a month.
How much do you earn? And you have the whole big, rich country like the USA to look for better opportunities. In Russia, people earn well in Moscow and St. Petersburg - and that's all. Now in Russia only people with ties to the army earn well.
That is about the same as an unemployed 18yo would receive from the government if they were unemployed in Australia. Butter is around 12 usd a kilo and minimum wage for an 18yo or older worker is 20usd an hour plus full benefits including 2 dollars an hour paid into retirement plan and 4 weeks paid holiday if a worker completes 36 hours a week for 11 months. Hi Natasha! So nice to see you again. Love these shopping comparisons during the sanctions for sure. Keep them coming…hope these sanctions end soon. God bless you my dear…
The sanctions will outlast the war for some time. It will be very expensive and difficult for the citizens of Russia and Belarus to travel to the West.
Butter with 72,5% fat here isn’t called BUTTER!! And it was a package of only 180gr! So, take the kilo price if you wanna compare it well! Here, 250gr of this spreadable fat cost 130,- Rubel, and therefore, it’s much cheaper than in Russia!
Our cheapest Vodka prices in Holland are €3,49 to €129,99 (Red Army AK-47 Vodka) gift set, I don’t drink alcohol but I will sleep for 5 months if I try it 😅
Again, converting to dollars doesn't make much sense, since the ruble is getting worse and worse daily so it seems like this is equivalent to fewer and fewer dollars, but a much better comparison would be how much the same products where priced in rubles in the past.
Hi Natasha, You're absolutely right about how societies like the U.S. want to categorize people in believing that rich people are good, talented, honest, and intelligent and moral while poor people are bad, possess little or no talent, unmotivated, lazy, dishonest, or criminals and not very smart, or have a low IQ. Other countries also do this but the U.S. is the best in doing that.
These supermarkets remind me of e.g. Netto or the now-closed Aldi here in Denmark. Interesting to see these books sold very cheaply. Big print series and authors, that have died centuries ago (and therefore don't have to be paid) are probably the reasons behind the cheap prices.
Great idea, Natacha, pls, do a video of how much You can save, by buying the cheapest food available, but please don't do like others - show us what You would usualy buy, pick the cheapest alternative. do it for a month, and then share Your thoughts with us. Do it after Christmas, and an added benefit is, that You probably just earned enough to cover the expensive holidays, and Your viewers learn to get trough a small crisis ;-)
No woman, no cry. Drink Vodka and fly.😂 Never heard that expression before. Thank you for the interesting and detailed video.👌🏻👍🏻🙂 Yes, it would be interesting to see living on $130 a mouth challenge. Your prices are much cheap, than here. ❤🇷🇺 Beautiful and stunning thumbnail photo, btw.
You would have to own an apartment in Russia; I think it makes the most sense. You should save until you can buy one because 35 dollars a month is an unbelievable cost. So very low! And if you can buy food for $135 a month, wow. So you can live on $200 a month if you have to. No safety net if unemployed? We only have a six-month unemployment benefit. Your healthcare is probably low. I cannot figure out your food prices except for the chicken. We can buy chicken at $1.99 to $2.99 a pound on sale. Usually it is $3.99 per pound; around there. Ground beef five or six dollars a pound. A pound of butter is usually 4.99, dozen eggs the same. Cheese anywhere from 5 dollars a pound on sale to eight or nine dollars a pound, depending on what type. Our salaries are high in this area (one hour from New York City by train) but rents and taxes on housing are astronomical, gas and electric about $700 plus a month, taxes on housing (not including mortgages) between eight thousand (lowest) to seventeen thousand a year for a three- or four-bedroom house, regular house, not fancy. Mortgages in my area are $700,000 and up. You can find a starter home for 599,000 sometimes. Rents about $,2,600 a month for a one bedroom. Internet about 90 a month. Most couples earn at least 150,000 a year, but taxes come out of that. That would be a lower middle-class salary; I think most couples earn more. To give you an idea of payroll taxes, if you earn 100,000 a year you would take home 2,400 every two weeks after taxes. If you earn $65,000 a year you would take home $1,500 every two weeks after taxes approximately. Find a French man, Natasha, lol. Best healthcare in the world, great social benefits, beautiful country with wonderful art and great climate and I believe the French live well on their salaries and the rents are reasonable, comparatively. You are a beautiful girl, very domestic, and there is obviously a shortage of young men in Russia and the man shortage has gotten worse in the past two years.
All around the world, average people trying to live a decent life and live as comfortably as they can on the income that they have. The vast majority of people are not rich. They just get by on what they have.
Hi Nat, always happy to see your vlog pop up in the feed. Did you say Russian pensioners live on $130 / month. If so they need a pay upgrade. Our Australian government give us about $2200 / month. AUD that is. I think one AUD is 65 cents USD. We also have FAIRY dish wash liquid. It is $5.50 / 450 ml. I had a look in the super market today. Butter was $4 AUD/ 250g. So Russian Cows and Fairies work cheaper than here in Australia. Don’t want to see you living on $130 / month….that sounds a bit cringey rather than funny. Because I’m Australian I would like you to take us to the beach should there be one nearby. And God bless you too dear.❤
$130/month? It costs me 8 times that just to heat my family home and cook! Still, it was a useful indicator and would be more useful for knowing how much people earn each month. It was still useful - I worry about friends in Russia.
I earn $1,153 per month, I paid $8 for heating the house per month, I paid $4.8 for electricity used during the month. I paid $4 for unlimited high-speed Internet in the house per month, I paid $3.2 for mobile communication with unlimited Internet per month. I paid $0 for a month of using digital television with 112 channels. I paid $0.9 for using the Internet cinema and watching new films. I paid $0.7 for waste disposal. I paid $2.2 for 3 cubic meters of cold water, I paid $2.9 for 1.5 cubic meters of hot water.

@ the 4:45 mark on your video, you said you could live on 130$ (13000 rub at today's rate of 100 rub / $) for a month Even if u lived in your own apartment and did not have to pay rent, you still have to pay for utilities (water, power & heating) Suppose you lived in the smallest studio apt of 35 to 40 sq.m, your utilities would be around 2000 minimum. If you and drink as much as a normal adult, at current prices, you will run out of money in max 2 weeks. No way, you will stretch 11000 for 4 weeks, unless you are just living on biscuits and tea.. (what I mean is very basic meals like 2 min noodles, etc.) And god forbid, if you were to fall ill and had to buy medicines.. or had to use a taxi for some emergency or urgent work.. that 13000 minus utility stash would evaporate in days.. not weeks

The falling value of the ruble in relation to the dollar and the yuan will cause constant increases in the prices of imported goods. 6. This might be interesting, e.g. to see whether some Western items are still available despite the sanctions. Assume they might be found in more expensive grocery stores.
for the most expensive store in Russia you also need a ticket to Moscow 😂
Or is the 21% disaster mainly affecting businesses ?

you also have to consider prices will be the same from someone looking in. converted to euros for example. but the prices in rubles might be different from what it was some time ago. which means foreigners will not notice the difference but locals will. exactly 2 years ago 450000rubles is equals to 7650euros. but today your 450000rubles today is only 3775.62euros thats almost half.

And the prices of many products are similar, sometimes higher or a bit lower…
So, i can say, that i’ve resting more money in the end of each month from my salary, than my colleagues in Russia earn…
And, i guess you know this, many russian salaries were growing only, because of the war and the war production…
as a soldier and conscript you can earn more than in other places, therefore many men decided to give up their old jobs…or working for the war production.
Psychologically, i won’t start talking, what it means to study in Russia now…
So, please, feel lucky, that you are working in IT, but i could tell you a bit more about Russia and how people, especially out of Moscow or SP, are living…and i guess, it will worsen more and more…
PS I have between 1000,- and 3000,-€ restening, each month…but money isn’t important to me…for me is important not to live in a place, where children are constantly in contact with war, joining the russian Unarmia as the biggest children army worldwide.
But before you get real money you have to study and work hard.

In contrast, when Indonesians are in the European Union or the United States, everything feels very, very expensive because €1 is equivalent to 17,000 rupiah or $1 is equivalent to 16,000 rupiah.
taxes are also lower in Russia
What use is your high wages if you pay high taxes
@@yourdeal2408 It depends what countries we compare and what income level. We can find median and average incomes on every country from the Internet. We can also find income tax rates based on annual salary from each country. Countries that does not have progressive income tax are way easier to compare. For example in USA income tax seems to be close to russian 13% with salaris up to 100k$/per year. In russian average salary seems to be about 15k$. I would choose 70k$ average salary in USA in this situation. I rounded these numbers, so these are not precise.

How much do you earn? And you have the whole big, rich country like the USA to look for better opportunities. In Russia, people earn well in Moscow and St. Petersburg - and that's all. Now in Russia only people with ties to the army earn well.

I would like to drink Coca-Cola imported from different countries and compare the taste.

Even if u lived in your own apartment and did not have to pay rent, you still have to pay for utilities (water, power & heating)
Suppose you lived in the smallest studio apt of 35 to 40 sq.m, your utilities would be around 2000 minimum. If you and drink as much as a normal adult, at current prices, you will run out of money in max 2 weeks. No way, you will stretch 11000 for 4 weeks, unless you are just living on biscuits and tea.. And god forbid, if you were to fall ill and had to buy medicines.. or had to use a taxi for some emergency or urgent work.. that 13000 minus utility stash would evaporate in days.. not weeks

Thank you Natasha ! Really interesting video. Would you say prices has grown mytch higher for food products since January? Tjey say for exemplet that Meat is some 35% more expensive. Potatos 65% more expensive etc. Do you think that is correct information?
Potatoes no, meat got higher but I can’t say about %. Depends on a store :)
Bigger stores have to charge more because their expenses are higher.

Hello, thanks for your report. The prices shown in the cheap grocery store are not very different from a similar supermarket in the UK. However our level of income is far higher. We do have the more major living expenses at a much higher level than in Russia such as local taxes, Utilities, Insurance etc etc so you need a minimum income in the order of $2000 / month to have an acceptable life style. As with your own situation, owning your own house makes it much easier.
Our income levels UK are SEVEN times higher than in ( N azsty ) Fashistskaya Federatsiya ...they are guilty and should never have voted in The Second Hilter as President
Do they have the option to buy high quality eggs directly from a farmer or very good organic eggs? Not just the factory cheap eggs.
I plan to make a video with farming food 😉
That will be interesting. American producers treat livestock really poorly.
@@sjwolf3836 Aww, come on now... We give our cattle plenty of company to spend their days and nights with, in the cosiest living quarters allowed by law. And we don't make them subsist on some green weed coming out of the ground -- not while there's plenty of corn to feed them on.
I want to respond with it’s also good that US corn is not 100% GMO and doused with glyphosate, but I suspect the humor won’t be completely received.
Just curious, what percentage of the average Russian income is spent on food? In USA 🇺🇸, we currently spend 11.3% which is the highest it’s been for years, thanks to Biden and the liberals. I think if you explained that your followers would have a better understanding how the cost effects their livelihood. Thanks
One can only hope the prices go higher. G

I am single and live in western Colorado and my bills are $11,000 a month. It's crazy you can live on that amount
Those affordable grocery stores are live savers for many , there is nothing to be ashamed of , most people in the west don't own apartments/houses , i think you would do great with 130 "dollars" a month if you don't have to pay rent , technically you could eat chicken everyday if it's just 3 dollars per kg
It is funny to see vodka sold with Finnish connotations "Finsky Ice" when it has nothing to do with Finland.
nothing shocking, just normal prices, but when oil and gas export soon completely stops then it will be really shocking. this is how it was in serbia in ´90s when sanctions really started to kick in: ua-cam.com/video/6go8Q6tsNus/v-deo.html
Really enjoyed watching this video. As a student in Russia, now I know where to go to for grocery-shopping at a low price!
Thanks so much ! 😊
Nice idea! Unfortunately, we didn’t have such chains when I was a student 🥲
The average monthly wage in Russia is 400 dollars yes that low , Russians spend most of their wages on food

Inflation ravages whatever country it hits. There is inflation in the US also but the Putin War against Ukraine is complicating the problems in Russian. Economic sanctions and a Huge War Spending has taken money away from areas that would help the average Russian.
In my country we have much higher minimum wage by law
Funny ,my russian friends ,telling me another story, nice propa.

It’s the cheapest supermarket. There are higher prices too
I hope prices in Russia will soon double or triple.

A lot cheaper than in Melbourne, Australia.
Nice to see $0.9 cooking oil in russia. I would buy 10 of them if I saw that price in my estonia. Here it's between $3 and $4.

I'm from Poland and not a fan of today's Russia but I applaud being frugal and not buying overpriced products and going to cheaper stores no matter if person is rich or poor. Thank you for the butter price - in Poland this product is called spread because product can't be called butter unless it's at least 82% milk/cream fat. In Poland real 82% 200g cream butter got more expensive - 96 rubels price is not everyday but once a week there is discount with this price, everyday price is 175 rubels but it's 200g 82% cream butter (Сливочное масло)
This is propaganda
how is this propaganda? please explain...
@wlhjr77 when you look at other channels, like Headshot, for example, that talk with people on streets or in villages almost 95% of them complain the utilities are super expensive, they cannot afford basically anything other than the most necessary stuff. Unless you live in Moscow you are poor.

@@amateuramateur250 1. real inflation (not the one reported on Russian TV) especially on food products is growing faster (35% ) than indexing of earnings, i.e. 15% (military industry).
2. Most Russians rather have loans than deposits.
3. It should be expected that the government in the new year will restrict free disposal of deposits (currently such a doctrine is being prepared by the Russian government).
4 Indexing of wages is large only in professions related to the military industry.
5. The falling value of the ruble in relation to the dollar and the yuan will cause constant increases in the prices of imported goods.
6. The december increase in interest rates to 22-23% will cause a wave of bankruptcies in the middle of the 2025 because companies will not be able to take loans for investments, renovations or purchase of machinery.
7. From the new year the cost of rail transport will increase by about 15% which of course will increase the price of all products.
8. In 2025, further sanctions will be imposed (e.g. on the shadow fleet, LNG transport will be limited), the EU will withdraw from purchases via the Yamal gas pipeline.
9. I will not mention the standard New Year increases.
