@@grimmick9446 Yes. This is also why its important not to jump to ghosts as an explanation for strange occurrences. Yeah, usually ghosts are just the house settling or an animal, but sometimes they're actually deadly gas leaks.
As a native upstate New Yorker I can confirm these types of houses out in the middle of nowhere are actually horrifying. They're also more common than people think.
@@Greyseabee got lost in the bine barrens as a child while camping, it was absolutely terrifying. Also, another upstate NY person myself, can confirm there are houses like this all over but they don't all have the same energy. I helped my friend do some roofing down in Hudson NY, beautiful old house. Owner was gone, house is empty except for us outside and the only area we had access to was the back porch. We all saw someone inside multiple times, we called the owner and he confirmed nobody was in the house, the electric and everything had been shut off, we had to have our own sources of power.
There are like 5 houses right on same the road as this one that are just as creepy. I never had a weird experience at the haunted house, but absolutely had a weird one at the house down the road.
For #debrief Shane: would you ever want to bring your own tools and methods to an investigation site? For example, many "hauntings" could be gas leaks, animals, or other natural causes. Instead of just bullying Ryan (as fun as that must be), you could also conduct your own investigation into other causes.
@HotStrange That's not how it works tho 😂. Just because you can't prove something isn't a ghost doesn't mean it's any more likely that it IS a ghost. A lack of evidence of one thing is not evidence for something else.

Damn. The abject terror in Ryan's face when he started getting timely responses from the maglite and REM pod. He legit looked like he was about to cry.
If anyone can pull off a "Deer Files" show and make it super entertaining, that's Ryan and Shane. Also, Shane saying he's surprised Ryan's parents didn't leave him in the firestation was hilarious
God the little details in the 3d rendering of the scenes are just incredible. The Professor toasting a marshmellow in his little campfire back there and Ryan's R circle shaking with fear, dropping the flashlight while Shane's S circle just shakes his head at him. I also love how you can see the car approaching, slowing down to a stop, before we zoom in on the building and the blueprint view then pan out again to see the car parked and now the R & S circles are there; the boys have arrived on scene. (also I'm not a car expert but I'm pretty sure that's a classic muscle car, which makes it even better) The Ghost Files crew fucking rock.
For #debrief - if you've got dead animals in a an old ass house, including a literal CANARY which is used to tell people when the air is not safe to breathe, it seems really clear that this is a gas leak or carbon monoxide leak or something chemical like that causing hallucinations and paranoia.
I’ve noticed that some of these houses tend to have “mystery wet spots” in their basements. I was waiting for the house plan to reveal there was a basement and when they did it was a real called it moment
When will they realize that Shane naturally scares off any ghosts or demons without even trying? 😂 The Goatman has yet to show his face after Shane danced upon his bridge.
the energy Shane and Ryan have in this one is so refreshing - it seemed like they genuinely enjoyed themselves this trip as opposed to just doing the job
For debrief: Shane, which location has given you the worst vibe? Not because of ghosts, but overall history. Ryan, what kind of equipment/toys would you like to have for future investigations?
if seeing a puppet is the highlight of your year, either that year REALLY sucked, or you’re a little puppet manipulator (i forgot what a ventriloquist was for a second and that description is WAY funnier)
Before I started watching these guys years ago, I wholeheartedly believed in ghosts. And as much as I want to believe and want Ryan to find evidence, this show (because they are so genuine and don’t fabricate evidence like EVERY other show/channel) has single-handedly made me very very skeptical that ghosts are real.
I hear ya. I've been skeptical from the get go, but i very much wish there were such things as ghosts. It would be incredibly relieving to think that there is life after death and that lost loved ones aren't actually lost forever. But when i watch everything with a critical eye it just becomes impossible to believe.
If this was my only source of not believing I wouldn't buy it. Shane does everything to fumble each and every investigation because he doesn't allow anything to happen aka he's not serious and when he goes alone all he does is talk talk talk talk talk.
Technically their not to show themselves to us and were not supposed to seek them out. God's rule basically That's why when you give them permission or accidentally open a door from a phantom knock they gain full access
I love how accurately the symbols of Ryan and Shane were animated at 4:19 , as Ryan trembles due to fear, drops his flashlight, and Shane is like "Meh." 🤣
After I stepped away from all of the big ghost hunting TV shows, this was one of a small number of shows still recommended by skeptics and I’m hooked. I love the humor and the believer skeptic combo. Some people that are all in on ghosts might see it as disrespectful, but if I snuff it and I’m stuck hanging around some house for eternity, a bit of levity would be like water in the desert.
i feel like his answer would be that he’s just as scared as he was in the beginning but he’s grown more comfortable in those environments or in that fear
It would hurt my ghost feelings so bad if I were minding my own damn business having a one person (or spirit) dance party and someone described me as bug-eyed and looking like I hanged myself
If I were the ghost in question and heard them say that, I'd try to just say in whatever way I could, 'You right.' Then keep wigglin' with my bad, bug-eyed self.
You know how voice text on your phone messes things up all the time? What if there are ghosts on the other side yelling at the spirit box for showing the wrong words lol
I always think of that with the Ovilus. Surely if this is their first time interacting with one, they'd need some time to figure out how to make the right words

I'm proud of Ryan for coming such a long way. Being alone in the house and asking the ghosts to hit him! Also Shane had the biggest character development I;ve ever seen - him getting a bit of a shookt from the ovilus 😂It really gives us an honest glimpse into how Shane would react if an actual ghost was on his tail lol
Yeah, honestly I think Ryan doesn't fully believe in ghosts anymore since they've done this series (nor do I believe in them lol). He has either become completely desensitized to the idea that he may be interacting with a ghost or just doesn't believe in them as strongly as he did when they started with buzzfeed. I mean, that ouija board session is pretty telling, too. In most ghost hunting shows that board would've been spelling all sorts of things, but, as always, the Ghoul Boys give you the real life experience and don't fake anything or exaggerate the reality of the situation. Having a complete skeptic in Shane on their show is something that every ghost channel should have. It's good to have at least one reality-grounded people on your team, but many are just full of people who will think ghosts cause every little creak and crack of a old-ass building somewhere. That's why Ryan and Shane are the best in the game, imo.
Ryan: "I'm going to prove ghosts exist. Let's catch some evidence baby!!" Also Ryan when really compelling evidence is caught: "That was the worst thing that's ever happened to me in my entire life."
11:34 Just a thought: if the lady was hanged and that’s the reason her eyes are bulging, it’s likely she isn’t actually dancing…but those are just leg spasms that occurred as she was dying 😅
I love how when Ryan introduces a new ghost device he's like this is the flirb machine and it interprets ghost giggles as heat images and I'm like hell yeah!! it does do that!!
It absolutely isn't a ghost files episode without Ryan triggering the ghosts with his screaming and Shane treating an abandoned house like a nature retreat

@@bartsquared1398 There are bunches of places with lots of ghosts. Like the haunted mansion in Disney Land, and a bunch of these strange houses during halloween. And of course the most haunted place of all, the sheet section of Bed Bath and Beyond.
Watching the part where Shane is screaming at the ghosts to “squish Ryan’s head” makes me really wish we had camera angles of the crew trying not to laugh/make noise 😂
only ghost files will have a segment where a ghost hunter is challenged to scream as loudly as possible to mimic a haunted house, and then immediately after have that same ghost hunter stare at himself in the mirror WHILE arguing with himself. this has truly been another season of ghosthunting perfection i think
The animation of Ryan's circle dropping the flash light is so good!! Those were some of the best solos. I love how the toys react for Ryan and not for shane.
For #debrief do you guys ever use a carbon monoxide detector while on location? A lot of the testimonies of previous residents sound like carbon monoxide poisoning related hallucinations.

You know, the fact that 3 pets died within rapid succession just makes me think there was a gas buildup or something, not that the house is haunted.
That's a great point actually
Carbon monoxide or other gas buildup would explain ghost sightings and hallucinations too
@@elodee3 I always forget that alot of cases of haunts from the early 90s were CO leaks and chemical buildups. I guess it's such a silent killer we don't even think about it. That's incredibly sad if true tho :( at that point the ghosts sound easier to cope with than a CO leak that you didn't know about
@@grimmick9446 Yes. This is also why its important not to jump to ghosts as an explanation for strange occurrences. Yeah, usually ghosts are just the house settling or an animal, but sometimes they're actually deadly gas leaks.
I would 1000% be compelled by a show where Ryan and Shane go look at deer
Same 😂
Same
Yes I was going to say that! I would 100% watch deer files!! Atleast give us an attempt at an episode
Me too!!! I would love a nature doc voiced by them, their commentary is top notch, like when they found the little salamander Cedric!
Same, I love deer.
As a native upstate New Yorker I can confirm these types of houses out in the middle of nowhere are actually horrifying. They're also more common than people think.
And next to all those wooded areas too!
@@jimmywinter7961i remember getting lost in oneonta at around midnight with no gps signal it was the scariest drive ever lol
I mean most of New York State if not all is rural which is weird when its the biggest city in NA and thats pretty much all its known for
There are like 5 houses right on same the road as this one that are just as creepy. I never had a weird experience at the haunted house, but absolutely had a weird one at the house down the road.
39:16 "I'm surprised they didn't leave you at the fire station, man" 😂 that casual way he said it
I enjoy how often the boo buddy is only in episodes because of Shane telling it to shut up when he hears it go off in the distance 😂
I want a tee shirt that says “Shut Up Boo Buddy”
Ryan's talking to the mirror bit at 1:06:57 was cut together perfectly props to the editor

“She was either hanging or completely zooted.” I absolutely love the one liners from these boys
As the hair got longer, the sass got stronger. Proud of Ryan's growth as a ghost hunter.
I need a deer files or Nature Files where Ryan and Shane just go on a hike together pointing out the beauty of nature

and talk about bull frogs making sweet love
You seem to be expecting too much from the internet.
Make some friends and go for some walks.

Yesss one of my favorite Weird Wonderful Worlds is the birdwatching one. More in that genre please
For #debrief Shane: would you ever want to bring your own tools and methods to an investigation site? For example, many "hauntings" could be gas leaks, animals, or other natural causes. Instead of just bullying Ryan (as fun as that must be), you could also conduct your own investigation into other causes.
That would actually be cool. And then if Shane can’t prove it’s NOT a ghost it could lead to more compelling evidence.
@HotStrange That's not how it works tho 😂. Just because you can't prove something isn't a ghost doesn't mean it's any more likely that it IS a ghost. A lack of evidence of one thing is not evidence for something else.
@@jenk4545 ….i didn’t say that. I said that would make the other evidence more compelling. Not that it would prove there was a ghost. But go off I guess
@@HotStrange yeah they took it personally and wanted to sound smart lol i think op has a really good idea :)
@@HotStrange No need to get so defensive friend, I'm just pointing out that not being able to prove something isn't a ghost isn't evidence that it's something else. It doesn't make the ghost theory any more compelling.
3:26 I just noticed the professor puppet chilling by the campfire roasting marshmallows lol lovely little Easter egg
Damn. The abject terror in Ryan's face when he started getting timely responses from the maglite and REM pod. He legit looked like he was about to cry.
One of the best parts about the show.
If anyone can pull off a "Deer Files" show and make it super entertaining, that's Ryan and Shane. Also, Shane saying he's surprised Ryan's parents didn't leave him in the firestation was hilarious
Or like ‘critter files’, where they just go around and look at wildlife and ooh and aah at bugs and rockpools 😂
(also I'm not a car expert but I'm pretty sure that's a classic muscle car, which makes it even better)
The Ghost Files crew fucking rock.
The Professor being there is just so cute
Honestly, The Professor being at this house deepens the lore and convinces me more than anything that something is amok here 😂
Ryan referring to the Fisher-Price phone toy as a "Skinamarink" is the absolute best.
I think he was referencing the movie skinamarink, which has a Fisher price phone jumpscare towards the end of the movie
For #debrief - if you've got dead animals in a an old ass house, including a literal CANARY which is used to tell people when the air is not safe to breathe, it seems really clear that this is a gas leak or carbon monoxide leak or something chemical like that causing hallucinations and paranoia.
It could have been mold or the like as well. doesn't jsut have to be gas. And it is a very old house in a temperate climate.
love that you still call it postmortem
@@reynathemod3516 haha didn’t even notice
Especially with that basement it's very likely something toxic was/is going on and causing hallucinations.
I’ve noticed that some of these houses tend to have “mystery wet spots” in their basements. I was waiting for the house plan to reveal there was a basement and when they did it was a real called it moment
When will they realize that Shane naturally scares off any ghosts or demons without even trying? 😂
The Goatman has yet to show his face after Shane danced upon his bridge.
Goatman was forced back into his dirty demon barn
That’s cuz it’s Shane’s bridge now, not his.

Sceptics yawn
@@Kyxul oh come onnn, it was the most ghoul toy action we had this season
Before I started watching these guys years ago, I wholeheartedly believed in ghosts. And as much as I want to believe and want Ryan to find evidence, this show (because they are so genuine and don’t fabricate evidence like EVERY other show/channel) has single-handedly made me very very skeptical that ghosts are real.
That's what the ghosts WANT you to think 👀
I still believe because I've seen a few but I don't get scared during videos anymore because I just think of how silly they are lol
I hear ya. I've been skeptical from the get go, but i very much wish there were such things as ghosts. It would be incredibly relieving to think that there is life after death and that lost loved ones aren't actually lost forever. But when i watch everything with a critical eye it just becomes impossible to believe.
@@jpkjnn6733 I think it sounds more sad that you would get stuck haunting a Place after death instead of ceasing to exist
If this was my only source of not believing I wouldn't buy it. Shane does everything to fumble each and every investigation because he doesn't allow anything to happen aka he's not serious and when he goes alone all he does is talk talk talk talk talk.
Ryan needs to give us one demon investigation a season. The Ghoul Boys need to cover all them super natural bases.
I mean, you gotta fill the demon quota somehow. 😈😅
I love how all ghosts seem to only be able to peek out behind door frames, behind windows, or the edge of a tree, etc. 😅😊
Technically their not to show themselves to us and were not supposed to seek them out. God's rule basically
That's why when you give them permission or accidentally open a door from a phantom knock they gain full access
The “one knock for yes and two knocks for no” prompt is hysterical because if you hear two knocks…. There’s definitely something down there. 😂
We gotta love a sarcastic ghost.
I wanna be a ghost sooo bad just so I can pull this kind of bs on any paranormal investigators

I love how accurately the symbols of Ryan and Shane were animated at 4:19 , as Ryan trembles due to fear, drops his flashlight, and Shane is like "Meh." 🤣

@@whatisnot1926 looks like the professor to me
After I stepped away from all of the big ghost hunting TV shows, this was one of a small number of shows still recommended by skeptics and I’m hooked. I love the humor and the believer skeptic combo.
Some people that are all in on ghosts might see it as disrespectful, but if I snuff it and I’m stuck hanging around some house for eternity, a bit of levity would be like water in the desert.
I mean, noone is obligated to play along with people's fantasy. Ghosts aren't real
For the #Debrief : Ryan, has your belief in ghosts increased or decreased since becoming a paranormal investigator?
i feel like his answer would be that he’s just as scared as he was in the beginning but he’s grown more comfortable in those environments or in that fear
😂😂
Do you guys even watch the other episodes? This question has already been asked
bruh this is the millionth time this question has been asked
oh yeah, I wonder that too!
#debrief they need to see this sorry
normally im scared to watch ghost stuff alone in my room but with ryan and shane im fine because theyre just so comforting and funny
You know how voice text on your phone messes things up all the time? What if there are ghosts on the other side yelling at the spirit box for showing the wrong words lol
I always think of that with the Ovilus. Surely if this is their first time interacting with one, they'd need some time to figure out how to make the right words
For #debrief. Throughout your years of investigating, what place would you guys consider the “most haunted”? Has there been anything that made Shane question his skepticism? Similarly, have there been any places you guys have thought were complete BS?
Good questions but I doubt they'll answer
This question has already been asked a thousand times
@@bolobologneseNo need to be rude abt it, their opinions can change when they investigate more places. Theres literally no harm in asking anyways, they can choose what they answer.
If Shane got a nickel for every time a ghost called him daddy he'd get two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
One day Shane needs to take Ryan to a “haunted” house full of his own evidence and it just needs to be an elaborate prank house
This but reverse so we can see what it takes for Shane to be convinced
@@AmPanMannYou think the second things actually start happening (doors slamming etc.) his first reaction isn't going to be "I'm being set up?" Ryan's reaction would be much more entertaining (although also a lot more cruel).
I always imagine Shane and Ryan going on another ghost show and just debunking them as they walk around.
This. Especially with all the drama going on right now with some of them.
I watched another ghost show where they investigated the same exact place and they were doing the whole "whoa did you see that?!" and I was like nah, the Ghoul Boys debunked it.

Yes it's made the show much more lame with two people that don't believe in anything
Ryan: "I'm going to prove ghosts exist. Let's catch some evidence baby!!" Also Ryan when really compelling evidence is caught: "That was the worst thing that's ever happened to me in my entire life."
Also he asks the same questions cause he’s too afraid to keep going and then makes jokes like rub Shane’s nipples right as it was getting interesting
11:34 Just a thought: if the lady was hanged and that’s the reason her eyes are bulging, it’s likely she isn’t actually dancing…but those are just leg spasms that occurred as she was dying 😅
Wow your smart
My exact thought
Iswear to god Ryan had never been this unhinged. Seeing him talk to his reflection was both hilarious, terrifying and also sad.
For the debrief: Shane have you ever felt uneasy in any of these houses? Between paranormal and human threats?
He's mentioned some places have sketched him out. Not for like spooky reasons but for like tetanus reasons, like some of the prisons

10:48 is no one gonna talk about how there was briefly a stick figure showing up on the SLS? Just chilling on the ground?!? Perfect gnome height!
The animation of Ryan's circle dropping the flash light is so good!! Those were some of the best solos. Shane had me in tears with laughter when he told the boo buddy to shut up (which is wrong do not yell at the baby) and Ryan becoming the house was so good. I love how the toys react for Ryan and not for shane.
For #debrief do you guys ever use a carbon monoxide detector while on location? A lot of the testimonies of previous residents sound like carbon monoxide poisoning related hallucinations.
They really need one as all those animals dying in that one room...tiredness etc is definitely sounding like CO
Especially since it's such an old house they might have used coal or wood stoves which have a much higher risk for Carbon Monoxide leaks
Great idea to bring one
When they're basically doing a roll call of all the ghosts in the house, asking "if so and so is here can you turn the light off", I just have this image in my head of all the ghosts standing there together and snickering at Ryan and Shane as they wait for their name to be called.

I think it’d be really interesting to see the progression of time as you move throughout the house, you know? Like a little clock in the corner, that way you can see how much time is spent in each room and stuff without having to include long silences.
For the record, I would 10000% love to watch an episode of Deer Files. Wildlife Files? Animal Files! Just let Shane enjoy nature lol
