    Even 4500 is still too low for 936p. If you follow the Bits per pixel rule for 936p with a .1 bpp which is what you need, you'll need a bitrate of atleast 9400. That's why most streamers arent streaming 60fps anymore too. Because when you decrease stream framerate, you have more bitrate allocated to less pixels (48fps). And 48fps looks just as smooth as 60fps. 936p at 48fps you need a bitrate of atleast 7700 bitrate. Hope this helps!

      Huh? Am i missing something? In youre video you said 936 with 60 FPS. This comment you changed that? you said 4500 is even still too low and many dont stream at 60 FPS. Doesnt youre video say 4500 at 60 fps?

    • @MrRaja

      @@oldmangamerlive It'll get the job done. All i remember from way back is 1080 @ 60fps needs at least 6000 bitrate. and we are in 2022 most people have 100mbps internet. so it wont be any problem even for mobile internet.

      @@MrRaja 100 MBPS is download speed. When streaming, it is upload speed that's needed which on average is 10-20 MBPS depending on your ISP...

      Haven't seen a 30 fps streamer in a very long time. For slower games, 60 fps really makes no sense, especially if you don't have the hardware and internet headroom for it.

      @@Lobapixel Yes sir. Download is almost a gig. That's probably 98 percentile. 40 up is very good as well. Maybe you have some other issues with your internet connection besides average speed. Thanks for the vid and discussion.

  • @esaedvik

    You can literally test how much which bitrate is pushing out of your PC onto the internet, just open up your Task Manager or some similar network tool (Glasswire. etc).
    There's zero need for 20-40 Mbps internet if you use 6500 kbps bitrate for Twitch. Yes, headroom is nice, but that much, no. 6500 kbps (6.5 Mbps) is literally the "width" of the bitstream going out.
    And no, X264 is not going to "wear down" your CPU. If you have a beefy CPU, but a weaker GPU, you're better off using CPU encoding. The quality is slightly better too, that's why some streamers prefer it and get CPUs like a 5950x (which is def overkill, but if streaming pays for it and you can deduct it in taxes, so what).

    • @therookanga
      @therookanga 2 місяці тому +1

      In my experience: Sometimes the encoding isn't caught up to what you are producing, or sometimes it requires you to have more viewers concurrently. I noticed in the past that when a lot of people were checking in, my streams would be in 936p, but when I took a break or people were absent, the quality would drop to 720p. Twitch, as far as I've seen, does prioritize streams that have people conistently involved/watching, but if that's not the case for you then I do not know.

    @lobapixel I’ll be building my first dedicated streaming pc streaming on twitch with a c922 pro camera and capturing ps5 gameplay on hd60s* capture card. My resolution i play at on my gaming monitor and ps5 is 1440p 60/120fps, my question is should i use downscale feature on obs to 1080p 60fps or 720p 60 fps to get a crisp stream to my followers and at which bit rate? I will be plugged straight in using ethernet cord on both console and pc. I use fiber optics internet and on tester from both phone and console my download and upload are always 170-200mbps, on a bad day test so to speak, i have never saw below a 140mbps download 30mbps upload on console test reading and always 170 up and down on cell phone tester. Any insight to what resolution i should downscale to and what bit rate i should use would be appreciated. My build is ryzen 5 5600x cpu , gigabyte b550 aorus pro v2 motherboard, and rtx 3050gpu , 32gb 3200mhz ram/memory and 1tb samsung 980 pro PCIe 4.0x4 ssd storage. Look forward to your response and knowledge. Great video. With respect, Mike

    • @Lobapixel
      @Lobapixel  Рік тому

      The fact that you have Fiber optics internet should honestly give you no problems at all! I'm quite jealous of your internet set up lol! Glad that it's solid for you! If I were you I would first try out a test stream at the highest settings possible don't downscale until it's tested first. Test first then accommodate for settings depending on how well your internet set up can manage that much bandwidth. Start at 1080p 60fps because I don't think twitch will let you stream 1440p 60/120fps, and start at maybe 6000 bitrate then work your way down and really analyze twitch inspector to see how well your bitrate is doing and bandwidth too. You have possibly one of the best set ups for so far, so the process will be extremely smooth for you I believe!

    i have a 2070 super, my encoder is nvidia (new) and my cpu is a 9400f i5.. I play apex and story games most of the times..
    My bitrate is around 5250 to 5400.. so i stick to 5250 for consistency.. Now is it worth changing from 720p to 936p? even tho we are on a lower bitrate ? Because A couple streamer friends of mine have told me that better to stick to 720p if ur bitrate is below 6k.. and 936p if you're partnered so u can have that extra above 6k bitrate.

      You guys can actual just “squeeze” the source (being the game or screen capture) into the scene. Just drag the top left corner of game capture in, then drag the whole thing to the top left corner of scene and then grab bottom right corner of game capture and it’ll snap to the bottom left corner of scene. It doesn’t mess up quality either. That’s what I do.
