I always thought coach said "wizard" all 4 years of high school, and I was too embarrassed to ask otherwise
A lot of coaches actually DO say "wizard," but they are basically outing themselves as morons when they do, because its called a whizzer. You may well have heard him correctly.
SAME
Lol fr but I think that’s just how they say it
Jonathan Ngo oh shit I just found that out 😳
DiceMan4221 haha but one doesn’t need to be a moron to misuse/misidentify.
Wow. This movement would be a beautiful entrance into a twister submission from a single leg takedown in Jiu Jitsu too. I definitely want to try this.
The twister is a wrestling move lol it's called the guillotine
@@Logan-zv4xg okay.. but grappling has a move colloquially known as the guillotine already.. so we call it the twister... Not sure what you're trying to prove exactly.
@@Logan-zv4xg Guilloutine is a choke.
Twister is a neck crank.
You know that, don't you?
@@merziinarie6266 the twister was originally a move in wrestling called the guillotine.
@@Logan-zv4xg Ok, my bad.
This dude helped me way more than my wrestling coach in school. If it wasn't for me getting seriously sick I would of went to state. Everything I've learned comes from this man and my teammates that I drilled with. 11 years later this video pops up in my recommendations lol thanks you UA-cam.
The best technical wrestling videos on UA-cam. Simple,Short and straight to the point with good details. This move right here is good to take someones back for a rear naked choke in Submission Wrestling
Best damn technical wrestling period!! 2 minute videos no BS!
this is one of the most badass take down ive ever seen
I'm falling in love with wrestling. It's so dang.... Practical and fun to watch. Can't wait till I try it.
Nice, thanks a ton Cary!
For mixed martial arts, it seems like you land in a really advantageous position to throw punches to the face and sternum. This one is great.
Sternum?? You can punch my sternum all day and I'll laugh at you. Twist my spine and I'll cry
That's an awesome setup for a twister submission
Very good videos from this site.
This man is a very good wrestler hes teaching me alot
These videos are great
Finish with the Twister. Very nice!
this is amazing for Jiujitsu
Wow Fantastic! i gotta try this when wrestling starts
Right into a twister submission 💯🤑🤑
this looks SICK!!!
It's amazing to think that a there has to be someone out there who taught HIM how to do all this stuff... I vote Bruce Lee's ghost was Kolat's secret personal trainer
It's called wrestling your entire life. I promise he's done it since he was about 4.
lol bruce lee? da fuq does he know about tier 1 level grappling to trach kolat?
What An Amazing Move I Learned from you
never learned this one. this is sick!
Gary kolat you are my real hero
dang thats insanley smooth
sick wrestling techniques
Awesome.
That could easily be used from the jiu-jitsu dog position. I like it!
wow this is amazing
Go for the twister
I like you set and tips.........
omg this should help so much
Nice move
This is my favorite move, I just need to get better at it.
Bart threatening a Dalai Lama French kiss with a whizzer, and Nick just lifting him for a hip toss. The Boys
Very cool application here!
Very fluid
thanks man
You're welcome!
if you do grappling or jiu jitsu.. this can be nice also.. a very nice setup for the twister submission lol..
@derlissa yes it is
Kolat sir
Make me learn a technique many times I saw in wwe head of opponent under grip of our left shoulder and with the help of right hand we lift opponent back side by holding his leg
Go watch IBBJF bro, wwe is a foolish shit ! 🙏
Perfect move for me to master.
que chingona llave, ese movimeinto es la neta
head to the inside can be proper for chest pressure.also if hes not looking for chest pressure it may be a mistake.our job as wrestlers is to be prepared for that and to capitalize on it.
You should transfer to a 1080p HD quality video, it would make these videos much better for viewing. Most cameras these days use 1080
This was produced in 2007. Our newer videos are HD (1080) however we only release limited samples from our video library on UA-cam. Our website kolat.com has over 2400 videos including newer HD videos. Thanks for watching.
the best👍
I always practice with my friend and I always find my self doing a whizzer but my friend is in the middle of “shelfing it” but I’m flexible enough to push his head down with my other arm while having a DEEP whizzer and since we don’t have a ref to call stalemate I can’t really hit a move and I just have to wait till my friend gets tired or he gets the take down... what do should I do and any videos you recommend me to watch I really need help
this guy's fucking amazing
Bravo, professor. Beautiful technique.
Glad you liked it!
strikes involved in this position would be deadly
This is wrestling no strikes allowed.
@@KOLATCOM Wrestling transitions well into MMA , No disrepect intended .
Good
Since this sport is new to me, this is the first video I've come across where a technique is taught fundamentally different. It's about the whizzer. Kolat makes it more of an arm-strength technique, and Rob Knoll makes it more of a hip-driven movement. Maybe because a "whizzer pull-up" is different than a "whizzer"? Any thoughts on the differences or preferences from any wrestlers out there?
Rob Knoll whizzer: ua-cam.com/video/inXW9XDeR6s/v-deo.html
hahha yes.. I can use some wrestling techniques for grappling.. very useful
Nice !!!!!!!!
Thanks!!
My goodness I think I finally understand that greek statue!!!
Maybe its just me, but I feel like I take more away from it by just watching, than having it told to me step-by-step. Its hard to tell what the hell is going on, unless you can see it at full speed. That was what I thought was best about this video.
Looks like a great Guillotine set-up.
The best
nice
This works if the guy is in your weight class but if you’re going absolute it’s easier to just jump into a triangle
Perfect setup for a twister
Illegal move in BJJ !!
@@oganrafaeldeode5733 which rules?
what a beastt
Well hello twister combo how are you.
Ikr..i was thinking the same thing. I love MMA!
FightStrategistMMA What y'all are calling the twister, is in reality a "Wrestlers Guillotine" and has been in the wrestlers repertoire for quite sometime, I've seen wrestling instructionals from the 70s teaching it as if it were a standard move nothing special at all just another pinning combination.
JudoMateo you are 100% correct. All Eddie Bravo does in his breakdown of the twister is show how to put more pressure on the neck.
alleycatufc I seriously doubt that no other wrestler hadn't figured out ways to increase pressure on the neck also. Pressure on the neck is a pinning fundamental!
JudoMateo Actually if you just want to pin your opponent then it is better to get lower on the head. If you wanna make them submit then you gable grip around the temple. I have never seen a wrestler until recent figure 4 the head for pressure. That's Jiu Jitsu. The more pressure you apply to the top of the head, the more it lifts your opponent's back off the mat, defeating the purpose of pinning them . The best way to pin your opponent is a classic wrestlers guillotine. I've wrestled my whole life, but there is no denying that Eddie Bravo has made this a more effective move via the Swedish twister.
Yeah nice move
Thank you!
I feel sorry for the next guy who tries to single leg me...hahahah sprawl to twister ftw!
To cool
Thas tight
There is always one hater. Great video by the way.
1 step for the fuckin twister
@fourarms325 thats how i did it .... your right on about that
@ElGamers you bet it is!
@rockstr56 Twister = guillotine = move in wrestling
Eddie Bravo :D
cool
can u do a step over on a single leg sweep
Once you high step and hook his right leg, figure 4 it and you got a twister isn't that a pin in wrestling? Idk I'm learning wrestling to better my bjj for most its the other way around.....
not bad
@jonathanhart54 you get 5. 2take down and 3 near fall
or go for eddie bravo "twister" finish hehe
Can you show us a cross face cradle
tried wont work. might be because im not setting it up correctly
Any way to get out of a fire mans carry or over the shoulder carry? Just messing around with friends and I have him pinned but I get up and he throws me over the shoulder since I'm a light guy, couldn't find anything about getting out of a fire mans carry or over the shoulder
+xAH Slim The counter to a fireman's carry is to hip into your opponent and shrug your shoulder to slip your elbow out of his grip. When you hip in be careful not to put your weight on his shoulder and once the fireman's has been stopped be ready to counter your opponent if tries to change off to a high crotch or a double leg.
OK much appreciated
Cary-
What is your opinion on cross over wrestling into mma? what should someone who is s striker by nature be trying to pick up from wrestling. I want to do dirty boxing and striking on the inside with elbows knees etc. How scared does strikes make a wrestler?
Thanks
If you are trying to put wrestling into your mma game then you want to work on takedowns. As for how scared someone becomes from being struck that depends on the person. If you are going into mma then you should probably get yourself accustomed to being punched or kicked and have the ability to respond to it. Good luck!
You need to learn takedown defense. Also how to wall walk up the cage via Chuck Liddell. Be careful when you kick because you can be taken down by a high-level wrestler. The standing switch or Kimora will help you get out of a take down attempt. Learn to keep the distance in your striking world and also learn basic wrestling takedowns to score points. When your opponent can be struck or taken down you will then confuse and keep them guessing. Best of luck in your journey
when you whizzer and get that under hook, can you go for a lateral drop throw?
he has another video on that.. you push into them.. it would be better from standing... no room to sit in,, but it could be possible, its a better move from half guard..
did you make all your vids in one day
Is that Obe Blanc, the 55kg wrestler for 2013 world championships?
@fourarms325 yes i made and won states
how many points would this get you? i'm thinking 3
2020
Is this legal in folkstyle wrestling?
Easy back take
not saying this wont work cause it could but a good wrestler will feel you jack him up with a hook and imidiately circle out he wont just stay there like that and he also wont swing so far out he will stay nice and tight of the chances of that happening are lower
Tell me what you can do with one hand and one leg.
Which is why this won't be the only whizzer/overhook attack in your arsenal. If your opponent stays tight, this opens up a three-quarter nelson or Kimura sweep instead. Every counter can be countered in turn.
Zack Mitchell You're right it won't work all the time but its a good move to know just in case the situation presents itself. Logan Steiber hit this move in the finals of this years NCAA National tournament. The only difference was that the other guy had the whizzer and had the underhook but he had more pressure down one the other guys shoulder and hit this same move.
In BJJ i get this position alot times specially with ( brownbelts and purple) but im go to the finish, everytime , finish the arm , choke him, trying flying omoplata, wrestling dont have submission ??
🌪🌪🌪🌪
@etagged thats wat id do
Or, if it's MMA and you're Dustin Hazlett, you step all the way over their head for an armbar.
dude you are the sh*t!
i missed the joke !
what kind of style of wrestling is this?
+Grim Reaper collegiate (aka folkstyle)
why would they shoot and put there head across the stomach
lol
look at dem calves.
:56 model hit demonstrator on the leg
Eh me personally I would grab the wizzar and run the cow catcher in the other side.
