The best version of this song that's ever been done !
Yes, I use this one for the playlist!
Phil was the most underrated songwriter and frontman ever. I am so blessed to have finally met the band in 2008 (with Vinnie Moore on lead guitar) and to have had the opportunity to thank them for everything they brought to me. RIP Tonka, Pete Way, and Paul Raymond. What a legacy.
Yes🤘🏻🧡
Really, Phil is the best, my favorite band since 1976.
Nature girl , let’s go Europe for last concerts
Nice.
Extended saw them around the same time as you.
Just a little club date, Modesto, Ca.
They said Phil said he had a cold.
They wouldn't have known. Still rok'd it!
Yes, good songwriter, but he did not write Mystery Train.
It was first recorded by Junior Paker in 1953. He took some of the lyrics from a folk song called Worried Mans Blues that was recorded in 1930 by the Carter Family. Elvis recorded Mystery Train in 1955.
Many others have also recorded or performed it. Stray Cats, Eric Clapton, Jerry Lee Lewis (playing guitar).
The best band on the planet ever, so underrated with tonka, R. I. P. Tonka, paul Raymond and Pete way
Fantastic. Chapman was a tremendous talent.
First Off, Paul Tonka Chapman was a phenomenal guitarist (R.I.P.) And the No Place To Run cd was awesome. Train Train happens to be my one of my favorites on this cd. UFO is one of the greatest bands to grace the earth.
Thanks for this. Bloody brilliant. First time for me was 78. Tonka was a brilliant guitarist unfortunately some people disagree
There some who worship so hard at the temple of Schenker that they are blinded to the wonderful Mr Tonka Chapman!
@@alancrosby8123 Absolutely correct. Fantastic guitar player was Mr Chapman 🎸
Rock on Tonka, you will be missed, buddy!
Wow! What an amazing performance. Every iteration of UFO was awesome. But seemed so under appreciated. What a fabulous library of work.
Without question. My favorite band of all time.
RIP Paul Chapman and Pete Way
Great band. Great song. Great quality video
THIS IS HOW I WANT TOO REMEMBER ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK BANDS!!!!!!
Tonka Chapman in front of a wall of marshalls on a friday nite in town....wot great memories...
Indeed, the abiding memory of a youth spent following this wonderful band all over Europe.
I was so lucky to see this tremendous version of the band a few times in NY in like 8th row or a bit closer. They were fantastic.
Chapman is one of my favorite guitarists of all time, great replacement for Schenker. That dude could jam, just loved his style, gonna miss him!
Abzolutely
Prefer Chapman over Schenker......everybody jumps on the Schenker bandwagon... No Place To Run is a brilliant album. As is TWTWATI. RIP Paul.
My favorite,too.
Greatest band of all time
Paul Chapman was awesome. I met him in El Paso, Texas. He as very humble and cool!
They were always great live. Those three albums with Chapman were as good as the Shenkner era
I saw this lineup on the no place to run tour and the original version, while PC was great he didn't fill MS shoes. Although I'm sure he was more professional and far easier to work with

@@kevinherd3437 certainly not on the Schenk stuff
Nobody could. But he was excellent on those 4 albums he played on. Could used a Les Paul Gibson. Better sound.
When I listen to UFO, so do my neighbors!!!
I hope they are properly appreciative
Early 80s, one of my first gigs, Wild & Willing tour?
The roadie puts the acoustic contraption on stage, Tonka does his bit
Pete & Phil stand on the drum riser
The acoustic finishes, there is a 2-3 second gap, everyone grins, everyone apart from me andf my school pal know what is about to happen
Kerrang, kapoww, boom [the electric bit starts] Pete & Phill go airborne
It is one of my most treasured rock moments, still in my top 3, 40 odd years later
This is a kick ass live version,Tonka was a valuable piece to keeping U.F.O. the greatest all time band.....Period....
When schenker left ufo in 78 they couldn't have got a better replacement Paul chapman was so underated God bless you Tonka R.I.P
I will miss you my friend
They could have gotten a lot better replacement, but as Phil Mogg said, they rushed into it, and hired chapman because they knew him, and better the devil you know than the devil you don't know.
@@1Phepsi they still liked Paul a lot there come on
@@jerrywoods4066, Some people did, but the albums he played on , sold less, and fell steadily down the Billboard charts in America NPTR was the highest at #51, then TWTW&TI #77 , Mechanix #82 and Making Contact #159
@@1Phepsi interesting though their highest chart album in UK and part of Europe was Mechanix and the wild willing and innocent different from the American market believe obsession was their biggest in america
@@jerrywoods4066 Actually Lights Out was their most successful album, reaching #23 in the States. The thing people forget about the U.K. is that it's a much smaller market, and a band would get a Silver Record for selling 60,000 records, whereas in America you have to sell 500,000 for Gold. Phil Mogg said that UFO had 3 successful eras, the Bolton era in Japan and Germany, the Schenker era in the States, which was their most financially successful, and the Chapman era in England.
Just a Wonderful Band this is Rock n Roll 👍
Blown away 2 the max what with Phil's sublime voice Paul Chapman's wonder play and a perfect rendition of a cover
RIP Tonka .. Absolute legend x
TO: Phil Moog your voice is and always has been the greatest voice in RNR.
This clip have such a badass vibe
Fanntastic-rock blues.
Prime example showing that even post-Schenker, UFO still had plenty of gas in their tank. The whole band totally kills it here.
Too right they do, fucking class
Thats schenker playing
Love the field-expedient guitar stand. RIP Paul Chapman.
Paul Chapman Tonka rips it up!!
Met Paul Raymond rest in eternal peace.
I saw this tour in Cardiff, Wales, Chapman's home town, and he was bloody brill boyo !!!
A monumentally underrated band. Could go toe to toe with any band out there…
Rip Tonka great playing.
THANK YOU FOR THIS DOWN LOAD😁😁🖒🖒🖒!!!! These guys are so damn talented. I love them💖💖💖 so much. And can't help but have a major crush on Phil😍😍😍.
Great rocker.....love UFO in these days
Great 'Tonka' rip 😘
Awesome guitarist , saw him live on numerous occasions, perfect successor to Shencker
good song by Ufo's band
best band ever
Tonkas on fire
La magia de Chapman es increíble !!
RIP Tonka.Cool personified.
They back!
UFO was hoisted on me and friends from a group of guys moving from San Fran to Austin early 80s. Hanging out at clubs, Lake Travis and City Park Lake Austin.
Energy Band...
❤
This is two tons of goodness.
RIP Paul William "Tonka" Chapman...🎸
OUTSTANDING!!!!
Seen them several times!
I still have the ticket stubs.
Chapman was fast as well. Those bends make your toes tap.
This guy is tops too indeed,
Have a great eeekrnd
great
RIP, Paul Chapman
I know Schenker is a guitar god , but the Paul Chapmen era Ufo had alot of great melodic guitar rock songs that are as good as the Schenker era.To this day i dont know why they didnt become bigger in the states, mind boggling
Man, Paul Chapman was good.
He was every bit as good as Michael, maybe better. There, I said it! And I love Michael.
It comes down to tone and style.
Michael has a world of that. But Paul had a ton of it too.
Tonka was never going to win when he took over from Schenker. I remember the bad press he received back in the very early 80's after the NPTR tour. A great guitarist in his own right and they had some excellent albums during his tenure but Schenker had/has the most amazing tone, technique and phrasing when he plays. A true virtuoso.
He's no Micheal period
and easier to get along with
Nope ken .
@@jerrywoods4066 Yeah, I know. Michael Schenker is one of my all time favorites. I can't say that about Paul Chapman. I wrote the post after hearing that Tonka had died. I wanted to show appreciation, I suppose. Hell, Tonka was a good player, no doubt. And we already know how good Michael is. Cheers!
Great.
Good rock😈
I pray for my wife to be UFO alone for me in sex
Paul was a big influence in Slash, don't know if anyone knows this but it's true, RIP Tonka absolutely loved your playing fucking class
Paul brought some grit and style in his playing that fit well with UFO, especially following in where Michael left off. And then there's the band that Chapman came out of - Lone Star - that totally kicked ass in their, sadly, only two albums,. But both were great and unique nonetheless. Firing On All Six !
How about his playing on some of the Waysted albums like TGTBTW? Awesome.
Rip pete rip paul
Rock on!
Remember when you were young, you wanted a 10 speed CCM bike. Now your older, you want a 10 string B.C. RICH!
Tonka doing a reverse walking into a hedge Simpson style with the guitar change
Pretty great.
Saw UFO for Force It in '75 < Winterland. Huge Schenker fan,,,,two V's here.
Later, like '82, go to see them, SF Civic (later the BG Civic)
Never knew a show could get too loud. I mean, LZ, Kezar, 10 or 12 shows at Winterland and alll...
This was. The only thing that made any sense was the intro to this song. The rest was a garbled mess (First row balcony seats, straight out from the stage).
What’s up with Tonka. He sure could slide those licks around. A lot like? They did play together in the beginning. I never knew that till I found a recording on here! Never heard that one before. Anyway the first tour after Michael was to me the best post Mike. There first headline tout in Philly. Tower theater. Rocked it. In his sweater. I like people who rock. Without gimmick
I liked Schenker but preferred what Chapman brought to the band more. There's more to great music than how fast your riffs are. Always a great show when they'd come to town. RIP Tonka, Way and Raymond.
If you think Schenker was nothing but fast riffs, you are very sadly mistaken. Schenker changed the musical direction of UFO, and created the UFO guitar sound , which all other UFO guitarists have tried to replicate since his departure.
Underrated guitarrist. Sad only recently I know about him. I have 2 UFO's LPs but It seems that the band forgot this great and honest period.
Rock and Roll and verry Hard roclk ex
Seen UFO on this tour in a 3000 seat theater Thought the ceiling was gonna cave in
❤️🔥🎼💯
I don't know why they omitted Chains Chains from the DVD, as that was they song they opened the show with!
Fuckin' badass Paul Chapman. Classic UFO.
Thattiz toetaly korrekt mr.dugydug
RIP Tonka
ImI 💗 ImI
Rip Tonka
Can someone tell me was this the wild Willing tour? In which case would be 81? Not 80 and is that Neil Carter instead of Paul Raymond?
Definitely Carter. Must be '81 or '82.
Yes Neil Carter.
May
what brand is that red guitar!
Gimme a bean that R O C K S🤘
now they need two guitarist for Schenker.
They had two with schenker as well, Raymond played guitar, or did you conveniently forget?
My goodness, Mr Chapman is ripping here
Its not chapman its schenker
@@zog97xy Actually Schenker had left about 2 yrs earlier. Trust me, I know what they both look like. Schenker has blonde hair
*on Slash
Did'nt know Chapmaan was deceased
I love you baby
Today I made a footage of 'Mistery Train' landing on Kennedy Airport in NYC,including Bird.90 Leeches came from Russia to celebrate Twitter.
4 dislikes?
Seriously, huh. Some people just don't have the good sense to know great music when they hear it.
TURN THAT SH T DOWN!!! OR IM GOING TO CALL THE POLICE!!!
THERE I DID IT ! THEYRE ON THERE WAY !
Elvis could rip this up too
Peter Way, Garry Thain are may favorite bas players
Father Phil is always outstanding on vocals. Not enough good things are said about him because people are too busy worshiping guitar gods.
Not me. I got it big for Phil😍😍🖒🖒🖒. Excellent vocalist he is. But you know, the whole band is bad ass!!!! ❤❤❤
Father Phil as you call him is a great vocalist no doubt, but sadly he was a bully who's actions led to the departure of the greatest guitar player they ever had in 1978! The Chapman era produced three decent albums, but they had lost their momentum and would never reach the heights they were destined to with Schenker on board.
@@iltonwhite Well said.
Laure Murkuns salty
@ Kurt Woodard, Father Phil as you refer to him, was a control freak and a drunken bully, screw him.
