Reading, that TLoU Part 2 is Game Of The Year 2020 made me happy!! This game had to face so much hate after its release but in the end it received recognition.
Reminds me of the following: it was Ellie and Dina in Seattle (Day 1?). They found this letter (written by a priest?).
I can not make a direct quote but it was like this: if you have to face despair, a turning point will occur which leads to an even much better outcome / change for the better.

Going into this game for the first time, I was terrified being fully aware of the backlash and hate, then playing it for the first time, wondering if I was playing the same game, I thought I was the only one who liked the game for days (if not maybe weeks) to finding out there are others who feel the same, now, it won GOTY

I also find it ironic that most of the people who hate this game didn't get the core message at all, it's not a story about revenge, sure revenge may be the inciting plot incident, but it's ultimately a story about forgiveness, overcoming trauma, and learning to recognize that there's two sides to every story. Sadly they just weren't able to forgive due to their close mindedness and hatred... Something that Tommy also fell victim too ironically...

So beautiful and I am so happy for Laura Bailey and equally impressed of her portrayal of a character I hated, to one I admired and respected. If anyone is reading this and still wondering why it won, consider that no matter how much you hate it or resent it, it impacted you in a way no other game has, and it still is.

But I wish I did more. The last of us 2 didn’t really make me feel anything that wast sorry for Ellie. Abby was token in a bad direction, I wish I could’ve seen her reflect at all on her actions but we don’t. I saw Ellie break down after killing a pregnant girl (even though she’s killed a lot of people so idk why she’s breaking down.) but I felt bad. I saw Abby almost happy to slit a pregnant girls throat. I saw Ellie reflect on her actions and have real consequences for them, like ptsd. I saw Abby have nightmares and kind hints to the fact that she’s helping the lev and yara but never really says it. I saw Ellie have to leave people behind while I saw Abby kill the pepole she called friends with no remorse. Hell even when manny died he’s never mentioned again, she barely remembered him past that point. It’s just to much stuff and I can still go on. It’s not a terrible game gameplay wise in my opinion, I go back to play it sometimes now! But god the story has dived people so much and there’s so many plot holes that you really HAVE to try to ignore the criticism to like it

Like I'm sorry but I dont get this. Laura getting death threats was absolutely horrible and it's nice that she's getting some love now but I don't understand thinking of an award for best performance like a form of compensation for getting death threats. Seems a little unfair when Ashley was just as deserving if not more IMHO

    • @tlou_explained
      @tlou_explained 3 роки тому

@@cmdrshep2217 yeah I get that. But there's only one award, and there's often politics around who gets it. Imo, laura had the more challenging role, and the death threats were a result of that. By giving her the award it a) acknowledges the amazing work she did with a VERY complex character who the player feels compelled to hate at the beginning and eventually comes to empathize with and even care about, and b) sends a message to the gaming community that the kind of vitriol we have seen surrounding this game and character will not be tolerated or placated.
Ashley did an incredible job and I think it's important that Laura acknowledged that her and Troy's performances formed the emotional core of the story in the first game, but (imo!) Abby was the emotional core of the second, and giving Ashley the award over Laura would have been fuel for the 'i hate Abby/Laura' fire.

    • @cmdrshep2217
      @cmdrshep2217 3 роки тому

@@tlou_explained I guess I just disagree with Abby being the emotional core. I see her part of the game as a grand way of still serving Joel and Ellie's story in this game which to me is still the core. First game was about the love Joel develops for Ellie and this game IMO explores Ellie's love for Joel but just in a different way.
I think Laura is great and did a great job but I found Ashley's role more challenging and she had more powerful scenes. Ashley had to age up her character, still play younger versions in flashbacks, sing in character and overall convey a broader range of emotions.
I know there's some politics behind the award but personally it's a shame then that a best performance award isnt solely about performances.

just in response to ur question, I'd say Joel trusted Abby's group since he had been in no dangerous situations with humans for the past 3-4 years since he moved to jackson. @@anonymoustangerine Yup. If you go through the whole thing, the only mistake they made was missing Abby's reaction to hearing Joel's name when Tommy initially introduced them both (using first names only mind) to reassure a scared girl back in the first lodge. Considering a horde of infected were breaking in at the time it's understandable. Most criticism I see deliberately ignores details in the story or vastly over exaggerates what happened. The main ones I can remember? 1) Joel would spot a trap: It wasn't a trap so there was nothing to spot. No one knew who they were when they arrived and they were initially grateful to them for bringing their friend back. 2) They wouldn't "invite everyone back to their camp": They didn't. They invited everyone back to the large fortified city they lived in, not their own houses within it. This is how Jackson grows. Some people stay, some trade and moved on. 3) They were a "heavily armed group": They weren't. Everyone had a pistol and I saw one shotgun. That's pretty normal in TLOU. If anything it's too lightly armed. The patrols from Jackson were more heavily armed with everyone having a rifle and a pistol. 4) Joel wouldn't help Abby: The patrols regularly help stragglers. If Joel wasn't willing to help people they wouldn't send him on patrol. He has clearly changed over the preceding four years and if he was still just the selfish smuggler from Boston people wouldn't have left so many flowers at his house after his death.

"This means that players voted more for the performance of Abby..."
That's just the thing, as far as the Game Awards goes, our votes only account for 10% of the final results.
    . . . . . . . .
Can we confirm that the majority of player votes went for Laura Bailey? Even if you absolutely love this game, as I do, not only is your emotional attachment in favor of your nostalgia for the experiences you've had as Ellie, your common sense would recognize that Ashley Johnson's performance had the weight of a profound experience she's been taking part in long before this game was even announced to be in production, and looking further into it you'd know that Ellie wouldn't be Ellie without Ashley Johnson's imprint on that character, an imprint climaxing as Ashley Johnson's performance dives into five different versions of Ellie in ONE game. Ashley Johnson's performance isn't better because anyone hates Abby, it's more dynamic, and the toll it took on the actress is far heavier than we can imagine, because being the very mind body and spirit that participated in the creation of the character, the very challenges we feel in our endearment of Ellie, were challenges Ashley faced in their undertaking, as if they were her own.

Honestly... does it matter? Both of their performances were absolutely AMAZING, and we can't know what's in everyone's head!
I know Ellie and Abby are antagonists in the game, but as players maybe let's not pit them against each other? And let's especially NOT pit Ashley and Laura against each other: those two are real life friends who play D&D weekly and who love each other and who'd be happy for the other one winning no matter what!
Let's just appreciate that the game got two nominations-worthy performances instead of one and that either of them could have won it, shall we?

The best game I've ever played. There is no other game that has made me feel so empty, sad, shocked, happy, nervous, excited, etc.
Everything from the story, the beautiful, graphic and so incredibly artistic environments to the characters in this deeply dark journey.
The second the game was released, I played all night. I was so curious, so expectant. To be able to continue the journey with these fantastic characters was something you really longed for and I am so happy about how Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann chose to go with the story. They wanted to tell their story and they did an incomparable job that felt packed with emotion. There were a lot of times when you just had to take a break because there was so much to take in. But at the same time it was not possible to stop playing.
Last of Us Part 2 is very much about understanding the story, understanding the choices that are made, understanding why characters feel the way they do. This game, compared to the first game, is much darker. The story goes very deep, when it comes to playing with one's emotions and this is what Naughty Dog wanted the player to feel during the game. We know what happened at the end of the first game and it is clear that there will be consequences. Naughty Dog wanted you to feel anger, sadness, relief, happiness. Which also meant that this game received a lot of mixed reviews.
But I think the game over time will be appreciated more. Because it really is a masterpiece in so many ways and the game will be hard to forget.
    Thank you Naughty Dog!
    10/10 Masterpiece!

Masterpiece? Both of Ellie's revenge quests (Seattle and Santa Barbara) were unbelievable and unrealistic. Abby had a superior revenge motive over Ellie. Joel killed her father, the leader of the Fireflies (and other faction members) and he doomed humanity to further zombie apocalypse. Ellie knew that Joel killed the Fireflies, denied the world a cure, took away her choice and agency, lied to her for years, told her that her immunity meant nothing, invalidated her hardship and trauma (she was almost raped and murdered) and Ellie treated him like he was a pariah for the last two years of his life (after she found out the truth). And she doesn't even know that Joel killed Marlene (who was like her 'mom' and guardian angel) and Jerry (who was Abby's dad and the doctor hoping to use her to find a cure). Ellie would never try and avenge Joel's death. Abby could sail the seven seas in search of revenge, leaving bloody corpses in her wake. Meanwhile, Ellie can't even get her revenge driver's license. Lol. The LoU2 had a cheap and lazy revenge story. The best revenge stories are based on strong, well-defined vendettas. Ellie's revenge motives are contrived and paper thin.
Joel was murdered because the Last of Us world is a violent place and actions have consequences that come back to haunt you. Then we have the beach scene. Guess. Who's. Back. But it has an opposite end result. Ellie spares or shows mercy towards Abby for very little reason. Was it because she pitied Abby's withered appearance? Or was it because Lev reminded Ellie of Joel and herself? Or was it the second blip flashback that told her to stop? That ending was bizarre. The writers tried to use a biblical ending. Abby was crucified to suffer for her sins (in a way that wasn't connected/related to her 'crimes'). Then Ellie unbelievably turns the other cheek. Abby survives because of grace (and random coincidences). Thank the Prophet for her becoming friends with Lev, getting caught by the Rattlers and Ellie's PTSD-induced visions. Abby accidentally stumbles into Joel and easily tricks him into an impromptu ambush AND Ellie spares her life because she looks pathetic, reminds her of her relationship with Joel and a sudden bipolar vision told her to _STOP!!!_ She is extremely lucky! Does anything like that sound like the Last of Us universe? David was hacked to pieces for far less. Lol. The ending was logically inconsistent with the story, its themes and premise. If there are no heroes or villains and everything is morally gray, then Abby should be crab bait ;) This isn't a world of miraculous forgiveness.
Ellie made a HUGE commitment to perpetuate the cycle of violence by leaving her bucolic farm life, abandoning Dina and J.J. in the zombie wastelands, traveling 1,044 miles to Santa Barbara to kill even more people (unrelated to Joel's death) and kill Abby. Ellie was a psychopathic monster. She threatened Lev's life to force Abby to fight to the death. Ellie slashed Abby with her switchblade multiple times, stabbed her and was drowning her. Abby bit off two of her fingers. People don't believe that Ellie would forgive or show mercy to Abby because she experienced a blip flashback. No way. It's unrealistic and unbelievable. _Just Because_ is a horrible ending. Few people believed that Ellie would abandon her family (if she stayed, then that would've been the real end to the cycle of violence). IF she was crazy enough to actually leave them, THEN she sure as hell would be crazy enough to kill Abby.
Ellie abandoned Dina and J.J. in the middle of a zombie/human dystopian wasteland
      - Dina and Ellie decided to live on a farm somewhere outside of Jackson, which was poorly protected from infected and hunters. Jackson was an ideal place to raise a child, but they (stupidly) chose against it. Since they made a home in such a high risk area, it was extremely important that both parents stay and protect the homestead and family. Ellie didn't care and leaves them to fend for themselves, which is kind of like a death sentence. _Screw you, Dina and J.J., your survival and happiness ain't my problem. Who do you think I am? Your partner or parent? Pshhhhh... Good luck everyone._ That's totally unbelievable.
      - Ellie was suffering PTSD. She experienced panic attacks, nightmares and insomnia. The game didn't portray her as a physical threat to the safety of Dina and J.J. Sure, Ellie had her emotional breakdown moments, but we never saw Ellie argue violently with Dina, hit or abuse anyone. It's quite the opposite. Dina was a loving, caring and understanding partner who did everything humanly possible to support Ellie and help her cope with her problems. Ellie didn't show any behavior that screamed, "Guys, I must leave you because I'm more of a danger and a risk to this family!" Ellie just got up, said I'm leaving for revenge because I can't cope. And that was it.
      - Ellie was suffering from PTSD due to Joel's violent death... and she thinks that killing more people and Abby is going to fix her emotional and psychological problems. That doesn't make any sense. Ellie was going through emotional hell... and she decided to fix it... by going back to hell. That's completely asinine. Ellie got her 10lbs of flesh from Abby. She and Tommy killed all of her friends, companions and loved ones. Ellie wouldn't trade her happy family life with a beautiful, adorable baby boy on a sunny, idyllic farm for a risky second revenge quest.
      - Ellie lost her parents when she was just a baby. Everyone she ever loved or cared for either left her or died. Ellie would never abandon, desert or ditch Dina (who stayed by her side, like a rock, through thick and thin), let alone a beautiful baby boy. When you raise a child, it forms a strong, inseparable bond based on love and devotion. Ellie could NEVER walk away from them.
      - Abby was in Santa Barbara, which was over 1,000 miles away from Jackson. It would take about two months on horseback to ride there. Ellie couldn't just leave the farm and conveniently seek revenge against Abby. She was FAR away. Ellie would have to travel 1,000 miles through the dangers of the zombie and human wastelands, which was extremely risky AND Abby may not be there, might be long gone or even dead. She would never leave because the revenge quest would be far too difficult and she'd have to be away from her FAMILY for at least fourth months or never come back if she was killed. Dina and J.J. could easily be killed by marauders or zombies. Yeah, she wouldn't leave.
Ellie's second revenge quest is VERY unrealistic and unbelievable.
Ellie had a tsunami of narrative momentum to Kill Abby and a momentary flashback stopped her not-so-dead in her tracks (pun intended!). Even worse, the flashback was at a point _before_ Joel's death. She had that memory for the entire period of her revenge quest. Clearly, the moment was very critical and she would no doubt think about it (especially during the long trip from Jackson-Seattle, then Seattle-Jackson, one year on the farm, and finally Jackson-Santa Barbara). Damn, Ellie's emotional processing is ridiculously slow... and destructive

@@sunnysied713 Too bad you find the story a problem. Most people will react differently to the story. I think it's a well written story that is not only a masterpiece in this game but also other things like graphics, animations, music, mood, etc. Maybe you did not understand what Naughty Dog wanted to convey with this game and thought most of it was a mess. It's okay if you think so. But even if you did not like the story, the game is still a masterpiece.

@@foacle9167 I understand what Naughty Dog was trying to do, but the execution was very sloppy. Why do you think it's believable and realistic that Ellie would go on her first revenge trip to Seattle? Why do you think that it's believable and realistic that she'd go on a second revenge trip to Santa Barbara? Why do you think it's believable and realistic that she'd pardon/show mercy/spare Abby's life at the Pillars? I already saw Girlfriend Review's video on the LoU2 and she is absolutely horrible at analyzing plot, themes, characterization and execution.
The LoU2 had amazing production value, but it wasn't a masterpiece in all other categories. For example, it didn't deserve Best Score and Music. Why? The score consisted of a minimalistic set of eclectic instruments, dissonance and resonance. It wasn't a very complicated musical score. It was mood music that consisted mostly of ambient noise. That's hardly a soundtrack. It sounds more like music you can fall asleep to before bed. Background noise. That's not a masterpiece. Each track was more like a *sound study* and not really a musical piece. There were other games with a much better musical score. Ambient noise and mood music does not make it a masterpiece.
The gameplay of LoU2 is very lightweight, minimalistic and there isn't much actual gameplay. In LoU2, we spent most of our time in cut scenes (10 hours!), transition animations (so many hidden loading screens), walking, talking, reading text (so many notes!), gathering supplies (so many drawers!), crafting, searching for upgrades/collectibles and sightseeing (look at the pixels!). We spent 70% of our time with busy work and the rest is actual gameplay (average combat and super-easy puzzles). The LoU2 was more like an interactive HBO series than a cinematic videogame.

@@sunnysied713 The world in these games goes from being a modern civilized world to becoming an even more fragmented and unjust world. The first Last of Us is mostly about a broken man who tries to find hope and strength after the loss of his daughter. His hope and strength in this game will be Ellie. Ellie gives him a life he lost and he gives her a life she lost. He can not imagine a life without her at the end of the first game and then decides to kill a lot of people to save her.
Ellie will not want to live without him either, he becomes her father and is a big reason why she embarks on this journey of revenge. She hopes that when she takes her revenge she manages to get something back from it. Ellie can not imagine a life without him. Even though Ellie was very disappointed and sad about what Joel did that night in the hospital, it does not matter in the situation where she is most in wanting to take revenge. That's realistic. When you are angry and eager, you do not think of the whole in everything, but you think of now, you are angry, lost and eager.
Ellie can not move on in life but is constantly thinking about what Abby did to Joel. Which in the end is about Ellie having to forgive herself for everything she's said and done. She has to forgive herself for him being gone, she has to forgive him for doing what he did and she also has to forgive Abby and understand why she did what she did. Which she does the second before she drowns Abby. Now that she has forgiven it and accepted it, she can move on. The world in The Last of Us is unfair and things are constantly happening, people are dying, people are splitting up, people want revenge ...
The music also becomes a masterpiece in these games because it is set in perfect times and helps to create The Last of Us. If it were not for the music, Last of Us would not have been the same. The music helps to build hope in times where everything feels lost. The music puts excitement on occasions where everything is lost ...
Gameplay feels like a big upgrade from the first game. The Combat system is awesome and the different things you can do with the character along with the animations, the gadgets you can create. I personally think that the gameplay is meant to feel more like an interactive movie / series. I do not think it is meant to feel like a video game.
All these well-made things in the game work together and make it a masterpiece. It's okay not to like this game, just like it is with any other game. Some people do not like this game because they have a hard time understanding the choices made in the world of Last of Us. Some people do not like this game because it was too different from the first one. It's okay to have an opinion. I first thought the game was a masterpiece when I finished it and I still think so.

I wanted to kill Abby so much, then I went full angry whey and Had to play as her ahaha, but then I really liked her and then hated her when having to beat Ellie, oh maaaaaannnnn, what a ride, what a ride!!! when I played the second time (Now on my 6th playthrough lol) made me get a lot more into perspective. The final fight destroyed me because although all of it, I was still leaning more to Ellie, but I just didnt wanna hurt Abby, that final fight I did in tears, just thinking, dont do it Ellie, dont do it please! I don't see the point in getting angry over GOTY there's a voting jury who ultimately makes the call on who wins, not the players so it's hardly an accurate representation of what actual players think. Ghost of Tsushima won the players voice which is 100% of the players choice for the best game with 0 outside influence so I'm not bothered. The people who are still railing on this game seriously need to stop and shut up the majority of us made our deduction thought it was ok to not good and moved on.

@@lukefitton7329 let me tell you why the game won game direction.
      1) It was one of those games that added incredible amount of detail to every setting.
      2) the game mechanics are so good and extremely detailed it's only rivaled by RDR 2. Think about the rope physics or weapon upgrades.
      3) The mo-cap technology they used were outstanding. I have never seen a game where the characters in the game can be mistaken for real life people.
      4) It's story direction was quite unique, make you play as a character who you hated at first but eventually make you like her. I know this doesn't apply to us all but this was an achievement on its own.
      5) Accessibility options in this game is mind-blowing. No game has even come close to this.
      6) multiple difficulty settings.
When you consider what this game did that most other games do not, it is not surprising it won the awards for Direction.

Funny thing is: I didn't find the first game to be all that special.
(Long read ahead, you've been warned)
Doesn't mean that I thought it was bad game, just that, the amount of people calling it a masterpiece and the greatest video-game ever made seemed a tad bit ridiculous, and I personally believed it to be a massive overinflation of the quality of an otherwise good-at-best game. The characters were good, the performances were great, and the overall story was solid and decently paced, but the gameplay and crafting I found to be... very lacking, to say the least, not to mention the AI of the enemies, which were quite frankly terrible and clearly needed a lot more polish, even for the time.
I'm one of those guys who thinks that, in a video-game, the gameplay should always be the main priority, reason as to why I found Part I of The Last of Us a very decent game, and only that at most...
...Though, when the trailer for Part II dropped back in 2016, and I saw Ellie playing that guitar amidst the blood and fresh corpses of what we thought at the time to be the remaining fireflies, I couldn't help myself but wonder what had brought her to such situation, and naturally I became curious as to what the second entry in the franchise was going to do with its narrative, and how it would meet the fans' expectations after the nigh-impossibly high rated first game. Same thing happened with the second trailer in 2017, which featured Abby (Whom at the moment of its release, a lot of us presumed she would end up being Ellie's mother, and that she was running away from a cult, dear Lord Almighty, how wrong we were). And again, the same happened with the third trailer that was released during E3 2018. The night in which I watched that trailer, I still remember vividly: The mountainous regions of central México are quite an altitude above the sea, so it gets cold as a stone when it rains, but that night, it was hailing. I had just finished studying for finals, so I decided that I would spend the final hours of the night tucked and covered in bed against the cold, watching the remaining announcements of E3. And there he was, Gustavo Santaolalla, the genius behind the TLOU soundtrack as well as other renowned movies, playing the beautiful Banjo. I don't know why, but from that moment, I knew the presentation was going to be good. The trailer featured a much more dynamic, fluid and cinematic gameplay, that looked like a lot of fun and featured different approaches in combat, and even though it didn't seem to be that different from the first one, it was clear that ND had put some effort into upgrading the gameplay, and having recently played Uncharted 4, I got excited for the first time about a Naughty Dog game. I had expectations for it to be a GOOD game.
Fast forward to July of this year 2020, the leaks come out, the internet is on fire and Naughty Dog is acting desperately to take down all content related to TLOU II, and with good reason. I could not contain my curiosity and saw the leaks, man, I was, to put it simply, baffled, how the heck could they do this to their own beloved characters? Joel, beaten to death like a dog and Ellie defeated in combat by the same woman who murdered him. Wow. I lost interest. I wasn't going to play that garbage, the trailers were too good to live up to expectations.
But two weeks ago, after I had already forgotten about all the drama, I decided. "Screw it, let's give it a try", since I had nothing else important to do honestly.
It took me approximately three days to beat the game. When the credits rolled on my screen and "Wayfaring Stranger" started playing, I stood there, cold, open-mouthed in awe of what I had just experienced. It was almost sunrise, yet I craved no sleep, and I didn't know how to feel about myself.
This goddamn game made me feel things no other had. I wanted Ellie to have her revenge, but I also wanted Abby to survive and protect Lev. I couldn't watch when Abby nearly killed Ellie with her bare-hands, but I also understood her reasons behind all of it. I was angry at Ellie for leaving Tommy to die, but I also felt happy for her when I saw her in that farm with Dina. I hated Abby for torturing Joel, yet I understood the pain of her loss. They got me to care about every character as if I knew them myself. And I wanted to protect them. But I also felt conflicted and I didn't know who I ultimately sided with, and even two weeks later, I'm still not sure if I do.
The last song still gives me nightmares. I seriously want to believe that Ellie got a somewhat happy ending and went back to Jackson, but who knows. I'm glad Abby made it to Catalina island with Lev, the research for the cure will probably proceed there. (Here's hoping for Part III).
TL;DR: I waited three and a half years for this game in hopes of it being GOOD, but it was more than that, it was EXCELLENT, a testament of the capacity of storytelling in gaming and a well-deserved GAME OF THE YEAR. Having played the sequel, I see the first game in a different light, and I'm fairly sure I will enjoy it more than I did the first time, and I'll eventually return to it. Who would've thought it would take me 7 years to truly appreciate linear story-telling in gaming, and it's all thanks to The Last of Us Part II.
    Peace.

Congrats to Naughty Dog for this win!
Now, I've noticed a little mistake in this video. You said that the awards that were given out on December 10th were solely voted by the players, which is not correct. The winners at TGA are determined by a blended vote between the voting jury, which is accounted for 90% and players, whos votes are accounted for 10%.
The only gaming awards that are solely voted for by players are The Golden Joystick Awards, where TLOUP2 was also showered with awards.

I received Part II for Christmas and finished it a few days ago. I went in fully aware of both the praise and the condemnation. Personally, I don’t believe either of those two extremes are fair. Part II is a masterpiece in regards to performance, score, and accessibility, but for me, the story, plot, and character development was a dud. It was all far too lackluster.
The game failed to make me care about Abby, Lev, and the rest of the Seattle characters like I care about the Jackson characters, or the characters from the original game. If some key elements of the narrative had been different, perhaps I would have had a more emotional play through.
I see so many people talking about the emotional impact Part II had on them, and while I’m glad they enjoyed their experience, I sometimes wonder if we played the same game. I truly understand what Naughty Dog was going for, and I respect the risk they took, but I don’t think this is the type of risk you take with a title like TLOU.
Honestly though, Part II feels like the middle to a beginning and an ending, so I hope one day soon Part III is announced 🤞🏻

In my view, an artist should never compromise their vision for money or to pander to any audience expectations. The best environment we could ever hope to inhabit is a place where a creator feels free to tell the story they feel passionate about, without compromise and without holding back. As an audience, player, experiencer, you like what you like and you don't like what you don't like. At the end of the day, some art will resonate with you and some won't. This is the way things have always been and the way they should always be.

@@WolfofThorns In short, I agree! One of the reasons I love and respect Naughty Dog is because they don’t pander to the player or their audience. The hatred they’ve received due to that is astronomical. Artists should have free rein to tell the stories they want to tell. No matter if it is or isn’t what the fans want to see or play.
