@@jbistaphonk It's the +4 (major third) and +7 (perfect fifth) that outline the major chord. The 2pi in the sine wave is just to keep it in tune with the note that is being played :D
my god thank you for making this, i knew diode is a great tool for distortion synths where the oscillators are separated by perfect fifths, this tutorial really just expands the possibilities with using a third harmonic and having a sub at -3
In case no one has said it yet, thanks for being a source of knowledge and inspiration i would have never gotten an understanding for Synths if it wasn't for these videos
It maybe needs some echo on the high end? It sounds just a little crispier than the original. But wow, you're a Serum warlock. This is one of my fave tracks. Can you do the pluck too?
I feel that there's too much maths going on, with some trigonometry or even more sophisticated geometry. I never thought that to be a music producer, you need to have a degree in math
@@spuke5403 it has nothing to do with music. It's just an engineering problem and it's basically a way to prepare the media to be used on radio, television, vinyl, within club speakers, etc. You can try to make a digital release and for anyone with headphones it would be fine. But everybody using mono speakers on their phones will loose some information. Mono-compatibilty is not just about sub bass, but it's mostly obvious there.
I can’t believe how great of a replica this is without any layering, thanks so much!
You never answered my question, how are you so good at doing these? They're so close to the original!

Ikr wtf 😂😂
I Would love to see this whole track reworked by you. Anyways fantastic job Sam! Still cant make the same reverb as you did there tho :D
the fact that this outlines a major chord holy shit
Is it because of the +7 semitones and the 2pie sin wave period ?

Not sure it's okay to put effects on such a low sub. Sub must be totally in mono. Without phase shifts of EQing.
shoot must have missed this in the rule book to making music. brb reading it all again
