Michael Heiser, Tim Mackey, N.T. Wright, John Barclay, Michael Bird. So many books, so little time.
Man if that ain’t the truth✅
I’m storing up for retirement.

@@ringthembells143 My friend, I AM 'retired' and reading and studying constantly and I still can't get through enough. 😂😂😂
I attended a Grand Rapids Calvin Seminary lecture by NT Wright, and his presentation was so good that I went back to church after dropping out over a decade ago. His genius sight reading of the Nestle Aland Greek New Testament shocked and shamed me. It instantly made me feel stupid for being out of sync with King Jesus.
Love, love NT Wright. Thank you for inviting him to share his thoughts with us.
WHAT A TREAT TO HEAR NT SING AND PLAY GUITAR!!!!!!! THANK YOU
Amazing! What a blessing it must be for you to able to speak with such great scholars and teachers and what a blessing for all of us that you are sharing it with the rest of us folks! Thank you for your hard work, Shalom! ✌❤🙏
Thanks brother. Loving the adventure that we are both on!
What a powerful interview! Thanks especially for the quote from the ‘70s. A reminder that Bishop Wright has been teaching and writing and leading with wisdom for decades. A remarkable voice that spans my adult walk with Christ.
That means a lot✌️ It was special moment sharing that and I’m praising God for the incredible legacy we have in NT Wright…
And he’s not done yet ✅🔔❤️
Superb! An hour we'll spent. Tom always makes these things seem clearer
Thanks for spending that time with us. It means a lot. Blessings to you and yours ✌️❤️🔔
Lovely episode, from beginning to end.
Wow. That was such a good interview. It was really special to end with Tom singing. I can’t wait to see him in Houston on June 8th at the Lanier Library.
Thanks! Tell Tom we said hi🥳✌️🔔
Wright is simply brilliant and Bird is a well credentialed and clever writer…can’t wait to get my hands on this book.
Same!!! Hoping to interview Bird someday soon🤞🏻👀🔔
Great interview and I look forward to the book as well!
If you're curious what a conversation between DRMSH and N.T. would be like, I invite you to review their short discussion at a 2016 conference. It was not too long after Unseen Realm and perhaps their interaction resuled in Reversing Hermon...?
The interview I reference can be found by seeking out "Naked Bible 131: Conference Interviews Part 4"
Enjoy! ✌️ ☮️ 🕊
Awesome, I’ll check it out 🔥❤️🔔
Thank you for helping to nurture this seed - and many others😊
Just pre-ordered Dr. Wright's book on Jesus and the Powers. I'm glad I found your channel.
Awesome!!! PRAISE GOD🥳🔔
I recently watched the 3 part series “the evil powers that rule America “. After 3 viewings of the series and taking notes, I’m kinda hooked by the insights . This interview with NT Wright is a good elaboration and I’m more intrigued. Lots of things to contemplate. So I preordered the book you reviewed. BTW I loved the mobile studio. Perhaps you’ll consider a meetup tour at some point for likeminded people who would love to participate in your ministry. RING THEM BELLS YALL
You just made my day 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for these awesome kind words.
I love that idea. I’m fully convinced God has plans for that Studio I haven’t even dreamed of yet. Stay Tuned!
The Beginning is Near🔔❤️🔔
I wish NT Wright would do ‘fireside chats’ or something where he can share thoughts and ideas with us although we were sitting with him casually at home. Would be lovely.
On Unbelievable he did a program called “Ask NT Wright Anything”.
Very good - you can browse the topics by podcast.
Team Jesus 🎉 Ring them Bells ❤
I hope that he'll read Heiser one day because Heiser actually addresses everything that Wright objects to here.
Same 🙋🏻♂️
51:45 Just because Israel was monotheistic in their belief from Abraham, as we are in Christ, that does not thereby negate the reality that there are beings of divine origin that exist today outside of this dimension that do have the ability to influence and manipulate people and forces here on earth.
I like and respect Tom's insight and vision into "God with us", but I think he is naive as to the depth of insight and wisdom that Michael Heiser brought to our understanding and explaining the hierarchies of the unseen realms in all our lives.
I couldn’t agree more! It seems like NT was trying not to discount Dr. Heiser’s work, however did not articulate his support well enough. I also was surprised to hear his comment concerning re-establishment of these “Gods” to there former state and “jobs”? I don’t see how that is supported biblically at all.
@@arc6731 I suppose as a public figure speaking on such things as the kingdom of God, there are some guardrails in the mind that are developed over our lives that predispose our speech. Heiser was one of my first "ah-hah" teachers that confirmed in me about some of the things of our spiritual life that are plain to see in scripture with spiritual eyes. Problem is, most of the teachers of God's kingdom are still theologically influenced by the likes of Francesco Ribera and John Darby.
Which has contributed to a miserable comprehension of the spirits role in our life and how it affects change it the material dimension.
@@sentinaludo1489 Heiser though is off on much of that, for example in psalm 82 it's definitely referreing to the human rulers/judges at the time and how they were supposed to be judging righteously but weren't. We literally know the context of it with Asaph, so to stretch it out to say it was about the divine council is not good.
and in Genesis 6, it's a stretch to say that we were dealing with spirit beings that choose to copulate with human women, no those sons of God were humans that were trained up as sons o god and walking with God by faith. Heiser makes some huge jumps that frankly aren't warranted nor are they logical.
Some of what Heiser teaches is just flat out wrong.
@@josephpchajek2685so all these highly trained sons of god taking what ever women they wanted was okay and the offspring too ~ the fallen ~ then The Flood? 🧐 hmm…
@@josephpchajek2685
That Psalm 82 is speaking of the gods as being human is also a belief. But it is in by no means the truth. It seems to me to be a view that is strongly influenced by system theology, particularly dispensationalism.
People can believe that if they want, but that is not THE truth. It is a man contrived schema overlaid onto the scriptures that neuters the supernatural power of an omnipotent God and the intervention of other worldly beings into this world, into this cycle of time. And for some, that is more than they can comprehend or incorporate into their mind of the eternal kingdom of God and life in the eternal heavens today, now, entering through the "Thura", who is Jesus Christ on Earth.
Emmanuel, God with us. Problem is, most of western Christianity has been taught that heaven is a destination after you die or are raptured off the planet with the entire church at the end of time.
We are eternal spiritual beings, manifesting a material life on earth for a time, and the souls in some have been through this cycle before.
There is nothing new under the sun. What has been will be again.
Forest through the trees.
Or, Kingdom through the inhabitants.
Thanks for reaching out to him. So glad he is receptive to meet with you. You and I are on a ver6 similar trajectory.
Pause God!
I'm not saying he's not good. But I feel Dr. Michael Heiser is the best. Js. I'll give this guy a listen.
I know. I studied under Dr Heiser.
I'm curious about this topic but I hate the slur "Christian nationalism" which was designed by non-Christians who hate the idea that there is an authority above the government that grants human rights that can't be taken away by the government because we are made in the image of God. That idea offends them.
The book "Legislating Morality" by Norman Geisler and Frank Turek has an interesting take on it.
I too love Heiser and am an avid student of his. Trust me, Wright is every bit as good, or even better. I’ve read dozens of Wright’s works and they are as good as it gets!!
@philosophyze wait, wait. I didn't listen to this. But are you saying he is one of them. Also, understand I am no student. I am just a regular person who is on a journey with deepening my relationship with God. Who has experienced enough in life to know the other side exists. Along with my own personal research that with what Dr Michael Heiser taught is backed up and connected the dots for me. So I'm not all knowledgeable with the technical terms and whatnot. So, from what i gather, these ppl don't believe the government is answering to the principalities. Well, they're wrong. I've seen the sacrifices and proof with my own eyes. Anyway. This guy here doesn't believe the elites are being ran by the other elohims?
@@jeromeofmiddleton how would you say he's better than Dr. Michael Heiser
Both are great at their own specialties. Heiser is an expert in Hebrew and Ancient near east texts. Wright is a NT scholar. It's too.bad Heiser passed caused these two together would be ridiculous.
Thanks for another great interview. Will an interview with Dr. Mackie be coming soon? Praise be to our LORD Yeshua the Anointed one for forgiveness and grace. Amen. 🙂🙏✝️✡🕎🇺🇸🇮🇱❤
Thank you! I pray About that interview all the time. If the Lord wills One day it will happen and I’ve will be freaking out🥳❤️🔔
I wonder of NTW goes far enough when advocating for justice work. For example, setting up food banks is okay as a short term fix, but true justice work calls for going beyond charity toward addressing the *structural causes* of evil and poverty (not least the technoindustrial takeover of the food system, for one).
The way to address it is through creating a Kingdom alternative to the current Babylonian system based on various principles that are spread throughout Scripture. We as followers of Christ are called to be trees of Life and little patches of the Garden bearing fruit to feed, bless, and bring healing to our fellow humans.
Fantastic stuff!
Jesus The Messiah, Powers and principalities, and a diligent application of faith.
All 3 punch reformed calvinism in the face.
Look forward to exploring this latest work!
Love your passion. Enjoy✌️🥳❤️
Are you aware Michael Bird identifies as a calvinist?
@@truthseeker5698 I don’t get lost in that mess. The enemy has created divisions that separate us as believers from unity in Christ. I choose to step right over those. I love your passion and don’t want to offend you at all. But that’s just my personal stance❤️✅
@@ringthembells143 Thank you for your response.
I keep waiting for you, Tim Mackie, and Rev. Wright to discover that the theology you collectively describe is basically the same as Eastern Orthodox theology... which just happens to be the ORIGINAL Christian doctrine.
He could also be more vocal in naming (and shaming) specific evil rulers and nations... I wonder what holds him back and speak rather vaguely, politely and elegantly instead?
In full honesty I could have pressed harder✅🔔
Love NT just wished you had pressed him on whether he viewed the powers as fallen divine beings
I feel like I did but I see that there could’ve been more nuance towards asking where these dark powers come from. This series may helpua-cam.com/video/ai1HMcLhPL0/v-deo.htmlsi=cTIM8BO6ZqJAxRXN
Always amazes me folks that explain the awesome of God; then they go on and explain what God is thinking. Christianity seems reverse engineered. Conclusion seeking justification.
Good session. You may rethink your intro saying God’s salvation is not from this world but “of” this world. I think you mean “for” this world.
Think he’s emphasising Jesus’ humanity
This easter when you drink His blood know that you are drinking His blood in a new and LIVING WAY. No more for cleansing of sin but for his life in your blood. The Blood of Christ becomes the blood in your body thus the blood living in earth by you. Removing the consequences of sin in your dust of the ground since THAT blood is now the actual blood of your body. Hence the blood of Christ in a new and LIVING way.
35:00 he gets Christian nationalism wrong here. In fact, they are expounding the central tenant of Christian nationalism- that society should be transformed in a Christ-oriented direction. Perhaps he associates coercion with CN?
You understanding of the Christian nation is what needs work. The Christian nation is not the United States of America, or England, or any other country. The Christian nation is all of the world united under one king, Jesus. Any act that separates that body into a division and elevates one specific people or group over another is what we are speaking out against. Hope that makes sense
One quick question, where is King David since he did not ascend to heaven, acts 2
Not of his own power or covenant
But
King Jesus took captive the captives in His Train
Awaiting resurrection into New Creation, like everyone else who has died.
18:00… I appreciate Wright taking some time to explain his understanding of God’s righteousness and justice - a world put right again, or the righting of wrongs - by judges and kings. It seems that most theologians have rather emphasized personal virtue or morality as the meaning of Righteousness (I.e. sinlessness) and many people don’t know what to do with justice (as social justice has been co-opted by progressives). He then proposes that justification is for us to participate in God’s project of putting to right the world, joining God’s project of bringing good to evil and healing to hurt.
This seems to remove eternal salvation from the discussion on righteousness and perhaps revert us back to an OT world view (which was always focused on this world and not on eternity).
Where has Wright gotten his information? And how does he develop this in his New Testament work? And if righteousness and justification are this-worldly occupations, then where does one develop eternal salvation considerations?
Here this might help ua-cam.com/video/nNqrADKcb2A/v-deo.htmlsi=sdRffKQnNf8FVrOo
@@ringthembells143 So I watched it… Really good teaching on Atonement. But I still feel a disconnect between talking about justification as righting wrongs in this world and atonement as covering what is wrong in people as two separate discussions. Where is the connecting thread within Wright?
Specifically: Is God’s project for this world only? If we are discussing sharing the gospel with others, are we merely proclaiming that Israel’s king has come to right wrongs in this world (through us, His atoned/covered people)? Or are we also speaking of a means by which people are granted eternal salvation to live in the presence of God and Christ? Who benefits from the Resurrection and what does one need to do (in Wright’s schema) to be born again/accepted/regenerated? What specifically links the receiving of justification, atonement, and eternal life?
@@chaddonal4331 I appreciate where you’re coming from but I think it’s terminology and differing of core definitions of salvation and atonement that might be getting in the way or confusing things. I’m not trying to just share to share them. I literally created these to help answer specific questions like yours. So this one I think might be a little more specific towards what you’re looking to understandua-cam.com/video/ChR9M8-6r-o/v-deo.htmlsi=eWevEaq_V5IEpIq6
