I've left this comment on several other videos...Brandon, I truly appreciate you!!! You are helping me untangle so much damage done by religion. I am soooo much happier and at peace!😊
Yeah, Brandon has helped me move away from my own Christian Faith (and my batshit crazy aunt who is convinced that the Rapture will be coming for her any day because of all the conflicts in the world.) So, from someone who took 10 years to move away from Christianity, Brandon, I thank you!
Great points in this video! And to top it off, the typical gaslighting in the Christian response: “these things only bother you because you’re so prideful!” Imagine a household where the parents refer to the children as worthless maggots, and then punish them for being “prideful” because they resent the derogatory name calling. Sick.
@ The Bible itself uses human marriage and parenting relationships to describe Gods relationship with people. Jesus said if human fathers can be good to their children, how much better must God be to his. So if the Bible uses these metaphors, I think Brandon can too.
This is a topic I never really thought about but you're so right, the God of the Bible does often refer to us as garbage. When I was a Christian, I struggled with self-worth, often telling myself that I am worthless and that I should hate myself. I was told by some around me that this was radical but that's what the damn book says! So glad that I got out and have finally gained some self-love. I am good enough.
Same. My self image took a huge nosedive. Older Christians kept reinforcing the importance of being in the word to "renew my mind". After years and years, I started to become angry and finally realized the message was the problem. Not me. We are born good enough 💛
When I was a Christian I actually took comfort and had joy when I contemplated these things. I'm like dust. I'm wretched. God gets to choose how he wants to use me-as a glittering chalice or as a pedantic, ugly common vessel. It's so refreshing to have my eyes opened to the horrible, dysfunctional unhealthy ugliness of this controlling religion. Thank you, Brandon!
Hey Brandon and everyone part of this community. I just came out this Weekend to my family as agnostic. You helped me tremendously in taking this step and how I should do it. I want to thank you for helping me feel understood in a way none of my current friends can. Your work is very important. I dont know where I would be without people like you. Thank you!
These teachings from the Bible reminds of something a cult leader may say to reinforce the idea that the followers should abandon self confidence and self reliance and follow, without question, what your leader tells you. It seems much more like teachings to control people than it does a caring message from a loving God. Btw, give us your money and follow my rules, or you will be punished for eternity.
The last sentence is so spot on. What it always comes down to is paying tithes which is considered obeying god. Literally, churches I’ve been to equate obedience to tithing.
@@GraavyTraain "Don't sacrifice lame or sick animals to God, who do you think you are, putting crap like that on God's table?" -The priests who took food away from their 'flock' and pretended like God needs to eat. It's literally written into the damn bible itself: _you don't deserve the good shit, give it to your leaders instead._ At least the priests of Offler would fry up the offering sausages and eat them right in front of you while _pretending_ they tasted like ashes.
The analogy of god being the good shepherd and we being his sheep appears frequently in the bible. Believers rarely pause to think about what that really means. A shepherd does not "love" his sheep. He regards them as objects--solely for the purpose of making money. The sheep will eventually be robbed of their wool or slaughtered for their meat, and the shepherd's only incentive for maintaining them is with that in mind. Brandon, the parable of the lost sheep, analyzed along these lines, would make for a great Mindshift presentation.
The sheep/shepherd relationship is more complex than that, there's some interesting cognitive dissonance involved. So shepherds (and cowherds &c) do care about their stock but, as you point out, the eventual goal is to make a profit from the stock. And, yeah, even in the days when I tried to believe, I always found the shepherd metaphor disturbing.
How could anybody want to worship a God who treats his creation awfully and is repulsed by us? He treats us like we are worthless and he is Great. This is sick and disgusting
I couldn't agree more. I don't know exactly when it happened, but I feel like Jews and later Christians slowly changed who God is. He started out much more human, like Greek/Norse mythology and then slowly became more "ethereal" and loving. But this change wasn't uniform, so that's why we see these contradictions in how people describe him (dictator vs total lover)
@@J_Mill7 the fact that the Bible says that God is unchanging and that he is the same forever is a contradiction. He goes from "an eye for an eye" to suddenly "turn the other cheek" which is God changing, which is a contradiction. Even Jesus saying that nobody has ever seen or Heard God at any time, but yet Moses and Abraham spoke and heard from God is a contradiction
Get out of your feelings, you little meat puppet. If you prove yourself worthy then God will use you as his personal messenger and bring real blessings to you and your family.
No doubt! I took the extra 20 seconds needed to move a spider outside last week instead of squashing it and in doing so just became more benevolent than this god. The bar is low
I cringe everytime i hear that whenever my loved ones or pastor mentions it because if god is considered to be the father, then why would he considered his children all brides of christ when brides are exclusively females in a heterosexual marriage. Its also ironic that the bible is so open about condemning homosexuality yet Christians tell you that god refers to every child as his bride, a.k.a, both males and females as if they are making god come across as not only incestual but also bisexual as well. So by Christian logic, wouldn't that be considered blasphemous on thier part to use that kind of analogy? Why not just children of Christ instead since a relationship with Christ is often referred to as a parent and child relationship rather then one that is spousal. Anyway, it sounds pathetic when you realize that it's nearly impossible to have a deep understanding relationship with something you don't know whether exists or not and you can't use youre five senses to effectively communicate with him because you can't easily discern it with a 2000 year old book that gets lost in interpretation and translation by many fallable human beings.
@evanurena8868 I guess you're not aware of symbolism. It's related to covenants. In the Old Testament God uses symbolism Iseral as a whole was considered a son or a wife symbolically not literally. The church as a whole all together in the new testament was symbolically seen as the body of christ, Bride, God's temple and new jerusalem. Each individual is not considered a bride but a child of God and brother and sister of christ. You can read the new testament and see for yourself
@@justadude-qr1bz lts still considered cringy symbolism and contradictory logic when the church or body as a whole is an organization made up of individuals that are male and female, thus you are still indirectly referring to every individual as a bride rather then a child. If it was just reffering to the church as the building or the landscape of a country like Isreal, then in that context maybe l can understand but masses of people like Isreal which consists of males and females as brides makes no logically sense. Plus , a covenent is a contract that involves personal consent prior to any future transaction or event and no human in the 21st century has received any personal consent from this system that was preordained by God because we weren't present in that situation in genesis to make such decisions with Jesus or God in the past.
@evanurena8868 You think it's cringy. That's your own opinion. Symbolism has its own understanding, perhaps something you're not used to reading. The church is God’s temple, the body of Christ and Jesus bride. In a natural logical sense, this makes no sense, but that's because it's not using natural logic cause how can Christ body be also his own bride? This involves more in-depth context with scripture, which I will not break down cause it's a lot. It's related to the teaching of Jesus when he talks about the believers in him and he is in the Father and the Father is in his people. It's oness thing, a spiritual teaching in the New Testament.
@evanurena8868 The old covenant with the 10 commandments was between actient Israel and God, and it was at Mount Sinai. They consented with God, Exodus 19:8. The new covenant ( who is Jesus himself) basically in a nutshell is an open door whoever accepts Christ and receives the Holy Spirit, has become part of God's New covenant.
The bible says that we were created "a little lower than the angels." Being referred to as worms, maggots, sheep, etc. makes us a helluva lot lower than the angels. This IS very unhealthy to the human psyche. And yet "Christians" revel in such meanness.
Another thing that I find highly problematic is using animals' names as derogatory words itself. Didn't the creator of the Universe know that worms, for instance, are very useful creatures that are doing great work for soil? Dogs are wonderful animals who help us humans find lost people, catch criminals and guide those who're blind. Realizing how terrible animals in the Bible were treated was kind of a nail in the casket for me after which I stopped identifying myself as a Christian. I think we definitely need a podcast about the Bible and animal rights. There's so much to talk about.
@@ContemplativeMonk-c3iAlso, Snakes, Serpents, and Dragons in the bible get a bad reputation in reference to satan or the devil but snakes in real life ironically get thier venom used for healing properties and in a lot of cultures, especially east asian ones, dragons and snakes are often revered symbols of healing, rebirth, and longevity.
Yes Brandon, PLEASE make the potter/clay analogy episode. Would ALSO be helpful to address the blacksmith analogy as well when it comes to how God is supposedly "forming" us in trials and tribulations.
In my old church, the prophet often prophesied, and "God" called us worms and even lower than worms. Sometimes others were told to grab you and throw you out, and you have to either leave (permanently, in disgrace) or crawl back, crying and begging for forgiveness. It was brutal.
I truly appreciate what you do and the time you take to engage with others. I remember a night when I was completely overwhelmed, spending hours in tears, trying to pray and convince myself of God’s goodness. It tore me apart to think about my own child, whom I love deeply, possibly ending up in hell. The mental anguish of trying to reconcile my love for my child with the idea of loving a God who could allow that was devastating. My mind simply couldn’t handle it. Looking back now, I see how much emotion and belief I poured into those moments, and I shake my head at how trapped I felt. It’s been about eight months since I’ve stepped away, and life feels lighter now.
This was a great topic Brandon, and I remember hearing from Christians saying that Christianity is not a Religion it`s a relationship. Some relationship! a God that puts himself on a pedestal over his lowly, sinful, broken, creatures. Pretty sure Christians would consider this idea to be an abusive relationship in any other context.
My family went to this church for a few weeks where the pastor would often emphasize how lowly and unworthy we are as god's people. My dad, who is also a pastor, eventually went up to him to correct him on this language, probably pointing out some of the instances where we are described in a more positive light. I wonder now if that pastor was actually right to teach in the way he did, based on the bible.
The preachers who stick closest to the Bible are usually the most radical. The persecution complex kicks in when everyone eventually despises them, and that reinforces their delusion. The ones with a soft message have to compromise somewhere.
Great video as always! Would love it if you do a future video on the kingdom of heaven, as scripture is a bit inconsistent with its meaning. Is it supposed to be a physical place, or a spiritual state of mind (Luke 17:20-21)?
Is it just me or does all of this stuff coming from the Bible sound like the stuff that a child would be making up about an abusive/ absent parent? Trying to convince themselves that this parent really does love them, etc. Thanks for bringing this up Brandon, this was something kind of crucial to me when I was a Christian. A chronically depressed Christian who felt like there was a no win situation when it came to Christianity. I was never able to reconcile myself to actually believing that this God was in any way real, yet I had had this toxic ideology pumped into my little brain from the time I was born. Thanks for pointing this out to other people who know there's something wrong there, but can't quite figure it out. ❤❤
Damn, your Sisyphus' back on your painting makes me want to work out again lol. Brandon's videos are not just good for the mind, but also the body turns out.
This is the kind of stuff that I wish believers would ponder. It just doesn't make sense. My dog doesn't wait for the bread to be tossed to him, he takes it for himself!
I have been told over and over that the bible has no contradictions. But you start with Jesus saying that we need to be like a child to enter the kingdom. But Paul says in 1st Corinthians, When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. He is saying to put away childish things. So do you need to be like a child or not? You can’t have it both ways. Of course someone is going to say that they mean different things. No it doesn’t. You enter the kingdom being like a child or you need to mature and stop being a child.
Hate to be that guy, but yes it is different. Here St Paul is talking about being childish or immature in other places such as Matthew 18:1-5 it's talking about childlike humility and simplicity
@ as expected, special pleading. It’s not what it says. You can twist it to make it look like this was their intention, but it’s clear that both are referring to the character of the child. As I said, you cannot have it both ways. If what you say is what they were saying, then why didn’t they say so. Sorry but your assumption is not what they are saying.
@@robertjimenez5984 If your reading of scripture leads you to find supposed contradictions, why do you assume it's scripture's fault and not your own misguided interpretation? Just from a plain reading, its pretty obvious that there are two different ways or reading childlike in two different contexts, one as being humble and one as being immature. You quite literally can have it both ways
@@tandrew651 he clearly says that when he was a child, he spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. He is referring to all the child reasonings and thoughts. Where do you think a child gets their humble instincts? A instinct that changes when they grow up. So what he is saying is that when he was a child he was humble and now he is an adult and left that way of thinking behind? This is what you are claiming he is saying. But for sure someone is going to comment about this. Let’s see what others think.
St Paul is talking about growing and change from one stage to another. He’s actually not even staying that is was necessarily good that he gave up his childish ways. Just using it as an illustration of how things change and pass away but love is eternal. Whereas in Matthew, Christ shows us how we ought to approach God with the humility and simplicity of children
What most Christians don't think about, is what it means to be a "good shepherd". Does a "good shepherd" have his flock's best interests at heart? No. He'll exploit the sheep for their wool, and then ultimately butcher them.
I'm continually astonished by how much I missed when I was reading the bible as a christian. I really was like a little child: naive, gullible, easily influenced. I would put on my "god hat" and pick up the bible and will myself into that Neverland where I forced square pegs into round holes and came away thinking I knew the secrets of the universe. I mean, the bible is Littered with outrageous passages that show god to be monstrous. Did I notice? When I did, I would just pray harder and hope god hadn't noticed my treason. Haha. I was never sure he was on my side. Life makes sense now, but I do wish I had figured it out sooner.
OP, been feeling the same way. I see things vastly different now as opposed to when I was a "believer." It is a horrible feeling to know I followed a horrible teaching that was meant to put everybody down (except for the arrogant in society and the clergy). Life does make better sense now, but sometimes a person has chosen so poorly (based on religion) that they cannot escape the ultimate nose-dive religion put them into. Brandon puts things into much better order in these videos than any church/pastor/book could EVER do!
When you're blinded by faith, you tend to ignore or make excuses for the fact that this thing would be a horrifically evil entity if it were real. I'm glad you, like myself, have escaped from the mental disease of religion 🙏
Therapist: What's your relationship with god like? Christian: Well... I'm a ceramic pot, slave, child-bride sheep of my shepherd father, who is simultaneously all just and all merciful... Therapist: We're gonna need a few more sessions to unpack that.
Yeah I remember that even back in my Catholic days I was always horrified when my fellow believers called themselves tools/instruments of god. It's not flattering but demeaning, in its literal or especially figurative use. Though the latter is probably more accurate. God wants you to be his perfectly obedient little slave, but only out of your own volition. That's called perverse narcissism by the way.
And St. Therese of Lisieux aka The Little Flower wrote in her autobiography that she saw herself as a plaything for the Child Jesus, a little ball to be exact, that he could play with or toss in the corner as he chose. I used to think WOW, what faith, what acceptance. Now I just shake my head.
Women are seen as vessels very directly by a lot of people. I would argue that all of these names/issues are amplified by modern Christianity, when it comes to women. The misogyny in Christianity is horrifying, and that plays out in conservative politics…
One of the most holy titles in Orthodoxy of Mary, mother of Jesus, is Theotokos. It is a little more than 'mother of God' or 'God bearer', but the meaning almost becomes 'Creator of God.' As such, it has been controversial, as it suggests Mary has divine status. Considering the same religion has told many stories about prophets who were so special they visited Heaven or gained special thrones near Yahweh, it says something that the concept of a woman uplifted by Yahweh should be so disapproved of.
@@BadficwriterGrowing up I admired the denominations that showed respect for Mother Mary akin to the many Saints, but even those branches had rotted wood beneath their smoothened bark
@@Badficwriter you are describing a “ vessel “ someone without autonomy. That kind of makes my point. Mary is only valuable because of bearing and birthing someone else. Do you not see that?
"God's Word" is whatever people NEED it to be. If you need hate, there are verses for that. If you need love, there are verses for that. If you need to care for slaves there are verses for that too, therefore it being fully negotiable, Biblical text can never MEAN what it never MEANT.
Funny thing is it's easy to agree with the line about dust from a secular view. It's only disgusting when it's something a god says to his supposed children.
I find it interesting that religious believers are compared to sheep. What happens to sheep? At best they are fleeced which is ironic given how rich some preachers have become. At worst they are butchered and eaten. Speaking of fleecing the flock, (he was worth over $40,000,000 dollars,) end times "bible prophecy expert" Hal Lindsey died on November 25, 2024, two days after his 95th birthday.
It always used to bother me when my mom would say, "you kids" lumping me and my older brother together with disgust and disdain. That was the first thing that came up as you encouraged us to imagine if a truly loving parent would act this way. Yeah
Good gravy! When I was a kid, I treated my TOYS with more respect! It took more time to treat my fellow humans the same way, but even then I didn’t call them worms or vessels because A) They’d probably kick my a**, B) They don’t belong to me, and C) I would be friendless. It probably explains why Yahweh is a loner. The other deities couldn’t put up with his bulls**t. 😂 That said, have a Happy New Year, everyone!
For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. Isaiah 64:6 In Hebrew, the “filthy rags” meant menstrual cloths. Misogyny added…
Theramintrees has a rather enlightening video on the topic of infantilization that discusses treatment of people as children and the negative effects it has on people. Its a core part of christianity, constantly keeping people in the subservient role, always one down and unworthy. It's a gross abuse that isn't always obvious, unless you can see it for what it is, which won't happen if religious leaders keep their followers stuck in the child role. I remember questioning this topic when I was pretty young, it felt wrong. I didn't really grasp the depth of it until much later in life.
After 30 years of the fear, shame and abuse of it all I'm finally done with this nightmare myself! Too long to explain... very sad and depressing! 😔 Going to try to have be in of the best for whatever time I may have left. BTW... Thanks you for all the times you raise money to help others. Take Care
Your in depth analysis of the scriptures has led me to the conclusion that God was originally an ancient tribal leader, who had been built up over the years into a god by re-telling of stories by men with agendas and ulterior motives. Nothing supernatural. With that understanding, the original Jesus was a Nazarene insurgent, undermining the hegemony supporting Roman rule.
right. You get that from uneducated, frustrated, angry, envious, insecure people because that's what they think others care about since they are sensitive to it. In His Image, after all.
Ready for some brilliant apologetic YT channels to deboonk this one with arguments that come down to “god can do whatever he wants” aka pulling out “forcefield!” when playing rock paper scissors and just not seriously grappling with what one hypothetically would expect of a truly perfect being rather than the best being that very simple very unenlightened people who suffered greatly every day could conceive of thousands of years ago.
5:52. The clay and the potter analogy always bothered me even when I was a Christian. Paul initially gives a non-answer on this (Rom 9:15-18), and then just doubles down on it (Rom 9:19-24). It took awhile to be able to question this openly. It's a terrible argument.
Your helping me finally see things I've never seen for whatever reason for most of my life. I think too many of us just accepted a nice Xmas story but didn't know the deep history of everything and all the writings. Been spending last couple years researching its really heartbreaking how little most people know because so much is glossed over. Tried so hard, prayed for everyone everything. Left in poverty and have many things need help support and healing with and it just doesn't happen. Yet the abusing misinformed religious I deal with get so much makes no sense. Anyways, venting off!💔
People see shepherd as a good term but what are shepherds really? They only care for sheep for their own benefit and in the end, you wind up on the dinner table. (or I guess your blood gets used for a blood magic ritual)
brandon these videos always make me laugh because when arguing with theists about god and specifically the atrocities he committed according to the bible, they will ask you to mention specific verses or whatever and then im just like well……lol. It’s like when ur arguing with ur partner about something they do that annoys you and then when they ask you to bring up a specific instance where it happened ur mind just goes blank 🤣
It's an interesting deflection they do, trying to take the responsibility entirely off their own shoulders instead of recognizing how much contradictory text is within the book(s) they (supposedly) read quite regularly :/
I have a different view of children. Children are sometimes better than us, so we should be a bit more like children. The problem here is one of contradictions and over-generalization. Children have some qualities that adults have usually lost, and adults have cultivated qualities that are beyond the capabilities of children. We must learn about children to learn how to raise and educate them, but we should not try to be children and children should not try to be adults. The Bible is the worst document in the world to learn about children. The writers did not understand them, or try to listen to them, or see a place for them in their communities. They just needed them to be quiet and submissive, just like women. And on comes Jesus to tell us to be like children without any explanation? This is a total mess.

You are a genius in your Mindshift channel. You have already earned yourself a place in history as a great critical expositor of the Bible, turning the Bible on its head from millenia of incorrect perception. It is no wonder why I have perceived for years that the God of the Bible does not acknowledge or describe or strongly condemn the ubiquitous reality of parental neglects and mistreatments and abuses of children, it is because this God regards children in the same demeaning way as the import of this presentation of yours.

yeah we always crack down hard on the cherry pickers....but honestly to me those are the best kind of believers as they prove they're capable of better morals than the book. Of course that leads to the question what exact faith are they following at that point. And are they not basically creating that 1 millionth denomination in their mind, reducing religion to a mere personal opinion.

The last sentence is so spot on. What it always comes down to is paying tithes which is considered obeying god. Literally, churches I’ve been to equate obedience to tithing.
Religion = cult
@@GraavyTraain "Don't sacrifice lame or sick animals to God, who do you think you are, putting crap like that on God's table?" -The priests who took food away from their 'flock' and pretended like God needs to eat.
It's literally written into the damn bible itself: _you don't deserve the good shit, give it to your leaders instead._
At least the priests of Offler would fry up the offering sausages and eat them right in front of you while _pretending_ they tasted like ashes.
Why have i not thought of this before you must be some sought of genius bravo sheep are for food 😢
Me when I don't understand how metaphors work:
The sheep/shepherd relationship is more complex than that, there's some interesting cognitive dissonance involved. So shepherds (and cowherds &c) do care about their stock but, as you point out, the eventual goal is to make a profit from the stock.
And, yeah, even in the days when I tried to believe, I always found the shepherd metaphor disturbing.
When I read this metaphor in the Bible, I don't think God is going to take my wool. I don't grow wool by the way in case anyone was wondering
@@tandrew651so clearly you *are not a sheep!* How wrong can god get this??😊
How could anybody want to worship a God who treats his creation awfully and is repulsed by us?
@@Vince13201True! Didn't God also speak during Jesus' baptism for all to hear? A contradiction that's even closer to when Jesus made that claim

Most people are more respectful to their pets than the god of the Bible is to humanity. 🤦🏼♀️
No doubt! I took the extra 20 seconds needed to move a spider outside last week instead of squashing it and in doing so just became more benevolent than this god. The bar is low
@ Good for you! Every creature plays a part in the balance of nature - God doesn’t seem to know that. 🤪
And people called Christians delusional and brainwashed I have never heard seen a more delusional comment section
And most of the people who _aren't_ respectful to their pets you can just _bet_ they're regulars in church. Or pretend to be, anyway.
@EdwardHowton Ridiculous statement Church people are gentle and loving with their pets
The scariest one might have to be "brides", i mean imagine being forced to be linked with that monster essentially as a commodity.
I think I've mentioned before that our 'unworthiness' is part of what led me away from belief.
And we are reminded that even worms deserve respect because they were created by Yahweh for his great purpose.

Yeah, it's an abusive relationship with a malignant narcissist/psychopath. Total toxicity.
Thank you for this. Means a lot to me having left Christianity for good a couple years ago.
Great video as always! Would love it if you do a future video on the kingdom of heaven, as scripture is a bit inconsistent with its meaning. Is it supposed to be a physical place, or a spiritual state of mind (Luke 17:20-21)?
Thanks for the support! And on the list

I have been told over and over that the bible has no contradictions.
But you start with Jesus saying that we need to be like a child to enter the kingdom.
But Paul says in 1st Corinthians,
When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child.
@@tandrew651 he clearly says that
when he was a child, he spoke and thought and reasoned as a child.
Well said. So many of us can relate entirely

Sheep are also literally fleeced at regular intervals, and ultimately slaughtered.
Your in depth analysis of the scriptures has led me to the conclusion that God was originally an ancient tribal leader, who had been built up over the years into a god by re-telling of stories by men with agendas and ulterior motives.

@@MarkMiller-gt5tu thank you 🙏🏻 I’ll check it out
@keoneeG You're welcome. Have a Great Day and a safe and happy New Year. 🎊 💚.
A god needing "reassurance" 🤣 🤣 🤣!! I CAN'T!!
Ngl, I'm having trouble distinguishing what the difference between Yahweh and Satan is supposed to be 😂
Excellent ad always!
Just to think, without original sin, and the constant barrage of demeaning insults, shaming tactics, and incessant guilt mongering, the priesthood would not have had the finest wine, bread, and meat to eat. Then again, the priesthood got filthy rich off alms and offerings. Who says sin doesn't pay, when it's the gift that keeps on giving?
Were you asking for a thousand year journey to get out of pain? 100 years not enough for you?

Will you make fan meeting in the futrue? Love this channel🎉
Anything is possible. Maybe when its bigger yet. But so glad to hear.
Hey Brandon, I've reached a stage of uncertainty. I know when people deconstruct, they reach a stage of regret. The feeling of "should i return back?". I've reached that stage and wonder have a made a horrible mistake? However, its not that i dont want to go back, I can't go back. Alot of what you mention here is how god sees his creations. The bible talks clearly about how he treats his creations. I can no longer see god as a loving god, when even he knew I would become and Agnostic/Atheist when I wanted to be a minister. M. Dilla (Matt Dilahunty) and I share very similar stories except he was Navy and I was Army. Lol. I wish i could go back to believing and being oblivious, but I can't. Sorry for the long comment. I just want to know how you do get past this? Have you dont a video on this topic and could you tell me the name of it?
Oh i hear you man. Ignorance is bliss sometimes for sure. I did a video called the in-between. Maybe check that out if you have not yet. Doubting or Deconstructing? This is for You!

@MindShift-Brandon Thank you Brandon. Also please forgive the typos I'm sitting outside a gym trying to talk myself into working out and didn't proof read my comment. Lol. Happy New Year Professor B.
Think of some topics that seem fascinating to you and start reading up on those.
The world is your oyster and that is a good thing!
Have you been reading any good books lately Brandon? Any for Christmas gifts? I always look at the books on your shelves and think about that. I know you did a video on your favorite books on religious criticism a while back. I really enjoyed it.
Back in my classics phase. Have been eating up G.G. Marquez lately.
Good to hear. That’s a genre I need to get more into.
A god referring to HUMAN BEINGS as "🪱 WORMS" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣!! I CAN'T!!
Oh it's Sunday again... always confused around this time of the year ☕😉
Agreed. Feels weird!
I had to check as well. :)
