I would've also included Gary Coleman and Michael Jackson, although in their cases, they weren't NEARLY ruined by their families. They WERE ruined by their respective families.
Gary’s parents should have put the money he earned towards his treatment. Poor guy was so sick he needed a transplant at age 5 plus doctors didn’t expect him to make it past age 12.
This is why, if I ever have children, that I'm not going to force them to join the toxic entertainment industry. They deserve a normal childhood, first and foremost.
Kit Culkin seems like a really toxic, demanding person, no wonder Macaulay eventually quit acting in his teens, though I'm glad that he and his siblings are thriving, and he's in a happy relationship with Brenda Song.

It's so sad that Kit Culkin's jealousy and abuse got in the way. A normal father would've been very proud of his son. Now Macaulay has kids and his other sons Kieran and Rory have also taken off and Kit doesn't get to enjoy any of these.

Gary’s parents should have considered because of his medical bills, he would extra help to save for a car, house, and other expenses.
Why is it so hard for parents to open bank accounts for their kids? The kids money can be put towards their college, a car, a house, medical emergencies, and help them start their own families.
The Coogan case helped so many child actors, however with McCurdy it was her mom who failed to file the Coogan papers. Seems like a conflict of interest.

My oldest is almost 5. He is a very handsome little boy. It’s not just me as his mother saying it. When he was around 1 I had entered him into cutest baby contest. The prize was $25k. He didn’t win. My husband and I both agreed the money was to go directly to a college fund. A few months later I was approached by a friend of a family friend asking if they could use him for modeling. We decided already taken pictures of him could be used and we’d be glad to take some more, but we weren’t going to put him into a pressuring photo shoot. The friend decided never mind. Like for cutest baby, we agreed that any money made would go to a college fund.

Parents need to be proud of their kids not jealous. Hope his father realizes someday envy gets you nowhere.
Yes, nepotism and/or affluent families paying their children's way into showbiz is bad, unfair and should not happen in the dimensions that it does, but on the other hand in those cases there aren't as many cases of detrimental tensions and financial abuses that usually occur within families whose main income comes from one children or more (especially a minors/young adults) in showbiz.

No. the love of Money and prestege can become toxic. Better to hire a professional, vetted, reliable accountant and manager for a child. Loving Parents/guardians should just be that for a child actor/entertainer. They need a refuge/safe spot in their lives to escape toxic elements of the entertainemnt industry and the media.

I feel really bad for what Jennette McCurdy went through. It’s so sad about what she went through with her life. I’ve read her book and listen to it and everything she says in her book is true I met her a long time ago at CAPITOL RECORDS Hollywood in 2011 they were doing a filming for the Food Network cupcake wars to celebrate the release of her country music that she did I’m not really a big fan of country music but I like her songs generation love is such a beautiful song and put your arms around. Someone is like a warm hug. and CAPITOL RECORDS Nashville was there and I was lucky to meet her is so sad but she went through with her life and now whenever I watch her on Nickelodeon shows like iCarly and Sam and Cat and I listen to her music from time to time I know that she never liked him because of her mom

She sent nothing to her father and didn’t call him even though the Queen talked to her about it and offered to arrange a meeting. No she wrote a letter and mailed it (could have land in anyone’s hands) when months went by and it wasn’t in the news 4 “good friends” spoke up for her, trashing her father, these friends just happens to have ties with a news outlet. They also left out that MM gave interviews where she implied that her sister was a liar.
