I just want to set down my appreciation of the hard work, skill and inspiration of everyone involved in the making of this. I was 8/9 years old when I was lucky enough to be able to watch the original Captain Scarlet when it was first broadcast in the 1960’s. I think that the “feel” of the original has been translated perfectly into this new version. It captures all the excitement, action - and eeriness - of the original. Well done. I didn’t want it to end.
Still looks great. I remember ITV dumping this on Saturday morning, chopped up into small segments with no regular time slot - they killed it before it got any traction.😖
This has been a good show to watch!I mean;Captain Scarlet has been fun 🤩 to watch! It’s hard to believe, that this was made in;2005!Two thumb’s up,here!❤❤❤❤
Mercury has it`s very own Fireball XL5 style take off rail complete with expendable bogies that were lost for all eternity over the hill, nice touch, the more i see of these, the more i like them, the stories are tight and build tension and the CGI artwork is holding up well for its age.
Much as i absolutely love Fireball XL5 (as in it's my favourite spaceship design evaaaarrrrr lol) I would have been happy to accept the Mercury ship as an updated version just as long as they made the main fuselage a good bit longer. I get it that this is a short range shuttle but the deep space XL missions would need that extra body length to store all the extra equipment as well as supplies, fuel, jet cycles etc. Many thanks for the upload guys.
As much as I am being a new fan, the new Rhino is as cool as the old SPV. Also it was such a great homage to Fireball XL5. I totally appreciate your effort of making this show back in 2003-2004 with all the technology it got back then.
I just saw;the Captain Scarlet documentary, tonight. And,while I don’t remember that show in 1967,I’ve come to enjoy it,as,I got it as a Christmas 🎄 present several year’s ago.Recently,it’s been redone as a radio show for;Big Finish production’s in England.
I just warched the Captain Scarlet documentary last night,i think i had a tear in my eye,so many childhood memories of all the GA shows from Supercar onwards, what an incredible man he was,we owe him so much for these gems,i think Captain Scarlet really will live forever.
Love that the Mercury uses a similar kind of launch ramp to the XL series of spacecraft. C'mon Gerry Anderson Cinematic Universe. Also Black was able to bluff his way around as a SPECTRUM agent. Are his credentials still in circulation or does the hat just give him the air of authority?
To be honest the Mercury shuttle just screams Fireball XL5. It's design, it's launch, even the crew. Think about. Compare Blue and Destiny to Zodiac and Venus, Each with one Yank and one Frenchwoman( well half French In Destiny's case).
Nice effect, passing Mach 1 while still on the ramp, however at that speed the ship would have splattered in the curve to vertical. Better if the runway rose over the Earth's curvature still in a laser straight launch.
The animation(computer animation)if fantastic,here!My dad would love ❤️ the artwork,here!As,he was an art teacher 👩🏫 himself,when he was alive!He also enjoyed(the late)Derek Medding’s animation in;Ufo!I like how the water 💦 dance’s when something explode’s!He told me.
I have only seen a few of these Captain Scarlets on TV, but why does Captain Scarlet now have an American accent, is it to sell this to the U.S.? just does not sound right at all.
@@ACtheLegend Captain Scarlet was voiced by English actor Francis Matthews who has a similar voice to Cary Grant but I've never thought of the accent being anything but English.
I do get it but the whole attraction of all of the Gerry Anderson creations was that there was nothing else like them before or since, this is great to look at but all somehow unoriginal and commonplace.
Not the same character though, different person in this version, as are most of the characters. Scarlet and White are the only two who are more or less the same people :)
There is no Mysteron gun in this series, nor the camera. Just as the aliens no longer tend to announce their evil plans once a week via radio, this continuity is separate from the original ‘60s show.
lol what is this, this is stiffer than the original series if someone ran about with some superglue and sabotaged the puppets. this is a travesty for people who grew up with the original
Love the new vehicles and angel interceptors
XL5 launch ramp? Lifting body from the Zero-X?
Aw hell yes!
Firefly?

I feel the same
Me too!
except it made Scarlett American....
Love this series, an underrated British jem 🇬🇧💎😄‼️

First 'The Storm at the End of the World' and now 'Mercury Falling'? Oh boy we are being spoiled.
This is a good 👍 show for the weekend!
New Captain Scarlet, just love it. A fitting tribute 2 the great Gerry Anderson
@Marky Mark357: It was actually made BY the late great Gerry Anderson! Lol
Mind I do agree with you!
Happy Captain Scarlet Day! Spectrum Is Green!
You just made an old man well chuffed.Love the story, the cast, the vehicles and everything about it.
Man this series really doesn't get the credit it deserves
these episodes have been available for years, for a few hopeful seconds, I was hoping this was series 3 :-(
Now stuff like this justifies whatever your internet costs. Just brilliant.
Another episode, and so soon at the heels of the last? What a gift for us all! Regards to everyone and see you at premiere time. SIG.

the plasticy faces are understandingly a little off, but for 2005 CGI television animation, this is outstanding.
that was one of the most exciting episodes I've seen in a while :)
used to watch the original back when i was a kid when u cud see the strings and all lol !! this is pretty good better than i expected well done !!
Excellent production… thanks so much for sharing
I miss the old theme song and puppets but this looks cool!
i still love the little detail of the lifting body as an omage to zero x

Thanks!
Loved it...thanks for sharing ❤️ ♥️
That was superb - and I’m 60! 🤣
Fantastic episode reference of Fireball XL5 in this one when the Mercury shuttle is launched.
I think this is a great show, and one of the last one’s produced by Gerry Anderson.
Wonderful, just Wonderful!
Ministry of Mayhem is dead, long live New Captain Scarlet

You could make the case this is the precurser to the XL series.

Imagine having the Fireball XL5 theme playing when the craft is airborne
That launch was pure Fireball XL 5!

That was very entertaining
Captain Scarlet!
Curious how the Mercury shuttle takes off in EXACTLY the same way as Fireball XL5! ;-)

From the way she reacted to Scarlet she didn't check them on purpose. She might have wanted to look extra cooperative.
And the nose-cone from the Zero X in the Thunderbirds are Go movie.

@@rockacraig5653 Thankfully no Lazoon on board though. Weeeelcome Hooome!
こんな凄いのあったんだ〜😮
いいな〜。
新たに作ったんだね。❤
Brilliant!
would be nice to see real actors playing the parts in a new series
I love ❤ Destiny Angel 😇.
Nice tribute to Fireball XL5
wow, im 57 but for 20 minutes i was 4 years old
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I think I prefer puppets and models rather than the cartoon format.
the ramp reminds me of 'when worlds collide'... but the G forces....oh dear..
The names of all of The Angels are Destiny, Harmony, Rhapsody, Melody and Symphony.
Nice effect, passing Mach 1 while still on the ramp, however at that speed the ship would have splattered in the curve to vertical. Better if the runway rose over the Earth's curvature still in a laser straight launch.
well that was a fall from grace .... (canyon scene)
Lol I saw it coming but wasn't expecting 😅 that
Happy 😃 Captain Scarlet day!👏
Haha no way, I used to watch the re runs in the 90's
Dude ejecto seat-o'd the doc!
Captain Scarlet Looks different than in Epispde 1 I would prefer the first model
I think the take off being so similar to Fireball XL5 was a coincidence
Now 63! " Still love Capt Scarlet , new CGI Shows are "F.A.B. Wow Stuck on Cloud Base" With The Angels", I would work for "FREE""

Can this show return with season 3 please
Great show but I do miss the puppets
at the launch was anyone else singing the Fireball XL5 theme song ?
Oddly, while I am quite sure that I saw this episode months ago, the episode entitled Storm At The End of the World doesn't look at all familiar.
no voice of the mysterons?
Why did they rename Cloud Base to Sky Base?
I like the nod to Fireball EL5 But I still want to know 1 thing, what happens to the launch gantry?
What do you mean?
I have only seen a few of these Captain Scarlets on TV, but why does Captain Scarlet now have an American accent, is it to sell this to the U.S.? just does not sound right at all.
Scarlet always had an American accent, it was based on Cary Grant, an American, in the classic series and is mid-Atlantic here.
@@ACtheLegend Captain Scarlet was voiced by English actor Francis Matthews who has a similar voice to Cary Grant but I've never thought of the accent being anything but English.
@@ACtheLegend Cary Grant (Archibald Leach) was English born in Bristol.
@@malcolmbacchus866 true, but he had duel citizenship and his accent was distinctly Trans-atlantic, which is what Francis was imitating.

Cary Grant was English, he was from Bristol
Let me get this straight….. Captain Scarlet is STILL being produced!?!? Where can I watch it??
This is the 2005 series, which ran for 26 episodes. It's available on BluRay and DVD, and on Amazon
What's the acronym S.I.G mean?
Spectrum is green - meaning affirmative
@GerryAndersonTV thank you 😊
Anyone else notice that Captain Blue kinda looks like Daniel Craig?
appreciate the work but how's about a bit of Joe 90 with the original intro, what lil fella doesn't want to be a secret agent !
Sorry not a patch on the original but a fare try.
I prefer the original series
I do get it but the whole attraction of all of the Gerry Anderson creations was that there was nothing else like them before or since, this is great to look at but all somehow unoriginal and commonplace.
Can't see a reboot featuring Captain Black as the baddie I mean it's so negative....
How so? All baddies are negative, that's why they're baddies.
😎😎😎👍
so now they are using computer animation instead of puppets. Interesting.
This show is from 2005 😊
PLEASE Subtitle SPANISH
Not a patch on the OG.
Lt Creen was never a woman?!!!!
Not the same character though, different person in this version, as are most of the characters. Scarlet and White are the only two who are more or less the same people :)
so laughable the dialogue who scripted this wasteing sheets of A four paper
Why doesn't Scarlet use the mysteron gun and end Black.
Many would disagree, including Gerry himself, who was very proud of it :)
@@ACtheLegend I'm sure he does, possibly looking back on the original with rose tinted glasses
Are you kidding?! New Captain Scarlet is inherently superior to the original and is quite arguably Gerry Anderson's greatest work.
@@epsilonalphaargo1948 I wouldn't say 'superior'. Just different.
I much prefer the original puppetry -- far more realistic than this CCG garbage
If you're going to badmouth something, at least get the initials right :)
