Utah Power and Light Sub-station at Bingham

Utah Power and Light Sub-station at Bingham was built high on the hillside above the town, this is because, in the narrow canyon at Bingham, property was scarce. The road to the substation went behind buildings and houses then up a steep road. It was just above the Montana-Bingham mine and dump, later in this spot they will build BHS, that will later become Bingham’s central grade school. An interesting letter from the destruction said, the substation was tied into the line, at one time, that apparently crossed the Oquirrh mountains from the Jordan Narrows, in fact the line was called the Jordan Narrows Line.

I had family live there. the Children would ride a bucket up the a waiting school wagon. cook with a gasoline stove. 1800s
