- Buy my new book Bingham Canyon, help keep Bingham’s history alive. Heading West toward Bingham through Copperton down the hill you come to the little town of Lead Mine, it is a ghost town now once had a few businesses a few houses and one-time home of the precipitation plant where leaching process tool place. The road stops here the canyon filled in with overburden. Became a ghost town with the success of the Bingham Canyon mine Rio Tinto Kennecott. We take a look as it is now and show pictures of its past. Thanks to Larry Sax, Don Strack (utahrails.net) for permission to use pictures. Some interesting comments after posting (Lead Mine another Utah Ghost Town). The first picture from the Tribune negatives, July 15, 1964 strike, John Saltas (City Weekly) (The woman driving by waving is my mom, Stella Saltas in our 61 Plymouth). Second picture from the Larry Sax collection (utahrails.net) Terry Jones comments (in fact there was a picture of me washing the top deck of the P Module).
Thanks for all the studying and work that went into this!
Thank you for the nice comment I love all this Bingham area History I hope that shows in my videos.
Did anyone notice the old clock ticking in the background?
That’s awesome, the clock.
Thanks for noticing, I didn't until my Grandkids told me. I have 2 clocks in the room now, so I had to move to another room to record.
@@binghamcanyonandcopperking6339 the background of clocks ticking is awesome. Let it be.

Thank You friend.

Thank You for your support and comment!
I am in the rebuild of the crusher at this time. I have been providing the concrete for the new crusher. Yes they are building a new conveyer to join with the older one.
That is real neat, you are right in the thick of things at the mine, I bet it is a big thick piece of concrete to support the crusher.
I just discovered this channel. We love Bingham Canyon!
