Whereas Maestro Ilayaraja has COMPOSED for FREE or LESS compensation for SEVERAL directors/producers including Mani Ratnam, P. Vasu, Pratap Pothan, Santhana Bharathi etc. just to HELP them and uplift their careers! ALL the singers, music directors and lyricists are receiving royalty. It was SPB who said he will NOT sing Ilayaraja songs again, and NOT the other way round.
That is just the "image" the stupid MEDIA and some toxic people in the industry have painted about Ilayaraja. Despite all that, they patched up in 2019 after which IR and SPB have done at least 4 concerts together and ILAYARAJA GAVE SPB one song in his new movie in 2020. Just SHUT UP and know the TRUTH, instead of spewing venom on Ilayaraja. Like K. J. Yesudas said "IF there is NO CREATOR (Composer), there is no producer (singer)"!!!!!!
