Doctor Doom is one of the most complex and misunderstood characters in the marvel universe. His means are always at an end and everything he does is in the best interest of humanity. I hope the movies one day capture the character well.
Dr Doom isn’t really a villain he’s just a main antagonist to the FF and disagrees with their view points. He actually has a decent code of honor and seeks to fix the world albeit through his control. Emperor Doom proves all of this which is why I love that story. Dr. Doom is absolutely the BEST Supervillain in comics ever! They can introduce Doc Doom in the MCU as an antihero and move covertly to sponsor the Masters of Evil to do the Under Siege arc (good luck to Doc finding a real challenge to do battle with Capt. Marvel), then set up Emperor Doom or Secret Wars.
Victor Von Doom took out his future self in Iron Man #250 because he was disgusted with how weak he had become and totally dependent on life-support armour to eke out the remainder of his life.
I'm not going to stop saying this anytime soon: Jules' sincere messages at the end of the video have made me love his presentation. It carries through to the rest of his videos, too.
He is a villain but he's not evil lol, he just thinks that the world is in better hands when he rules it. Which is actually true! The only safe timeline is where he actually rules the world, plus he's that type of villain where if he sees you he won't do anything because you haven't done anything to him, neither does he want anything from you, because you don't know him and he doesn't know you, plus he has actual humanity, it's just not obvious.
Woah, you got his motives mixed up, it’s not just about power, has seen every ending to every timeline across infinite multiverses, he’s the only character to have seen beyond even the multiverse gods to the Omniverse. In every ending, the only one that survives is one that is Doom, his dictatorial control over earth is the only thing that saves ALL OF EXISTENCE from eventual collapse.
Yeah i remember seeing that. Doom saw all the possibilities and he's the only one that can rule the earth and save it. Its like he's destined to rule the world.
If he's not the antagonist, he's the protagonist. If he isn't fighting the heroes to take over the world, he's helping them save the universe. If he's despised even by his mother, he's content that people won't stand his evil.
Doom and Magneto are the best villains because they have some qualities that are noble which makes you feel their plight like Killmonger in the Black Panther movie. Sometimes they are not villains at all!
1:18 Doom killing his future self wouldn't create "god knows how many time paradoxes." It wouldn't create a single time paradox. It would only be a paradox if he killed a previous self.
just a shame you didnt include the next panel when Doom is speaking to Valeria, 'know you have my protection, anyone who seeks to harm you shall court the wrath of Doom'
Doctor Doom battled an ancient evil in MARVEL TEAM UP #43-44 (Ma-Ap'76). He shot Captain America's shield into space to prevent the Badoon from getting it in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. He even had his own solo series in ASTONISHING TALES #1-8 in 1970-71!
I can imagine Doom seeing a future version of himself gets to rule in a way he wouldn't have done it made him furious that anyone (even a future version of himself) actually showed him up.
Looking at the comments. Guys, Doom’s a villain, he’s done some good things but let’s not pretend he never willingly and knowingly committed the atrocities that he did, that’s just psychotic. Take that from a dude with a Doctor Doom pfp, lol.
