Excellent. Terrahawks always gives me some warm memories. Me and a load of my mates would go round another mate's house, and we'd sit and watch the show. We were all in our twenties, but it didn't matter. It was the high point of many Sunday afternoons. Such a cool, fun show, that never looks less than astonishing. I like in this episode, the sound of the Zyclon is the effect used on my beloved 'Space: 1999' for hostile alien ships, bases, and energy probes. Great to see this again. Thank you!
I'm always glad to come across another Terrahawks fan. I still think of the show whenever I hear a pop-song from 1984-85 (when I was aged 10-11). However, The Ultimate Menace isn't the greatest episode; probably because it lacks a performance from Terrahawks' own pop-star, Kate Kestrel.
Good to see a lot of support from Gerry Anderson for this classic action sci-fi comedy Anderson Burr TV series. This was another great episode, about AI Intelligence. Tiger would often say the Zeroids were inferior, but Zero would often prove the opposite.
I have been a UFO fan for decades, and Space 1999 to a lesser degree. I don't know at what point I was able to connect The Thunderbirds series with UFO and Space 1999, but thanks to many folks I am recently discovering just how extensive the Gerry Anderson universe extends.
I don’t get does tiger hate machines ? Didn’t he build the zerodes and Hutson . I mean he likes Hutson . I wish there was a novel explanation . As to why he acts the way he does to his own creations .
Well, because Tiger is part of the long Gerry Anderson tradition of have male leads who are frankly massive D*cks. Tiger is an exact physical and mental duplicate of his own creator, Doctor Gerard Stein, who is the kind of narcissist who would decide he couldn't trust protecting the Earth to anyone but himself, but that he was also too important to risk by actually doing it, so he creates an exact copy of himself and eight back-ups while he stays safe, far away from any actual danger. Hiro built Hudson, his AI at least and Tiger likes Hudson because Hudson is completely submissive and obedient. The Zeroids, are supposed to be expendable and replaceable and yet he gave them self-awareness and the capacity for independent thought. Tiger is a B@stard, because he was cloned from a B@stard.
More like Star Trek TMP. 4 Was the one with the Alien probe that wanted to talk to whales, TMP was the one with the gargantuan machine ship that was going to purge the Earth of all life
Windsor Davies was the only good thing about this series. It was a severe disappointment after it's excellent predecessors. The plot is totally illogical, not least as the alliance was completely unnecessary.
Hawkeye, Kate and Zero were good characters. The rest of the main cast were intolerable. Ninestein was a racist, egotistical arsehole, Mary was a doormat simp for Ninestein, Hiro was a boring, flat, one-dimensional character who barely had any relevance at all, Zelda and her minions were hideously laughable. Zelda was intimidating at times, but it also came across as cheesy and superficial. It was indeed a major disappointment compared to the previous shows, but to give it credit, it was far more out there and daring. That's probably what I like about it. And I honestly think it had the best theme tune out of any of the Gerry Anderson shows. It's so catchy!
Fabulous entertainment. Always love hearing the late Windsor Davies as Sgt Major Zero. 😍
One of Major Zero's finest moments and one of the best examples of malevolent vs benevolent AIs. GERONIMO!

lol I was 5 when this came out. I guess it would have been cool in my 20’s too though…
Appreciate this upload. My childhood is relieved.

Ninestein knew all along that Zero had emotions, or he wouldnt have felt the need to give him that dressing down before launching him off.
I gotta admit, that "you are just a machine" was a smart plot device.
I grew up in the 90s watching this everyday early in the morning.
Really good fun, cheers. Extremely interesting. I once almost ruined a family camping trip because I wanted to watch this lol
FAB for the 80s .. i remember this well i was a 80s kid found it kinda creepy though i did like seeing the puppets.
Nice to see Zelda and Ninestine coming together to fight an even bigger foe.

A little bit like Star Trek's "The Doomsday Machine."
Man! I used to be off my tits with excitement when a new episode of Terrahawks was on. I miss being 34.
Awesome stuff from an awesome time growing up. Now where’s my Spectrum? Fancy a bit of 80s 8-bit gaming. ;)
Zero is my favourite Terrahawks character.
Iam 46 you never forget old stuff and the music 🎶 best sounds from the 80s
Fantastic episode.
Once again, the Sergeant Major Zero proves that the "genius " Tiger is wrong about most things. 😂
I used to watch this as a very young kid in 🏴. I quite liked it but I always thought it was kinda weird 👍
ahhh that good old Space 1999 alien sci fi sound
It gets everywhere.
@@dogwalker666 ay, makes me smile to remember those old (cheesy) shows.
@@themisspultone indeed
Masterpiece
The opening credits were similar to Thunderbirds. Eg pilot of each vehicles.
Way tooooooo good guys freaking fantastic. 😎👍👍👍👍
Longest 2 Days in my life!
I would watch this as a young kid not sure why I loved the TV shows like this. There is also something called starfleet. I also saw
Fabulous!
The soundtrack at 0:55 sounds a LOT like a section of the main Star Wars theme. Anyone else catch that?
it's exactly the same 😆
Probably everyone that watched it. Parts also sound like the Star Trek film theme I think.
@@grahamfisher5436 Not exactly.
Favorite one
Scared the shit outta me as a kid in Liverpool
Dr. Ninstein's going a little overboard with himself.
The zeroing were never "just" machines
Great 👍
Wait, are those snow speeders from Star Wars?
went too harrods in london they were in a glass case made of gold and p/stones set up like a model railway wot wot

Try the audio series 😉

I was scared of zelda as a child.
♥️
Wasnt this the basic plot to Star Trek 4?
More like Star Trek TMP. 4 Was the one with the Alien probe that wanted to talk to whales, TMP was the one with the gargantuan machine ship that was going to purge the Earth of all life
:
how are sarge and 101 inanimate objects??????? they are moving and talking.....
Spoiling us :)
the fighter ships against the menace are kit bashed snowspeeders from starwars....
Theyre not..
this was a puppet series that had one flaw, it was far to ambitious for the technology. I should have made in CGI( 30 years later ).sad but true,
