Steve jobs cared about the products! The biggest difference with Apple now.
This is similar to the Chinese proverb (translation) "The upper beam is crooked, the lower beam follows", our forefathers had taught us thousands of years ago. While crooked here can mean unjust, corrupt, evil, selfish, etc. Hence, largely, it is applicable to many context, e.g., in a country, in a company, in a community, in a family,...so on. It's perpetual.

I’m pretty sure this comes from right around the time when Jobs was brought back to Apple from Next. Like right around the iMac G3/iPod/Mac OS X era. And I think it’s pretty safe to say that they basically nailed it. I think you could question if they are still nailing it now the way they did then, but that’s a separate story
