    New subscriber. I feel like you are who I have been looking for forever... skin care is so hard to navigate through with all of the fake skin care using influencers.
    I have had a difficult time with skin care products through the years, and have really worked against my skins best interests. I am in my mid 50’s, and now have premature aging, skin damage with hyperpigmentation spots, and deep forehead wrinkles. I will go through your videos to see what you recommend for reversing these issues, as well as hopefully your feelings about the High frequency machines, and other skin care machines out there. Thank you for your knowledge. ❤️🌸🙏

    Thanks for mentioning this for micellar water. Especially part that it can be used as only cleanser.. Internet is full of "smart" skincare "experts".. People rather have strpped skin then healthy. I also thinks there is a lot of unfair attack on micellar water, lik, people compare it with detergent for dishes.. The truth is, it repairs skin barrier, when its washed off, ofc.

    Hey olena! The micelle solution needs to be rinsed off correct?
    Also, do you still recommend the sebium cleansing gel? I’ve noticed it makes my skin a bit tight. So I might switch over the sensibio cleanser.
    Thanks so much for all your information ❤️🥰

    • @OlenaBeley
      @OlenaBeley  5 років тому +4

      Every cleanser or makeup remover regardless of the name or marketing needs to be rinsed off, yes. 🤗
      I recommend products for certain contexts, not in a vacuum. So the Sebium cleanser is amazing for some people, but not for people with skin that doesn’t like them. Hence this video. 🥰
      Like I said, your skin needs to feel comfortable after cleansing - not tight, dry, flakey, red.
      Many people don’t realize this and use cleansers that don’t suit their skin. So it sounds like the Sebium is not for you!

    I’ve been using the Bioderma sensibio micellar water for a whole decade but I never knew I could only just use that as a cleanser. I am currently using the micellar water with a Shiseido cotton round followed by Marcelle’s cleansing milk face wash but it might be too much. I am pretty sure I have fungal acne (acne products make my skin worse and NOTHING ever worked on my adult acne which I have struggled with for 11years now) and not a single doctor i have seen for it ever heard of fungal acne.... how is this possible?!!? so I am going for all fungal acne safe products but my face is still breaking out. Perhaps I will try just using the micellar water on it’s own and moisturize with my Laroche Posay Toleriane sensitive fluid and hope for the best because I am so sick of dealing with this.... thanks for your great videos!!!

    Hi there Olena!
    I'm an esthetician and I have been following your channel for some time now. I have to say that I completely agree with what you are saying, especially on your video where you talk about how people shouldn't use food on their face.
    This is a regular struggle for me because I often have clients that rely completely on coconut oil to moisturize their face and apple cider vinegar to treat acne.
    And during our skin analysis, I always notice one thing: superficial dehydration.
    I want to ask you what do you think of Medik8? Have you ever tried their products, and what was your experience? I mostly work with Medik8 or Germaine De Capuccini, but I have found Medik8 to be my savior for every skin concern. Thank you for making these videos and educating people on how to take good care of their skin.

    • @OlenaBeley
      @OlenaBeley  5 років тому +4

      Yay I'm SO happy that you get that food on the face is ridiculously damaging!! :) That's amazing!!
      Regarding Medik8, I'm not super into the brand as their products usually contain essential oils/fragrance and are not that amazingly formulated in general! Any company that has a clay mask in their range is...not serious in my opinion. I'm really about long-term results, like 6 months, 12 months, a decade down the road -- I think Medik8 can "work" for a little while because damage takes time to show up from products, but ultimately it's no bueno. I hope you don't take offence!
      Thanks so much for your lovely comment and for watching the video!
      Love,
      Olena

      @@OlenaBeley Absolutely not taking any offense. I asked for an opinion, and I thank you for that. However, we definitely agree on the whole "putting food on your face" situation that seems like it's taking the internet by storm, especially Pinterest. I am trying really hard to control my reaction whenever my clients try to convince me how natural skincare remedies did wonders for their skin when the result of these is pretty obvious to me under the magnifying glass. You are great and keep up the good work! xx

  • @Sirirenen
    @Sirirenen 5 років тому +1

    Hey, great video as always Olena! I read some things on makeupalley about the second cleanser being pore clogging and bumping up their skin, which made me a bit unsure to purchase it. Maybe it wasn’t the cleanser at all, but there seemed to be several with the same problem. Maybe there’s an ingredient in there people commonly are allergic to?
    Also, how do you clean the reusable cotton pads? :) Thanks 😄

    • @OlenaBeley
      @OlenaBeley  5 років тому +6

      Hey hey! Thanks so much!
      You'll hear all kind of stuff on makeup alley -- but context matters. If someone is using super high-coverage impossible-to-remove makeup, then this cleanser won't do the trick without the reusable cotton pad alternatives. But is it the cleanser causing the issue, or the makeup? That's why I'm so about well-formulated products all around, not just skincare but makeup too.
      The cleanser itself has nothing in it that would clog pores though. Similarly, you'll hear people complaining about the micelle solution -- when they don't rinse it off. So how you use the product is as important as what you are using.
      The reusable cotton pads go in the laundry in a laundry baggie they come with...like normal laundry :)
      Love,
      Olena

      I have no idea who that is, but both are fungal acne safe and I have a ton of clients who got clear, healthy skin and healed successfully from malassezia folliculitis without ever needing to even use an anti-fungal using one of these two cleansers.
      There's a lot of alarmist info re malassezia folliculitis on the internet, people afraid of sorbates etc... Again, I've seen people successfully heal from malassezia with sorbates and glycerin in their skincare. Fear is the worst inflamer of all anyway.

      I was looking at the ingredients of the Sensibio foaming gel. I see some ingredients that on the internet are called fungal acne triggers. These ingredients: 'Glyceryl Oleate', 'PEG-90 Glyceryl Isostearate', 'Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate', 'Ascorbyl Palmitate'. That's why stopped using it.
      The Sebium foaming gel has the ingredient 'PEG-90 Glyceryl Isostearate'. Also on the internet called fungal acne trigger.
      Another example The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. It has: 'Ethyl Linoleate', 'Glyceryl Stearate', 'Cetyl Palmitate', 'Sucrose Laurate', 'Polysorbate 20'. Also on the internet called fungal acne triggers.

However when i use this bioderma's micelle solution , my skin feels 'comfortable' as u said. So can i permanently avoid the sebium gel based cleanser for this micelle solution. but since u call sebium moussant as one of the best cleansers, i am hesitant to permanently not use that as well. A cleanser is just the starting point, it's not the solution, but it's an important part of the solution.
      I had a client who told me that she implemented almost the whole routine I created for her, but she wasn't using one particular active. Her skin improved, but not by much. She finally decided to introduce that product and a week later her skin was clear. Every part of a routine plays an important role in getting you the results you want so we can't rely on a cleanser to do all the work. :)

      Citric Acid in this context is used as a PH adjuster, making sure the cleanser is not alkaline (which would suck for sensitive skin). As per the video, this cleanser is in fact safe for sensitive skin and all the ingredients were considered in the context in which they were used.

I refuse to use makeup wipes as they tend to be irritating for my skin and I don't like the harsh tugging you have to do to get rid of it.
