    I've ridden all sorts of ADV bikes & my current bike is a 1200GS which I love.
    I am a motorcycle instructor & students had been asking me about the 450MT, so I took one for a test ride, I liked it so much I surprised myself by buying one, the BMW is also staying btw 😊😊

    Test rode this at a CFMoto even this Sunday. First time I've ever been on an Adventure bike. At 170cm I was able to get my feet down both sides. Not flat, but enough to be confident to take it for a spin. No off roading, but the bike felt pretty nice. I didn't really feel the weight. And I thought the throttle response was a little smoother than the 800. I don't know about modes and such. There was a bunch of CFMoto bikes to test ride freely and I tried them all. I'm not about to go buy an ADV bike anytime soon, but that test ride gave me a positive impression of the type of bike, and CFMoto's model specifically.

    Loving my 450MT, I've had it out on Enduro loops in the bush, some single track around the Sunny Coast. It's definitely a capable bike, even on the factory tyres with a bit of air out 👌

    Cheers!! 🍻 Nice to get a different POV. The 450MT is definitely great value for money. I have been resisting the urge to swap my Rally for one but just can’t get past the weight. Sure when riding it’s not so noticeable but drop it a few times off road and you’ll then notice its extra kgs. So I modded my Rally with SSS 301cc kit including stage 3 ECU. Whacked on a lighter free flowing exhaust and high flow air filter plus suspension upgrade. Now it’s got that extra mid to high range punch while still being light and nimble. Problem solved 😎

    Such a pleasure to see moto family! Wish you a lot of great roads together! As for 450MT, it's a great choice. Very friendly, predictable and well capable off and on road bike. I've done already 9000km on that bike and it's great! For your Mom and Dad might be usefull to get a taller seat and handlebar risers. I have tham and it changed seating and standing position to more comfortable one. Also the taller seat is unbelievably soft :)

    I am currently riding a cfmoto 300sr on my learners permit. They are a nice bike to ride at a cheaper price. Comfortable to ride for longer rides and not sore at the end. Plenty of power. Mine is slightly heavier than other competitors. But other than that I am happy with cfmoto.

    I have the 450MT and love it. I had to lower seat for y short legs but it's an awesome 1st adventure bike. Tyres are good on the road and on hard packed dirt/gravel but bad in muddy conditions and soft sand I believe. You wont regret buying one

    Definitely try it with the higher seat, it's more comfortable and definitely puts you in a better seated attack position.
    I pre release ordered and expected to take some time to weigh up which I'd keep (the 450MT or Versys-X)... It didn't take long although I am yet to sell the Versys-X.

    The 890 is at least 20kg more.
    But the CFmoto 450mt needs 5 to 10 kg protection to be protect as the 890 is stock.
    I have a 790R since 5 years and I have just put on a better bash plate and she can fall offroad whithout problem to continue the trip.

    It's great having the opportunity to test out the cf450 moto! Definitely a good fit for light adventure riding and better road manners and lower centre of gravity to the ktm690!
    I would also consider looking for a used crf300 rally with low milage and the couple of thousand dollars saved vs buying new could go into aftermarket accessories, custom suspension & seat concepts seat for added comfort!

    There have been a couple of comparison tests of the CF Moto 450 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. There have been different opinions but it is often said that if you are touring on tarmac, the CF Moto is a better choice but on gravel the Himalayan is the better one. If you have the opportunity, also test the Himalayana 450 and choose a motorcycle based on where you will ride!

    Admittedly it doesn’t always work , but turning handlebar straight or even past straight away from sidestand side , can make getting the bike off the sidestand much easier ….on any bike .
    Sometimes the wheel won’t allow itself to be turned , so it isn’t always feasible , but it works often .

    Your dad should have laid it on it’s side and had you and your mom pick it up that would be the deciding factor to buy if you can’t lift it up buy yourself it would have to be a hard pass imo. The weight is the Achilles heel to that 450. I would definitely go back to the dealership and have them lay the bike down on cardboard and try to lift it you rather do it before you buy it then buy it and be sorry.

    People seem to gloss over the fact this bike is 430+lbs stock with no luggage or crash protection added to it. That's a lot of weight to pick up when you're loaded down in the bush. This ain't no light dual sport.

    • @transalpernz
      @transalpernz Місяць тому

      yes it's classed as an Adventure Bike not a Dual Sport, they used to all be the same but no more. But I find the 450mt easier to pick up than my DR650 was so where the weight sits counts.

    • @silverdale3207
      @silverdale3207 17 днів тому +1

      Exactly, all reviews I've seen focus on it being smaller , as in 450 so makes it sound like half the weight of a 900 or something. it's a heavy bike, a 450 needs to be more like 150-160 kg range to make sense.
