Haha. I broke the roll o matic off of a 4010 diesel too. Dropped in a county drain tile that washed out. We completely missed it mowing and raking because we used tractors with wide fronts and of course the hay covered it.
I got a 1961 dad bought it in 1965 diesel 4010 it was the big horse back then also have a1970 4020 diesel the 4010 has been engine been completely rebuilt bored big cam runs great but not enough radiator for extra horsepower now it’s main use to run 10 inch by 60 foot grain auger in fall
The pulley is off the combine motor I just machined it. I’m doing another right now and we’re going to try to modify the water pump so I can use a factory fan this one I used a Napa flex fan and made spacers
@@andrewssoundsofthepast110 we put the bigger one on and it's all stock 4020 diesel parts I just went through it and fixed what the first mechanic did wrong
I’d say engine power to engine power they are very close the 4010 is 115 the 4040 should be right there too. The 18.4 38 on the 4040 consume more power. I pull a 4 bottom f145 plow the 4010 with 16.9 I can pull 6th gear 4040 I can get 4th but it’s much faster then 4010 4th gear
@@statefarm9998 right after I built the tractor my grandpa hit a tree disking. So i had to get a new hood from a buddy. The price was right so it went on. The other was really nice
Ours was a 1963 and had 18.4 - 34 rubber. It had a 4020 kit in it of course and it was dyno'd at Deere at 101 horse. Dad sure was proud
nice tractor I like how simple they are to drive compared to the newer ones great content
Love your tractor. Thanks
Nice work.

It’s was an experience
Sooo, you bought a Frankenstein tractor. The best kind to have! That way, when you have to work on it, you'll have loads of fun finding parts for it.
I built it so I know what every part is off of
Great Video!! Thanks!
Love the old girls in their work cloths.
Thanks original is my favorite

They still are great tractors
Really like the videos definitely got a new subscriber
Thank you sir appreciate it
I'm actually going to do a video that's essentially "The rest of the story" on the Meigs County Curse, aka MoJohn.
That would be awesome to hear and be documented
Might even get Dad talked into yapping on camera about it.
Haha perfect
It still sound like a John Deere should.
What was that front pully for. Any water pump mods

What model Donaldson air canister is that?
I’ll have to look when I get to the farm
If I were to do it again I’m not sure I’d use it it’s really snug in there and don’t get enough air across the radiator
I can’t read the housing number but the filter is P870522 if i find the emails from Donaldson I will let you know
Been record and has a bigger core in it
I didn't know that 7700 had a rotary pump I put one in my 4020 had the inline A pump
I believe the earlier ones had the rotary pump non turbo
No the temp gets that high dad had it on the dino and it was tuning 130 and he had it turned down to 100hp
Yeah I’ve never had it that high is your radiator clean
Needs a rain cap on the exhaust
Right again it does but normally my stuff don’t sit outside
Can you help me my dad has a 68 4020 that was gas and my dad repowered it with a 74 7700 combine and it wants to run warm I can send pics if it helps
Is it turbocharged
No it is not
Changed out the air cleaner from the gas to the diesel one but haven't had a chance to try it in the field
@@chadkalina1257 you’ll need a diesel one for flow. How did you do your fan

Your 4010 has a lot more power than your 4040 fyi. Unless the pump has been tuned.

Rh John Deere hood badge is on wrong side
Yep your right and it’s a sticker
Cool tractor, but ummmm sir your hood emblems are backwards 🤭
They are decals. Came on the hood that way
@@andrewssoundsofthepast110 I understand, once those go on its about impossible to get them off without destroying them. Still an awesome setup
