I disagree. I dont think one can compare this two games. They are completely something else. In Forest you have a deep backgroundstory and moralic decisions to take. This decision feels absolute meaningful. Not so in this game, from my standpoint.
I thought you were gonna get home and find that even on land it’s stranded and buildings are broken, everything is abandoned then it would start a new game called “stranded land” and you not have to rebuild the world
interesting concept. : ) would be really cool the protagonist found out that the island are the most liveable surface - which would be a bit dystopian. But also the Protagonist could have woken up, just short before leaving for a flight to get to his work overseas - meaning he dreamt all this out of fear to fly. There are so many possibilities that - from my point - would have been better...
I think it was so disappointing because there are so many holes in the story, stuff wasn't explained well enough, then they throw this ending at us. So personally I think the story in general just needs more answers, like why are sea monsters involved? Why do they have plane parts? What happened to the human activity in this region of the Pacific? Why are there so many shipwrecks around the islands and in an undiscovered location in the Pacific? Maybe some of them don't NEED answering but I would like to know. Maybe if they threw pieces of the story on all the different islands there could be something more interesting to find than more wrecks and tools on all the islands. I'm probably overthinking it but the story just needs more explanation before anyone is really going to except this type of ending.
They could have made it easy on themselves and said this was in the atlantic ocean and you crashed in the bermuda triangle. That would have filled every plot hole.
So It Was A Loop then! He escaped then die cuz of the crash...then A New Person Stranded again.......Stranded deep should have a bad ending and a good ending and true ending!
But how would that be possible for the version of yourself after you crashed? Because if you escape it,it would mean there would have been no reason for the crash in the first place. If you weren’t there too cause it,it would never have happened. If you escaped it after you crashed and never crashed into yourself in turn, you would cease to exist and the crash would never have happened in the first place.
You know. I love this game, not really the story, just building and surviving. But something i never understood. Why couldn't you just build a raft and boat away? I get the plane is faster but ultimately a boat would be better. Plus in addition to rations if you run out you can just boil sea water, or catch fish and cook. You can make a scrap metal boat so theres no issue about the boat catching fire. I dunno. Seems like a missed opportunity to me
There is a mod that adds another ending option. I haven't played it, but essentially after a certain length of time, a ship will pass through the region. You have to find some sort of way to signal it, and then intercept it to get their attention. That makes a lot more sense than fixing a ww2 era floatplane, that somehow still works, on a functioning half of a carrier. Plus, the carrier itself, and launching equipment, is totally messed up too.
I thought the ending was stupid. It was almost like the devs thought "Shit! What happens when the plane takes off?. Just dump the opening crash cutscene on it .. that'll do..". If they REALLY wanted to leave it on a cliffhanger, what should have happened was that after the "3 Hours Later" cut scene, your plane is flying through a storm in the dark and you start to lose control as you find your fuel has run out. You see some lights flickering in the distance through the rain and the clouds so you aim for them but you end up with a HARD landing and lose consciousness. You wake up to find out that you've crash landed back on the aircraft carrier .. cut to black, maybe with a scream for added effect.

Here is the BIG problem with this new update. The gyrocopter part is now only found on the aircraft carrier. Im good with that but the problem is they only give you ONE part. I takes 3 to build the gyrocopter. :/
Some of us console peeps are being robbed of ending plane parts if you leave ending for an item you didn't bring enough for like water or fuel or food. Also cannot reek ill bosses for parts.
... this ending is underwhelming, where are the people? A plane went down, where are the search parties? What brought the plane down? Did you bring your own plane down? How? That's supernatural, there is literally no supernatural elements in this game, at least the forest had its mutants. I feel offended, honestly, for the players who have played this game for so long and this is what they get. Yeah, sure they have a huge shark and huge other sea creatures, but there's no explanation for that either. And I know that there are people going to be like, it doesn't have to make sense, or what ever, but seriously, how can you let the people down with such a mediocre ending.
whats even worse is that on console there is a glitch with the ending. if you go and put some of the parts on the plane then leave to go get food and water when you return everything you put will have dissapeared. i had literally everything except the water. i went back to put the water and everything was GONE. All they had to do was have the credits roll over approaching city lights near the end of them. That's it. I would've been satisfied with that, at least.
@@TheLastProtheanJavik Ok, then. We'll be realistic. The plane wouldn't be able to start at all or would either blow up or crash in the ocean. Not a very fitting end, is it?
getting the credits :) that's what you get as a player playing the game in experimental state. Because you are counted as a gametester. and just because the game makers were monitoring you and other on youtube they recieved several bug reports idea's and features. And very strangely they were added by them because they sounded reasonable. Job well done sir salute
Why didn't they just use some simple methods to add a story? Personaly I would have scrapped the aircraftcarrier, it's way to small which makes it look stupid and it serves no purpose as the plane is a waterplane, so it can take of from the water not needing the actual carrier. The story could have been simpler, just use those sea fort towers that are already in the game, plop some shady company logo's on it, write a couple notes you could find in there explaining that strange things are going on at these islands and put a dead guy with a note in the hardest to reach location. The note would explain that whatever is going on here evolved some of the sea creatures in to bigger more deadly versions and that they attacked his plane when he wanted to escape, thus breaking it and giving the player a reason why the bosses have plane parts. After this attack he retreated back into his tower and saw a bright flash in the sky (hinting at the players plane crash) after which his radio stopped working and in the end he bled out and died because he couldn't call in any help. You would find the plane underneath the tower in a damaged state and you would need to complete the same objectives. The ending could be him flying away, but getting intercepted by the company owning the plane and towers, it would leave on a semy cliffhanger which makes the player wonder if the company is good or evil. This is ofcourse a rough sketch of a story, but I feel like they could have done something like this without to much effort, mainly just writing some notes and a ending cutscene.
EXACTLY THAT. It woudnt have bee to hard to make more out of the ending by a tiny bit of lore that makes sense and gives the protagonist value and with that the game itself. A bit of sense would have been really sadisfying.
Make a season t of stranded deep where you use every resource that the game has to offer to build a huge mega super base with tons or rafts and shit. Where nothing goes to waste including trees kn base island and stuff
I'm two years late but I actually quite like the ending. It called Stranded Deep after all. ^^ You're in it DEEP. A neverending escape. Or the beginning scene is your POV, and they are merely taking you through another POV and what caused the crash exactly. Someone else was stranded deep, survived, crashed you, caused a new cycle of stranded deep.
I dont wanna say it. But i at the momment it was night i was like what if you caused the plane you were in to Crash? And what happens next. Exactly that.
don't get me wrong stranded deep is an amazing game but the ending was trash like actual trash, really lazy for a game that had so much time put into it and they hit us with the time loop ending i mean come on beam team what the hell
Me and my friend just started playing this game 2 days ago. We had to restart once already because we had no water and my friend had to be revived twice. Upon restarting we tried fixing the plane with gyrocopter parts thinking they were the same. Upon learning about the bosses and the crappy ending, Me and him agreed that the ending isn't worth the trouble we will just survive until the game gets boring
I honestly would of loved to see the the part when the music dims out and the screen go black to either roll the credits there. An ending I think is more symbolic is having the character standing in front of his own grave, with sad but kinda up tone music, bc everyone would of thought he was dead. I feel like that would have a deeper impact on the character. Plus it's way easier to animate a guy standing still...

Broadbent true story
That ending just ruined it for me
Lol i was gonna comment saying imagine they just do a loop where you crash in that plane instead, but it was actually just a loop
Stranded deep is a time loop like the movie Triangle
Some of us console peeps are being robbed of ending plane parts if you leave ending for an item you didn't bring enough for like water or fuel or food. Also cannot reek ill bosses for parts.
Imagine that the plane you crashed into was the forest plane and we thought it was the artifact but it was actually him
Probably hallucinating maybe your character had the bends (lack of oxygen causes hallucinations)
It's wired thinking about that it was like a timeline circle all the time even though it wasn't a ting earlier
Finally a video
... this ending is underwhelming, where are the people? A plane went down, where are the search parties? What brought the plane down? Did you bring your own plane down? How? That's supernatural, there is literally no supernatural elements in this game, at least the forest had its mutants. I feel offended, honestly, for the players who have played this game for so long and this is what they get. Yeah, sure they have a huge shark and huge other sea creatures, but there's no explanation for that either. And I know that there are people going to be like, it doesn't have to make sense, or what ever, but seriously, how can you let the people down with such a mediocre ending.
yes, mediocre. And so very Forest-y.
whats even worse is that on console there is a glitch with the ending. if you go and put some of the parts on the plane then leave to go get food and water when you return everything you put will have dissapeared. i had literally everything except the water. i went back to put the water and everything was GONE. FUCK THIS GAME
@@Beachling1 Again i really cant compare this game to The Forest: The Forest had a deep story with a protagonist and deep layers of moralic decion, that made a huge impact at the end. Stranded Deep hasnt got this.
Golden experience requiem you will never reach the truth/“ending”
I watched the ending on the outer middle show and he was pissed about the ending I am too it’s like the LOST ending, very sad and they didn’t put any work into it there’s one word for this depression
I don't want you to think that my last post was implying that you were not happy about console players. I just wanted to point out that PC has so much more than Console. I really wish we had more. The islands are tiny and we don't have much for items. However, I think the ending is rather fitting, even if it is extremely similar to The Forest.

So a time loop is like the bermuda triangle is like you cant go out or go in
All they had to do was have the credits roll over approaching city lights near the end of them. That's it. I would've been satisfied with that, at least.
Tbh we don't know how far he got and I doubt that plane had enough fuel to take him home let's be realistic here.
@@TheLastProtheanJavik Ok, then. We'll be realistic. The plane wouldn't be able to start at all or would either blow up or crash in the ocean. Not a very fitting end, is it?
@@diamehikoru2 it looks like is going to far apart anyways so anything up for grabs
getting the credits :) that's what you get as a player playing the game in experimental state.
Surreox smartest comment ever. And nobody saw it but me 💯💪
@@SelfControlla Eh thats how it is sometimes I guess, but thanks for the reply :)
EXACTLY THAT.
It woudnt have bee to hard to make more out of the ending by a tiny bit of lore that makes sense and gives the protagonist value and with that the game itself. A bit of sense would have been really sadisfying.
Also, on console, the end game ship is mostly surrounded by water with only a couple of little places with high sand bars.
That's probably the worst ending I've ever seen
the ending is the start???
i think that plane coming out of nowhere should be a vision from the ptsd he got from the crash
Your character is stuck in a time loop of the same crash but he dosent remember his or her previous life
Make a season t of stranded deep where you use every resource that the game has to offer to build a huge mega super base with tons or rafts and shit. Where nothing goes to waste including trees kn base island and stuff
Funny thing, I just started playing this game, and I can see the aircraft carrier from my starting island
The duck in the plane: *Im flying! IM FLYING!!*
Mind blown! I originally played on the console and never realized that someone escaping caused my original plane crash!
So what happened to the guy in the plane.... He crashes Into his own plane? Sound like hell prison time loop.
Stranded deep saw the forest do the infinite loop thing and they said yeah I’ll do that
Me and my friend just started playing this game 2 days ago.
I've some questions about co-op. Can I have your Discord?
"not a capital b"
I thought the Japanese Floatplane you fixed up was going to run out of fuel or something causing another crash, but that was a bit... unexpected.
The Red Baron Incarnate
Lol wtf this ship is right next to my island
The ending is like the forest except your character dies in the process
I honestly would of loved to see the the part when the music dims out and the screen go black to either roll the credits there.
An ending I think is more symbolic is having the character standing in front of his own grave, with sad but kinda up tone music, bc everyone would of thought he was dead. I feel like that would have a deeper impact on the character.
Plus it's way easier to animate a guy standing still...
The end when it said 3 hours later a little bit seconds later when the crash happened I jumped so hard
i jsut shrug, because i had no feelings left after a poor presentation - but I am happy you had some : )
Sitting here waiting for lights to show up on the horizon...... and then queue three plane crash
I would LOVE to see a video of Broadbent just messing with all the mods for Stranded Deep. I love watching him play this game. I’ve seen every video at least 3 times🤫
They Patrick Duffy'd us.
i played Stranded Deep in 2016-2017 it was very different u couldnt see your feet and there wasnt an ending
One of my survivals if I look from the first island I can see the boat
It’s like the reason you crashed was because someone like you were trying to escape and repeat
