I'm an FSU fan and to date, as far as UA-cam goes, you're the only guy on UA-cam that's pushing an FSU to the SEC narrative. Virtually everyone thinks FSU to the B1G is a done deal. I'm not sure if you're informed on FSU's history, but FSU and the SEC have a VERY strained relationship stemming from the SEC declining FSU for two decades, then getting upset when they finally came around to giving FSU an invite and FSU spurning them for the ACC. The SEC was so butthurt that aside from the Gators, the SEC refused to schedule FSU for a decade.
Lets also not forget how horrible the relationship between FSU and ESPN and the State of Florida and Disney is.
I'd love to see FSU in the SEC, but it's not going to happen.

FSU has beef with ESPN too. Why would they continue to be under ESPN? They would rather be under Fox. ESPN also could have appeased FSU by saying, we won't charge you the gor if you just move to the SEC.

I don't think people understand the culture at these ACC schools. They aren't going to the big-12. It's not going to be an upgrade, even if this unlikely big-10/sec scenario was going to happen.
I don't know if Clemson is desired. Believe me that I want them to be, I'd take them, I think passing on them is dumb, but I think there's a reason why that camp is so quiet.
The SEC isn't taking four NC/VA schools. They'll take one of each. I don't know that the big-10 would take 1 of each though. I think they'd only take UVA and UNC but the prize there is UNC and UVA is the tolerable add on. NCSU and VT aren't the same quality of package deal... especially with the decline of VT football.
The ACC won't expand out west if they can help it. Eastern options will be favored. Stanford and Cal wouldn't even want most every team listed there, even former conference mates I suspect.
Uconn, Temple, Delaware (moving to FBS), USF (especially in your scenario where they lost all Florida schools), UAB are all better options than most that list (Tulane and perhaps Memphis excepted, though memphis academics are pretty atrocious).
Boise, App state are laughable non-options.

      A low chance.

    • @michaelwall3393
      @michaelwall3393 8 місяців тому +5

I say that is very likely to happen since it will be the last true P5 schools now becoming P4 that ACC could add in conjunction with MWC and AAC and SBC schools and two Big East schools that will be added as full members and then comes the service academies for all sports and push that.
If the ACC does this what I think they should do, it will be nearly impossible to lose Autonomy Status and get way less money than the Big12 but probably equal revenue but obviously below SEC and BiG10.
I suspect that 6-7 schools will leave the ACC. Depressed Ginger is a BiG10 bozo and Ohio State grad goof. All media sources have pointed out that FSU and Miami are most likely going to BiG10 not SEC. UVA, VT, UNC, and NCST are linked to go to the SEC as it stands. Clemson or GT would be another school that might leave but not guaranteed to.
So my suggestions for adds if lose 6-7 schools are as follows:
      WazzU
      OzzU
      San Diego St
      Colorado St
      UTSA or Rice
      Tulane
      USF
      Villanova
      UCONN
      Air Force
      Army
      Navy
      JMU or ODU or both
CCU or App St or neither
This is not the perfect alignment and replacement scenario but is solid and keeps the conference core primarily along the Atlantic Seaboard and Eastern Time Zone. Now again if only 2-4 schools leave then only 6-8 schools listed here get added and still counting Notre Dame is in all sports except football still. The schools I mentioned are the ones ND and others play often or regularly and have decent to moderate success against other conferences.

I think adding memphis makes a lot of sense. They have made a NY6 game recently, won more games on football than aby ither AAC team that left for the Big12, have had 2 #1 recruiting classes in basketball. Those are good things for even a power conference team. They have a higher upside than any other group of five team in my opinion. What they haven't done is take advantage of their opportunities. They should have been in at least two more NY6 games, Missing two field goals on the last play of the game That would have either put them in one or put them in position to be in one. They only had one tournament win with those two number one classes. Regardless of this, There is much more potential there than any other G5 team available. Given some resources and a better conference, They may be a school that benefits greatly from a change of scenery.

Second if the B10 is the new base line contracts, then the SEC contract is way undervalued and could exceed 125 mill based on past performances. Third I was there for both the LSU and Syracuse game. The atmosphere and attendance was night and day. Imagine the amount of money flowing in to the local economy if we are playing teams from the south versus Rutgers, NW, Indiana etc. Lastly, can you imagine the road nightmare for other sports traveling from NJ to Cali to Chicago versus South Carolina to Tennessee.

I have this crazy idea for the college football playoffs. Have the top 13 teams make the college playoffs. Then have the next group of 12 have an NIT tournament. But here’s the kicker. The winner of the NIT tournament gets a play in a play in game with the 14th team the following year automatically for winning the NIT tournament and each team that advance get to share in prize pool divided amongst the players and if by chance the team that wins the NIT qualifies automatically for the tournament the runner up to playing game with the 14th team. Just some kind of crazy ideal that I came up with and you can use the bowl games to run this tournament. That way you still have the sponsors in the bowl games mean something to the players and to the team and have some financial benefit. For each round money to split among the players and coaches. The more you advance in the tournament, the higher the price for money to split. Between the players. What do you think about this idea? I know it probably won’t work but it’s something to think about.

Grab Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia, and Georgia Tech. Also, Boston College's Sports Market would be a great Big 10 Fit. Cal and Standford should be allowed in the Big 10, Again you need Mid Tier and Cup Cake Teams. Plus Cal and Stanford are both ACADEMIC POWERHOUSES with LOTS OF MONEY. Also, by grabbing Standford, you FORCE NotreDame to go to the Big 10 because you could simple deny them access to all of their rivals: Standford, USC, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, and Penn State. Also, Boston College and Syracuse have great sports markets. why limit them to 20 schools. become a Super Conference and grab as many sports markets as you can.

Their main problem I think is that people who live in Vegas don’t care about a UNLV football game cause at the end of the day if they do care about football, they go to a Raiders games, other than that there is a billion of other things to do in Vegas. Not to mention that UNLV doesn’t even have their own stadium and this is literally the first year they’ve ever made it to the mountain west conference championship game and lost, they play at allegiant and need to pay the NFL every game day. I’d say the ACC needs to just completely poach the top of the mountain west including Boise State, San Diego state and Fresno state, add in Memphis and create a western division to mediate travel costs, especially when you consider sports like softball or baseball that play a ton of games. This is my thoughts at least

Yeah, you say this but think about the new contract deal without FSU, Clemson, and UNC. The rest of the ACC won't be satisfied with the low ball offer from ESPN. ACC commish, Jamee Phillips, is going to experience what Kiofkoff went through in trying find new media money that will appease the other schools. Remember, a partial payout from the B1G/SEC is still more than a full and lesser payout if they stay in the ACC. Miami and Duke might find homes based on brand recognition at a bargain rate. That then lessens the value of the ACC even more. Backfilling with the likes of Tulane, SDSU, Memphis, etc. wont move the needle.Other ACC schools get nervous and this is where Yormark shines. He'll perfectly time discussions with Louisville, Pitt, VT and maybe NC State if they're still on the table. The Big 12's sale pitch is "We may not be rich like the B1G/SEC but we're not poor either. We're like upper middle class. Plus, we'll build your brand. We can get you to the playoffs. No one here is 2nd Tier having to play 2nd fiddle to an OSU, an Alabama, an FSU. We're all equal."

The Big 12 will cherry pick schools best fit or geographically advantageous. That would be Pitt, VT, NC State, and Louisville.

ESPN holds all the cards in the future of the ACC. The exit of the football powers as FSU & Clemson will allow ESPN to re-open the ACC TV contract. All ESPN needs to do is ditch the ACC TV contract or even low ball the ACC on the contract renewal. FOX will not run to the rescue just like the PAC was left out to die. All the ACC schools left by the P2 will then scurry to join the Big-12. The ACC may still survive by adding G5 schools, however their P5 status will be lost.

I will happily take any bet for Clemson or FSU getting out of the ACC this summer. There is no way in hell FSU is not paying 600 million plus in Grant of rights and exit fees. • @roris5882

FSU isn't paying much to get out of their horrible ACC deal because the conference violated their portion of the contract and FSU Board never signed the GOR. That's why the ACC is trying to prevent people from seeing their contracts. But I agree that FSU probably won't be leaving the ACC this Summer unless the ACC refuses to pay them for last year. Then they will be able to claim the ACC is illegally withholding their revenue and will leave right away for their own survival and battle it out in court for the next 10 to 20 years. By then the ACC most likely won't even exist.

    24 teams 100% makes sense.
You have 4 divisions of 6.
Final week of the regular season you play a cross over matchup. This would base off of ranking. This sets up a semi final. But also the rest of the division would play the like seed of the other division that the 1 seed plays.
Look at the B1G business model. They own every major market out side of Miami, Dallas and Atlanta.
B1G adds 4, Miami, Ga Tech, FSU and Notre Dame
    SEC goes to 20/24
Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Louisville, Ok State
