In this video I take a closer look at the condition of my Rangeman and theorize why this might have happened. Then I look at some of YOUR comments. Now, there were A LOT of good comments that deserve some more time so we'll need to continue this conversation in a future video.
To be honest there were some BAD comments. Someone is accusing me of being dishonest by purposefully destroying my own watch. That's a pretty serious accusation! If I am factually incorrect please correct me. But making a baseless accusation doesn't advance the conversation.
Look, if this happened to me it might happen to someone else. Maybe. But I think most guys would want to know BEFORE they buy a $500 watch.

I love your rough and tumble reviews my man. As a G fan and owner of 27 Gs …. I love your style. I understand the diesel tests too. I drove a fuel delivery truck for 15 years, and no matter how careful I was, I had gas and diesel and kerosene on me daily. My wife always washed our clothes separately. I wore a G every day and still do, the fuel never phased one watch. 😊

Jim I think you're doing a great job on testing the watch in real-world, everyday blue collar, skilled-trade working conditions and I applaud you for these field-tests👏🏿🫱🏿🫲🏼 Because the truth of the matter is most of the G-Shock Rangeman, Master-G, GravityMaster, FrogMan ect, ect wearer's don't & won't put their G-Shock Watches through said test situations. And we all overstand that because the ⌚️ are pricey, expensive and rare for some people. However you're not foolish for doing your experiments😅 I for one enjoyed your informative clips on the subject at hand and said videos along with others on UA-cam helped me make my decision on purchasing the watch. I want to add yes I am primarily going to use the watch for exercise purposes and that you're absolutely correct Casio/G-Shcok should have made the watch tougher and conducive to the rugged outdoorsman who in addition wants to condition his health. So keep it up on your reviews and field tests.

Jim, I could be wrong about this, but I remember that the owner’s manual for the gbd-h2000 says to not subject the watch to any gasoline, diesel fuel or any sort of chemicals because it can damage the watch case. I believe that this same rule applies to the gpr-h1000 Rangeman too.
Maybe what happened was that the diesel fuel and whatever other oils and chemicals that you subjected the watch to caused the internal threads on the watch case to degrade or melt causing the screws to get loose. I’m not a chemical engineer by any means, but I remember back a long time ago when some very hard plastic (probably resin) was exposed to a harsh petroleum chemical product and it caused the plastic resin to get soft and brittle. I bet you that this is what happened to the inside threads on both ends of the lugs on your watch.
I really don’t think that these Casio G-Shocks are supposed to be immersed or dowsed in any type of fuel or chemicals.
Please take a look at the English owner’s manual and find the section where it talks about this. Let me know what you think about this.

Jim, after watching all 3 of your videos about the GRP-H1000-1JR, I fell in love ❤with this model and I wanted one so badly, so I purchased one on June 2nd from eBay from Japan. I just got delivery of the 1st one yesterday and I just ordered a 2nd one again today. I purchased the 2nd one to have as a spare.
I also have 2 yellow Rangeman incoming for my collection. I will wear one of the black Rangeman and one of the yellow Rangeman and put the other extra black and yellow ones in storage to have as spares if I ever need them anytime.
I firmly believe that the current GPR-H1000 Rangeman is the top of the line G-Shock that Casio makes at the moment with the MIP display with all the Bluetooth capabilities and health and fitness features. No other model in the entire Casio G-Shock line up has the features and options that the new Rangeman GPR-H1000 offers with the MIP display. Period!
Also, this particular model is NOT a smartwatch and it is NOT supposed to be a smartwatch. Many people who purchased and own this watch cannot and don’t get this through their brains and heads. It might have many smartwatch features in it, BUT it’s first and foremost supposed to be a heavy duty G-Shock first. NOT a smartwatch. The new Rangeman was built first and foremost for its durability and to be used as a watch. Not to be used like a Garmin or like an Apple Watch. People do not understand this. They think that the new Rangeman is a smartwatch first, but it really isn’t. Casio added some health and fitness features in the Casio GPR-H1000 Rangeman as “convenience” features for the wearer. NOT as smartwatch features. People who want a 100% health and fitness smartwatch shouldn’t be buying the Rangeman. They should instead buy the Garmin or the Apple Watch.
The problem that we have is that just because Casio put some health and fitness and sports features into the new Rangeman, everyone expects it to be a smartwatch when it really isn’t. I believe that if people accept the new Casio GPR-H1000 as a G-Shock and ONLY as a G-Shock, then more people will accept this model. I wanted to give you an analysis of what the new GPR-H1000 really is. It’s 100% nothing else but a G-Shock. People who badmouth and who complain about this model are not knowledgeable enough to really see and understand why the Rangeman is really a G-Shock first and foremost. If they did, there wouldn’t be any complaints or hate against this particular model.
I wanted to give you my deep analysis of this particular model so the people who come into your UA-cam channel and complain about the missing smartphone features of this model can understand why it’s ONLY a G-Shock and NOT a smartwatch. I hope that I’ve cleared this confusion up for them so they can stop saying and posting negative things about this model.

If you bought it directly from Casio you could always return it. I am sure Casio would be interested in your feedback on the watch. For what it's worth I really like mine and haven't had any significant issues. Historically I believe they made the straps so they wouldn't sit flat was to protect against impacts on the watch back. I was pleased to see that Casio used a metal threaded insert for the screws rather than the plastite screws into plastic on the GPR-B1000. You could use some Loctite 222 which is designed for small screws. If you needed to take the screws out later you still could (with some effort of course). For reference my wrist is 6.75 inches but fairly flat. Personally I like your testing so please continue. I doubt you stripped the threads if you can still screw the screw into the metal inserts.

I don't think is a metal insert in any of the -g-shock watches made of plastic. And I'm pretty sure this one has no inserts. This little screws are threaded for plastic, and in the previous video it is visible how the plastic threads are on the screws after disassembling..

This is a good example of real world use for G-Shocks and yes, definitely there's a problem with your watch. But this problem maybe develops with larger wrists (> ~ 8"). I have this watch and I have a 6.7" wrist. I can see that, when I wear the watch, the straps don't put any pressure on the "knee cap". Nor there seems to be any pressure on the screws. Therefore, I think is very unlikely my watch will develop the same problem.

It should be a bit stretchable otherwise the band will break, but not so much. It's a big luck that the pushers didn't decide to give up. I didn't saw the G shock Locktite since the DW5200C which is 40 years old, and that Locktite was just the pain, nothing else.
Maybe you should cut off or to sand down a part of that ''knee cap''..whatever makes you happy with the watch. I don't agree that the newest Casio is the worst Casio, there's a lot of new Casios that I'm sure they are the animal watches.....some of them are just a nice Casios but heavily overpriced.
