@@Docholiday1102 haha hardly! Just stoked to see other kayak camping channels out there. Texas is slowly becoming a hot spot for that which is rad to see!
I grew up in del rio Texas and I used to have the greatest times on that river😃My parents had friends who owned some undeveloped property, just an empty lot basically but it was perfect for camping. During the summer months my family and I would stay for days and camp out right on the river bank . We would cook out and swim all day long and it was an awesome place to be!! I never forgot how beautiful the river was,but your outstanding video footage really activated my memories and made me remember what a great place I got to experience as a kid. Now I wanna go back 😁Lol, thank you guys so much, great job, great video!!
@@Docholiday1102 its REALLY hard to find good mods for them.. would love to see a gear loadout for some of your trips! I'm doing a couple weekend trips this summer in mind and keep going back and fourth on gear lists :D
Beautiful video! We just did a kayak camping trip down the Colorado River and this popped up and looks like something we would love to do in the future! Thank you for posting.
thank you for taking the time to document this trip. now i'm starting an investigation to see if this is an option - great footage. would you be willing to comment on what time of year is optimal....or other various conditions that impact. ever since our experience on the devils river - been looking for the next remote texas river trip. many thanks.
Just be wary of the heat is all I can say. Early March and it was still gnarly warm. My hands got fried the first hour which is why I am wearing gloves the other days. Also, in the canyon be aware that you’ll only get 5-6 hours of direct sunlight. This meant that we often woke and everything was still wet from the day before.
Great trip and video. I’m curious on what brand and kit do you have for the pots and skillets? I looking for a good set! Thanks for sharing your video.
I notice most people do a 3 day trip. Is there good options to do a single day with no over night trip? Not so much info on those. Thanks again for the great views
Excellent video. What I didn't understand is why the author of the video included a construction wheelbarrow and a lawn mower in his adventure kit. (they appear at minute 0:41 of the video.🤔)
@@Docholiday1102 , Thanks for the reply Brett!!! I just ordered a Pungo 125 today and it should be shipped to me -hopefully- in a couple of weeks and I plan to do that Brazos river trip from Possum Kingdom down to Rochelle's... but we haven't had any real rain for a while... Sure hope the Pungo can float in very little water...
I did a short one night canoe trip up river on the Rio Grande last October. I can't wait to go back for more... So, did y'all use that one poop tube for the 4 of you? Did you make the tube? How did it work out? I'm getting ready for an epic kayak camping journey of my own and am looking to make one. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
That sir is our poop tube… this paddle through the National Park required either a portable toilet or some sort of waste system and this is what we decided was best.
What time of year did u guys do this trip? I would love to do this trip down the Rio Grande. Do you have to get a permit any fees to be able to do this?
What’s up Leif! We did this the first week of March and it was perfect. Prior to putting in, you must obtain the appropriate permits for river and backcountry access from the park headquarters at Panther Junction (in-person). It was a quick process.
I need to know one thing... Did those shark teeth come on that one kayak or did yall put them on there.. cause i want em on my boat. lol.. cool video man!
Great adventure! Thanks for sharing. Adding this to my to do list 😎 We do a lot of kayaking and camping in the Pacific Northwest if you want to check out our channel.
Such an epic trip. Keep putting out videos my man! The people need to see just how wonderful our rivers are in Texas. Cheers!
The Texas Legend himself! It is an honor GB, thanks for watching!!

Man, you were really blessed with perfect conditions on that river. Such a gorgeous blue
It was incredible we got lucky! March was the perfect time.
@@Docholiday1102 will definitely need to plan for that time, then! Probably caught the early snowmelt before any floods
That would be one hell of an adventure.
Great video! Nice vistas, around the campfire, down the river shots. Excellent understated use of background music. Thumbs up!
Thanks Mike trying to make small improvements each video. Learning to add SFX now to give them even more life.
I can't tell you how stoked I am to see someone else rocking a pungo 120
Love my Pungo!

Which part of the Colorado?
@@Docholiday1102 we did the lower part of the river from right around Brawley to Imperial I think is what it is considered.

How does one go about doing this amazing trip?
As Nike would say… Just Do It! But for real if you have any questions lmk. I put a bunch of info in the description too I believe.

March I believe

Hey Brett, do you recall the CFS, or the exact launch day so I can look it up? Great vid man!
What's up Duke! I do not recall the flow rate but we went on March 4th through the 8th in 2021 if you wanted to try and look it up.
Can you post a link to the drone you use?
I use the DJI Mini 2. I think they just released 3 which has some extra features but I haven’t seen the price.

I think I'd want to learn at least a few basic paddle strokes before I decided to do a trip like this. If nothing else, it's boat insurance. LOL
I think you’d be ok!
I swear I heard "y'all want gummies"😂
Bahahaha

yall repurposing tandem kayaks as heavy hauler camp kayaks?
