Your skill level is so high Steve, it is impressive. One thing is to bend the metal but finding out how to bend it and cut it the right way to make a panel is hard. Good job mate. I wish I was half as good as you are.

Steve, work on the heater tube and that section of inner panel is pure art! It will be nice to finally see invisible work about done and start on more outer panels to get the car closer to what it was originally!😁

Wow the work. On this. Granted a coupe is favored often by Porsche folks but splicing a sunroof on a targa and then deleting the sunroof omg This blows my Mind. The repair costs must be over the top. You clearly are a committed individual! Nice work!

A bit of a drive I’m not as young has I used to be and I find driving short distances a crippler and I’ve been everywhere having been a wagon driver most of my life, 54 years retired at 68 after a nasty fall at a customers premises!
Ambitious ! How much extra structure is there in the floor section in a Targa compared to a tin roof ? I think it will end up to be a very rigid car. By the way, very nice work. 👌 Hint, you can add piece of flex metal tube in the heat channel before assembly to keep it more tight. Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰

I only had one problem with this build… it’s a Targra! When I saw the tin roof I thought cool, but it would be even better without a sunroof… I’m happy now!

Hi Steve, I've been watching your videos for quite some time now and there's been a very noticeable development in the quality of your work, which is impressive seeing as you're expanding the business at the same time 👍 Can I ask what type of belts you use on the finger sander? I thought I'd bought some Norton ones off ebay but they last seconds for when it comes to finishing off mig welds!
Again, joining the watch late, but I did not see the roof coming! I hope the chassis was free or personal to the owner, as I think it would be cheaper start with one less rusty!
will this need to go thru type-approval for radically-altered? I know it's very hard to do this when you are taking away parts of the structure (saloon to pick-up or convertible for example) but as you are adding a roof it's a bit different 🤷♂

I'd love to see how you delete the sunroof. On my TR7 FHC I joddled a part roof panel and bonded it in with sikaflex 4720. If you can weld it without shrinkage I'll be very jealous.....
Finally someone's getting the ducks in a row! A Porsche Targa is wrong. ALL wrong! A proper Porsche is the one with a fixed roof! You'll never get the proper driving dynamics in a floppy roof. (Still slightly envious, either way a fixed or a Targa top... ;-) )
Sooooo really not much original material left of that car then when new roof, dash, rear deck is welded in… It would have been awesome to have an ‘Expensive Porsche Rust’ box as well!🤣✌️🤘🇨🇦

I knew, i had one ...tons and tons of rust on the old girl... it was a 1980 SC , so when people say cheap barn find, be very careful....

54 years wasn’t all HGV or PSV Motorbike car then the buses at 22 passed my PSV.
From then on in till I retired at 68 46 years driving the big stuff!
