That Boo game had a really cool art style in the concept art. If the actual game had been able to capture that style, it would have been one of my favorite "Mario" games from an aesthetic standpoint. On top of that, the idea of a game centering on Boos is intriguing. I have the feeling it would have looked fundamentally different from any other games in the franchise.

I don't consider Paper Mario a sequel to SMRPG. Two different storylines. Paper Mario is its own animal. SMRPG does need a proper sequel, maybe with some updated mechanics. It could be a good Switch game.
