Wonderfully funny sketch Rita was great very nice seeing this again And Glen Campbell appearance at the end was delightful, R.I. P. Harvey Rita and Glen what a Great TV moment. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love dear Rita...a true Hollywood legend and great beauty....plus, a real good sport to do this hilarious sketch! ; ) ...On a sad and poignant note, Rita was also the one who put a famous celebrity name to the awful disease, Alzheimer's, which led to her death in 1987 at the age of 68. It's ironic that Glen Campbell was in this sketch at the end, as he too would succumb from the ravages of Alzheimer's at the age of 81 in 2017. May they both rest in peace....we'll never forget them
Yes, she did asked. I was listening to Carol’s autobiography and she mentioned Rita’s participation. She said Rita was a simple woman… went to the studio without her entourage… ❤
I thought the same thing too! then I thought hey maybe it is Eunice lol, if the character had a daughter, but I think they only ever mentioned her having sons haha
I'm glad Rita did this. It is a shame how little awareness for Alzheimer's there was at the time. I think it ruined her legacy because reporters went to the assumption that she was another Hollywood alcoholic. I have shared her films with many millennials that now idolize her.
Sad that both Rita Hayworth and Glen Campbell were taken out by Alzheimer's. Her still-beloved ex-husband Orson Welles was the first to call it (after she'd made some public appearances in which she was mistakenly thought to be intoxicated). "She was not a drunkard--She had the same illness that ended John Barrymore..." said Welles.
Rita was a legendary beauty and enormously talented in the forties and she's still beautiful here twenty years later. She had a sad life though, with abusive husbands who want through her money like water, and alzheimers stealing her intelligence and memory.
Please, just what year was this?Someone talked about Rita being so beautiful in the forties, and how she was still beautiful her twenty years later,.So,I suppose then that this was probably sometime in the sixties.Am I correct, please?Anyway,Go bless the dear memory of screen legend Rita Hayworth.
Zaphod Broxbeeble according to a documentary about Rita H,she was abused by her father for years 😢😔 she was his dancing partner when she was a child ,so understandably she had trouble coming to terms with that ,abuse victims can feel as though they ‘ deserved ‘ it .Thank god she found some kind of peace / stability living with her daughter who helped look after her in her later years ...
Rita was taken advantage of by leeches in the entertainment industry & personal life. She also was a real person and this was her first TV appearance & the Carol Burnett Show wasn't petty. A great way for her to say hi to her fans & have fun for a change
@@carolburnettcomedyqueen521 Any chance you have the sketch when Carol Burnett sings 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' as ALL 3 sisters of The Andrew Sisters..Patty, Maxine & Laverne. Have been searching to find it for a looooong time!! I have all the TimeLife Collection & Lost Episodes dvds but unfortunately this song sketch was not included! If not, how can I find it & obtain/purchase it???
Love Rita, I'm old as dirt. Liked Carol, but this wasn't the greatest. Especially considering it WAS a Super Star Rita Hayworth on her show. It could and SHOULD have been a lot better than this.
Yeah that would be on the writers. I read Rita's bio and at this time she was having memory loss issues. So I don't know if they didn't do anything too elaborate because of that. I just hoped she had fun.
Oh was Taco Bell around in 1972 ? At least in Philadelphia they weren't they're were hardly any McDonald's or KFc's in Philly in the 70's , much less Taco Bell's

It's always nice to see Rita Hayworth. She is a true Hollywood icon.

Rita retained her beauty her entire life. I hope the good times outweighed the bad. What a life! ❤️ She was very funny in this sketch too!!
Rita Hayworth looked terrific. Thanks for posting this ‼️
Lovely lady Rita Hayworth! She was a Legend!!! 💙💙💙
Wow! I didn't know Carol had Rita on her show! I love Rita.. ♡
Great skit. Carol Burnett is always a good. Rita Hayworth, a princess of Hollywood, was such a beauty. 🙏💓
I love Rita so dearly. I’ve waited forever to see this sketch and I just stumbled across it, this made my evening! ♡
I love Carol Burnett and I love Rita Hayworth. I bet Rita enjoyed being with Carol Burnett.
Wilderness Voice I couldn’t agree more 😍💫💫😍
Rita the fierce red head. She's the flame that scorched the silver screens.
The story goes that Rita asked Carol to appear on the show after Rita saw the spoof they did of "Gilda".
Oh Wow David , that’s good to know
Gloria Swanson did that too, after the spoof of SUNSET BOULEVARD.
I love it
Yes, she did asked. I was listening to Carol’s autobiography and she mentioned Rita’s participation. She said Rita was a simple woman… went to the studio without her entourage… ❤
Carol almost looks like Eunice in this costume. Thanks for posting.
Same wig maker😂
It is Eunice 🤣😂🤣🤣

Still funny 50+ years later!
It is so great to watch scenes from our favorite tv shows.
Carol is so funny. I love Rita, she was the most beautiful actress in the world 😀
incredible performances - brilliant & beautiful
7:06 BRILLIANT sketch writing.....LOL
That was good TV. I have to say I have never seen this before but how I laughed.
Thank you for these! I love coming across sketches I've never seen before!
Hopefully it stays up! YT already pulled my 43rd street sketch :(
Carol is Crazy!!! Lol, messing with Rita like that!!! 😩😂😅
Rita Hayworth and Glenn Campbell....r.i.p.
Even more eerily ironic, both died from Alzheimer's.
@@wmbrown6 First thing I thought of too. Sad
The "Happy Hayworth Smile".... hahahaha!
And she's still so beautiful here. This was her first TV show appearance.
I uploaded the Blooper from this also.
I always see and hear Rita as Gilda

gosh what a talent is Carol
A true classic funny skit.. Very I Love Lucyish 😉
OMG! 😲 Look at that hairdo on Glenn Campbell!
To quote John Waters, it's a "hair-DON'T!"
I didn't remember seeing Rita on Carol Burnett show but I was just reading Rita Hayworth bio and had to see it.
0:26. Oh that necklace! We had so many of those from our trips to Carlsbad, NM.
Wow, Rita was a doll!
A bit ironic as both Rita and Glen Campbell both were afflicted with Alzheimer’s in their later years.
Age doesn't come alone.......but youth is worth what it brings.
Not ironic just coincidence.
I had the exact same thought. 💭
Hilarious and funny

Rita: I was eating!
Carol: It didn’t look like it!
Rita: Yes I was eating!
😂😂😂😂😂
He offered them a table at the taco bell next door oh my goodness
"She didnt even mind it when I broke into her house" wow.
Lyle Waggoner was so handsome
Hillarious 🇺🇸🇩🇰♥️
That was the song from gilda carol was singing!😎😃
Taco Bell has been around since the 70s! Wow!
It's a shocker I know

i totally agree.....Rita could have been on anyone's TV show!!
For some reason that Dress and hair makes me think of her character Eunice from the Family Sketches.
5:40 😂😂😂😂
Go look at the blooper video of that exact part. I uploaded it.
I was eating ,lmbo love wen Rita turn up
Did anyone beside me notice that at tyhe start Hayworth was holding the menu upside-down
I actually ate at the Brown Derby once.
She looks a lot like Eunice, but this was about 6 years before Eunice was "born".
I never understood why people would ask people for autographs. They may be “famous” but they are still only PEOPLE
Vickys outfit make her look like a Popsicle!
I wonder if Rita is reading her lines from the menue.

For me it is OK if they worked it out for Miss Hayworth. A great public figure deserves a great way out.
Dude, Rita appeared in a number of sketches on this episode, and this sketch was all Carol anyways...ua-cam.com/video/fjwzYcsgZxY/v-deo.html
What a coincidence Glen and Rita both died the same, with Alzheimer, however great artists never die.
It is funny and sad at the same time knowing what was to come. Rita looked lovely, but i thought the sketch was insulting.
SOCKS WITH SANDALS....I'm...feeling...dizzy....oh wait, it's the colors, not the footwear, lol!
