I had that equipment in the past and although it was very interesting, I sold it... the most I liked was that you could configure the USB or HDMI output to Program
How can you see camera 1 and 2, one on the top left and other on the top right ? I connected them I can only see 1 camera at the time(same cam on the right and left side) Thanks.
I don't believe you mention what framerates and/or image sizes it handles. You didn't show a clear view of the ports of the back of the unit but I'm assuming there is 1 HDMI out, right? How does the output compare to other switchers? I didn't see you show any output from the device, any reason for that?
nice review! 1 thing I would add is that I highly recommend that you update the firmware as it fixes a lot of bugs and adds features. Other than this switcher, have you seen the new Feelworld L4 with 5 inputs and a 10.1 inch ttouch screen. Might purchase it with the 4K PTZ though there's not a single review video about it yet. Hoping you could get your hands on it first and see how it is :D
I think this is just a little too late for me. If this had been around a couple of years ago then I'd have probably gone with it and ended up with a very different setup to what I have now. But there's not enough here to make me want to give up my Streamdeck/Companion controls, full screen multiview, audio input with delay to match the video, and direct streaming. I'll stick with my ATEM thanks.
Solid review! Ordered mine! Question....have you ever tried using any third party stylus?. Occasionally, it seems that it can take a couple tries to execute the command, and thinking a pen could increase accuracy. sbbd!
The display is helpful, but this slow user interface was driving me mad even while watching the video. And I say it again: Whoever uses USB A for a downstream port doesn't care about standards, so I don't trust them following any other standard in that device.
I am using this with Stream lab and the video drops and I see black screen on the desktop. The L2 when I change to 1080 p the video will show but freeze? help
Hi Aaron, what setup would you recommend, if I only need a 2 or 3 camera switcher for 4k recordings without livestream ability. I just want to speed up my workflow in 4k studio recordings. I have already an audio interface.
This one actually seemed to not register presses more often than me accidentally pressing it. But yes that's one of the reasons I prefer physical buttons too.
Question, I’m doing a podcast with 3 cameras and 3 mics… my mics are xlrs,, how do I capture the audio from the mics? I understand that you plug the cameras through hdmi, I want to capture the audio from the mics.. how do I do that, the mics will not be plugged to the cameras
There's a lot of different ways to do it, one way is to use an external mixer like a RØDECaster to run all your mics into the mixer and take one audio output from the mixer into your video switcher.
Thanks for the review Aaron! I’m wondering about the resolution and bitrates options out of the USBC when using it as a capture device. The ATEM Mini Pro is a bit clunky for this, as their literature doesn’t absolutely distinguish if the “stream low etc” settings for the Ethernet also apply to the USBC output. Which device would you recommend for a 1080p stream over a slow and unstable connection? Thanks bud!
Nice review. The L2 on the other hand is very basic. The interface menus are so slow that I wonder how they cam ship a product with such a lame interface. For me, 5” is not going to cut it in terms of display. No streaming encoder on board, so you’re forced to bring a PC or other streaming device with you. The only nice thing I find is the possibility of PTZ controls. But since the latest price cut of the Atem Mini series, I don’t see any point of buying such a device. It’s just not competitive in my opinion.
Yeah, if you had nothing, starting from "0", this wouldn't be terrible to start with. Price isn't bad either at B&H $539 right now. Too bad about the fan noise tho'. I know that's a deal breaker for some.
"I assume you're familiar with the concept of video switchers..."
[proceeds to explain what video switchers are]
(I kid, I kid, love you videos)
I’m still enjoying mine. Does what I need it to do.
Thanks for your video. Very informative.

Configurable USB output is definitely useful! Blackmagic should be taking notes!

My main concern is "Do you give up that amazing audio processing you get on the Atem?"
yes, the ATEM Mini has much better audio processing capabilities.

I wish I understood why so many of these use the wrong USB port!
cool

Can it record on the spot
Did you ever accidentally hit the touch screen? Always worried about things like that.

@@aaronpk ohhhh,,, ok I have a mixer….. I get it now….🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾, thank you for this!!

The Atem Mini Pro can stream the exact same bitrates whether you use the ethernet port or the USB-C port.

I really do like the 5" screen, it's just enough to get a sense of what's going on without having to hook up a whole separate monitor.
It's not terrible but doesn't seem to offer much in the way of new things or I should anything exciting

Looks *very* unpolished. On the other hand there's this new atem TV studio switcher thing 8-)....
Super hard sell now that the Atem Pro is $295.
It's wild they dropped the price that low!
@@aaronpk I'm thinking 4K Atems have to be coming...
