    My early season work has focused on cutting out the hip sway, keeping my upper body still, applying right foot pressure for power, and the core turn in progress toward an easy, simple, repeatable, effortless swing. Clearing out the restrictions due to a faulty address has been the key to opening up my body to flow through the swing. As you so eloquently have discussed here, where the left hip is pointed at the start dictates that flow in the windup. Great tips for using the wall for one part and threading the alignment stick through the belt loops as a guide, which is useful on the range. I'd add using the whip helps with feedback on all of this, too. Great stuff, Alex!

      This is great thank you! Yes unfortunately golf instruction often focuses on symptom repairing rather than the cause

    It's amazing how often the swing falls down when the very basics are not correct. Thanks for the reminder. Very timely for me!

    This is the tip I needed for the past several years. I have been trying to change my swing to reduce reliance on my arms now that I am 69 years old. The instructors I have been watching online have confounded me so badly that I have about 20 swing thoughts running through my mind now when I get over the ball. I was struggling with trying to rotate my body. Thank you Alex for this great tip

    I needed this tip about a month ago when I started on the range, my left side is aching. I'll try and remember this for Friday. (Yes I'm playing even though I'm hurting, I've got the golf bug again after 14years of not playing)

    Isnt this the exact setup that in stack and tilt is taught?
    Beautifully explained btw! Thanks a lot. Fonna try to pay more attention to this way of addresing.

      No not really. It’s not as severe or rigid but I’m not qualified in S&T to say conclusively

    This set up really helps me turn into my right side on the backswing. It feels like my weight is moving to the inside of my right foot and that the right leg is straightening as I take the club back. Is this what I should be feeling?

    Would you say this is a hip bump? Also does the weight Stay on the hip with the back swing, or do i transfer it to the back foot????

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  Місяць тому

      Weight shifts yes. It’s not really a bump. We don’t need to bump if we set correctly (at least for most golfers and simplicity)

    Some say right elbow must be higher than left elbow. This set up adjustment makes that impossible.. Smh

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  Місяць тому

      When should the elbow be higher? And the shoulder tilt should not increase by the pelvis moving 2 inch up and forward
