Patience paid off and with Dave catching that creek chub the confidence level went up 💯. And then you landed that first brownie and then another. So cool locating a new trout fishing hole. And not cool about the litter bugs but cool that you care enough to pick up their trash. Thanks Ethan 👍
It was a fun trip. Finding bass in a new hole is always fun but not really surprising. Any time I find a new trout spot, I am obviously thrilled. Much harder fish to locate!
Great video. When the ice melts, pick up a Rapala UL Minnow and replace the trebles with some inlines, they're killer for trout and almost everything else. Caught 17 in one day on silver, they make rainbow trout and brown trout colors for it too. My favorite bait for shallow water
@@FishAnything The VMC Inline Single 1X in the size 4 since it's the same size as the stock hooks. But there's other hooks that you could buy such as Owner which you can buy at Tackle Warehouse and you can find the VMC hooks at the Rapala website
@@FishAnything I just went threw my tackle box and saw the inline hooks I got and I made a mistake with saying size 4 is the same. It's size 6 hooks but I apologize for my mistake. Hope you didn't order anything yet but it'll probably still work
Try to find some streams/creeks which connect to it and are usually smaller water. Maybe since the main stream is flooded, you’ll find fish in the smaller arms. Sorry you’ve got tough conditions!
Hey thanks man! Looks like you are going through the same process I went through last year. Takes a while to get used to but you will start smashing them now that you are starting to figure them out :)
The "Rod Butt Bump" is hereafter officially a thing. Don't have Frogg Togg waders but I have put miles on a set of their rain gear (and hat) fishing, hunting and hobby farming. The insect was a midge. Larval form is a LITTLE RED WORMLIKE guy known as a "bloodworm". ;-). Thanks again for picking up after slobs.
WELL SON OF A GUN that explains why the Red Honey Worm kills it! I guarantee that is what they think it is when they eat. Makes me wonder if I should try a little skinnier worm next time. Lots of stuff to try, thanks for the comment my friend.
Your 1/80th oz Mule jigs aren't far from a Tungsten bead San Juan worm (midge larva "nymph" fly). F/F purists might not like to acknowledge it but there's a BIG overlap anymore in UL spinning and fly fishing. 3.5 lb test is 6X - about as fine as F/F leaders go. 7X is 2.5 lbs. I fish 2 lb test in my Quantun XL/1 UL spinning reels and have caught 4# largemouth in micro jigs. 1/16 oz cone head streamers are much heavier than some of the UL spinning jigs I toss. If I disappear it is because the Tweed Illuminati has expunged me for revealing this.
Thanks Ethan for picking up the trash. I do the same thing. It’s possible that the wind blew it into the Creek. Why people would just dump their trash instead of bringing it out with them is just Mind boggling. Glad you and Dave were able to catch some fish, Dave’s looked about 13”. Thanks for the Entertainment.
Thanks Dave! Yeah it’s possible but where it was located seemed to be people tossing it out their car window as it’s right by a road. Regardless, it’s sad it finds it’s way into our beautiful waters 😢
I really wish I had the time and determination to fish like that. I really miss going fishing and catching some big ones. I do need an ultralight combo, though.
can you please do a video on the lunkerhunt maybugs. size 1.5 inches and colors black, olive, pink and white. great for trout, panfish and crappies. great video
@@FishAnythingfor sure! Mine has taken some abuse in its time. A few 12-14 inch Crappie, to a 16 inch Smallmouth, and even fought a 25 inch Pike in with it before. Handled them all well.
Good deal picking up the trash. I hate it when people leave their trash everywhere. I guess they must think their mommas are going to come by and clean up after them. Some people have no respect. I'd hate to see their houses. Anyways, trout are always a welcome addition to any fishing trip.
In February I'm moving out to Tahoe for boarding school and I'm looking for a ultra light rod to accompany my fly rod. I found the Daiwa rod your using but its not in stock anywhere. Do you have any recommendations?
That is awesome! I hope you enjoy Tahoe. I have been there a few times and it is beautiful! I love my daiwa rod but there are plenty of good budget options out there. I also like my Shimano Sojourn 5' UL if you can find one of those?
Such a pretty creek then you see garbage!!!! It kinda looks like storm run off garbage????? I watched a car throw a drive thru sack out and stuff fly everywhere!!!! I could not catch up with them!!! I was more than a little angry!!!!!
👍 nice trout! Thnx for cleaning up!
We all need to do our part! And thanks them trout are always a blast :)
Thanks for cleanin up after whoever left their garbage there. Also beautiful fish, and wonderful little stream. Its just so fun exploring new spots!
I absolutely love pursuing new waters! It can bite me but the days like this make it all worthwhile 🤠

I have a couple of them! What hooks specifically do you like??

Lucky guy, I wish I could go fishing with you for trout I can’t catch any fish in my river it’s so flooded

Just caught my first 3 trout yesterday! Using tactics learned from your vids of course! Thanks for taking us along again!!!
THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY! Nice work 🤠
@@FishAnything Thanks so much! Gave you a shout out in the video too haha! Keep on fishing my man!

🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
1st strike jitters. We all get them from time to time
Lol sooooo true XD
My man! another great video! Much love!
Thanks buddy! It was a blast exploring yet another creek :)
Oh heck yeah lets go!!!!
🤠🕺🏼 woot woot
Those are some midge flies! They hatch on overcast days in the winter. Look at zebra midge flies. Smoked the trout in Colroado with it
OOOOOOOH this is good intel. Thanks Parker!
Awesome trip!!!!
Thanks buddy 🤠
I really wish I had the time and determination to fish like that. I really miss going fishing and catching some big ones. I do need an ultralight combo, though.
Definitely recommend ultralight! And you can still catch fish with limited time. Most of my fishing trips are only 1-2 hours in total length!
can you please do a video on the lunkerhunt maybugs. size 1.5 inches and colors black, olive, pink and white. great for trout, panfish and crappies. great video
Literally have a few of them. Was planning on it :)
Great minds think alike!
Dave’s a lucky duck to get to fish with you Ethan :) looks like a blast
One of these days, hopefully I will get down to your area so you can put me on some of them big ol' FL Bass :)
@@FishAnything would love that bud
I have the 7ft Defy Silver. It's my fave UL rod!
Nice! I will have to try it one of these days. Felt like a solid little UL!
@@FishAnythingfor sure! Mine has taken some abuse in its time. A few 12-14 inch Crappie, to a 16 inch Smallmouth, and even fought a 25 inch Pike in with it before. Handled them all well.
I gotta admit, those are some tasty looking trout. Not saying I would have kept them, but it would be tempting.
Honestly I should keep a fish or two one of these days 🤠
you should make review on your ultra light set up or set ups one day ,,, thank you very much :)
I will definitely keep this in mind! For now, you can see more info on my Daiwa Revros UL reel here: ua-cam.com/video/y1_4M54wzeU/v-deo.html
Midges or maybe small stoneflies? Keep up the trout slaying action
Will do! :)
👊
👊🏽🤠
Tree pounders are no match for two pound test and a strong drag!!!!
Lol dang right Charles!
@@FishAnything also, thanks because while not fishing I'm buying gear and tackle! I've decided I need a new ultralight setup. 🤣
Lol happy to help buddy XD
Thats a shame about the hip waders. Guess I will stick with my Schmuck boots for a bit longer lol
Lol yeah I’ll let you know if frogg toggs sets me up with new ones

Yeah litterbugs are lame. And I was pumped to find the trout - such beautiful fish!

I caught a nice 17" rainbow today.
Along with several small browns.
I love catching trout.

I have no idea how it got there but something tells me it is litter from someone tossing it out the window. Regardless, no excuses to litter!
Yay me lmao
Yay for Dave! 🤠👊🏽
Love the Name DAVE
