To all the dedicated workers who risked their life to create such a marvel
Totally agree took workers from 3 countries to pull together the Seven Star Hotel. Over $7 billion to build hotel and gardens. So yeah, it’s a real Marvel.
Having worked there for 3 years, I can guarantee you that the employees only areas in the basement levels is a city on it's own. I can easily clock 25k-30k steps during work every day.
@Anarkey what type of job did you have there? They hiring any gaming dealers there?
That's about 12 miles a day. I worked in a 100 room nursing home and clocked that on a good day. Was only about 25,000 square feet
"A billion dollars just isn't worth what it used to be!"
Ain't that the truth!
I feel his pain!
And that was back in 06 lol
When I 1st arrived in S’pore in ‘93, this plot was a water-filled harbor. Over 4 years I watched it get drained, reclaimed, and planted with trees to help stabilize the soil. I returned to S’pore again to work there in ‘08, and watched this construction take place. Very impressive!
How nice is Singapore to live/visit? Thanks for any info
@@MaximusMerideus Pros: Clean, safe, excellent transportation, great diversity of affordable food, English spoken everywhere, nice parks, friendly/courteous people, nice base for other regional travel. Cons: Weather is often hot and very humid, lodging is expensive.
How hard is it to spell Singapore that you opted to use S'pore? Just curious, no hate 😂
So many changes, and it change for the better Singapore. More clean and green environment.
@@onyxriver Habit. Even Singaporeans, including my wife, do it. 😎
i find building architecture and construction extremely interesting
"You can't think about it as individual buildings, you have to think about it as a piece of city. It's much more of a symphony than it is a sonata."
I couldn't have summarised this any better myself having just been last month. This is why Singapore is so far ahead in terms its architecture and city planning, because it all just works together so beautifully. The interconnectivity and accessibility is unlike anything I've ever seen, a true marvel of engineering resulting from nothing short of pure ambition.
I've always loved this structure, but had no idea how complex it's construction was, just insane!👍🗽
Any construction is very complex.
@@KingCircles But, this construction was over the top! Being mechanically inclined myself, with no contractors license, I feel confident I could oversee, and build a 5000sf home as that's not too complicated compared to the Sand's Resort.✌🗽
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of going to Singapore and watch Marina Bay Sands. Next year I want to visit the Sky Park. Don’t forget the light and music show at Marina Bay in the evening. It’s awesome! 😎👍🏽 I’m half Dane and half Singaporean. But I was blown away when I saw Marina Bay Sands. Love it! 🥰
Marina Bay Sands is an extraordinary project and undertaking compared to Singapore in 1960.
It will be fascinating to see how the new CAIRO linear city progresses. I hope it’s a huge success for Egypt.😊😮w
Huge respect for all workers who risk their life every day, amazing work.
No rick, no reward.
That dang Rick. Always being the center of attention.
Wow... Awesome video. Damanding job. I actually caught myself holding my breath until I watched another demand become met throughout the video. You gotta love intense job's❤
This is just mindboggling....
Thank you for the video. It was very interesting to watch. I used to do high rises back in the 80's but they were nothing like this! Great job everyone.
I saw this building during construction with the “ship” part built half way. It is still an amazing building to visit and while I am not a fan of casinos, I completely admire the design the design and engineering feat.
How long ago was that? When was this resort completed?
A modern day architectural, engineering, and construction masterpiece! ❤
What a gaudy piece of art to hang in the atrium. I see the art and the artist are truly matched.
i hate it
hats off to all involved - from planning, designing to all the engineering marvels involved in making this land mark of a structure! Unbelievable what can we as humans come up with, with all the tools, intellect and intelligence, knowledge and minds working together on the same page. Salutes!
and the trades people Skilled Trades
I live in Singapore and I have stayed in this hotel 3 times. It's not the most luxurious by far, in-fact, the rooms are as good as any high-end hotel. The infinity pool is cold and always crowded. It's hyped by social media and the tourists.
I agree. Other hotels like The Raffles, Capella, Fullerton Bay are much more luxurious
I take it the thing is more hype than reality. Very disappointing.
Ya blame the white architects & designers
Thanks for sharing this information. I love seeing Singapore grow, and maybe they'll expand it more someday when it comes to this Hotel. The design is complex and unique, but I think that's what I like about it.
Ay man, if you're not satisfied, gimme one of those hotel tickets one time 👍😁
It’s such a difficult challenge not only for the owner but also for all the managers. Each of them plays essentially different roles but has the same goal of contributing and succeeding🎉
Inside Singapore is truly the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen, the megastructures are the best...👍
Always a good to watch
Going up to the sky park is better value than the wheel :-)
Awesome wasabi 'crisps' :-)
Awesome and worth the money. Try to get on the side facing the GARDENS and wait for sun down. Amazing light shows
To watch a nighttime Grand Prix (the pinnacle of automobile racing technology) from the vista afforded by the improbable SkyPark (one of the pinnacles of modern structural engineering technology) ….must be truly a present day sci-fi phenomenon become real. Akin to pondering the future of humanity’s reach from the top office of the Tyrell Building or stepping aboard the bridge of the Enterprise. God I love Spark!

Amazing construction, so many unknown challenges for the Engineers, welders especially those metal lifters to a heights that is unbelievable heights, by watching the commentaries of those Engineers i don't doubt they have this kind of unknown butterfly feelings but after the pieces are in place together this can make them breath easy, & another projects to share with one another for solution, truly magnificent construction, one of each kind of Resort Casino in our World that transform how economy move on
Breathtakingly beautiful
How spectacular!!
And that's why Singapore is the most educated country in the world,I wish one day to visit this beautiful country 😊
Completely fascinating.
Swimming in that rooftop pool is amazing
It’d be a lot crazier if the ‘stilts’/Skyscrapers supporting the top deck crossing all 3… but there’s a reason they split at the bottom. It forms 6 Spread Legs holding the structure vs. 3 base points.
É incrível acompanhar todo o processo
What an ambitious achievement!
I agree ,the Ritz-Carlton is always my go-to,
but it is awesome see.
This project has long term success written all over it…
Massively complicated engineering project ✅ Country with poor building control ✅ Bad substrate and footings ✅
Good people's of Singapore 🇸🇬

Moshe Safdie turely made a work of art thank you for making and coming up with such a beautiful building
Behold the awesome power of decadent casino money.
I like that Sheldon Aldoson..I also like to think that thats how I'd be as a billionaire if I were ever so lucky.. Such an amazing project, engineered by the very best!..including from the boardroom, through the offices AND eventually the scaffolding! Brilliant!👌
We tried to visit this tower once on New Year’s Eve but the ques lasted for forever so had give up as had other engagements booked. The whole place was very beautiful. We took a boat tour around the area which I would highly recommend doing if you get a chance while visiting Singapore.
Que incrível ❤
Just curious what was the Narrator saying at 23:01 he was saying something about attempting but it was censor bleeped?
“Far more of a construction challenge than an artistic one.” Maybe the bleep was inadvertent?
Figured, I thought they were saying a cuss word but I guess people are offended sensitively, when I was younger people were taking everything funny, but now it’s the complete opposite…
Stayed there one night, on the 54th floor in 14-room suite. Quite nice.
Stay on the Harbor Side facing the GARDENS, it’s awesome. But the pool makes even the hardened road warrior humble. Rich or not Everyone in the pool feels special and expect to see lots of selfies it’s fun.
Garden side view is awesome at night
I would love to stay at this resort 😊
This channel is so calming and always puts me to sleep. 🥰🥰🥰
I think art is beginning to be valued by how difficult it is for an engineer to install.
I love Singapore.... Zimbabwe
If you want to build in water, just use Roman cement. That stuff will hold up for 2 thousand years.
I'm surprised some form mega project could be developed in the American hills of Kentucky or Tennessee.
I've noticed a lot of these projects are run by British engineers
Singapore is a British slave colony maybe if you were more book learned you would know that
Sheldon Adelson, the guy who created and financed it, was American.
I wa hoping for a tour after it was finished
Aesthetically I'm not a fan of this structure, but I admire the engineering and the skill that went into it's construction. Thanks for sharing this video.
Fully agreed.
Agree. The horizontal structure ontop looks weird
There are so many sick people in this world who admire modern day slavery.
I so wish I can visit some day. What building. I'd love to visit Singapore. An amazing country.
Fantastic video! Keep this safe, so that in 3K years when humans find this, they’ll think aliens or the Annunaki from planet Nibiru helped us built it. 😂
No way, Adelson, imagine my complete surprise
Muito legal 😮😮😮
Amazing structure, very ordinary hotel.
awesome man 3:09
Why at 23:00 is there a bleeped word, it honestly made the video so much better
Interesting, but I will continue to stay at Raffles when I go to Singapore.
LOL "A project of this size you'd expect the planning, with the design, with the construction, you would be expecting somewhere between 6-7 years. Here its basically a 3 year turn around"....Why? No explanation
Anybody else here think Destin & Diana would geek out seeing this!?!?...
*Me too!...
Good
Bueatiful
WTF is that at 22:59 HAHAHAHA
@JoshuaJEnriquez
Think the narrator got a bit too passionate
The next time you feel that your medium term plans are experiencing endless setback and you feel stressed, watch this video.
As a US Company... The Sands in Los Vegas. Why not invest in that in the USA?
Sands LV has most of their capital committed in Macao and Singapore and has for years, because gaming is still the profit driver in those locations. Las Vegas is more diversified, and margins are smaller.
23:00 why is there a bleep there?? did the narrator use a curse word?
What was beeped over at 23:00??
I honestly wondered why they weren't going to keep those cables inside tge concrete. There's no reason to remove them in my mind
I would like to check this casino hotel out.
Wtf was said at 23:01??!! That ‘beep’ scared the hell out of me.
How do you clean the giant cotton candy when it gets dirty in 5 years.
What was bleeped out at 23:00 ? lol that was pretty random
The actual inside of this place not even shown. I watched the whole thing awaiting the material actually in the video description.
staff canteen from paradise
This is stress!! How does this not just buckle under its own slanted weight?
Imagine the weigh of the water of the pool on the top. Water is very heavy.
❤
Employing Moshe should proof it against any future "911's" ... still an absolutely incredible project to pull off in just 3 years!
I’m still so confused by how they stabilize the ground and marine clay to make it able to hold huge buildings ?!!? 😂😅
I want to see ULTRAVIOLET again
Do they have any penny machines?
Most luxurious in Singapore.
Now that ai is taking over the architect’s everyone is in trouble
YTL cement lafarge simen ada terima 25 gerabak cement ipoh ke Singapura 18:32
How do they make sure each of the 16,000 project workers are qualified??! This is making me feel overwhelmed 😂😂🤒
nice for now but the sea level are rising. good luck
Also the comment that winds might topple this structure is ridiculous. Thousands of hours of the best stress and structural engineering has been used to create a perfect storm proof system.
great content; too many youtube commercials.
That sculptor is completely full of himself...
How much cost this hotel just for one night please can someone tell my
Who else sees their kids' slinky disaster in that "sculpture" hanging in that huge void?
The stainless steel artwork was not pretty to me. If it lit up like they showed in animation it would have been amazing. But not lit up it looks like nothing.
At least not as hideous as 'The Angel of the North'.
So? At least the Marina Bay Sands attraction is good.
It will be scrapped in a few years.
Do they clean it?
@@tha92106just think that. What a pain to dust
5B is alot for real estate
Thought we were going to see the inside?
sounds like they avoided wages? while it dried
While trying to respect that big piece of art, how would any guest know if it wasn't made right????? Hey honey, that angle is way off.
Talk about the lack of inspections and slave wages.
One thing is for sure. That engineer hates that piece of art. Really truly hates it.
It's a standing piece of 3.14 π
