They are good batteries although they are expensive, ignore the C-rate they are very powerful. I use them in my Tamiya TT02 they are amazing.
You've done us proud with this one, awesome looking car. Pity they always put the motor hanging out the back like that, good for wheelies but that's not really what we want is it. Still very nice to get one on the channel.

Yeah its just an rc car. Drive it ,shelf queens are lame.
They rarely make changes to existing models over 20 years, I doubt for one second that this will stay limited, it will be released as a normal model with crappy graphics before long.

True traxxas almost never updates anything. Instead they slap a different body on it and call it “NEW” ( *cough Trx4 cough). What I would love to see: a lateral prerunner with 4 link trailing arm rear, like a baby UDR. I would buy one.
That motor transmission setup would be the perfect start to making a scale outboard boat motor
2:13 - they're mock friction dampers, Phil. Before telescopic hydraulic dampers, we had these rotary friction units. Traxxas have taken advantage of the need to include them and hidden the suspension springs in there

I'm amazed at how well that car went on the sand. Something that it isn't designed for. Oh, I think those suspension things are called torsion springs. The VXL system is fun in a Slash, that's where I put mine after trying it out in my Hornet. It was pointless in the Hornet. Backflips all day.

They were built to run on salt, I believe... In a desert in the US. 😬
They were run on dirt tracks and sometimes sand beaches here

The rooster tails of sand coming off the paddle tyres looked awesome!!
This has given me an idea to sway the new brushless Zorro chassis with my son's brushed one, shove some paddles on that and send it on the beach.
Great looking car that 1920's racer. It would be good to see some other manufacturers thinking outside the box. 👍🏻

These things are so cool. What made them bad ass in real life is they could run the Indy 500 one day and the next show up at a half mile dirt track.

To me this sums up 'hobby' perfectly. Modify something to have some fun and go and have a blast with it. Limited edition to me doesnt mean it stays pristine or standard. Its your to do as you want and make it to your tastes 👍

That drives remarkably well given the straight axles and friction type dampers/springs, etc.
I have a full size '55 Chevy, Gasser-style hot rod. It's got a live rear axle on ladder bars & panhard rod, and a solid drop tube front axle on 4 links with panhard rod (was IFS on double A arms originally). Coilovers all round. It handles surprisingly well on A & B roads for a car with solid axles at both ends.
I wonder if Traxxarse will launch a Model A or Model B Ford 3 or 5 window coupe, early '50s style Hot Rod on a similar chassis as the Snap On car?
I hope they release some cool stuff on the platform 🤞🏻

I'm not going to lie, I thought this limited edition sprint car was cool but nowhere deserving of the hype everyone had on it. Love seeing things getting life by being used.

the charger will charge any 2S or 3S battery as long as you have the adapter to plug it in. the badge comes off the front of the charger to reveal the balance ports. if you hold the 2 bottom buttons it puts it in universal mode. i love my traxxas charger.

I do have many Traxxas vehicles as I thoroughly enjoyed watching you bash this thing on the beach! My local hobby shop has one on display, but I think it’s the owner’s personal one. If it ever comes up for sale I will buy it and to unthinkable hop ups to it!

I think it'd be a helluva time trying to eek out the required steering angle, the design severely limits how much angle (particularly to the left) you can get out of it. But if anyone can figure it out, its the purple drifty dude!
That was pretty cool Phil , imagine running two sets of the rear paddle tyres on it front and back ,absolute beast .
Those few seconds after 13:53 has to be some of the coolest rc footage ever. I had to skip back and watch that a couple of times. Wow!
Had a couple local guys do a brushless conversion and get 60MPH out of them on the drag slash wheels/tires. I just dont have the heart to mod mine. Shame as its mostly an over priced shelf queen lol When these cars came out i spoke to Traxxas and they said they had no plans of making a production one since they are so fragile. That being said, while they have parts available they are free. Just send them a picture of the broken part and they will send you a new part! :)
Aren’t those torsion springs? You should be able to just tighten them up to stiffen the overall spring rate

Hey Tomley! In regards to your comment about it being the fastest bl-2s, all the 2wd ones are that fast. The slash will hit about 29 stock and the rustler will hit about 34 stock. They move for the price! With the optional high speed gearing they will hit the claimed box speed as well.

I'm drooling all over this one, it's the nicest RC model I've seen! Hope they release a normal model, I'd definitely buy it. That tail acts like a rudder in the sand when it wheelies, lol.
One day I will get my hands on one and handmake full alu parts for the chassis.... I have already made 3D printable rims and wheels with metal spokes that would be perfect for it...

You gotta hand it to them, for such an unusual and retro design, it seems to handle pretty well in various scenarios.

I can see this looking good in a variety of colours but as soon as i saw the Car i thought Spitfire. If possible, a Pilot figure driving. It seems made for those colours?
So what you're saying is I would have been kicking myself if I did get the Snap-On truck x-max because I would have broke it and then I would have been like oh crap it's worth a bunch of money. But in the future I should get the Traxxas cars off the snap-on truck and keep them in the box (keeping a toy in the box sounds so wrong)

That car was awesome on sand i wouldnt have expected it to be anywhere near as good to be honest. Its definitely a platform with potential. Will be cool if traxxas do something else with it. Great video as usual😎👍🏼

Ask your local Snap On dealer.... lifetime warranty, see if that front suspension is dodgy from factory! 😂 Can remember seeing these on the flyers we got from a dealer (I'm in the trade) and knew they'd be a fortune!! 😂
