I switched from the Camco water filter to the Clear 2o. This is the only filtration system I use since I’m a weekend warrior. Just so you know, I noticed a HUGE difference in my water quality. The taste, odors, filtration, everything is better. Much better! I’m going to get the Burkey because everyone raves about it. Thank you to our soldiers, veterans and their families.
I spent 30 years in municipal water supply. At very MINIMUM use the 2 Stage Clear 2 O!! It saved my rig one time. You will know when its time to change the inline filter when pressure drops. Or after 3 months. Softening will protect your rig! I now use Clearsource 3 stage filtration. BTW you really should have a regulator on your water line upstream of the green filter.
Great job guys! I've been looking at all three, well done video. My brother and his wife only drink water out of their berkey! The money you save on bottled water will pay for that whole system in no time..👍
We have the same set up on ours and works great. Only comment is that Berkey filter should not use soft water. Salt will damage the charcoal filter and the berkey does not filter out salt. We have a Y connector after clear 2o filter that we fill container with water and bring in to fill Berkey, pain yes but very easy fix. Have fun. Boone
Dustin I am with you.....I won't drink water from the camper either ..hahaha...I am camp host at a campground from end of April to October 1 soo definitely need to invest in some of these products...maybe then I will drink it and not buy bottled water and gallon jugs of water for my coffee pot...cuz I need good water for my coffee...HAHA thanks for sharing this great info!! Enjoy both of you!! have a wonderful evening!!
I so agree I can not stand funky tasting water 🤢 I was spoiled being raised in the mountains got a rude awakening when I moved to beach 🤣🤣Great information guys Thank You and Safe Travels 😊
Our good friends the Brazen Brits just did a video that provides much more detail on the CLEAR2O filter vs the Camco filter. It will surprise you what the CLEAR2O filters out that the Camco misses. ua-cam.com/video/KbEG4TDIyfg/v-deo.html
Hi Dustin and Leslie! I love all this filters. Glad they worked and I did not know that they had water softeners for Rvs. That’s nice. We used to have a water softener for our house but we found out that the person who put in our water hoop they put it in wrong. So we then since taken it out. We weren’t happy about it. But we got over it. I would choose those filters myself since they work better than what you had. I did hear the Burkees or Burkies really work. Not sure how it’s spelled. Glad that worked for you too! Thank you too for showing how to hook it all up. Glad there is no water marks with the filters. Great job Dustin. 👍. Hope you both have a great weekend. See you both soon!
We have the same setup. Been using Berky for about a year and have changed filters once. Glad we have all especially the water softener. Plus using the Berky the space and the weight difference from carrying bottled water offset each other
We used soft water for 3 months before we saw the message. That’s why we changed the filters…. The treated water clogged the filters…So now I use the straight from the park (3 way ) water. Usually fill up Berky once a day..out in the west twice a day. Safe Travels
Very interesting demo of the different systems I have always drank bottled water because I never trusted or liked camp water but always felt guilty about all the plastic bottles this could be the answer to the problem.
We have had the double On the Go since we bought our first RV, I have always had soft water and won't be without it. We have so many filters that we have not needed the "berky" yet, but maybe as we go along may find a need for it.
Good review overall; not surprised you like the Berkey AND the Clear 2 0 products. However, I would have been interested in you testing the Berkey by itself, since, the water you "tested" in it has already been run through the Clear system. I have a Berkey in my home and find a clear difference in the taste. I'm with you, Dustin, I can't handle most of the out-of-the-faucet water; ughhhh. Love da' Berkey! Y'all Be Safe!
We took the video down. Thule changed the rating on the rack and it is no longer recommended for RVs so we didn't want people buying it and having issues. We have still been using it without issue. Here is a link to our Amazon store. The bike rack cover is in there in the "outside the RV" section. www.amazon.com/shop/waywardwaggs?listId=W2BKYXNHF53C
We are happy with the water softener and the Berkey but not the Clear 2 O. It decreased our water pressure. Here is a link to the follow up video where we talked about how they are still performing. ua-cam.com/video/WzO0HqJZb14/v-deo.html We are looking into a new filter system right now.
Do you use any of these still, with the blue Tech system or did the new system replace it all? Except for the water softener I know you’re still using that.
We use the On The Go Water Softner. We still have the Berkey but don't use it. We haven't had to since we got the BluTech filter system. The Clear 2 O water filter was great for taste but decreased out water pressure after about 2 months of use.
It's okay to be a water snob. Very good explanation on the differences, I'm now curious though as to the additives in the carbon block and their potential to interact. Also curious on how these filters will impact the other systems (ie. water heater).
A Berkey?? You caved to peer pressure?! I think your tough outer shell is being softened by your water. But... We like our distilled water in the gallon jugs, a little bulky but we can get a whole lot of gallons for the price of the Berkey. But everyone should do what works for them, maybe we'll change our mind down the road. Glad it works good for you. Happy Fourth of July.🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
Lol, I'm sorry! That proves how desperate I was to stop the constant water buying though! It really isn't taking up much space as I thought it would. Hubby has perfect water and I'm not buying a ton of water anymore- it was an evil necessity 😆
Just use this and fill your primary tank up instead of hooking directly to the line you might find it annoying to use your water pump and water pumps don’t last but it’s a very least you’ll have clean water that you can trust they will not have chemicals or Pharmaceuticals
Dave has had bad taste for years and there ain't enough filters in the world to fix that! But seriously, we are very interested in a longer term review (more than a couple weeks) of all these upgrades. Please discuss the water softener and does the need for manual recharge become too much of a problem. EDIT - are you going to try to figure out a way to mount the water softener inside?
You're only filtering down to 20 microns with your setup. There are much, much better filters that RVs should use that will filter down to .2 microns that you should use. What you have is the absolute bare bones minimum filtration. I haven't commented on the water softener as that is not a filter but, again, there are others out there and they all do the same thing when it comes to treating hard water.
Berkey for the win
🤣

You'll love the berkey too! 😊
Berkey all the way! Now we have one in our sticks n bricks, too!
That's awesome. We should have gotten one sooner- I was too stubborn 😆
We love our on the go.
We are loving ours so far too.
You explain everything really well, thanks for that.
We love our Berkey!
We are loving ours so far too.
I love my Berkey! Glad you like it!
I admit I was skeptical at first but we are loving it!😊
We love the clear 2 O products and have been thinking about the Berkey for awhile. Thanks for all the info.
As picky as Dustin is about water, if he says the berkey makes it taste better then it must 😆
Very informative. We have been looking into the Green Filter system.. Glad it did not reduce water pressure. Appreciate your review.
Water pressure was a concern for us too, glad it didn't interfere. Well worth the investment!

Just watched your video about evacuating Branson. I was dying laughing. Glad y’all made it! 😂
🤣 Glad you got a laugh out of it. We look back and laugh at that day too.
Awesome video!!!! Thank you for posting.
Our pleasure.
Excellent presentation of the water system and Berkey. Keep up the good work.Go Army.
Thanks Larry! 😊
We have the On the go double, love it. When we notice that soap doesn’t lather up good we know it’s time to recharge.
That is a good sign. We noticed the saop lathers very well with the softener.
Have the dirt guard and the little dirt and I don't have any problems with the pressure....

Thanks LuCinda 😊. I think you would probably like the Berkey.
Great video. Was actually looking at the On the Go yesterday for our new Alliance. Perfect timing.
Cool. Glad we could provide some info for you.

Thanks Tanya!😊
I use all three. They are great. Thanks for the video.
Agree, all 3 rock 😊
Great video guys! Excellent information. We have used the small green filter but did not know about the larger one, so thank you for that.
Happy to help. Ours is still working great.
Love my travel Berkey! I’ll have to look into the other two items. I just use the Camco blue filters now.
Our good friends the Brazen Brits just did a video that provides much more detail on the CLEAR2O filter vs the Camco filter. It will surprise you what the CLEAR2O filters out that the Camco misses.

We definitely prefer this as opposed to buying a ton of bottled water.

It's drastically cut back the amount of water we buy- saving money and the environment 😊

U forgot to mention that the blue in-line filters I think are 20 micron and the Clear 2o reduces it to 1 micron.
True. We missed mentioning that.
Great info. I was interested to see if the water softener would give a salty taste. Good to hear it doesn't.
The salt is used to regenerate the beads that are used to soften the water, you’ll never taste the salt.
The water tastes great. Not salty at all.
Have been trying to find your video on the bike rack and cover. Would like to know which cover you bought. Thanks

How’s the taste before the Berkey ?
We did not try the water with just the Clear2O filter but with just the blue filter the water tasted terrible.
I put my pressure regulator just before the line into the RV, after all my filters.
Interesting 🤔
I read on the Berkey site that you should not cycle softened salt water through their filters.
Oh wow. That is the first we have heard that. We will have to go look it up and see if we can come up with a work around.
A year later are you still just as happy with it?
We are happy with the water softener and the Berkey but not the Clear 2 O. It decreased our water pressure. Here is a link to the follow up video where we talked about how they are still performing. ua-cam.com/video/WzO0HqJZb14/v-deo.html

Is the softener also a filter?
No. The softener only softens the water.

So far, it seems to not impact any other systems. We have been using these three things for about 6 weeks now.

Happy 4th! 🇺🇸
Noooo!!! You didn't I'm with you Leslie. I refuse to buy a Berkey. It takes up valuable space on the counter. I feel so abandoned 😞

@@WaywardWaggs I'm slowly loosing my ammunition. The Hubbster thinks it's a must have.
Again I'm so sorry 😆. If you get one get the Traveler, it's slimmer so it hardly takes up space.
@@WaywardWaggs I was looking at them I think that's the route will end up going. Thank you for your information and knowledge.

Lol, that's funny. We will definitely touch on it again in a few months and share if we're still loving it 😊

Seriously?! The 2 of YOU giving in to peer pressure. SMH.
Does your pinky automatically start to raise when drinking from it? Sad day.
Lol. Pretty much caved so I don't have to constantly buy cases of water.
