I gotta say, the timing of the responses in this hunt are sorta impressive. Whether it was Shane fighting a ghost whilst having a near conversation, or the light responding instantly when talking to Jane Addams, this house felt much more alive and almost intelligent compared to the others
i think that this one of their most succesful spirit box sessions, bc it almost feels like there's two entities talking over each other. One is scared, repeatedly asking who's there, who are they, even telling them to go (warning them?) while the other is much more aggresive.
yeah, one was really challenging and meeting shanes energy. honestly, a ghost bouncing off shanes questions/jokes and coming back at him with the same vibe is actually pretty compelling as the more they spoke, the more aggressive the answers got. really makes for good evidence as its not stiff constant answers its almost built up the more shane took the piss out of the ghoul. especially with the whole fight thing.
Ryan crying like a baby gave me vivid flashbacks to him and Shane dressed as cats meowing on the staircase in bfu again. Truly our boys have the range any actor would kill for.
Also remember in the unsolved last season when they went to a place which is said to have a nurse who tucks you into bed, so they started making baby noises while lying on that bed, asking for that nurse to tuck them?
23:13 the baby’s literally saying Ryan should wear a dress and sneak em in during night while Shane distracts god with a shove, that’s- oh that’s beautiful
@@TheAnthonyG. i agree, maybe not in the episodes bc they already cut things out but maybe as like a little side thing during the debrief or on the patreon
When Shane was fighting the ghost and getting a response saying "missed" and "back", I'm just imagining the ghost's reaction while standing right behind Shane who's throwing blind punches.
I thought the same. As the “fire” and “turn” that was a clear message. This one when it said “back” I was paying attention to the background to see if there was something in the back
Some of the spirit box sessions Seth Borden, as well as Sam and Colby, have had are also pretty comprehensive. Check them out if you haven't already. Seth's video on the Trans Allegheny Asylum is pretty neat for EVPs.
Every single response to Shane fighting the ghost was realistic lmao. Told him to hit him, said he missed, asked him if he was scared, saying “bring it” “fight”, etc
@@TheAnthonyG. They do it that way so instead of both of them sitting there trying to figure out what the voice is saying without headphones to hear it clearly, they can actually just sit there and ask questions while someone uses headphones to more clearly hear beyond all the static and just they can just randomly spout out what they hear. It would help if they had a way to record the headphone audio though
to be fair, I used to do that because my 24/7 migraine (at the time) was so bad I couldn't handle both light AND the noise of the shower. I still do it sometimes when I feel really overwhelmed or overstimulated or my brain is doing a migraine. of all the things Shane has admitted to doing, either as an adult or as a child, I don't think this is a particularly weird one
Shane fighting the ghost feels like a genuine interaction between two Chicago natives. It's strangely compelling and it was fucking hilarious to witness, especially paired with Ryan confusion when Shane tried to explain what the fuck had just gone down.
shane is the PERFECT kind of guy you want at the other side of your estes method. he isnt all like “hey ghost where are you, do something now to prove youre real” he just, improvs. he actually interacts with the ghosts like people, as if theyre really there. he’s doing a great job using his acting skills and its the perfect conductor to hear the ghost or spirit or whichever react on the other side. its bloody brilliant.

I love that the spirit box was telling Shane to hide threatened him, but when he said okay to fighting back the spirit was like 'Oh shit he's actually gonna do it...Nvm bro."
To me it sounded like it said "hi", Shane misheard it as "hide" but the ghost corrected him, repeating "hi". Which is honestly really compelling to me.
I know this is all for fun, but my biggest pet peeve is how they try to recreate the evidence photos sent in by fans, in the exact same place, and almost kinda expect the shape or image to reappear in their version. The likelihood of that happening is less than zero.
Ryan has explained before that he does wait for responses but they have to cut out the silence for time. cuz majority of the time they don’t get responses
@@bidishahit’s also to see if the apparent apparition might be a smudge or light reflection from the position the photo is taken. it’s actually good evidence for skeptics if the photo can be recreated and it’s good evidence for believers if it can’t be.
Despite the funny bit with fighting the ghost, I'm really impressed with that Spirit Box session. From what I've seen, it's usually random words, but this time it was nearly all fighting words or responses to Shane wanting to fight. And since Ryan had no clue Shane was doing all that... I wonder... 👻
I want Shane to have his own scientific tools to use, like a windsock, a decibel meter, an infrared camera, an air quality meter, a Geiger counter, stuff like that. With how yall talk about ghost farts and wind and annoying noises it'd be fun to see Shane have his own weapons
@ same! I had to rewatch that part a couple times and even though we know it was Shane, I still kinda can’t wrap my head around it because it was just way too spot on
Even though I don't believe in ghosts in the slightest this is the only ghost hunting show that has slightly conviced me they might be real because of those spirit box sessions and all the evidence they get and show. Then again the sceptic in me is saying that Ryan just isnt wearing noise cancelling headphones and can just hear everything Shane is saying, and all the spirit box shit is just edited and fake but, its still entertaining even if that is true.
@Stevean2 Pretty easily actually. Was this a legit question or? The spirit box is literally just an FM/AM Radio constantly switching channels until its white noise, and when a "spirit" interacts with it some of the words and phrases of the radio leak through. You could just edit the phrases to leak through at times where Ryan or Shane ask a question. With the headphone spirit box sessions Ryan could literally just not be wearing noise cancelling headphones like I said, which would mean he would be able to hear Shane and just respond with what seemed appropriate to get a cool interaction with a "spirit" Also, you don't seriously think ghosts are real do you? These shows are for sure entertaining but taking them for reality would take quite the believer!
His enthusiasm in THIS series makes me (jokingly) wonder if buzz feed had him at gunpoint being like “now do the fucking head shake” when Ryan says “…to answer the question, are ghosts real?”
@@uglysongsforuglysoulswell yeah he might just be more "relaxed" because they're doing their own thing now? also his and ryan's friendship has deepened and i feel like he just really wants to see ryan happy/his beliefs be confirmed more than at the beginning and it shows, like he clearly cares more about ryan than about his own scepticism, and i mean he's having fun with his friend. i don't think he's taking any of the ghost stuff more "seriously" per se though 😂
You know what would be a wild ass event for this series? IMAGINE IF Shane and Ryan getting an "apple tater" and "spaghetti" on the Spirit Box. I would lose my mind
I like to think ghosts talk to each other across the spiritual plane somehow and they talk about the ghoul boys lol. So Imagine the ghosts using the box to say “we’ve heard a lot you guys. I’ve been informed that you’re a bitch. Nice show you got tho, apparently.” Or something lmao. I’d love to see Shane try and explain that away 😂
I love how every single ghost interaction that someone shares with them is only realized after the fact. Either listening back to a recording or looking at the photos you took. Nobody can seem to catch these interactions live. Except Mr. Hall who caught hands from Shane of course
Thank you for pointing this out. I thought I was the only one who noticed. It seems to me that if most of the proof for ghosts (such as floating orbs or figures in windows) are only noticed on camera after the fact and not noticed by any of the people actually there, then chances are it's nothing more than just a smudge on the lens/window, a trick of the light, dust etc.
Rewatching Shane and Ryan's banter about the Devil Baby, I remembered reading a book on Icelandic ghost folklore, and there they had had legends about babies who were left to die in the plains (when centuries ago abortions were not allowed but the mother didn't want the child). And the legend is, people would see these ghost babies, but at that time in Iceland it was believed that ghosts looked pretty much like the living, except for they wore red clothes and these babies would crawl with only one side of their bodies functioning (like using only right leg and right hand, for example). I still have this vivid image in my head of these creepy crawling babies.
I love how the "nighttime, dress, wear, Dan" thing could have easily been about a baby wearing a nightgown but they made it into a DJ named nighttime Dan
shane beating the shit out of the ghost was genuinely so compelling that i am not convinced that they’re not bullshitting us. like that was an intelligent conversation
I think it's good for new viewers. You never know if it's going to be somebody's first video of theirs. For example, I took a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong long long long break from watching their videos. I kind of just forgot about them. I started watching their newer videos again yesterday, and they got some new equipment from last time I watched them. So the explanation was helpful.
I'm actually a UIC student and have been to the house a few times. I am generally a skeptic but there was something in that house that just pulls at your core. Especially the stairs to the 3rd floor. It's generally blocked off to visitors but the energy that yearns for you to come up is something that I'll always remember. Jane herself was a wonderful person, though. There's lots of honor to her name at the university!
Ryan has come so far. It seems like just yesterday that the flashlight turning on in the Sally house almost made him faint, now he’s talking to a devil baby like it’s nothing! That’s what we call character development!
During the spirit box session with the honeytone at 17:18 I hear "Whos your friend". Ryan has his last name Bergara on his jacket so it's possible the spirit was reading that out loud when it said his name, then asked who Shane was.
for the debrief: whatever dark energy was in that house was really toying with you in a personal way. it knew ryan’s fear of sally, it wasn’t shocked by (and kind of mocked) shane’s methods, then straight up threatened him. it was interactive in a way other spirits haven’t been. do encounters like this put you especially on edge?

i think that this one of their most succesful spirit box sessions, bc it almost feels like there's two entities talking over each other. One is scared, repeatedly asking who's there, who are they, even telling them to go (warning them?) while the other is much more aggresive.
the shane and ryan of the ghost world
yeah, one was really challenging and meeting shanes energy. honestly, a ghost bouncing off shanes questions/jokes and coming back at him with the same vibe is actually pretty compelling as the more they spoke, the more aggressive the answers got. really makes for good evidence as its not stiff constant answers its almost built up the more shane took the piss out of the ghoul. especially with the whole fight thing.

It would help if they had a way to record the headphone audio though
Shane saying he used to shower in the dark explains everything
Absolute psychopath behavior
to be fair, I used to do that because my 24/7 migraine (at the time) was so bad I couldn't handle both light AND the noise of the shower.

They're not so bad if it's somewhere you're familiar with (your own home) 😂 You know where everything is even in the dark

The initial baby noises Shane was making through the hidden radio were honestly so impressive? Shit sounded like real baby noises.

Does nobody remember when they found out Ryan and Shane could do eerily accurate baby cries on Unsolved?

I love that the spirit box was telling Shane to hide threatened him, but when he said okay to fighting back the spirit was like 'Oh shit he's actually gonna do it...Nvm bro."
I love it said “Scared” and Shane said, “I know you’re scared!” That man isn’t afraid of anything 🤣
To me it sounded like it said "hi", Shane misheard it as "hide" but the ghost corrected him, repeating "hi". Which is honestly really compelling to me.
The only pet peeve I have with this show is that sometimes Ryan will ask like 3 questions quickly to the ghosts instead of slowly asking each one.
Was just thinking that too
I know this is all for fun, but my biggest pet peeve is how they try to recreate the evidence photos sent in by fans, in the exact same place, and almost kinda expect the shape or image to reappear in their version. The likelihood of that happening is less than zero.
Ryan has explained before that he does wait for responses but they have to cut out the silence for time. cuz majority of the time they don’t get responses
@@bidishahit’s also to see if the apparent apparition might be a smudge or light reflection from the position the photo is taken. it’s actually good evidence for skeptics if the photo can be recreated and it’s good evidence for believers if it can’t be.

ryan unaware that shane is currently squaring off with a fucking ghost is the funniest thing
Despite the funny bit with fighting the ghost, I'm really impressed with that Spirit Box session. The noise cancelling spirit box sessions are without a doubt the best parts of this show.

Ryan has come so far. It seems like just yesterday that the flashlight turning on in the Sally house almost made him faint, now he’s talking to a devil baby like it’s nothing! That’s what we call character development!
I feel like he's less afraid because after everything nothing bad has happened in those houses. It's like exposure therapy.
During the spirit box session with the honeytone at 17:18 I hear "Whos your friend". Ryan has his last name Bergara on his jacket so it's possible the spirit was reading that out loud when it said his name, then asked who Shane was.
