This morning i decided to run some any% when i had this spawn. I immediately decided to go for core%. Thats why the splits are wrong.
To be honest i don't think anyone will ever beat this.
Theres only about 5 seconds to save and i had a perfect spawn.

I must say, I have only ever watched a friend play this game on stream so I had no idea what to expect, and I was mostly confused at what was happening but definitely impressed 😂 Even without knowing anything about the game I could feel that little stress when you fell into a cave, but damn if it isn't a neat run.

It isn't legit, towards the start there is a spot where you can tell he's using soil with the flattening tool despite not having a canister, also I'm pretty sure this footage is sped up slightly.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what's happening
Wait what the, i never changed anything about my footage, and where did i use soil without a canister? There are no such hacks or cheats in astroneer. I wonder how and why you came up with this
@@alpakastudio1 it's very possible it was just a visual glitch for the soil canister thing and also you just seem so fast that I was a little skeptical (not skeptical anymore)

Should be faster now that the small generator's output was doubled. Also: I have seen a speedrun in which the runner used a rover seat to move around fast (like with entering and exiting a shuttle constantly, but the shuttle being replaced with a rover seat). You can dive into the cavers with that too. It might be possible to print a rover seat in time and use it to zip over to a gate very quickly, and maybe with some practice even using it to skip cavern levels fast as well. The travel times could be cut more than just in half that way I guess.

Is the flying car seat glitch still available tho?
@@frostflame1241 I don't think so, I tried it about a year back on PC and it didn't work then... Of course, I could just suck at getting it to work too.

Nope, tier 1 is enough but you have to find a good spot to dig in
You DO need the tier 1 harder drill on your mining thing to get through it, it’s just kinda slow
From what I could see, the last layer isn’t a shell and you could mine through patches of weaker rock.
Very cool video, didn't know some of the techniques that I've been using were actually speedrun strats all along.

You cant drill a light green layer near the core without upgrade, no?
No you can't but it is not everywhere. Some places only have dark green
Plus when you smooth it out using the flatten type it does it at full speed

Its the flatten terrain mode, it'll remove or add material to extend the plane you started it on, so you just need to get a start, do the thing and then start sliding from how steep the floor is. Cuts trough the floor like butter as you can see.

You can see the any% run which is reaching the actual end on my channel aswell. Its longer though haha
Imagine the generators failed to fully power the gateway and you went to the core and saw a barrier
That has never happened to me once how dare you! :D
There are pretty consistent ways to skip the core barrier, so wouldn't be that big of an issue, just not accountable for speedrun.com anymore

Its a great game 1 time there was the core on the back of an mountain i explored the mountain and slide to my base for tethers and i have 2 full storage of tethers

The spawn is not that rare. Maybe every 20 runs im that close, the bigger problem is the tier 3 dirt under the mushroom caves

So one of my friends started the game and he is already ahead of me within 3 days (I have fully taken the main planet and it’s moon) and he said it took about 2-4 hours for the whole thing and so I said that’s so quick and then I get recommended this thanks youtube

hey i little update i just reach the core and i activated it with the other nodes of the planet and my playtime is 15.4 hours...
wow i think is a record for a beginner in this game like me

1/5 of that time was looking for the nodes of the surface
2/5 of the time was just reaching the core and i die a lot of times while bridging
2/5 of the time was farming resources and bytes

This isn’t beating the game , beating the game is activating every planets core and go to the unknown structure in space then you have beaten the game , further than that this is a very good speedrun

How do you ignore the fall damage at various times?
While falling run into a wall.
Or while falling build up terrain at the same speed and land on that or start sliding at the end of the fall. That's the main ways to ignore fall damage.

did you have to make multiple duplicates of a save because astroneer doesn't have custom seed generation or did you just know how to locate things that fast on the fly
2nd. Did like 200 runs until I got this one, it's all random generated.
Look at the any% run on my channel, it's also random seed but way more organized
