- It has been a long time coming but we finally decided to get my suspension on my Honda CRF300 Rally upgraded!
In this video we head out to the Beerburrum State Forest and go on the hunt for some single tracks to test out my suspension upgrade and see if it was really worth it?

Nice vid. Guys when you bump starting a 4 stroke you have to put in gear like 2nd gear and go backwards till the wheel locks when it hits the over side of the compression stroke. Then leave it in gear pull your clutch in and push till you pick up speed then dump the clutch. The motor will then start to turn and go through three cycles before reaching the top side of compression stork giving the motor a little moment to push it through compression and on to firing..Try it on the down hill path back home to get the feel for it.. Happy trails..

It’s amazing how age stops us mounting bikes like we used to , I now have to mount my Transalp by the stand on the left peg method , but conversely once on the bike and moving it makes one lose thirty years , all the aches dissappear
I still have the stock suspension on my 2023 Rally, and I only weigh about 73 Kilos. You are making me wonder if I should look into doing this upgrade. You are getting really good at this video making, Rem! Fantastic drone shots.

Tried "run starting" a 990 Adventure off pavement some years ago. Seems to be impossible, even in third gear - a large volume high compression twin is simply too hard to turn over, even in third gear. Need to remember to pack some cables if I am out with friends. Some simple loudspeaker cable works great!

Wonder if the suspension mod increased your seat height ?
I owned a rally and even though an experienced off road rider , found the stock suspension seat height too tall even after seat sag .
A trail bike needs to have a delicate balance between height and weight …at 152kg wet , perhaps for a shorter rider ( less than 30 inch inseam ) the Honda would benefit from a lowering link about 40mm to 50mm would be ideal perhaps .
Would make balancing the bike at low speed and stalling much much easier .
This is why I will never buy a dirt bike without a kick starter, at least as an option
Lol, Oldman ego, huh? probably why I'm selling my Africa twin to buy at cfmoto 450mt. Hate to admit it, but the Africa twin is wayyyyy too heavy for me .
