You do gorgeous work. This is only a suggestion, not a criticism. You have a drill press and lathe, and it seems like they could be used to help make the silver ring. Once the ring is rolled up and silver soldered, use the drill press to bore the hole. If it needs to be highly accurate it could be reamed. Once a true hole is established mount it on the pen turning mandrel using available bushings. You have carbide pen turning tools which are more than sufficient to turn silver and give a near polished final surface.
Bring the outside to finished diameter, sand/polish if required. Use a carbide diamond-shaped detail tool to cut the two grooves. Continue with the texturing and application of the gold leaf, blacken using the potassium sulfide. Return to the mandrel and remove blackening from the two edges using 8,000 or 12,000 grit sandpaper glued to a small wooden paddle to keep edges crisp.
I cringe at the amount of time and labor it takes to do these steps with a planishing hammer, files, jewelry saw, when they could be easily handled with tools you already have at hand. If having the silver work all hand made is part of the mystique, then my hat is off to you with your fine craftsmanship. But since you already use the drill press and lathe for turning the barrels it seems like you are already partly mechanized.

The work you're talking about has already been fully experienced and reviewed, but that's not the right way to go.
The one I use is a wooden lathe.
It means a lathe for professional use for cutting wood.
Cutting metal with this is inefficient and dangerous.
Although not introduced in the video, wood lathes are sometimes used for metal processing, but it is correct to use a machine lathe for metal processing.
And,,,
I don't do shiny work.
Because it's not the concept I want.

Beautiful work as always! Have you custom made your barrel trimming sleeves or where have you bought them? it's hard to find a set that fits perfectly... What size sleeve vs size of tube do you prefer?
The trimmer's sleeve is custom made to fit the brass tube.
Made to order at an offline tool store in Korea.
@@SilverMeister Okay are they made in the dimension of the bushings? So I can measure the part of the bushing that goes in the tube and use that measurement?
All dimensions are made with an error of less than 0.05 mm.
